Visited this takeaway on 28/12/22. Ordered 3 lamb and chicken kebabs with chips. So wish I hadn't bothered. Salad was non-existent and old and to top it off I was overcharged by £5. When challenged on the overcharge the server spoke in a different language and walked away leaving someone else to complete my order. Never using this takeaway again and strongly advise people to boycott - food not worth the money 😒

Very disappointed with the service. Waited ages for my food and then at the end I was short changed.

You can tell by the size of the queue that this is a great establishment. Amazing to watch the guys smash through order after order and keep a track of the phone orders (constantly ringing) and walk-ups. Food is great, substantial and well priced.

Lovely kebabs but past few times the chips are a mixture of fresh chips and re-heated chips. This time more re-heated chips then fresh and ended up throwing them away. Far too hard and crispy. Prices are quite high and would expect fresh chips Every time

Advertised as open till 12pm but closer when I arrived. I went out of my way so it more than frustrating

Used to come here all the time, got home and they had got the order wrong so had to go all the way back, came home again and no sauce on chips or in the bag. What happened to my favourite take away! Even when it was crowded and super busy they used to get the orders right! Think I’ll leave it for a while before I come back :(

Freshly prepared food. They can get very busy over the weekend but they do there best for there customers. Excellent service, kind,helpful service. Highly recommend.

Best Sheesh, doner and chips. This place is better than all the kebab shops local Including oh my cod (gone down hill)

Popped in for a late night snack as we were staying in the area. Chips were fresh, crisp and plentiful. Good value.

The kebabs are simply the absolute best! You can’t beat them no matter where you go. The chicken kebabs are moist, the lamb is tender & full of flavour & all salad accomplishments are fresh & crispy. Chips are lovely & crispy

This title is not an understatement. Its no surprise that this place has a stream of people collecting and ordering food any time you visit. The food is always fresh, super tasty and cooked perfectly. Its worth ordering a large kebab as its just as good the next day!

We absolutely live this place. Food is always super tasty and fresh. Staff are rushed off their feet even though there are so many people on shift at busy times. As it's so popular it's advisable to call your order in about 20 mins before you collect other wise you will have a bit of a wait on busy nights (Fri and sat). Down side is it's a cash only establishment. But there is a cash machine right next door or just outside the post office so it's not too bad!

Amazing as always , only place my husband will eat doner kebab. Have been using this takeaway for years and never lets us down

Love the chicken kebabs from this takeaway ! Always so fresh, chicken is gorgeous, good portion of fresh salad. Everything is freshly cooked when ordered, burgers, pizza, kebabs. Never had a bad meal ! Gets very busy, always best to call to order, do not deliver.

Hemos estado usando este kebab house durante más de 10 años, que ha volado wow cómo. La calidad de la comida y el nivel de la cocina son insuperables son suculentas carnes y todas las ensaladas frescas y jugosas y crujientes las patatas fritas calientes.

Hands down this is the best kebab shop in hornchurch, food always tastes amazing is cooked fresh and the service is quick

The queue was a good indicator as to the locals love of this place. Enjoyed watching the process they used to manage the long list of orders And once I got my chicken shish I understand why, tasty and fresh.

Went here Saturday the 8th of April at about midnight to get a cheeky kebab with the mrs . Big mistake ! Ten minutes after polishing it off I was throwing up everywhere , this continued till 11 am the next morning with violent trots...

Pedimos gran orden por teléfono y primero de todo eran groseros en el teléfono y 2 en el orden equivocado y cuando me llamó para decirles que era muy grosero. He usado este lugar muchas veces antes y esta vez me quedé muy decepcionado

Normalmente este lugar es bastante decente. No la mejor, ya que algunos están diciendo ya que es Essex Parrilla en St Marys Lance en Upminster. De todos modos pedí un combo de kebabs de cordero y cordero kofte doner. Estaba increíblemente salados y encontré 3 pelos en ella, así que tuve que bin. Que es algo que nunca hago con comida!

I have used this takeaway for years nothing beats it in this area,apart from a few new resterauts that have opened sevreing turkish food.

Absolutely delicious as always!!! nice guys aswell. when I'm out of town as I work all over the country I really do appreciate their food in in comparison with other kebab shops chicken and lamb mixed shish is on another level

I've been going to this place for about 8 years. I normally order the chicken shish and lamb kofte combination, which is the best I've had anywhere. If you don't want to wait make sure you phone in advance and add ten minutes minutes to the time they say. The shop is always very busy which speaks volumes. Well done boys keep up the good work.

Fantastic kebabs and the pizza is pretty good too. Excellent service but you may have to wait a bit as this place is always so busy.

Their kebabs are the best around, without a doubt. If you can, phone & order, then add five minutes on to the time they give you! Worth the wait though.

The food here is good. I usually get a doner or shish kebab and it's usually very nice, and as others have said, is freshly made. Prices have gone up quite a lot in the last few years though. Why have I only given 3 stars? Because 4 times in the last 4 months the staff have tried to rip me off. Once or twice, fine, but 4 times?What bugs me most is that their food prices are clearly laid out behind them AND they use a register to add up your food bill. Yet somehow the bill is wrong by 40 or 50p. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I imagine if this has happened to me multiple times, then it has happened to others too. Have decided to not come back because of this.

