I used this takeaway for the first time tonight. The food was beautiful - duck spring rolls (on the menu as chopstick rolls) and chicken cashew nut with fried rice - all for £9.20. Perfect for the two of us to share and quickly prepared.

We ordered from here at the beginning of September which ended up being a £70 which was fine. When we got home to open and eat the food we found the food was cold, around 3/4 of the meals had dark black hair in it and food was missing. We have tried to resolve these issues with the takeaway since the 2nd of September and have repeatedly been told there is no manager available and someone will call me back and not heard anything. The woman I finally spoke with today nearly 4 weeks later was so rude and basically told me I was lying about the issues! Will never be going back here and would not recommend anyone else to waste their money!

Have used this place a few times. I have to say no changes since my last order! Absolutely delicious 😋. Thank you for the amazing meal! Delivery driver was very pleasant and polite. The speed in which the food came was superior. Will be ordering again and again!

Really loved our take away best we’ve had in ages also will defiantly come here again and recommend it, no MSG or gloopy food which you get in some Chinese takeaways was delicious the beef curry was lovely , we had the set meal for two was fabulous 10/10

Best chinese takeaway in the area, like chows on the wirral, they pay great attention to the quality of the food, and go here for take away very often. + very reasonably priced.

First Ordered a combo meal for two as this place was suggested by the village post group chat and it is worth the wait and very affordable plus delicious. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

Extremely poor service! We collected meals for 7 people but once we got home we found we only had 6 meals. Rang the women on reception and she was adamant they counted 7 meals and insured me that meals were in fact in the box (definitely only 6). In the end I spoke with who I think was the owner/ manager, she was not interest in providing any compensation for the trouble even though we explained we were probably 20minutes away from getting the other meal - in which the initial 6 meals would now be cold. The extra meal did come but the evening had already been tarnished. Not sure if we will be back.

Ordered takeaway for delivery last night for the first time from honour house was told it would be delivered within 45mins. The order arrived in 20mins which was great i had a special curry with fried rice the meat was lovely and the food was nice and hot my wife had a mixed vegetable curry and is quite fussy but said it was beautifully presented and tasted great overall good experience

Food is nice and it’s reasonably priced, not so keen on there Thai food, but the Chinese is always good. would definitely go here again.

A small, long-standing restaurant. The staff served us a great set menu at a brilliant price. Perfect for a post-climb feed after visiting The Boardroom. Fast and friendly service and we will be visiting again.

Birthday takeaway. We particularly like the Thai and Malaysian options. Always good grub. Piping hot and delivered on time 😀

Fancied a takeaway. Heard good things about honour house. Ordered 2meals for my friend and I. Have have chinese food many times before and was not impressed. No taste. Felt it was frozen and then defrosed. Maybe it was fresh but as I said no taste. Won't be ordering it again.

This is a lovely Chinese Restaurant. U have to go upstairs to the dining area tho, so not wheelchair friendly :( The food is gorgeous!! They offer an Early Bird Menu from 5pm-7pm, which is a 4 course meal for £9. Well worth the money. Children very welcome.

This place has several options and there is a set menu or you can order off the main menu. The restaurant itself is fine inside and staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good and a fair price.

First visit here, came with 4 adults and 3 children for a nye meal! First impressions were naf decor very dated. We were sat down straight away but it took over half an hour before someone took our orders (there were only 2 tables of customers there). It took a further twenty mins for drinks and prawn crackers to arrive. Kids very restless at this point! All dishes arrived at different times, kids first adults last in fact 2 mains didn't come until 2 of us had completely finished their 2 mains. We had to ask for kids desserts whilst the last 2 mains were being eaten as the kids were sick of all the waiting. We also had to ask 4 times for more drinks. Only 1 waitress was serving then another came on about an hour later but this did not make a difference. The restaurant started to get busier after an hour or so of us arriving and we could over hear others talking and some complaining about the waiting time. I dread to think what it would be like here when it is fully booked! Toilets very dirty have seen better in a train station! Would of preferred to have seen Chinese waitresses working there or at least friendly ones! The restaurant is very cold so wear a jumper! Positives now...reasonably cheap and food reflects what you pay. Overall very unorganised, needs more staff working there. For anyone thinking of going here try 'chefs wok' or 'what's cooking' they are much better :-)

La comida era buena, muy generosas porciones y la verdad es que estaba a un precio razonable. La camarera era muy simpático y era bastante ocupado por una noche de domingo. Sin duda volveremos.

