Absolutely horrendous, food arrived the noodles you could cut with a bread knife, egg fried rice was boiled plain rice. Curry sauce like dishwater, overcooked & undercooked items, avoid

We ordered online, the food came nice and hot and was good value for money. The portions are very generous as we have often had food from there. However, when our food got delivered by the driver he asked for a tip! I know it's Christmas but usually, in my book, it's nice to give a tip to the driver which should come unexpectedly but not to demand one at the door!

We ordered on Friday night and they surprised us when their usual slow delivery turned up really quickly (suspiciously quickly if you follow..). Within an hour of eating my wife started throwing up. This continued till 3AM. The whole next day she had stomach cramps and terrible diarrhea. I also suffered with diarrhea and worst of all our 2 1/2 year old has been projectile vomiting for 48 hours now and is severely dehydrated. Due to COVID we are not mixing with anyone else and are doubly careful bout hand washing and general hygiene so it had to be the food. If you wish to risk the health of your family then go ahead and eat from here. Serious food poisoning is not a joke.

Ordered online and had an estimated time for delivery in around an hour , I get that on a Saturday night but when it was late and I phoned for an update I was repeatedly lied to on its status . Told it had left for delivery and they couldn’t locate the driver, then they finally admitted my order hadn’t even been cooked!!! Ridiculous takeaway system that clearly can’t cope . Avoid this disappointing excuse for a Chinese delivery.

My mum and dad use this takeaway quite often. Now I understand why. The food is first class and with the kitchen in full view of customers you can see the chefs cook it for you. Some reviews have been critical of the service but it’s not really surprising as they are so busy. Ask yourself why they are so busy? I recommend you forgive them for any possible small misdemeanour and try them out. The food is genuinely good!

Been using the Hot Wok for takeaways for a good few years now and absolutely love them. Quality, value and quantity in the same package is rare

I ordered from here only because I was starving and wanted the duck with pancake, I mean you can't go wrong with that! I waited one hour before calling to ask how much longer my order would be, only to be told, 'I told you roughly one hour'. When I challenged the operative as to how long "roughly" an hour was, she said, 'five minutes, either side'. By this time u had already been on the call over the "roughly five minutes" so politely asked for a discount because the food was so late. I finally got £2 taken off my order! I will never order from here again.

I am absolutely disgusted at the customer service from this takeaway. Firstly, I called and place an order to a very abrupt and rude women. Within 4 minutes I called back to change one of the meals to which I was told that no it was too late as it was already cooked. Working in a restaurant myself I know that if the customer would like to change there order that they have every right. However, when I requested that the order got changed and I'd pay for the extra meal, I was answered with the most rude and disgusting response from the manager of the store, she didn't even give me time to apologise for the mix up or explain what had happened and then refused to deliver the food. The whole conversation she spoke over me and refused to listen and put the phone down on me. My mum was listening to this whole conversation got very upset and called back on my behalf to try to get some understanding from the manager I was speaking to. The women was very belittling to my mum and referred to me as a girl when I'm a 27 year old women, my mum was horrified. The women was very rude and then refused to speak to her anymore including about the refund for the order we place and then she ended the call. The customer service is vile and disgusting and I will no longer be ordering from here like I have multiple times before. I am in shock at how I was spoken to by the manager of the store.

Not really round the corner from Wood Green but defo worth the 15 min drive for me ... good is always ready by the time I get here...very helpful staff and food always been gr8, been ordering take away from here for the last 4 years and never had disappointment...

So decided to pop into the hot wok, 2 mins walk away from Archway tube station, after a long day of sightseeing - the Hot Wok isn't your typical Chinese dining experience with endless menus and overpriced drinks! This was a high end take away, with lovely tables and decor - with the option to eat in also. They sold beers and wine too, which was an added bonus - at reasonable prices. The menu was very simple in terms of the range of dishes available - consisting of some delicious dishes, my son had the sweet & sour chicken which was very nice. I had the mixed fried rice, again, very very tasty. Inside there is an open kitchen, where you can watch your food being prepared and I liked the selection of Chinese products you could purchase including ramen noodles, chilli oil, oyster sauce, soy sauce, all very handy if you're staying in a local self-catering accommodation!

We have ordered take-away from here a few times. The food has always arrived on time and no mistakes were made with our order. The lemon chicken and the sweet and sour chicken are tasty. Give them a try if you're ordering from here. We ordered the chicken in black bean sauce once but it was terrible. The taste wasn't too bad but the chicken (texture) was really bad, not sure what went wrong. Prices are in-line with other Chinese take-aways and so is the quality. Nothing special, but it's fine if you fancy Chinese delivered to your door.

After trying to order over the phone I was told my card didn't go through 3 times! We then hung up and called a different restaurant and placed an order through them who managed to take my card payment without any issues. 15 mins later food from hot wok turned up with 3 receipts to say money had been takes twice. I called the restaurant and spent 1hr trying to explain the mess. The customer service was dreadful and by far the worst experience I've ever had. I'm hoping I will be refunded the full amount as I paid twice at hot wok and once at the second place that we placed an order with. I will never order again and nor will my friends and family. Worst customer service ever!!! The manger was so rude and couldn't understand why I was so upset and angry. She never once took responsibility

We tried about 6 dishes, all vegetarian. It was fine, quick but average take away standard, but everything was very oily, almost off-puttingly so. A couple of the dishes tasted a bit fishy, as though they had been made in a wok that had previously had fish/oyster sauce in it maybe?That said the portions were very large.

For avoidance of doubt, this review refers to Hot Wok in Winchmore Hill. Invariably deliver only part of the order. Really amateur outfit. Make Won Kei's look like the Savoy in terms of customer service. Don't bother. You'd be better off getting a Sainsburys or M&S Chinese. That way you're at least likely to get what you ordered rather than what they feel like delivering.

I use this as my local Chinese home delivery , when I fancy a bit of Chinese delivered to my home for a lazy night in front of the box.I am sorry to say that my last few meals have been extreemly poor , the quality has declined so much that this is now off the list , I shall not be spending another penny with this takeout.Why is is so difficult to keep up the standards and why so difficult to find a good local Chinese takeaway or restuarant ?Chewy meat , thin sauces , weak, chillis with every dish in a poor attempt to get some taste into their food ......yuck !The staff taking orders are abrupt, rude and really have trouble understanding orders given in English my Mandarin is very poor !!Take my advice give this a wide berth try another local home delivery from another operator who cook really nice food, a bit expensive in my opinion but good eating Kampung Winchmore Hill see my recent review.

This local Chinese cooks up really good traditional Cantonese style dishes and I recommend it when you fancy putting your feet up with a bit of Chinese for that night in front of the TV.The food is delivered fast, in good quality containers, nice and hot.My only critique is that why is Chinese getting now getting so expensive, and this is no exception,it's only a bit of fast food, served in containers.I ordered the other night for 4 persons, three tasty soups, some ribs small portion, chicken in black bean, schezuin king prawns,beef salt and pepper,pork sweet n sour, all excellent dishes some poor plain rice and spicy noodles, all delivered piping hot......price £50 ! so only £12 per person, but this is takeaway.Portion size is good but to get a nice variation you need to order a main course each with all the bits and pieces.Try this Hot Wok out my fellow foodies , be careful how you order the dishes as they rack up in price fast, I have used this delivery service many times and actually have never had a bad meal, in fact it's alays been good to very good.One of Lord Webbs recommended hang outs.
