Beautiful place nice little beer garden to always friendly staff and service when you go in.

Great atmosphere. Friendly. Under used beer garden is really nice.

We stayed in budle bay and traveled 40 mins every night for our evening meal, our greatdane is allowed in, absolutely top notch food and great staff, really is a great pub.

What a lovely pub, just a shame it's not open every day. Check opening times before you visit, especially on days earlier in the week, but when they are open it's great atmosphere and good guest beers along with other old favourites and very friendly staff. Quiz nights, live music afternoons and other entertainment make it a magnet for locals.

Wide choice of drinks, furnished nicely ,friendly staff.

Traditional pub atmosphere, friendly locals, Sky sports is on but in the background, 1 mile from our house, but worth the walk. Decent selection of beers and spirits, especially good for whisky and bourbon. Dog friendly Highly recommended.

A well presented pub with a decent choice of beers, etc. There is no tv for sports, but the focus is on a chill time, which is achieved. The decor is modern with good outside space. Seems a bit pricy but you pay for the relaxed ambience. Parking is also limited, but that isnt really an issue for me personally. Hope to be back soon

I visited with my family on Sunday afternoon. First time we have been since covid. Disappointed that it has changed hands as I got on really well with the last manager. Don't like the addition of the TV and the music was horrifically too loud. You couldn't even escape from it outside. When a live band turned up I couldn't get out quickly enough. It certainly wasn't my idea of a quiet Sunday afternoon drink. On a plus side I must say the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cask beer I had was ok but only 2 to choose from. Might try again a mid week afternoon to see if it's without ear splitting music otherwise never again.

The hope is a friendly place, great vibe with great beer at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended 🤘🤘

I generally call in with the dog after his early evening walk. Staff and customers are friendly and welcoming. Real ales and a good selection of other beers and lagers. There is an outdoor seating area with a section under cover - great on warm sunny days.

Surprising variety of cask options. Clean toilets with fancy doors. Live music on sundays while you charge your car at the osprey. Tight gravel floored beer garden with music from indoors repeated on speakers outside.

Brilliant pub, lovely decor great selection of drinks on offer too. Great prices would highly recommend lovey log burning fire too adds to the atmosphere. Friendly locals and staff although the bar ladies are sometimes slow.

Great pub close to Pontefract Monkhill Railway Station. Had a very nice refurb. Very good choice of real ale (fantastic condition). Will definitely revisit when going to the races or the rugby. Landlord excellent.

Real ale on tap. Local stuff. Very nice. Young barmaid very friendly and good at her job. Had a great night there.

Great atmosphere, with friendly bar staff! Pub quiz on a Thursday is a good laugh and worth a visit. A well refurbished pub with a good selection of gins and beer. The fact it's busy is testiment to how good it really is, just what Pontefract needs!