Eat at this restaurant last night and it was lovely, the food and service were excellent would definitely eat at this restaurant again.

My family group of three was first into the restaurant, having been held downstairs by a surly man at the bar and studiously ignored by waiter. Finally allowed upstairs and order taken. Restaurant filled with six tables occupied, one table of eight. Starters arrived, but only one of us served with second course. Later came food for the second and finally after everyone in the restaurant had been served my meal arrived. Inordinate delay. Waitress offered our bottle of water free for this delay but came back later to say the owner had refused it. It was obviously an error by the waiting staff - our meal went to another table. The surly man downstairs asked if everything was OK as we departed. I told him "no". He didn't follow that with a question so I asked him if he would like to know and told him the story very calmly and more politeness than the evening deserved. His response was to tell me that he would tell the staff! This was our second visit - I'd given them the benefit of the doubt as last time the waiting staff forgot to tell the kitchen that we had finished our first course - so endured a long wait until they realised. Immune to glares. Food OK, price good but never, ever again.

What a great place for good food and friendly staff! I've been to Honour House several times now and I can safely say I have never been disappointed by the food or service. The menu offers variety and value and the staff are always friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Easily one of the best restaurants around.

Visited on 13 March a buffet was offered which we agreed but it was a bit of a disappointment to say the least, we waited some time for our soup, requested serviettes but was brought a small wet wipe, the buffet on order was a very small selection served with wait between being filled resulting with queues building up and some clients unhappy.Quite a shock as apparently this establishment has a good local reputation - maybe we picked the wrong day to visit but will try elsewhere on our next visit to the area.

We opted for Chinese for our family meal. But hadn't booked a table, and asked if there was any chance for a table of six. They said that was fine. To take a seatj in the waiting area whilst they set our table up. This was no problem! We waited for about 15 minutes, and I personally thought that it would have been a good opportunity to take a drinks order! We were then taken to the table, and left there still with no order of drinks taken. I then had to ask for someone to oblige! Whilst taking the drinks order she asked whether we would like the soup that was included in the buffet deal. The answer was yes.she then arrived with our drinks and followed up with the phrase, 'your soup won't be long'. We waited about half an hour until she realised there was no soup, never mind me hinting to the other waiter on us having more prawn crackers while we all wait hungry. It then took another 15 minutes and it arrived luk warm. I then asked for some serviettes as we were with 2 children as well, and we all know the food goes everywhere! He came then with some wet wipes and so I had to ask again.. With him only bringing 2 for the whole table. After the soup it was a help yourself buffet. The food was only warm and the sauces looked more like a paste they had been out for so long. And everything was low on availability. I could quite easily say I would not dine here again!

Family member's birthday meal, I'm usually an Indian meal person, but was very pleasantly surprised, the set menus are pretty inexpensive, but very authentic. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was great and a very relaxed, none of the 4 courses was late and everything was unrushed, we all spent well over 3hrs in the small but very welcoming upstairs area. The longest I've spent..... I think in any restaurant. Summary 1. Great authentic food 2. Great atmosphere 3. Very reasonable bill 4. A++ service Highly recommended

Came here for a girly meal after it was recommended by a friend. We all decided to choose from the early bird menu as the choice was plentiful. Staff were all friendly and willing to make recommendations. The food was tasty, especially the ribs which melted in the mouth. The portion sizes were adequate. Decor comfortable and relaxing. Will definately be returning.

Not just a Chinese as they do other styles such as Malaysian and Thai. Excellent value for money particularly if you go for the 'Early Bird' which is served at Tea Time and I think finishes about 7.00pm (better check these times). Wine is very good and very reasonable, staff are 'no frills' but very helpful and very pleasant.

Food is realy nice but the Chinese Man is waiting for you to Finnish. You have to go upstairs to dine which is no good if you can't climb stairs or in wheelchair, I have a disabled daughter and would not be able to take her, there is seating downstairs in bar so don't know if they would let you dine there, you would have to ask I thin

We visited on New Years Eve. The food was excellent and good value for money. The sweet and sour king prawns were superb. The 2 waitresses were efficient and approachable. There was enough food left over to bring home a doggy bag ( well, 2 plastic boxes to be precise) for tomorrow's lunch. Highly recommended.

