Very Very poor service gone downhill badly to salty to dry and overcook don't waste your money That's 50 pound that I'm a drain

Words aren't enough to describe how bad the food looked snd tasted. Two spoonfuls and I chucked the fluorescent mess in the bin. Tasted stale and looked radioactive. Horrible

Absolutely dreadful food! There were two hairs on/in the starter platter box, chicken satay was old and dried out inside but soaked in old oil, it was gross. The starter platter wasn’t touched on the side of the hair, but the other side we took out a spare rib that was all bone and grissle. The seaweed wasn’t real seaweed and had so much sugar on it, it was like a dessert. Crispy beef had little/no beef and had raw onion in it, the special rice was bland and flavourless. The food arrived quickly but was tepid at best. £40+ in 4 dishes, the worst takeaway ever, shocking!!

I decided to give it a try after a friend’s recommendation. The food were amazing and the staff were friendly. I believe some of latest reviews weren’t true on here. Would recommend it.

First ever time using Hot Woks, ordered via Uber Eats and absolutely vile! Everything was cold and full of salt! Will never order from here again!

I ordered No2. platter mixed. The food was very well packaged and was lovely apart from the S/S sauce which was acidic/vinegary--(very). The 2nd item 27a shred chilli beef was lovely. The delivery driver a mature gentleman was adorable and very professional. Other than the sauce Excellent treat Thankyou.

We have been using this restaurant since we moved to the area in 2019. The menu which has changed recently in my opinion is awful. They have taken away lots of the menu items, rearranged the menu in the weirdest headings but most of all the food quality has dropped massively. It’s time to find a new Chinese restaurant to deliver some better food with a more regular and standard menu. What a shame that it has gone so down hill.

Unfortunately the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. 90% went in the bin. Just really poor quality. I had the Kung po chicken and special fried rice. There was plenty of it, but it just wasn’t edible.

Meant to place an order with a different Hot Wok but placed an order here by accident. The people were lovely in dealing with this mix-up and were very understanding of our situation. Will definitely order next time to make up for it!! Thank you!

“0” Stars This has to be one of the worst Chinese takeaways, ever! We threw most of the food away after one bite. Their Crispy Chili Beef was an odd colour of red and very hard to eat. Squid, which I adore, was unrecognisable and inedible. We paid over £50 for this rubbish. Deliveroo were quick but avoid ordering from this place at all costs.

This was the worse Chinese I have ever ordered in my life! The food came like it was in a food waste bin! I paid for delivery then got a phone call for £4.00 more then! Then when the lady came to my door she told me I need to pay £10.00 and was arguing with me! Very disgusting!!!!

First time ordering good reviews so thought give it a try. Wish we never did. Chilli beef was burnt, dumplings were raw and after ringing them they didn't take ownership of there actions and the raw burnt food. No acknowledgement of the poor food they cook. Put all blame on delivery company. Never order again from here

i wouldn't give stars if i could, i received the wrong order, when i called i was informed that apparently the restaurant was closed even the restaurant closing at 11 and i called 15 minutes early, the food that was delivered to me was full of hairs, just disgusting. health and safety is not a thing in this restaurant

We ordered a Take Away for home delivery. It arrived half an hour early and was already stone cold. It ruins the meal when you have to microwave everything before you can eat it. Some of it was tough and rubbery. Not the first time, but will definitely be the last.

Been using the Hot Wok for 20+ years. It's always been great, so I thought it about time to give it a review.

I honestly don't understand the poor reviews, I honestly think it's the best takeaway in Bracknell. Friendly staff, very good prices, and sometimes faster delivery than expected. I have my favourite orders too and they know it haha

To be fair the delivery was prompt but the food was horrendous. Watery soup, funny tasting and texture chicken. Crispy duck appeared to be broiled/warmed up. Fat not rendered and therefore not crispy. Most of it went in the bin. STEVE

I’ve had every Chinese in Bracknell and hot wok is in top 2 easy!! Food is always hot with lots of flavour and well cooked!! I recommend the finger box they do for £7 then there specially fried rice with special curry or there beef...

Excellent service as always. Service with a smile and wonderful food. Very tasty and good portion sized for families. Great value for money. Duck in Black Bean Sauce and Vegetable Chow Mien are my favourites. The Fortune Cookies are a great touch too! Highly recommended....

We used Deliveroo to bring our order, the delivery was quick and food still very hot so no problem with this part. My wife is vegetarian and said that her dishes were good but not great but for the price no real complaints. I only gave 3 stars due to the chicken filets that I had, they were a strange texture almost slimy and were very bland, probably reconstructed pre-cooked meat.

