Hot Wok in Leeds

Having used the Hot Wok in the past, my most recent visit to this take-away did not impress. Shrimp Fried Rice was acceptable for both quality and quantity, but the extra Curry Sauce was bland and tasteless. The Chicken in Black Bean with Green Peppers (an old favourite) left a lot to be desired. Having had this dish many times, this offering was the worst I have had. The chicken was rubbery, and the black bean sauce was of a consistency that I have never experienced before. Add to this the price increase on all dishes, and the revised delivery (shrunken) radius that incurred an extra charge. Thankfully the Prawn Crackers were passable. Will not be using the Hot Wok again

Terrible . Threw most of it away . Tasteless rubbish . Not tried this place in a long time and it’s not got any better . Don’t do many takeaways thankfully if they’re this bad

This is the first time I have ever put a review on, but my experience has been so bad I just had to do it. I ordered a mix starter. A pork and duck main and a Chicken and mushroom main It took an hour and a half to come. When it did arrive It was all cold. I sampled each starter but couldn’t even chew it. It was like rubber. The pork was so hard and dry it just crumbled when I tried to cut it. The chicken was cold tasteless and gooey the mushrooms like rubber. It cost £31. The whole lot went in the bin totally inedible it I could give it a minus I would have done. Absolutely awful.

Ordered takeaway for two costing £31.00 despite two foiiow up calls it arrived 50 minutes late, and it was barely warm. The chicken was slimy and the pork was hard to cut, almost whole meal went into the waste bin. First time and last time for Hot Wok.

Really gone down hill. Food was over cooked, dry and tasteless.

We had salt and pepper spare ribs which was really over cooked no meat on them and only had about 6 bits

So last came here a fue years back working away from home was nice food and service. Well service was good but the food was just bland. Bbq sauce does not taste like bbq sauce... crispy shredded beef in okay sauce. Well that was a shame no flavour apart from a strong onion taste.... fried rice was very sticky like it had just been made today an was not very tasty... then soft noodles was okay but again too many onions and hardly and bean spouts...... so from when I last visited and really enjoyed it now highly disappointed. But will say tho the girl who served me was very polite.

I LOVE HOT WOK BEST CHINESE ITS NEVER COLD AND IT TASTES BANGING. the chips are lovely i once ordered them 4 times in a week 😂 and the sweet and sour chicken is too good

Took 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive.phoned twice and said it's on way!!!! Arrived.and was very cold threw it all away.asked if it will arrive warm but was fobbed off it was cold.avoid

Ordered a beef and chicken with mushrooms , got 2 pieces of chicken very small and 2 pieces of beef, the plate was all onion and the taste was burnt , wont order again

Beautiful food. Always struggle to find a nice Chinese but this is some of the best food I've tasted

Ordered new salt and pepper box for 2 we was out of delivery radius but he took the time off to bring us it anyway arrived hot and fresh best Chinese we’ve had in ages Thankyou again!

Ordered from here last night, cost nearly £40 for a ton of disgusting food. Crispy duck that looked & tasted like it had been eaten, threw back up & reused! Sloppy, fatty junk. The chips were terrible & looked like they'd been reheated many times! The rice dishes & curry were awful too! I WILL NOT BE EATING HERE AGAIN! We have all been sick this morning, AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

salt and pepper box for 2 £17.80 so bad put in bin every thing just chuck in a pizza box and salt put on top!! all the food over cooked and dry new menu posted few letterbox on Saturday put in bin Sunday not good!

Ordered food to be delivered tonight. Queried £2 delivery charge as we are less than three miles. Was told petrol prices had gone up and there was 10p charge for carrier bag. Price still was over but hey ho. £8 starter. Burnt prawn toastiest. Burnt spare ribs. Threw rest away. Special fried rice consisted of loads of dried out beef and stodgy clumped rice. Curry sauce dark brown and so thick and gloopy and tasted awful! Ended up in bin! £21.10 down drain. Had home made bread instead. Menu torn up and definitely won’t be buying from there again !

I recently ordered to collect. The food was decent quality, although a little expensive. It's also Cash only.

Arrived in person to make an order and the girl behind the counter kept interrupting me to take orders on the phone. Rude as anything, walked out.

This has been our go to Chinese for almost 8 years now! We love it but the last two times we have ordered we have sat waiting for over 2 hours for the food to arrive with no guidance from them that we’d be waiting this long! First time we waited it out and the food was almost cold when we got it, this time we called and cancelled and there was no apology or anything. I’m so sad as the food is amazing. If only they had warned us there would be a long wait we’d have been able to make our decision.

My favourite Chinese takeaway. Prices have gone up though and they are so busy at the moment, so I don't think the foods as good as usual but still good

Good food,brill delivery however ginger lass at front was giving me lip for asking about the types of duck compared to the chicken selections. Good takeaway but watch out for the ginger menace.

Has amazing service. Possibly the best Chinese I’ve been too. Feel like home when I walk in; all the workers are so friendly and lovely . Would definitely recommend to go to if you haven’t already!! You will never be disappointed

mostly a greesey mess. spring rolls were tasteless, and the crispy beef isn't crispy. i wont be going back.

Truly terrible, all of the chicken beef and pork dishes are made using frozen stock similar to what you buy at Iceland, same goes for the prawn toast, the won tons and the spring rolls. Almost none of the menu is cooked fresh, you can order pretty much anything for collection and be told 5 minutes. Avoid this place and avoid the mucky star 50 yards down the road too....dont buy takeaways in woodlesford.

Don't know wether this place has changed hands / under new ownership, but since the early part of this year the food has been disgusting and that's putting it mildly. Chips are rock solid like they have been re-cooked a million times, the large crispy pancake rolls were saturated in oil yet still partly frozen in the middle. Also found black hairs in the sweet and sour chicken. The list goes on. The food is soo bad I'd hate to think what the state of their kitchen is like. The place needs shutting down

Just ordered singapore vermiceli and spare ribs however they got the order wrong instead of ribs they sent beef in black bean sauce we rang and told them they wouldn't correct it without charging us very rude and also the vermiceli was dry and had hardly any meat in it. AVOID

Usually really nice. But this order the chips were hard as if they had been refried, not nice! The curry sauce quite tasteless. The fried rice dish was ok. Come on hot wok, you used to be spot on!

Absolutely disgusting ordered a big order and food came after around 20 minutes was freezing cold. When i called to disguss this matter they said nothing could be done about it !!!! I told them i wanted a refund and they put the phone down on me, then when i called back they left me on hold, i then called again and they answered and left me on the phone without talking and taking other peoples orders. I took all the food back to the shop for them to start saying i previously cancelled orders and not turned up for orders which is a load of rubbish. I eventually got a refund but will NEVER EVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN !!!!!!!!! DISGUSTING FOOD AND DISGUSTING PEOPLE !!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered at 17.55 came at 18.20 live a mile away.. food was flat cold and tasteless. Very disappointed

Food cold when it arrived (live only 1.5 mile away) kung po supposed to be hot & spicy however really watery and didnt taste anything like its supposed to. Very disapointed.