Went to Honour House last week. It wasnt the first time but have not been there for a while. Although it wasa Saturday night it was very quiet. The staff were very good. Very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and we had enough food to feed an army!!It was tasty fresh and very quick arriving at our table. Not too dear either. We will certainly go again and perhaps not leave it so long next time.

My wife and I have had beautiful meals every time we go.The 3 waitresses are efficient and also very friendly,we find that the early bird is a good cheap meal 3courses.starter,main,and ice cream or coffee.the early bird is a cheap and cheerful meal.

Where do you start when rating this place? amazing. Me and my wife come here a lot and we often bring friends here because we enjoy the food, atmosphere, waitresses and management. We have been coming here for about 3/4 years now and over that time the waitresses have changed numerous times, but recently they seemed to have stayed the same. But the food has always stayed the same, and if anything got better and better every time we visit. They have a range of different meal options for you that are priced differently, they offer a three course for £5.90 and a four course for £9.90. They then offer two different set dinners, four courses for £12.90 and five courses for £14.90 (make sure you don't eat for a week if your having the five course because it will fill you right up!!). They also have al a carte menu, what more could you want? You have to come and try this amazing food for yourself, me and my wife don't eat chinese from anywhere else, they even do a take away! However, we do only try to visit on certain days now, for reasons i will explain.There is Sarah, who unfortunately only works one day a week. She is just lovely, always has a smile on her face, copes well with the pressure of it being busy and is always on top form. Then there is Jess, who again only works weekends. Like Sarah, she is lovely, always on top form and always engages in conversation with all her customers. They are both so lovely and it is just a shame that they don't work more!Then there is Kate, now where do you start? Kate works throughout the week and of a weekend, why? When you first meet her she seems so lovely and genuinely interested in what the customers are like and she really tries to get to know them. Well, don't be fooled. We now try to not come in when Kate is working because we cannot cope with her 'in your face, everything is about me' attitude. We have seen her practically naked in these new 'modeling' photos, we know all about her home life, her children, new animals, ex husband and her new boyfriend! Its a shame, because everyone else here is just lovely! Sue and Edward the managers are always so lovely, always say hello and engage in conversation when they are not busy. And Frank, he is the old man behind the desk. If you take the time to get to know him he really is lovely, but sometimes he can be very rude, i put that down to being old and deaf. All in all, this place is so lovely and it is a shame that it is not busier sometimes. The food is amazing, I personally recommend their thai fish cakes, king prawn panang curry and their golden sands seafood, all amazing dishes that i have never tasted anywhere else! I cannot big this place up any more, you just have to try it!

I eat here regularly and always a great experience. The food is first class. Nice clean resteraunt. Good choice usually able to swap food on set menu. Keep it up as I want it to stay like this forever. Kids love it. My old mother loves it. A excellent evening meal. Fab value for money cheaper than a ready meal in asda and fabulous taste

First time here, we will be back soon. Awesome! Very warm welcome. The food is the best ever! The staff, Sarah and Jess were fantastic and did everything perfect. Our drinks never ran dry. Can't believe we have never been here before. Seriously, the words are hard to find as to how to describe this gem of a restaurant. So I suppose all I can say is EXCELLENT! ........would highly recommend a visit to anyone.

Like my last review in December 2013 this is only my second time at this restaurant The food is very enjoyable always piping hot and the two lovely waitress help make a good evening in to a great evening There is plenty of choice of dishes I came way very full indeed have chosen the £9.90 happy meal I will return very soon

Accidentally posted this review onto Ghandi's palace !! Perils of using an iphone !! Anyway-Mum n dads 58th wedding anniversary. Went very early (6.30) so they could get back !! Lovely welcome ...particularly from 2 little girls...we assumed part of the owners family. Huge smiles and absolutely gorgeous :) mum n dad had seafood curries....really well cooked and tender. Wife had duck ...done to a turn...son had chicken chow mein ..brilliant. I had the Golden Sands seafood special. Incredible. Light crispy batter...succulent seafood and crispy/soft noodles. Would liked to have seen more draft drinks rather than cans but a wonderful meal and a great night. Thank you :)

We come here on a regular basis and it never disappoints!!! The food is excellent, especially the Thai red curry! You can get 4 courses for £9.95 what a bargain! Highly recommend! Hidden gem on the outskirts of Chester.

