The food and service here are great, all the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great however the coffee area could use a deep clean

Steak was meant to be medium rare, they did it well done. Tomatoes and mushrooms were very undercooked.... It's hit or miss going here whether you get decent food or a meal you'd sooner throw out. The servers are generally really good and 9 times out of 10, they try give a smile despite it being obvious they're under a lot of pressure and dealing with difficult customers. Always a good atmosphere.

Doesnt break the bank and is not a bad full of grub and drinks but need to work on the finessing service and cooking of meat however can't argue for the price

Went for lunch and ordered fish and chips to be followed by apple crumble. The food arrived fairly quickly but the two courses arrived together. I asked for the apple crumble to be removed till ai was finished the fish and chips and was told that it would be kept in a heated place till I was ready for it. I asked 2 members of staff that I was ready for the dessert but I waited as I was told that it would be brought to me. After a fair amount of time it never arrived and so I left. The table was never cleaned from the previous customers and felt dirty and sticky. Very disappointed. On a good note, the fish and chips was great.

The worst Wetherspoons experience. You don't expect a sensational experience at a Spoons, but I've never seen one so dirty and grotty. The staff were ignoring the tables piled with plates and glasses. We had to ask a waitress to clear our table, she cleared the plates but she never wiped it - so there was sauce, half eaten food, and salt all over the place... Had to go and find another member of staff to wipe it for us... The service was so slow and I found the members of staff rude. Every 10 mins or so, all staff disappeared (presumably for a cig break).

Friendly enough staff, quick service and nice coffee. The little amount of beans we had were cold and the machine for frying eggs is broken lol never heard an excuse like it. Guess they don't know how to fry an egg in a frying pan. Overall the food was good tho. Going back tomorrow to give them a 2nd chance to do better.

Terrible waited 45 mins for breakfast & it was Luke warm very disappointed, messy tables not clearing down, very tired place. No apology at all.

Its a Spoons. Usual drink and food selections, although the mens bathroom was a scabby disgrace.

the waiter was very rude to me and my friend who were out for tea we are all under the age from 16 and got ask to leave due to age restrictions we have been many times and never had a problem like this before when asked to leave we why and the waiter was very rude to us saying that we should of issues before and just came across and rude won’t be going again disrespectful disappointed with service

Tables are always sticky, not been wiped properly. Previous guests food plates are left on tables for over half hour. Macaroni is like the packet box macaroni, only with a little melted cheese. Heated from a microwave. Tomato sauce, is filled with cheap tomato sauce! Wetherspoon has gone really down hill.

Place is a stinking mess dust everywhere paper on floor tables hadn’t been cleaned my mother had to clean the table for the staff as they couldn’t be bothered to do it. Food took about 30-45 mins to come out thought I was gonna die before anything came out the sauces were everywhere mouthing in order. All around terrible service from failing staff and managers.

almsot got kicked out for ordering food with my friends, my friend is 17 and 16 who have travelled from England to see me, and I am 15, we all got asked for id and i didn’t have anything on me so I could not show anything she then proceeded to tell us that we had to leave after pre ordering the food by my mum or get an adult to come, we then had to phone my mum to come from Kelso and by the time my mum had arrived we had finished our food, we had no idea about this rule with having an adult and should’ve been told beofre we ordered staff was also very rude

Toilets are very dirty, not cleaned mess in first two cubicles. Staff swearing in front of customers staff having breaks off shift talking about other members of staff in earshot of customers not a great look.

Went for a late lunch and ended up staying long time later. Staff are so helpful and you can laugh with them

Five of us had a meal and drinks ordered on the app food very small portions but what you got was nice

Ordered bacon roll and my partner a Scottish breakfast, first bacon roll came charcoaled the bacon broke in my hand when it came, waitress wasn’t very polite when i complained when she put it down in front of me, I asked to get it changed it came back and bacon was cold, couldn’t be bothered to complain again, also my partners breakfast just like warm and his black pudding was rock solid, absolutely disgusting won’t be back, will stick to Annie’s cafe. Need better chefs with more experience at cooking.

The outside hall is great! Perfect area for a beer in fresh air as well as having a cigarette or vape if you like

The ambience in the garden was really great, but the inside was rather dark. Service was catastrophic, always overlooked us or the table, so that the drinks and food we ordered online were returned straight away. We had to speak loudly several times in order to get our drinks and food.

Called in here on Bank Holiday Monday for lunch. We were absolutely disgusted at the state of the place. It was filthy. Tables not cleared, trampled in food on the carpets, bits of food under tables. Everything looks so unclean. We left without eating. Will defo not be back.

The only real way to rate a Wetherspoons is to review the adventure to the toilets, and how wild the carpet is. The toilets provided a suitable sense of exploration (+), but unfortunately the carpet was dull (-). Overall, a good to very good spoons. Friendly staff, nice looking beer garden. A new carpet could see the star rating upgraded.

Food and drink excellent value and always good...been in here on several occasions...staff are courteous too... Would definitely recommend this venue..

Staff friendly but same as last time no one ever cleans tables when they're empty so asked for a cloth to do it myself pizzas,looked great but pasta meal was not great

Visited here on 19th & 20th March. Must say that food & service on both days was excellent. I visited mid afternoon on both days and the restaurant was reasonably busy.

