Horizons Restaurant in Fife

Had a beautiful meal with very friendly and attentive staff. My only criticism is that it's a big overpriced, but the food portions were quite large, not quite USA sized, but more than enough pet person. Gorgeous view out across the forth from most tables. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible.

Must be good I was there 2 Saturday running

I experienced the most unprofessional and mean customer service at this place. The bar has no official closing time and they dont display their official policy and randomly close whenever staffs wish. At 10 pm we went there and they declined to serve us drinks. Official hour of closing is 11pm but on duty staff and supervisor decided to close it early as per their convenience. They also show racial discomfort as we are color people. It was obvious from their behavior and conversation that they are not happy to serve color people. This is very humiliating.

We had a very unpleasant experience with two staff members who displayed a lack of interest in serving me, my sister and our family. Additionally, they made racist comments implying that we were unfamiliar with 'Scottish' rules. Both the duty manager and the bartender made us feel extremely unwelcome, and we strongly suspect that their behavior was influenced by the color of our skin.

We couldn't eat because we hadn't made a reservation. If we had been a customer of the hotel, they would have apparently found a solution. As a customer of the campsite where we pay £33 for virtually no service, you don't count

Absolutely loved this restaurant, the views are spectacular, staff super friendly and the food excellent.

The food was very good and the service very friendly. Although the restaurant is open until 9:30 p.m., we did not receive any food at 8:15 p.m. the day before, as the chef had already switched off the fire. That shouldn't happen.

Baked potatoe was undercooked and lukewarm, kids meal was macaroni with grated cheese microwave over it making piping hot and a bit too hot unsafe for kids, not a pleasant eating experience for us

Lovely friendly staff a nice relaxed atmosphere with a great view of the forth estuary to enjoy while you eat. The food was spectacular the only thing I could pick on is the lack of a sweet potatoe alternative for chips, a minor point on the basis of preference. Everything was perfectly prepared in generous portions and the pastry that contained the chicken and ham pie of the week was the perfect combination of buttery and flakey to compliment the meaty filling in both flavour and texture. I have every intention of returning for another taste

Went on a date night with my partner and after telling the waiting staff I had a severe allergy to mushrooms my steak then got sent out with mushrooms on and when I asked for it to be sent back the y send a new plate out 30seconds later with the same thing from the last plate they just removed the mushrooms. After explaining that was unacceptable they then said they would cook me a fresh steak which came out raw. I refused to eat anything and left the restaurant and went to McDonald's

Lovely venue, and food is tasty and we'll presented staff are, friendly and helpful. Views out of the restaurant are so nice to look out of while having your meal. Would recommend

Spectacular views good choice from menus reasonably priced well cooked and presented served by freindly hard working staff

Twice I’ve been and twice they’ve tried to lose my business. First time almost turned me away on Mother’s Day because restaurant was fully booked, but before I left, 20 seconds into a conversation they managed to tell me I eat what you waiting for? It wa teeth, almost walked away. Second time today, Easter. Sunday, they don’t serve regular folk until 10am once the hotel guests have been fed. Well I’m a caravaning guest and felt unwanted so you’ll unlikely see me again in your restaurant/bar. Maybe I haven’t been clear considering the owner’s response. The staff were allowing me to walk out the first time because they were not “on it enough or aware enough” to tell me I could have a table in the bar. The second time, and this is very peculiar, they only serve hotel guests until 10am even if you’re staying at the caravan site. You can try to justify that as much as you like with replies but it just doesn’t make sense and is a severe lack of a basic amenity at this sort of resort.

Great service, really quick. Breaded haddock and chips were a bit dry but apple pie was delicious. Cocktail was a too strong but probably for the best. Overall, it was too expensive and I probably won’t be back.

Beautiful food and the staff are friendly and very knowable about the food and drink they are serving, we have been here many times when passing through the area and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

A busy popular place, with great views. Really outstanding staff - pleasant, on the ball, and great teamwork. Good drinks. Food is standard Scottish pub options, but well executed.

Lovely Split Pea Soup but the Steak Pie and homemade chunky Chips is one of the best I've had mmmm

Excellent staff, well presented meals, good portions and nice environment. However, the food was bland and lacked taste. Starters were good, as was the salad, but I suspect the mains (meat and fish) are bulk and frozen / reheated.

First time to the restaurant loved it and would definitely recommend 👌

We were a party of 4 who wanted a good catch up over a leisurely meal and drinks. Our waitress Leah was superb. Food was plentiful and very nice. I am very fussy with my steak pie, but this was wonderful. Pastry looked a bit pale, but was crisp and tasty. Meat was succulent and well flavoured. Friends had stornoway black pudding, fish and chips, tuna salad and a pasta dish. All were excellent and enjoyed by the recipient. We also had teas, coffees and drinks and stayed for about 5 hours in total and as it was quiet, we were not hassled to move. Beautiful views. Definitely would recommend.

What a disappointing evening, I can't think of anything good to say, food and service was terrible, been going for year's this is our 2nd and last bad experience.

5 star restaurant with very good staff and food with a super view

Nice enough stay in the hotel but the restaurant was definitely understaffed. Hard to get service and everyone seemed exhausted. Lots of tables waiting for service and in the end just walking to the bar to pay. Food was nice though and friendly enough staff.

Possibly the worst service I've ever experienced in over 9 years that I've spent in Scotland. I'm sure I'll never be back here. If you're looking for the rudest staff, that's the place to be!

We stayed at the hotel food was lovely decent portion for a decent price the vews were stunning I would recommend it even if you are just driving past.

Overall service and food tasty, staff excelent. Can't fault location. Here is the but, i would like to give a 4 rating but the food was basically pub grub, the usual starters and mains bought from any wholesale caterers, fish and chips, stake pie, etc. Not a gastric experience.

Usually aa really nice friendly experience, definitely not on Saturday. Girl on the door (long red hair)rude and abrupt. We come most weeks to swim and have breakfast . We will not be back again . Shame as you lose money from us . Pool in future then elsewhere for breakfast..

Food was fabulous all round, everyone was happy with their choices. Shame about the waitress though. She was so grumpy and rude!! An older woman, maybe late 50's. We should have complained about her attitude but I think we were all kind of shocked at how awful she was...hospitality has no place for moody, grumpy customer facing staff. Rest of the staff were pleasant and polite but the place definitely lacks atmosphere and the staff don't give the impression they love or even enjoy their work. Shame because it's a nice place with an amazing view.

Had a very enjoyable family stay in PettyCur Bay Caravan Park on the outskirts of Kinghorn. Although quiet due to the virus pandemic, there was still plenty to keep us busy and happy. On out last night, we decided to have a family meal at the Horizon restaurant on site. The service (considering the current restrictions in place) was of a very high standard. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The meals were first class including the kids meal. The price of drinks were on par with other establishments in the area. Definitely a restaurant we will be returning to in the future. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