Food was poorly prepared, uncooked, greasy and tasteless. When complained to the manager he didnt want to know,very poorcustomer service. We will never ever give them the business again! If you want a decent takeaway go somewhere else 👌

We ordered chicken balls and crispy beef amongst other dishes and they were terrible. The chicken balls were slimey and the crispy beef was like eating cardboard, tasteless and dry (not that I often eat cardboard!). Other dishes were very poor but included chips, rice and prawn crackers. I called up to complain and the Manager proceeded to tell me how many dishes of each they had sold that night with no complaints. He was not at all interested. I had ordered thankfully throughout Deliveroo and they were very helpful and refunded my money. Something I would never of got from Hot Wok. Do not waste your money if for no other reason than to ensure you don’t have to speak to the rude Manager.

One word best describes our experience - yuk! Food was bland and tasteless with lingering aftertaste. We had no desire to eat all we ordered. Improvements need to be made.

Been using for years , I wouldn't listen to some of these Reviews As Dennis knows half of his customers by first name terms, Always friendly , OK sometimes food not ready on time on friday /saturdays but hey Very busy Times . Try ordering first by phone and collect yourself . Never been a problem I just pop next door 5 mins choose a bottle of wine Happy days . Lawrence .

We had a delivery of a good spread of dishes. Everything arrived piping hot, and super quickly. No fault to their kitchen for speed or accuracy. But everything was just done on the cheap. Sweet and sour pork balls... I have no idea what was in those balls, but it was unlike any pork I have ever eaten or seen. Rice dishes were bland, sauces were sharp and vinegary. I know it was a cheap meal and one shouldn't expect haute cuisine. But there are plenty of other Chinese takeouts that do it much better.

Nothing to say really - such a shame that this has deteriorated so much, it used to be excellent but has gone downhill in recent months

To be honest, not sure why I'm going out of my way to write a review for this awful business but i believe from the way i was treat & reading other similar reviews it should be stated. 'The so-called Manager' clearly doesn't understand customer service. I was outraged with the way the manager dealt with the situation. Ordering £20's worth of food (which shouldn't take long anyway) for it to be delivered bearing in mind my home location is in Ascot which is a 3-5 mile journey. I was told on the phone my delivery would take 30 minutes which is fine, 45 mins later still no sign. I was calling & calling, no answer so i thought they forgot about my order. 1 hr 30 mins later my takeaway decided to arrive.Yes I understand you have to wait a specific delivery time but definitely not this much especially when the food ends up being cold & full of grease!!!! Delivery driver wasn't even apologetic just said he's been running around all night well if that's the case could've stated that on the phone? Anyway, this was last Sunday i ordered from Hot Wok & rang them on the following Monday to state what happened however the manager was on holiday so another member of the team said he would be in contact in the next couple of days. I waited a week so i thought i would make contact last night. Manager had no clue about my experience so had to inform him who couldn't careless, had the worst attitude in the world. i asked for a refund and said £20 is a lot of money so couldn't do that, 'I'll give you £10 worth of credit towards your next takeaway'. The manager wasn't even apologetic either just stated how I apparently ordered late (9:10pm) on a Sunday when they are open till 10:30pm. He said 'Oh, well don't order from us so late then' well really you shouldn't take anymore orders if you aren't capable of doing so! AVOID THIS PLACE, even if you do grab a takeaway and the service you received wasn't up to your expectations..don't expect a refund. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME & MONEY!!!!

Having been a good customer for many years I was left shocked at the “ service “ I received last night ! Ordered £30’s worth of food , waited and waited for well over an hour only to receive a call from the delivery man saying he rang my bell n was outside ... firstly I do not have a door bell and when I asked him where exactly are you ? His response was I’m outside here ... I went to look for him , no sign at all ! I called him back he was abusive beyond words ! I rang the restaurant and stated what had happened only to receive a very hostile reaction from the owner or manager ! I stated politely I would like my order if not refund my payment ... he then hung up ! I rang him back another 3 times and he kept putting the phone down on me ! Shambles !!! I will never order from them again ... please avoid !

Admittedly we ordered on a Saturday night so you expect a longer delivery time but an hour and 40 mins is far too long. When it arrived it was covered in grease, parts were cold /congealed and the crispy beef in chilli sauce should be renamed burnt batter in chilli sauce. A lot of it went in the bin. We will not be ordering from again.

Have ordered on and off from hot wok for over a decade it's gradually got worse and worse. is now at the point where I won't order again . Quality is now so poor . Chicken satay. Last few times . Very spongy unusual texture and taste. Does leave me to wonder what meat it actually is . The fresh clean flavours . Well cooked quality food a distant memory from this once good takeaway.

