Hunting Lodge Bar & Restaurant in Belfast

Been twice so far and food and service were amazing. Prices are very reasonable for the quality.

Pretty disappointing meal out with family. Menu and food was just ok, though it wasn’t very appetising to look at. Service was lazy and I’d to repeatedly remind our server for parts of our order, including cocktails that were ordered when we arrived which didn’t come until midway through our meal. Very disappointing experience all in all

Great evening out, Had a roast dinner the food was amazing and perfectly seasoned and well cooked. Staff were all super lovely and smiley as well as the atmosphere being lovely. Can’t recommend enough 10/10 must visit

Food poor. Steak meant to be medium was cooked right through with no sear looked like it was boiled. Garlic potatoes were even worse no crisp whatsoever must’ve been microwaved no garlic at all on them

This was our second visit. We were here a few weeks ago and loved it. Returned again this evening. Food, atmosphere and especially service, all excellent.

We've dined at the hunting lodge many times, and I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal. The waiting staff are excellent 👌 Can reccomend their roast beef 😋. We will be back

Place smelt of fingernails. Pasta was very slimy. Could've sworn nanny plum was singing in the bathroom. Couldn't stick it, went on home

The staff were really helpful and friendly but they were run off there feet because there was only 2 of them and place wasn't even that busy. Starter was battered mushroom and where hard and over cooked. The steak for main course was good.

Everything was great except when we went to the ladies bathroom it was icy cold. We go every Saturday night and without exception we all complain that the ladies bathroom is very unwelcoming because of its chilliness. We have mentioned it and nothing was done.

We all went there for my friends 14th birthday and there was 7 people there and when it came to the bill we got charged over 100+ pound and we only got 14 drinks they put stuff on the bill that we didn’t order and didn’t give us the right change I think they overcharged us because we are all 14-16 we calculated it and they didn’t calculate the right price

Food really nice, friendly staff.

A brilliant spot for a nice meal with great values for money. The food is very good. Portion sizes are great in a nice atmosphere. Then if you fancy staying on for a bit longer the pop in next door for a drink in a lovely bar.

Good food and atmosphere. Felt a bit rushed at the table was booked for 7pm and the kitchen closed soon after. Would have been better if they'd had let us known when bookkng but otherwise good tasty food and good service.

The restaurant staff were fantastic, they were very friendly and helpful and the food was beautiful. The bar had live music who were very good at singing and entertaining and there was a good ambience in the bar.

Decided to go to the Hunting Lodge Bar & Restaurant as it is close and we could walk there as a family. When we got there we were greeted by friendly staff, who showed us to our table. The staff were very attentive throughout our meal, ensuring we had everything we needed. As a family we ordered a variety of meals from, stir fry, burgers, fries and desserts. No one regretted any choices made, as the food arrived in good time and was delicious. Overall the Hunting Lodge is great value for money and a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy a good meal.

This is atrocious I ordered a kids meal and for dessert I only got two scoops of ice cream? That's unfair, the kids meal should be able to get what they want for dessert or even have fudge cake with the ice cream 😡😡 absolutely unacceptable

Had a lovely meal only fault was it was meant to be 2 courses for £17.50 & 2 cocktails for £13 but when i checked my bill the next day everything had been charged separately which added to the price but will definately be back

Too expensive, food is terrible chicken as dry as a turkey, suppose to be stuffing, but I couldn't find it, staff only smile when they realise you given them a good tip, which happens to be when your leaving, considering there's much better 10mins down the road with half the price as the huntingdon, I suggest you drive on.

Welcoming and spacious. Highly recommended the daub of beef and the beef noodles! Staff were really accommodating and lovely, music was good shout and toilets were clean. Portions are massive so be warned lol all in all a lovely evening. We would eat here again definitely.

Sent wrong starter 3 times, on third attempt I just accepted(even though still wrong) goujons were soggy, forgot gravy, salt and chilli chicken sizzler was sweet and definitely not sizzling, some food on menu not available. Overpriced and disappointing. Left most of food on plate. Will definitely never visit again 👎👎👎

Real lovely spot for food and drinks highly recommended

Went Easter Sunday for a dinner as we sat down we received very rushed service. We chose our starters and mains which the starter then arrived within seconds (had clearly been sat there didn’t taste too fresh). Had finished our starter for about 2 seconds and the mains arrived. No chance to digest, it was very go go go. Bill came over at £83?? 2 people on a 27.95£ set menu, doesn’t make sense. There were 8 cokes on the bill which told them we only had 2 and the lady persisted to say it was correct as that equals to a pint of coke each (the glass wasn’t even full and was flat as). We then ordered our dessert after paying the bill (making sure we payed the full amount before they escorted us to eat standing up:) ). After paying we got told we need to have it at the bar and was quickly rushed off our table. People were setting the table out for the next people as we hadn’t even got our coat on yet or had our dessert. We went to the bar there was no seats so we walking around for the bar man to say your dessert are over here. They were on the bar? He said eat up which we thought was a joke but it was serious and we were made to eat our dessert stood up with our bags and coats on. So not only we’re we rushed around forced to leave the table mid meal we also got charged £83 f2 set rushed meals at £27.95, 1 drink each, and our desserts stood up coat and bags on. Absolute disgrace. Also to add the environment was very very noisy not a nice atmosphere, would not recommend unless you enjoy eating stood up!!

