Hummingbird Cafe in Aberdeenshire

Really disappointing and extremely overpriced. Not a bad cup of coffee and young girl that served us was really good but that's where the positives end. We popped in for a spot of lunch and were really disappointed we had a sandwich and a wrap. For the prices we were being charged would have expected at least a side salad and a couple crisps. But in the case of the crispy chicken wrap I got what seemed like soggy chicken nuggets and cheap garlic mayo a total of 4 bites sitting sadly in the middle of the plate.. at least a Sainsbury's next door to get something else to eat

Have been to cafe a few times and are always more than happy with food. The staff are very friendly and helpful in particular Arran.

Cafe is in a building which is half hairdresser and half cafe. This is okay but there isnt a lot of seats and the seats/tables they do have are very close so you cant help but overhear any conversations at the next tables. if you sit in the corner table you would need to get table behind to move a little bit in order to get out of the chair. Food was okay - think it would be a nice place to go for a morning coffee and a croissant.

Decided to try for lunch - server was very courteous and good selection of sandwiches. Not such a great selection of cakes so went elsewhere. Cakes were also expensive. Would be a nice place to go in summer when weather is good but for sitting in it is far too small. Seating for 8 and you are practically sitting on top of each other… worse when people are standing around waiting for takeaways food. No privacy. Such a shame - should either be a cafe or a hair salon, didn’t like the mix of the two, too confusing

Service was friendly and quick. Staff were helpful and food was amazing! Help recommending food when I couldn’t make my mind up! 5 out of 5 from me

Gorgeous little cafe with yummy food and very friendly service, the fresh raspberry jam on just baked croissant was divine, beautifully clean toilet.

We came here Saturday morning. The food was delicious. I would recommend the breakfast roll. The coffees were delicious too. The young lad who served us was very nice. The prices are reasonable. The only reason I am not giving 5 starts is because it’s too small inside (would be nice to have more seats) but the food and service was perfect!

Went here last week for the first time for a takeaway. My coffee was really really good, soup was delicious and my husbands sandwich was very tasty . The girl who took the order was very friendly and efficient. Also thought it was good value for money. A very pleasant experience , will be back.

Just had to give a 5 star review for my lovely “straight from the oven” delicious scone that I enjoyed this morning. So great to be able to visit with my puppy as there is a tented area (with cosy blankets and overhead heaters). Multitasked as car was being serviced next door, fitted in some beauty treatments in The Residence while my Mum watched the dog too. If you haven’t already been to the Hummingbird Cafe, why not?

This is a decent local coffee stop who have made a lot of effort with the shop, cafe, and outside seating area. Been a few times now and the coffee is good and the cakes are perfectly tasty. BUT I have to say that for the price per scone/cake and the size of them, they are way too small, almost child/OAP sized. Compared to other cafes in the area, well, their cakes are much bigger and cost less.

If you haven’t already visited The Hummingbird Cafe in Kintore, you are missing out. It’s situated next to The Residence at Rebecca Carr in Midmill Parade. It has ample parking and inside, outside and gazebo/tent options for dining, so all weathers are considered. I visited with my Mum, my 4 year old niece and my puppy. Outside and gazebo/tent are dog friendly (staff even bring a water bowl and doggy treats). My niece loved the outside play area and the ability to choose her own lunch box from a mix and match range. My Mum already had had her lunch so opted for a soya latte and although torn between her favourite lemon drizzle and the cafe’s signature hummingbird cake, the hummingbird cake won and she reported that it was delicious. I enjoyed a late lunch and chose the cous cous salad bowl. A generous portion, well presented and the flavours were lovely. Staff serving were friendly, knowledgeable of all the dishes in the menu and very efficient. Next visit is already planned, looking forward to trying more of the dishes on the menu as they all were so tempting. This time I will leave room for some hummingbird cake too!

Everything about your cafe is lovely especially the vegan chocolate brownies and the outdoor seating. Sadly, your decaf coffee is not good, seriously, it’s awful…

Coffee was horrible,- latte full of bubble, milk was burnt and tasted like flat white instead of easy drinking lattee, but cake was really lovely Will give it a try one more time with hope it was just one off.

Met up with our daughter for a coffee and a scone. The coffee was very tasty and the cheese scones were very tasty