Have ordered from here lots. Tonight's order was mixed bag. Duck pancake rolls were lovely , the beef Satay starter and beef curry were so chewee they hurt my teeth. I have strong teeth. Curry had strange taste, strong lingering taste of cloves. Don't think I'll be ordering from here again .

Having not used them for six months after previous poor service was persuaded to use them again. What a mistake. Waited at the counter whilst Chinese lady served a customer and her colleague was on the phone. Two people walked in after me as person on phone finished call. He immediately greeted the new arrivals with 'hello mate, let me get you order'. Seems he is happy to ignore those already there and ensure his friends take priority. Expressed my displeasure but he just ignored this, turned and walked into the kitchen.

Been using Hot wok for a long time always hot and nice food friendly staff and never ever had any problems I phone and order pick up my order in 10 to 15 mins and ready for me when I get there I read some of the reviews saying rude staff I have never had any staff there being rude to me always nice and friendly

Arrived cold, no prawns on the prawn toast which was also over cooked, chicken balls very doughy and tasted funny oil not fresh . All in all very disappointing for me.

I ordered food for delivery. Called up to say my delivery is late. And the bloke was like he's on his way now. 30 mins later it arrived. Cold. Phoned up straight away. For them to make up excuses and give abuse. Straight away I asked for a refund. They said they couldn't do it straight away as it was done through PayPal. Fine I can wait. But to phone up today for abuse over the phone. To be told f*** off ect. It's a joke. They need to learn how to speak to people. It's seems like im not the first person to be spoken to like this. I ordered a take away, never received my full order and when I rang to tell them, part of my order hadn’t been delivered, the man I spoke to was rude and didn’t even apologise. We have used this delivery service a couple of times recently and on both occasions the food was late and lukewarm. Won't be ordering again from this establishment in a hurry.

All ways friendly stuff in there some times we have to wait we ring fist but depends what time u go in some times it busy got a take away the other day they deliver it to as so it toke longer for it to come but If u go in there the have it ready for u there and then me and my family never had a problem there

I have had better takeaways. The staff were very friendly. I ordered over the phone, and it was waiting for me when I arrived. I didn't like the food very much but my children did.

Pretty average chinese, taste good and quick delivery however the scores on the door safety rating is pretty diabolical, I would eat from here again but if I was choosing I would find somewhere with a 5star rating, there are several other chinese takeaways around Bracknell with these.

What a complete waste of money! Food arrived 90mins later! Cold! There was sugar in my soup! (Suger or syrup in chicken and sweet corn soup?? YUK!!) My Thai curry was gloop and paste. There was chunks of Thai curry paste in the cold gloop. I had to add water and reheat! I'm NOT joking when I say this... GLOOP!! Then to add insult to injury... For a takeaway it is clean,fresh,and delivered promptly try the salt & pepper prawns!Ordered loads of times, I have always received my order complete and without fuss.

"Roast Pork" was actually just slices of REALLY fatty bacon, the food was delivered cold, so called prawn balls were in fact just balls of batter and this happened twice. Customer service is of a below average manner, whoever the guy was I spoke too was extremely rude. Will never order from here again and I stongly suggest making an order from an alternative Chinese take away.

It had been a couple of years since I'd ordered from hot wok, the food had always been good so seeing as they had an online facility to order I thought why not try them again. Being a Saturday night I was expecting the service to be slow but to my amazement it was speedy, friendly and attentive. The food was ready for collection within 15 mins and what we ordered tasted great. Needless to say I ended up with an empty plate and a full stomach. I would thoroughly recommend this takeaway and I will definitely be using it more frequently.

Very good quality takeaway, waiting time can be up to an hour when they are really busy. Which is only to be expected as the food is really good. Top tip- phone order through then collect it yourself saves waiting at the premises. Great service...when they are really busy home delivery service can be really slow, so I don't use this now, always phone through and collect myself,

Lovely staff who always recognise us and the food is perfect every time. We always collect so can't comment on delivery time etc but as service and food goes, I can't fault them.

Please don't order from here if you expect your food to be hot when it arrives!Told 40 mins at point of order, 1 hour later called to chase food, another 20 mins it finally arrived - with no apology! EVERYTHING was cold! Pork, chicken and prawn balls all completly dried out, seemed like they had been sitting around for days.Special fried rice - definitely nothing special there, and the prawns in it looked very questionable!Beef in oyster sauce and prawns with vegetables - completely tasteless - quite an accomplishment.Now I'm actually worried we might get ill from the food - watch this space.Overall we are are completely disappointed, will never use them again and strongly suggest you find a different takeaway.Definitely not worth wasting your money on!