Nice food, nice staff and not expensive. We had 3x3 course meals for 45 quid. Can't remember ever having a bad meal in this place. They also have strongbow on tap which is unusual for a West Belfast bar/restaurant. UPDATE. The prices have doubled/almost tripled which is a shame. Last time here at Yums as it is now it cost over 100 for 4 people plus drinks. Food was still nice , same can't be said about the cost. Can't see me going back if it stays that way.

Great food, place was cold but I did go in when it just opened so maybe needs a little time to warm up.

Sports bar with lots of TVs but not a loud and raucous place. Good friendly vibe. Great bar staff. Great Guinness, and also serves Guinness Zero which is damned good for drivers !

Cheap stuff and over charge with those foods. Lasagne is cold in the middle. Sirloin steak meat is frozen stuff, menu mention fresh meat 🤮 never go back. Do not go to this place, please

I travelled from Meath yesterday to take my sisters out for lunch so I obviously wanted everyone to enjoy the experience. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, a very clever menu which offers a good selection of well prepared dishes using a minimal amount of ingredients, something I love to see in a well run kitchen to reduce food waste. Great value also, 2 courses for 4 and a bottle of wine , £94.00 before a tip. The staff are just lovely also, friendly, efficient and super helpful, the 2 girls working yesterday afternoon were a breath of fresh air. Thank you for making my sister treat a success.

Glad the hunting lodge restaurant was took over because the food is much better than before. I was here yesterday to celebrate my daughters 13th birthday party, 20 adults & 10 children which is a lot of pressure but the kitchen & staff coped very well. The restaurant was lovely & cool great air conditioning table set up was spot on worked well. Starters where different level chicken tempura was amazing never had anything like it cooked to perfection with balsamic vinegar but it was the sauce that set if off some sort of salad dressing. I don't like soup much other than Campbells tomato soup lol but the soup of the day Brocoli and onion soup was beautiful everyone loved it, super start. I had the sirloin chargrilled steak cooked medium & even though it was cooked perfectly pink the steak was very bland I had to use salt & pepper which I don't usually do, onion rings where tasty not sickening lightly battered chips where just okay & the garlic sàutes I've had better the family and friends loved the Lasagne, Sunday roast, chicken supreme, satay chicken & smoked haddock the supreme chicken Is a big portion so if you have a big appetite I recommend. I managed to taste a few desserts smelt great & looked the part I recommend the sticky toffee pudding & fudge cake, mint cheesecake isn't for me & unfortunately cremè brulee was dissapointing tasting for the first time I can't say much custard with a caramelised sugar top not for me bland & not very filling texture is strange. Kids menu brilliant good options but unfortunately kids meals where poor especially the sausages real frustrating that most restaurants these days seem to be cooking eg frozen Richmond sausages in a deep fryer terrible just to save money as they don't go out of date nowhere near as quick as the fresh fridge sausages the difference is night and day they where like leather please change these? Cocktails freezing cold real refreshing & 2 for £13 I would highly recommend I will be back for the drinks alone. Easy parking out front and easy access not so sure for a wheelchair before people ask steps out front & steps in restaurant only toilets we used where up back so I'm not sure a wheelchair would be a good idea. Main bar & ice cream parlour nextdoor same building & chinese outside premises always handy if in bar for a drink overall great place.

Lovely place to eat good food at a decent price in nice surroundings. The fact that there's a great ice cream parlour attached makes it all the better.

Went on mother's day with my dad and daughter. Although nice enough we were unfortunately the 3rd sitting of the day and there were a few things not available on the menu. Just a small thing but why did they insist on putting a puddle of gravy all over the dinner? Some people either don't like it at all or just like a little. Better to offer on the side in a jug. Staff were amazing though. Thanks

Havent been in it since it was refurbished years ago. Resturant was clean and efficient even on mothers day. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Standard old man bar round the side as its always been. I would go back definately.

The picture below is of a kids sausage meal, £7 for below quality food . Complaint was ignored , starters were nice but pricey. 2x 22 steaks . 1 of which was OK. The other was honestly a disgrace and should never of been plated up for anyone. I refused to pay for it and was told that Tommy wasn't there to take it off the bill so no refund was possible. and if it was refunded the waitress could be sacked. When we were leaving 1 steak was taken of the bill finally on Tommy say so No apology but told I could get a Chinese on way home when mentioned that we where having to go home to sort out dinner. I had previously been to yum at Hunting Lodge on at least 5 or 6 occasions which wife and kids and each time had spent roughly 100£, happily as always enjoy starters and mains are usually reasonable. Thee staff are usually gr8 and work hard. The Road needs a nice place to go and eat in. This could have been a 1 off but how the compliant was handled with was disrespectful and lacked class. I couldn't pay 7£ again for a kids meal knowing that the management think it's OK to serve up the likes as shown by the photo. You have seen the photo above and you are asking me why I only posted 1 star. Strange I hope that this has cleared it up for you.
