£34 to park here as a HGV…. That’s without a meal voucher, let alone having to walk about 20 miles to the main services. Are you taking the mick?

I've bought a family bucket at KFC and when I tried it I realised it have a very bad smell and then I saw that the chicken was green on the inside I suggest you don't come here to eat also I want to the till and the manager said that it all smells the same because I wanted to change it for another one

Stop here regularly. Not a bad site and does what it should. The Only down side is probably too many electric chargers take up a lot if space...bit thatscwhere were going.

Considering the cost you'd think the food would be cooked to order. My burger & onion rings tasted anything but... accessible toilets were only ok. Overall disappointing 😞

May recommend Big carparks, clean place

The services had a light, airy, modern feel. There was Waitrose so a chance to get reasonable food. Starbucks coffee is terrible so I didn't bother with a coffee. The was one CHAdeMO charger available without waiting but the charge rate was slow.

Service station spot on KFC I would avoid at all costs they don’t honour the deals on the self order machines charged me for the upgrades but refused to give them to me as they said it wasn’t an offer they do yet these were on the self order machines

Rating for EV drivers. The EV charging is Applegreen which is the best I have found. Don't use the grid serve which is a lot slower

Worst ever experience at a motorway service station🤬🤬🤬COMPLETE and UTTER CHAOS Don’t use this place unless you have hours to waste 🤬🤬🤬pulled in for a quick loo stop & an hour later still on the car park being harassed by Tesla drivers trying to access charging points. This place really needs to get organised & warn people to prepare for extensive delays. This was not a motorists “Service” area it was a charging point for electric vehicles. This experience certainly confirmed to me that this country is far from ready to become 💯 electric. Avoid this place at all costs.

Absolute chaos, cars stopping with owners relieving themselves in full view of queuing traffic. Disgusting.

Very quiet when I visited. No queues at any of the food outlets. Very clean

Manager ruined this place by not allowing his night shift staff to accept fuel cards through night pay window, when I asked staff why rule is in place staff had no explanation and was complaining how they use to get punished by Manager for taking fuel card this way… Use to fill up truck 5 nights in a week, not supporting this kind of Manager behaviour and taking my business elsewhere.

Extortionate fuel prices, nothing special

Been here a few times now, this time was a bit dirty with leaves etc, could do with someone and one of those large brushes to keep it clean, busy as always and same with the food

Much needed recent upgrades to the toilets here has made our regular visits when head to the west country, more enjoyable but sadly those that want to cause disruption will do and soiled wc floors was not ideal on our last visit.

Convenient services with Starbucks WH Smith’s and Waitrose. Everything I need!

Very busy very popular good location for coach tours to stop off about 10 spaces close to building also good for Lorry’s they have multiple food outlets and even though extremely busy you won’t wait for too long great clean modern toilets excellent location for jumping back on route or is that en route 😄 worthy of a stop so you can refresh yourself

A better MSA, not great or the best but better than many. Lighter and airy so you can almost but not quite relax!

Does what it says on can. Clean, can get food, drink and shop f snacks, sweets books etc. Toilets good too. Convenient for a quick rest to break journey

Like most motorway services, grossly overpriced

It's a Starbucks service station on the M42. The good: changing places and inclusive toilets (could do with more though). Fairly level access in from the car park. The bad: it's a Starbucks outlet so there's no choice. Either go to the Starbucks in the middle or one of the machines producing pretty much the same bland offerings. There are other franchises like Subway, Burger King and the like all selling their junk food. The ugly: Gridserve have taken accessible parking bays and turned them into inaccessible charging bays. There are other chargers including loads of Tesla (not open to all makes) around the site but the ones by the door should still be accessible. It's almost as though Gridserve think that disabled people don't need accessible bays or shouldn't drive EVs. I didn't see one wheelchair accessible charging bay at the whole site.

Perfectly adequate services with better than average toilets though the wait for a Burger King was agonising. I miss fast food being fast.

Driven up from London and stopped to get something to drink and finish off some work on the lap top. Stayed for two and half hours and now been fined £60 Will never use another Welcome Break if they are going to charge to park as well as sell me over priced food and drink!

I stopped here because a longer journey than planned made me need to pop in for a top up or fill up. The price of the E5 fuel was EYEWATERING. EXTRAORDINARY! Over 30p a litre more expensive than my planned stop. I was on vapours so I put two litres in and made it the next few miles to TESCO M42 J4. I can't give one star because they were there when I needed them but honestly what an absolute rip off of a captive audience.

Good food choices and nice services to rest for a while on a long journey

Modern, clean, and decent selection of fast food options. Car park hard to get out of when busy. Truck parking is large and never full.

If you love coffee, don't stop here. It is a Starbucks monopoly: upstairs, downstairs, drive-through, and even the shop machines. Even the lone Costa machine has now gone. Drive on.

Always use Hopwood Services as our mid journey pit stop, when travelling back and fore to see family up North. Always find the toilets to be spotlessly clean, and usually spot the cleaner in the nearby area, keeping ontop of it. Fast, friendly service at both the food outlets and the shops.