Food was brilliant last night and very good portions, meal was still hot and not cold.Service is very good here and we very rarely have any issues.All portion sizes are excellent and put others to shame.

Used to be really impressed with Hot Wok. Used it today and was seriously disappointed. Duck looked and tasted as though it had died from old age. Singapore noodles were dry and wrong noodles used. Can't believe it's the same Take Away as I've used countless times before where food was really good. Won't go back again unless I hear things have improved.

Ordered duck pancakes chicken balls and special rice, firstly I dished this up for me my partner and daughter sat down to eat and very quickly realised it was freezing cold, then my daughter said to me mum my chicken is pink, so I broke up the chicken balls and the majority were not cooked! I phoned them and lady spoke first who tried to tell me it's not there fault then passed me to the manager when I wasn't satisfied, Denis the manager then told me to put food in the oven and cook/ re heat it, shocked I said u should re heat chicken and rice he said it's fine, but would re fund for the balls and rice ..... Personally I think should be refunded the lot! Any way I still haven't received my money back, so 20 quid wasted and a disappointed child! Will not be using again

Tried ordering from there on 2 occasions, first time it was over an hour and a half wait and the food was ok.Second, and of course the last time, I ordered it took approximately two hours. I rang up after an hour and they said it was just about to go in the car..Well nearly an hour later it finally arrived. It was only mildly warm, as you'd expect if it's been around the whole of Bracknell and Ascot.The staff were pretty rude when I was on the phone as well. Won't be bothering with this one again.

Ordered a take out on Saturday evening and was told there was an hour wait. An hour and 35 mins later it arrived, not even warm and it tasted average at best. Unfortunately this is not where this review ends. 6 hours later I was violently ill (I suspect from our prawn dish), 2 hours later, so was my husband - the following two days are lost through continued illness. Once better we rang to inform Hot Wok and make a formal complaint, we spoke to a member of staff who said the manager would call us back - that was two days ago.Please think twice before you order from here...

I placed an order at 8.15pm and it arrived just after 10.15pm. I was told when ordering that it would take an hour and a half to come but when it went over that time I rang up and the customer service was appalling!! I would expect that after such a long wait the food would taste amazing and at the very least would be lukewarm...Apparently Hot Wok cannot even manage that.

This is a great takeaway where you can see your food being prepared. Dennis and hIs crew are superb and offer good old fashioned customer service with a smile, it only takes an hour to get your order delivered..... If it's a really busy night it could take longer but they will always let you know expected delivery time. Of course if you are in a hurry then phone your order through and collect it yourself.... I don't understand some of the poor review here as Ive been using hot wok for years and have never had a bad experience I would say its one of the best takeaways around....

Excellent food from this Chinese takeaway and never a let down.Food is well prepared and very tasty. We have started using Hot Wok through various referrals from friends and family.Deliveries are normally within the hour depending how busy the Chinese is, good customer service from the staff.

Food is always bang on and service is great, as a regular I get greeted by name which is a small but lovely touch. It's not fast delivery but that's because they cook fresh and you can taste the difference.

Ordered online and took nearly an hour to deliver. On delivery they had sent four sauces instead of just the one. Checked and had been charged for four so called for a refund. 20 minutes later bearing in mind we had finished our food way before a guy turns up asking for the three sauces so he could reuse them on other orders! Unbelievable! So any of you out there beware the sauce you are getting may have been elsewhere before and reheated how many times! And more likely to give you an upset stomach at the end of it. I certainly will not be using them again.

I've been using Hot Wok for take away chinese for all of the 22 years I have lived in Ascot. I have seen the business grow hugely - Dennis was always on the counter but in recent years there have been additions to the team.I popped in with my partner for a chicken curry & King prawn chow mein last night with sides of plain rice spring roll & prawn crackers.Delicious but too much ....so have had some for lunch today ..yaycant recommend them highly enough

really crap tonight. this is the third bad one in a row - wont be using again. watery, generic, tasteless. chicken anaemic...whiter than white. lemon chicken that used to be crispy is dry and floppy. we ordered at 6.30pm - would expect them not to be crazy busy. some cold some warm. almost like they reheated last nights stuff .....wont be using again. going back to Haka

Meal - 05/02/2014Looking for a good Chinese in Bracknell thought I'd try this one - Had a glowing report from a friend. Had meal A1 for one person as was alone that evening - £8.50 gets you Kung Po and their house rice. A decent amount of food for the money, although I have paid less for a meal for 1.House rice was nice, the Kung Po was fresh but very heavy on the water chesnuts - Something I always think of as a bit of a packer for Chinese food.