Been using this takeaway for several years now & although the food is superb the service is absolutely shocking & seems to be getting worse!!! No matter wether you phone up & place an order or walk in & place an order they still manage to nause it up. Recently phoned up & placed an order was told it would be 20mins so after a 20min wait decided to drive up & food would be waiting for me, a further 40mins went by before I eventually got food & twice had repeat the order. So what was the point in originally phoning up after all that they still got the food wrong!!! ALSO A MAJOR CONCERN IS WHY IS RAW MEAT PLACED ON THE TOP OF COOKED MEAT ON THE GRILL SURELY THIS A HEALTH HAZARD. There are better kebab shops I suggest Kervansaray in Gidea Park

Have used this kebab shop for 8+ years and the food has always been nice.However the guy that takes the phone orders needs to be removed before there are no customers left! We all have off days, but on two separate occasions, I was spoken to so rudely, and for this reason I will not return!

X large Chicken shish seems smaller than before shop refit. Chicken felt like it was defrosted and some bits undercooked on two different occasions - didn't feel healthy. I know you get busy but maybe you should invest in another grill!! It's not good practice to put chicken on top of other chicken to cook. Finally, have to agree that they have rude telephone manner especially if you inquiry about prices , they get all stressed out!! We are going to give this place a miss for a few months and hopefully they will get themselves sorted out.

Tried ordering 4 kebabs on phone Friday night. Never been spoken so rudely to. Last time I order from there we have been customers for year. Their Loss

I am ashamed for being there. That was my first experience in my life. 5 minutes after placing the order I asked them whether they can make my order faster as I am running late for my shift they replied "you should wait for 15 minutes and I can't give somebody's food", and they get the payment. After 10 minutes wait I saw he serving the customer after me when I questioned him he threw my money to me and ask me to go out

Need to watch them each time as always mess it up!!! Either the sauce is not added, or put on when not required.

After avoiding this place as i felt it went downhill i decided to try it again, all i can say is it is back up there and they are back to where they were before....Had two chicken shish and they were both gorgous, well done lads....

I'm a regular customer at charcoal and always enjoy the food. My usual is meat and chips which is always lovely! Staff are extremely friendly and always make sure everything is just right. Definitely recommend

Love the kebabs from the charcoal grill! Everything is made fresh to order, staff couldn’t be nicer and on Saturday night at 7pm the queue was out the door with the phone also constantly ringing for people to place their orders as well! Just shows the quality of the place to be consistently busy as it always is. Also does burgers, pizzas, chicken, scampi etc so something for everyone. Definitely worth a try!

This was a very expensive grilled chicken kebab. The meat was rough like the service. Shame because I am near to this place but refuse to eat there again

The food is lovely,but too many behind counter every time lately they mess the order up ,get dinner home to find something missing ,sauces on the wrong thing.get your act together please.

From the outside looking in, it looks like any other kebab house, on any UK high street. However, the devil is in the detail with this kebab house, and they never fail to deliver.The sheer number of kebab skewers and the queues of people at 6.30pm (yes 6.30 pm not 11.30 pm) shows the class of the food on offer.The staff are polite, professional and efficient. I cannot recommend this place enough, and if you love your Shish, you will not be disappointed.

We have the occasional chicken kebab from here and have to say always enjoyable but....the last time we had one I had nearly got to the end of my meal and I found a black hair in my salad and I nearly threw up so....I unfortunately will never be eating from here again....which is a shame

The food is all freshly made in front of you , the ingredients are second to none. I was staying in the hotel over the road & after a few drinks fancied a bite to eat & I've got to say I was massively impressed by this place. The staff serve people immediately & are also very friendly & helpful. The menu is excellent & the locals seem to love the place. Top food guys keep up the good work!

I am a regular visitor to the Charcoal Grill, they are the best kebab shop within 10 miles, fresh food, well flavoured and cooked whilst you wait. You can tell how popular it is with the locals when you see the queues. !

Probably the best pizza and kebab take away in hornchurch. Always busy but staff always polite. Even if you don't eat kebabs try the pizza, made freshly in front of you.

We use Charcoal Grill all the time and have never had a bad experience, recommended to me by my brother in 2010 and i have never looked backVery proffessionl, friendly and quick (Normally 15-20 min on a phone order)They don't deliver which is a shame but dont let that put you off - their Chicken & Lamb Kofte combination is amazing!Kepp up the good work guys - a great place to order and eat from!

Fantastic, tasty food and really good prices, these guys are the best in essex i think and definitely the best place in hornchurch.Always helpful and go out of their way to accomodate any request

Been using this take away since 1989, last 6 months food has gone downhill, i eat from here at least once a week and they never get my order right. Shame to say they need to up the game, so many other eating places to choose from no.....and most do home Delivery.....get back up there chaps.

This place is always packed the Kebabs are tasty and huge. Friday nights are so busy and you do have to wait but it is worth it,

These kebabs are the best I have ever had. The Chicken Shish is moist and flavoursome - but my personal favourite is the Chicken Mix (chicken, lamb and kofta) with salad and chilli source. The salad is always really fresh too. If you've not been here you really must try this kebab shop!!!!

We will only get kebabs from here, yes the shops always busy but that speaks for itself. We live in Dagenham and drive down just for a kebab they really are that good :-) staff are so friendly and helpful.Meat is always excellent, salad fresh, big thumbs up from us

Been here over ten times now and always had excellent food and service, not the cheapest around but makes up for it in quality.

The food is excellent; tastes fantastic every single time, whether you have the lamb shish, kofta or chicken, they're all great and of course, freshly cooked. You get tons of fresh salad. All in all, the best kebab on earth.

i usually get a lamb shish, even the small is really large, i odn't know what they put on their meat in there, but it makes it the best tasting lamb shish ever.If you can, try to ring ahead, cos its the busiest kebab i've ever known.