I ordered a margherita pizza to discover I appeared I ordered the wrong thing cause they sent a pizza with just f*ckimg sauce and hardly any cheese and that is not even the peak of my sorrows I ordered a bowl of ice cream with extra cheese for dessert and they didn’t serve it with my f*cking cheese

Came on Friday lunchtime, there was dirty dishes everywhere, tables needed cleaned, staff on their phones, and food not very hot. We sit in same seat every time, so can see thru kitchen door, food sits on hot plate for while. There were no clean cups ready

Usually enjoy the food = don't go on a Tuesday night! Couldn't have what I usually order and food must have been plated up at least an hour before ordered and served? Not too hot on clearing and cleaning tables either.

Very disappointing. My son was sick after the last visit but decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately I was sick this time. Will not be back .

Just had the worst breakfast of my life eggs benedict was awful had the same meal alot of times here in the past was always very good felt sick as soon as leaving today will never back in that establishment, absolutely disgusting

Don't have the American cheese burger it's rubbish. I'm shocked they even sell that.

It is what it is nothing special, food was microwaved, I suppose if you had an all day special breakfast you might get a freshly cooked egg, the service was average you gave your order & didn't even get a smile or thank you, the atmosphere was non existent it was dark & dingy & that was at the tables at the front by the wall to wall windows, won't be going back there in a hurry that's for sure..

I find the staffing levels have slowed down. But it's not as bad as The Dunfermline branch. That's dropped totally

Good free WiFi so easy to order via app. Quick service of drinks and food to our table even at prime time on a Friday evening. The vegetarian curry was really delicious, great flavours and mild in heat even though it has 2 chilli's on the menu. The half roast Lemon and herb chicken was well cooked and (everyone's favourite word) moist with lots of flavour. The mash was okay but had spent a little too long in the microwave as per the curve solid mash rings. Great availability of items on the menu, on a couple of things not available. Staff were friendly and cheery. Toilets were clean and we'll maintained. Will definetly go back and would recommend.

Nipped into Wetherspoons midway through our regular Saturday walk. Ordered via the app which is normal now and we each had a Scottish Breakfast. The potato scone was a let down. It felt it had been in the fryer for a few minutes longer than it should have been. Toast & black pudding was a plus (not in the small breakfast) and the two cups of Tea was welcome. Overall worth the price but quality was average at best. Service was ok.

What you expect to find at Wetherspoons. Cheap and cheerful springs to mind, I suppose. However, the food was not great. I ordered fish and chips. A good old staple diet. Nothing too complicated. My fish was well over cooked. The batter was dry and too crisp. The poor fish inside looked and tasted like it had the life ducked out of it. Chips double fried, or just over fried. I wouldn't go back to this branch again. Although I have used other Wetherspoons with much better food.

I only gave this 3 stars for atmosphere as it wasn't busy being a Tuesday afternoon. Regardless of that it was a good pub to be in so U couldn't really comment on atmosphere of the pub

Einfaches Restaurant mit einfacher, sehr preiswerter Küche. Und es schmeckt gut.

Our first time at this spoons and couldn't fault it. Quick service lovely breakfast and Drinks clean and tidy effiecient staff and great value for money.

Awful night. Although we booked, tables weren't ready for us. staff were rude. I vomitted and a family member had diarrhoea. Poor show

What a terrible night, the bar staff were inattentive and slow, I had to wait 5 minutes to get served, usually not a problem but the pub was near empty. As for the management, save your complaints for someone who gives a damn, what a bad-tempered power-tripping bunch. I think they must really hate their jobs and really should look at different careers. It's called the hospitality business for a reason. Also, the pub lacks atmosphere it's a big empty shed, I think next time in the borders I'm off to Melrose.

It's wetherspoons you get what you expect, well priced food quickly served and pleasant atmosphere. Only minor gripe was the lamb was a bit undercooked for my liking. Still aye everything else and managed to squeeze in a bit of the kids pizza 🍕.

Would be good if staff didn't socialise at the bar and spent more time clearing tables. Guests next to me had to ask for a table to be cleared before they could sit down.

No atmosphere to talk of. Never asked if our food was okay.

Nice little weatherspoons with great food, and an outdoor seating area which has signs up for non smoking however we saw quite a few smoking but were not challenged on this. Despite great service, there seemed to be few staff about but we did enjoy our visit.

Galashiels weatherspoons was lovely yesterday. Food came out quick and hot. Good value for money. Only problem was the hot chocolate didn't really taste nice it was very plain and not very hot chocolatey my friend mentioned this to a member of staff but the lady advised there was hot chocolate in the machine. I was wondering maybe the hot chocolate that had been dispensed has left a gap and it needed the rest pushed into the system like just stirred. The lady kindly swapped it for a juice which I appreciated a lot.

Just like any wetherspoons it's has its place among restaurants. Relatively average food and a fair price. Cheap enough beer.

I like weatherspoons food but the cleanliness and staff attitude let's this place down. Tables never cleaned, menus all sticky and staff are terrible. There isn't any competition in Galashiels so this is why people still go there and why they still open .

First time in here. I have fish and chips and a glass of OJ with lemonade. Fish was piping hot, chips was warmish. Didn't had to wait long.

Like most Wetherspoon pubs food was good and more than enough,first visit to this pub but will come back next time am in Gala.

It's a spoons, and you know what to expect to a large degree. But this one's pretty poor. Staff completely disinterested, zero customer service, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and food quality is well below par even considering what you're paying for it.

Visited at lunchtime today, food was possibly the worse bar food I have ever tasted, chicken, dry/overcooked, rice 1/2 bag of uncle bens microwave rice, only decent thing was the exit.
