Hotel Chocolat in Colchester

Me and my girlfriend had an excellent experience at the Love Match Selector event. Eri was our staff member and she was amazing, she’s really passionate and such a lovely staff member. Chocolate was amazing and we got so much out of the event so thank you. 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Today me and my boyfriend had a love match selector event run by Eri, and it was amazing! She was so kind and passionate about the chocolate and how it's made. We got treated so well by the staff, and the amount of chocolates we got in the event was 100% worth the money. They even give you a chocolate pack for free. I would definately recommend this event and the whole shop in general!

We have found the best cafe in Colchester. Great coffee , great hot chocolate. Superb choice of unique chocolates. The managers and staff are so friendly, helpful, and professional. Always a pleasure to visit.

It was very relaxing and enjoyable being able to take my dog in with me. She loved all the fuss she was shown by staff and customers alike. I really enjoyed my decaf cappuccino and my gluten-free salted caramel brownie. I will definitely be visiting there again with my dog. Lovely to find somewhere in the town centre where dogs and breastfeeding mum's are more than welcome and actively encouraged. Don't ever feel you need to apologise for breastfeeding your baby in public. It's a natural thing to do.

We popped into the cafe for a birthday treat. What makes this place is the staff. Always excellent and friendly. Coffee is good and the ice cream sundaes are fantastic. Covid 19 precautions sre in place.

I am a chocolate connosour and these chocs are truly sumptious...The quality is better than you will find anywhere in Colchester. Give it a go as you wont be disappointed. The salted caramel truffles are the best you will find. Amazing is all i can say...

Met up with family for a sunday morning treat. The small cafe is situated at the back of the store. The tables were clean and seating was comfortable. Prices were really good and between the five of us we had an assortment of hot chocolates. I personally (a chocolate lover) found the chocolate cream on top to be like a mousse , a meal in itself and too rich for me. If I visited again (and I am sure I will) I would not opt for the topping. The chocolate drink was excellent. I am sure we will be back.

Great service and tasty chocolate treats and coffee. I reccomend this to everyone. Cafe price are on par with everywhere, but tastes better than Costa.

The little chocolate cafe at the back of the shop is a pleasant place to meet friends whilst also enjoying coffees, teas or indulging in the chocolate themed drinks and ice-creams. The various chocolate offerings are deliciously calorific, but with a number of permutations. Personally, in cold weather I enjoy the warming flavour of chilli or ginger as additions. However, during the hot summer weather, I found the flavours of speciality teas or iced coffee more refreshing whilst permitting me to explore slices of cake without feeling too blown-out! The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the tables kept cleared and clean. It is also a good place for parents of young babies to enjoy socialising whilst able to keep watch over their sleeping babes.

The selection of chocolate and chocolates is wonderful with something for everyone, staff very helpful and polite.

Lady from Mexico served us and she was very helpful. We tried all different chocolate types and everything was really yummy! Place is really clean and well looked after.

Popped in after a recommendation with a friend. Ordered 2 x 70% dark chocolate drinking chocolate, with chocolate cream! Was absolutely divine, chocolatey and amazing. Was reasonably priced for the luxury chocolate and lots to choose from.

Pop in here for a great choice of unusually flavoured choccy treats, or maybe an ice cream or a speciality coffee. A bit pricey maybe but then the wares on offer aren't your usual run of the mill chocolates!