Very clean service area with plenty of options re food and drinks, not as busy as many other service areas

It ok serves it perpoes we stoped 2 use the toilets and buy a drink it was clean and had a range of differant shops for you to vist

Very handy place near the motorway

I recently stopped at this service station after a trip to Wales. I had some KFC and became rapidly ill afterwards, 3 days on and I'm still suffering with food poisoning. My friends purchased food from the other stands and they are fine. Just avoid the KFC!!

I often used to stop at Hopwood Park services around 15 - 20 years ago, when it was a convenient half way stop between the southeast of England and my then home near Chester. Having the choice of going around Birmingham via the M42 or the M5 and M6 on our way from Worcestershire to the north east today, I suggested we stopped at these services again, as they were always so much nicer and cleaner than Frankley Services M5 Northbound. Bad decision! Our first choice of fast food, Chopstix, had closed already when we arrived around 8. Our second choice, KFC, was only taking orders via the touchscreen kiosks (no cash payment option), which only give a choice of drinks with artificial sweeteners in them, so we ordered from Burger King (real human, cash payments). Food was fine. Eating area was not. Out of around 10 vacant tables immediately next to the food counters, every one had the remains of the previous diners’ meals on them - crumbs, food scraps, greasy smears, sticky puddles. The table tops had flaking varnish and looked like they needed sanding down and refinishing. The chair upholstery was extremely tatty on all the upholstered chairs. The tables next to the windows looked clean, so we went to sit over there, only to have the cleaner shout that we couldn’t. I said that all the other tables were dirty. He did not offer to clean one for us and suggested we sat over by the food waste bins. The whole time we were there, he pushed a broom around, but the floor still looked dirty, with bits of food. I needed the loo, but the up escalator was out of use. I have difficulty climbing stairs due to arthritis, so asked for the radar key to use the ground floor disabled toilet. It was filthy and stank, so I slowly climbed the stairs to the main ladies’ toilets. There was a cubicle with the ‘crutches’ disability logo on the door, so I went in there. No grab rails. It was also a baby changing cubicle, and there was an open topped bin next to the toilet full of dirty nappies. Most of the other cubicles looked dirty too. Hopwood Park used to be quite a nice place to stop - what happened?

Very noisy inside due to badly designed acoustics

It provided a much needed pitstop. Plenty of parking, great bathroom facilities and various eateries to refuel. There was a few shops to grab your essentials for the road and home.

Great spot for charging EV, but shops/eateries are disappointing. Waitrose has many appetizing looking snacks, but the small print shows loads of additives. Prices at all shops and eateries are insanely high. Loos are good.

It's ok, bit of a trek of the motorway.

Nice place to stop off while heading northbound has all the facilities and coffee shop and regular shop for your travel needs

Clean and tidy and airy facilities. Typical m'way services premiums on the price of snacks. Inadequate number of disabled spaces, and a little bizarre that there didn't appear to be any attempt at providing bins for sorting different types of waste.

Facilties are clean and fresh...had KFC for lunch....very disappointed! We thought with it being busy food would be good..my chicken was nice and hot..chips soggy and cold not at all nice! Husbands were the same..very disappointed!

One of the nicest motorway services on the M5/M42 corridor. My preferred stopping point on any Midlands run.

Very big with lots of food places and a whsmith big parking area and spacious toilets inside with disabled access very clean everywhere you look and a fabulous place to stop while on long car journeys will come again

As a truck driver the steps from the truck parking dangerous and that corner off the truck park always flooded this time year. Could the management team please do something at least with the walk way 2 and from truck parking as we pay a fair amount for parking.

Nice service area clean toilets etc. visited Starbucks upstairs tables were dirty also staff not cleaning tables after moving cups and rubbish.

We got here at a very busy time, burger king took ages. The food was OK when we got it but the seating area needed cleaning more often, some messy tables and only 1 person walking around wiping them.

Handy and much needed stop. Lots of choices for food and drinks.

More places to buy a Starbucks coffee than is strictly necessary.

Weird place, filling station not open to enter at 7am... meaning I had to go into the service area, toilets were upstairs, people having meetigns on the stairs.. I was so grumpy that day.

On this occasion I visited because I needed the loo after being stuck in traffic but because I had a dog with me couldn't actually buy any food... feeling like a master criminal l took my tiny dog with me to the loos and once again thought why aren't these places allowing dogs in to at least the forecourt food- takeout outlets? The 'dog area' had no clean water available either. If you are travelling solo and so can't leave your dog with another passenger (no way am I her leaving in the car on a hot day and with dog theft common) it's pretty poor especially in a part of the country that is otherwise very dog friendly

Toilets are upstairs. Confused many including me. Loads of car chargers.

They have one... I repeat, one CHAdeMO charger and around forty Tesla chargers with hardly anyone using them! Masses are empty. They also have around twenty-odd CCS chargers, but one CHAdeMO and a queue behind me use it. Oh, and it's a 20KW GridServe charger, which means anyone can stop your charge just by pressing Stop on the charger. Someone did on mine. Absolutely pathetic.