The food here is fab and good value for money, the waitress kate, sarah and jess are fantastic and are never rude at all and as for kate being old and rude and hoovering around tables this has never happened as shes always been busy going up and down the stairs ! Some customers can be very rude and just write pathetic reviews honour house is a brilliant place to eat!

Two lovely young blonde waitresses who are both very polite and helpful, however one older very rude waitress who does not leave you in your chosen company and is quite frankly just very rude. She actually hovered by my table for 35 minutes whilst I tried to talk to my partner, and I was not very impressed. However the service by the other two waitresses is excellent and we now only come when they are working, the food is fantastic and prices are excellent!! could pay a lot more for a lot less elsewhere, overall very nice atmosphere of restaurant just a shame for one letdown

really tasty food, clean restaurant and the young lady that takes your order is always friendly. we like the food here and have never been disappointed with the quality or the quantity. the only thing I would say is that on our last visit the place was a little cold, so pop a jumper on next time, but for a cheap and cheerful night out we were both happy with this.

Absolutely disgusting service. The man who regularly takes orders is the rudest, most arrogant person to ever enter the world. Puts the phone down mid conversation and doesn't allow you to ask a question. Delivery time is never correct and never receive an apology for the awful service. I hate myself for going back here but I certainly won't be anymore!

Stopped off after a night out as we were very Hungary food was first class and plentifully The staff are friendly and helpful And not to expensive

i have been eating here for years and while i cant fault the food...the old guy that answers the phone is unbelievably rude on the phone it is unreal.I just placed a huge order and then as i was about to pay on card he was much ruder than his usual level so i cancelled the order and will not be returning.His grasp of English is poor and his manners poorer.Good job there is equally delicious Chinese food close by.

You can pay seriously more cash for a meal that will not compare to what you can enjoy at Honour House. Ambience can be mixed dependent upon numbers, but you will never complain about the quality of the food or the service once you've got up the stairs!The waitresses, especially Katie, are as attentive as one might expect in a Michelin restaurant. We keep returning and if you visit Honour House you will understand why. Enjoy!

My husband & I came here as we were staying in the st davids hotel chester and we fancied a Chinese for tea. We had the 5 course set meal and it was so nice and really cheap. It was under £20 a head for the set meal.The food was really nice and the duck pancakes were delicious.I think our bill was around £45 for two of us and I had 2 large glasses of wine & a lemonade and my husband had 3 glasses of coke so I thought that was really good value for money.The waitresses are really friendly and chatty.We really enjoyed our meal and we will return when we are in the area next time.

I now can't order Chinese or Thai from anywhere else because it is sooooo good here! The meals are authentic and fresh and unbelievable value for money. I am vegetarian and my partner a meat eater and we both have an amazing choice. The service is also very good, they are polite and quick. The man on the front desk can be rude on the phone but that is the only negative on the Honour House.

Went here tonight for the first time for my birthday meal. Although in an unassuming area, was attracted by range of Thai and Malaysian cuisine on menu as well as Chinese. All staff, including elderly gentleman on reception/bar were welcoming, attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. We ordered the 5 course dinner menu which gave us soup, combination starter, crispy duck, a choice of main meal from the a la carte and banana fritter with ice cream for dessert, all for £14.90 per head!!!!! Every course was cooked to perfection and portions were plentiful. This may have been our first visit but it certainly won't be our last.

we used to go several times a week! kids love it and it great value for money. the waitresses are very polite the only thing that lets it down is the rudeness of the old man at the reception.shame but can't put up with his rudeness so we very rarely go anymore!

Had a meal here with my niece last Thursday. The food and service was very good. Unfortunately we were the only people there, so there wasn't much atmosphere. We have been here when it was full, and it is even better then.

We have become regulars of this family run restaurant, the food is very good particularly the golden sands seafood.The welcome is warm and friendly, service form the waitresses is good.The menu and set menus are very good value including an early bird menu and a lunch menu although we haven't tried the lunch as yet.There are stairs which could be a problem for disabled customers, but there are tables downstairs available.

Me and my partner went here for a meal....don't understand why I have never been here before!!The service was brilliant and the food....superb!!Very good value for money as you get extremely big portions.Highly recommended and will be definatlety visiting again very soon.
