Great place great music. But why do you serve regulars before others stood waiting patiently at the bar this happened twice to me on Friday at about 7:30 which pi55ed me off big time

Visited here on few occasions but have to make sure you've got scarf and gloves no heating on ever paying high prices so surely they can keep customers warm

Terrible service and watch your change, very clicky and door staff run the show, say anything that they don't like and they chuck you out. Toilets filthy.

Extremely rude bar staff, avoid if you can! Went here with another couple for some drinks. I completely understand and agree with challenge 25 rule. However let in by door staff no issues then our boyfriends got a round in whilst we went the loo. Sat down with all our drinks and at a table started to drink and chat, no issues. About 15/20 mins into our drinks a very rude barmaid stormed over to me and my friend demanding ID due to challenge 25. Me and my friend are 28 and boyfriend’s 33. We didn’t have our ID but explained with did have some on our phones which was not accepted. Then quite aggressively and abruptly our drinks (near enough full) were snatched of us and bouncer called to escort us out. If it is challenge 25 why not do it at the door or bar? Why wait until we have paid for all our drinks and sat down enjoying our night? What makes it even more ridiculous is that my friend and her boyfriend had been in there earlier that night for a few pints with no issues. At least be consistent and don’t let your customers buy drinks before challenging 25 if it is something you want to enforce? Please avoid if you’re looking for a nice evening out with friends. So aggressive and should have been handled completely differently. Will not be returning or recommending!

Rude barmaid, place is packed with old fellas, barmaid is rude and malicious, toilets are dirty, terrible experience

DJ was fab. Clientele were a bit pervy. Fine if you want to be pawed at whilst you're dancing to Billy Ocean 😂 otherwise not recommended haha.

Went in on Easter bank holiday and it was lovely from the off as we was greeted by the most chatty, polite well mannered door staff. Something you don’t see anymore so I was happily surprised. Bar staff was a younger looking lady and she was delightful too. Good selection of spririts and beers. Will be visiting again when we’re back in the area.

OMG the bouncers in this place are beyond amazing I'm from Warrington but now live in Manchester always loved this bar but went last night firstly was id I know must have been a joke but at 45 tomorrow made my whole life 😂😂then walked in when at the bar some muppet threatened to stab me out the blue within in 3 seconds the bouncers had him out everyone in the bar checking I was OK amazing place and soon as I find out how to treat the bouncers I will they wouldn't let me buy them a drink but hop pole your amazing and your bouncers are better than 100%

Went here on a Saturday evening, bar staff awful, "woman" covered in tattoos looking like she never washed really rude, and young girl with a typical teenager face on her as if she didn't want to be there. Felt uneasy as if, if you say anything you will be thrown out.. Not cheap beer either, obviously short changing people.. Wont ever go in there again. Warrington becoming a dump now..

Come in this morning with my mum for breakfast, I had the big breakfast and omg it filled me right up everything on the plate to fried bread it was delicious and for just short of £7 I’ll definitely come again filled me right up to tea time yummy 😊

Called in for a pint. The place was very well maintained and had some excellent original features. Clearly this is a local for many people as there were a number of clients in there that looked to be fixtures and fittings themselves. Horse racing on the TV looked to be popular and the atmosphere over all was very laid back and friendly. Good range of beers at the bar were on offer.

Congratulations to this pub social distancing was spot on they were playing music but if you stood up to dance you were told very politely to sit down and dance in your chair only such a pleasant chap policing this thank you for a safe time out

Been to hop pole today after visiting there on Tuesday, there was different staff on the floor and a old female covered in tattoos told me to take a seat which I did, then she went glass collecting, the next I knew I’m trying to get the bar staff to acknowledge me and the tattoo lady saw a couple come in and showed them seats near the bar then she they were asked for drink orders by staff and I was totally ignored then the tattoo lady turned up saying to them it’s been to long after the lock down. So I walked out as I had been totally ignored and it seemed favourites were served 1st I find that cheeky and disgusting the way I was ignored and I certainly will never enter that pub again!! Funny how a old tattooed lady can run a pub when she’s just the hired help

Was packed and it was a problem to get to the toilet, as people were stood in the passageways , and with pillar's in the way it was hard to get through.

I call in on the weekend love it

The prices are average for the town centre. There is an air of menace about the place as the evening gets later. The karaoke set up is shabby and cliquey. Not recommended for a nicer night out. Great if you fancy a punch up.

Live opposite this scruffy place. So noisy. Full of drunks falling over and having ambulances called frequently. Disgraceful.

It's been a good pub through the years and it still is now in my eyes. All ages of people come in here, commuters catching the train, people who need a taxi or a bus as it is located next to the bus station. Music . Give it a try as you will either love it or you won't . Some very nice staff some not as friendly make your own mind up but on music nights it's good 🥳

Extremely rude and offensive owner and staff; in addition, I don't think they should remain open as they exceed by far the acceptable amount of noice in a residential area. One of the worst places to be.

Called in after a meal on a Saturday night unaware it was the Halloween party night. The pub was decorated in spooktacular fashion it was like travelling into another dimension especially as most of the customers were dressed up. There was a lively DJ playing great music until after the curfew. Service at the bar was reasonable even though it was packed . It was definitely a night to remember. Not sure what it’s like on a normal night but seems like a fun night out for all ages.

Had a nice drink here. They had quite a few Televisions on but not the best picture. It was a nice atmosphere and staff were friendly. Toilets could of been cleaner but not the worst I have seen in pub.

Called in for a pint of Speckled Hen (not as good as in the Bluebell). Lively atmosphere with horse racing shown on the various screens. Plenty of local colour! Window seat to watch all the passing action of Horsemarket Street.

called in here before getting a taxi, first time in and a really good pub. nearly all male customers on the night, but maybe the awful weather had kept all the ladies at home......who knows? Champions league on the TV and Dark fruits on tap means I was happy and warm for an hour or so. Sort of pub you can imagine is a riot at a weekend, and I will give it a tryout on my next visit

Went in here on saturday 11th august with friends after having a lovely night out in Urmston. The bar staff very rude swearing at my friend and another customer when ordering drinks.

We visited last night with friends after an 18th birthday meal. It was very busy but that is expected for a saturday night. A member of our group was at the bar when another gentleman paid the female bartender £20 for £6 worth of drinks. After the woman gave his drinks the man kindly asked for his change. The woman replied "I have given you your f****** change". The man from our group then said "you havent given it to him yet" and she responded with "I have given the f****** change now don't call me a liar or I will get the bouncer". In the meantime we had ordered drinks and two of them came with coke as mix (we had asked for pink gin and lemonade). When we said they weren't what we asked for we got another abusive response "that is f****** pink gin". This is a disgraceful way to treat customers, whether it is a busy saturday night or not. We will not be back.

Always a fun night. Visited after the warrington rugby game and the place was rocking with tunes from all eras.

I came in here just now and asked for a pint in exchange for cash and got one. Woo hoo! Cheerful barman. Recommended if you need a pint in exchange for cash to cope with arriving in what's a pretty bleak town. I mean, what the hell has it got going for it? Easy access to motorways to get the hell out of it is all I can think of.

Just popped in for a quick drink. Quite busy and a lot of them looked like they had been there all day and a bit worse for wear but felt comfortable there and the drinks were a reasonable price

It was a Sunday night and we came across this pub we had a really lovely night with music and nice company with wasn't very expensive and would recommend for a night out.
