Fantastic food your very welcome very friendly service 10 out of 10

We popped in of an afternoon on a sunday for a cob and a pint! Atmosphere great and lovely people! Just to note cobs are cash only so we had to rummage around the car for change! Great local! Also great with kids i have a 4 year old and a 4 month old and couple of the locals ended up giving my eldest a £1 for the sweet machine as we had used all our change for cobs!! Very sweet and lovely people! 1000% recommended!

For some reason I appear blocked from the Facebook page of this establishment simply for asking a question to a strangely worded post they put up yesterday (20th Feb) The post stated other local pubs were copying their posts so I asked how/why E.G stealing acts or word for word as I couldn’t figure out what they meant as other local pubs appear to have their own things going on from what I can see on my follow list. My first post got deleted (thought it was a glitch on my phone) so I reposted and screenshot it. Next thing I realised when checking the page today was that I can no longer find the page which a friend tells me it means I’m blocked as they can see the page fine but not my comment. Very shocked at this behaviour, I’ve got severe anxiety when visiting new pubs and having been here just before Xmas for the first time, I shall not be returning due to how this has made me feel. I have attached my “offensive” comment so judge for yourself who is in the wrong. I will also be getting in touch with the brewery/landlord of this place as this doesn’t help my mental health in the slightest.

A wonderful bar, always something happening here. Very tastefully decorated throughout. The food is great & well prepared and presented. If you in the area, check out the live music or join in with the karaoke. Brilliant atmosphere & always a warm welcome.

Proper community pub, owners and staff are really friendly. Good beers and cobs are great.

Some good beers available including a choice of 2 real ales, the Marsdons Old Empire was particularly good as rated by a connoisseur CaMRA life member.

Had my daughters 18th party here on Saturday we had a lovely little side room for food and we could arrange the room and decorate as we wished everyone was so lovely and the entertainment was brilliant with a lovely party atmosphere had an amazing time thank you 😊

My niece and I visited horse and jockey yesterday for sunday lunch.....the meal was excellent... very tasty.....lovely gravy lol....very good service will definitely go there again.....

Went here for a family get together. Very nice atmosphere, Had a good sing song on the karaoke. Can't comment on food as we had a buffet that we brought Friendly bar staff, (might need the polyfiller after all for the dart board 👀) Great night old school pub

Been using the Horse and Jockey for around six years now it's always been a good friendly and welcoming place to be, good food, great staff, lovely atmosphere, free room hire for parties, wakes, etc, we've made some lovely friends here over the years, always something going on, kareoke on Fridays, disco Saturdays and always a Singer on Sunday evening, it's our most go to pub and hope to keep doing so for many more years to come.

This is the best pub in West Brom fact such a great atmosphere every weekend It never disappoints at all the staff are so friendly. Anyone not coming is missing out oh and try Trish’s food it’s the best -her chips am amazing

I have recently started to re-visit this superb pub ,amazing food and value for money. Entertainment on weekends include Karaoke ,live bands and singers Will and Sally make everyone feel like a local so come and join the fun!!!!!

Smashing pub, hadnt been in here for many years and sadly i was there after a funeral. But sadness aside it was a welcoming place, with friendly staff and excellent service.

The best local pub in West Bromwich in my opinion, lovely atmosphere full of lovely people the landlord and landlady are the loveliest people you will meet happy to help in anyway. Had a great Saturday night recently with my girl friends, celebrating a birthday. Atmosphere was lovely, great songs played and dancing, with the karaoke too. Prices were decent. Staff all friendly. Lots of 'regulars' but we all felt very welcome. NB: Didn't have any food but had to enter something so that's why it shows as one star for this

I popped in early in the afternoon on a weekday so it was nice and fairly quiet how I like it. I had a lovely couple of pints from an ok selection of beer. The service was great and welcoming. I didn't have anything to eat so I can't comment on that, but everything else was good.

A rare afternoon out with hubby and friend. A couple of pints and some cheese cobs. They even changed the tv over for us to final score as no one was watching the chase! Nice atmosphere

This pub sponsors our football team and every Saturday without fail they always put on a spread for us for after the game. Staff always friendly and welcoming. They help with all our fundraising events to do with the club. They even let me return after my terrible singing on kareoke. Top class 👌

This is my favourite local pub great atmosphere and superb management, food is great cooked by trish, Sunday dinners are a must book so your not disappointed. Simon and deb are great owners of the pub many fab wkends spent with friends and family great music karaoke and live singers. Family friendly pub 💜

Went in for Sunday lunch last week which was really nice and fresh, and then ended up staying for the rest of the day to listen to the singer and watch the match - lovely atmosphere - they have entertainment on every Sunday so we will be back again next week

Very friendly atmosphere, the staff are very welcoming. They do a lot for charity and the local community, helping people out during these hard times. In December they are offering free tea and coffee, to join them watching tv for people concerned about the cost of heating. Wonderful gesture from a caring team.

Nice pub which has a bar and lounge that are connected and served by a central bar area. 2 real ales (Old Empire and Wainwright's) in addition to the usual fare. Staff are polite and friendly and the toilets are clean and tidy. Cobs, crisps and bread for and butter pudding are available as snacks.

Love this pub excellent staff and I absolutely love the atmosphere definitely pop in for a pint and a chat because the people here are worth their weight in gold. The people who own the pub are absolutely the most friendly people as well love those two to pieces. The food is a crowing gem please definitely stop in and try Trishes food as its the best home cooked food in the area I can guarantee that.
