My son took me there for mother day meal. .We both had starters but the main course took over an hour to arrive . We both had chicken dishes which was over cooked and cold.Sadly my son was very disappointed.

We recently booked Home Farm View to host our one year old’s family meal. From the start to the finish of the process the team at Home Farm View could not be more helpful and attentive. Chris was my main point of contact and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day. We had over 50 attendees including children at the meal. The food was prepared and provided timeously and to a high standard something that the majority of guests commented on! The food was also amazing and very well liked by all. I appreciate catering for such a large group on a busy weekend brings difficulties however Chris ensured the meal ran smoothly. There was no unduly delays or issues with food orders and all guests were extremely happy with their meals and the staff on the day. I would highly recommend Home Farm View going forward. Thanks again everyone at Home Farm View in particular Chris.

Served by Margaret , however all the staff were friendly. Went the extra mile as I am coeliac , at the door we were asked if any dietary requirements to which i said , I am gluten free , was kindly given a tablet with upto date menu to pick from. Would be going back, sometime. Thanks 😊

Went here for a meal for my mums birthday. The place was quiet, food is mediocre at best, the service is disgusting though. Ive had better service at a McDonald's.

Really good food you know what you're getting and it's usually very good. Only disappointing dish in my years of visiting is the lentil soup which was bizarrely watery and distasteful but everything else has been great and everyone I've ate with have said the same. Great value and lovely staff.

Went here Saturday lunchtime with my mum and my small child. When we arrived it was early afternoon. There was myself, my mum and my daughter. Apart from that there was 2 other couples - one with a child so all together in the whole restaurant there was 8 of us. We asked to be seated next to the play area for my daughter and we were met with a stinking attitude from who I assume is the manager? telling us all the tables were fully booked bar one right at the front door. We took a seat where we were told and my mum went for a walk about to see what the situation with the play area was. Again I will reiterate there was 8 of us in the restaurant but yous were “fully booked.” My mum asked if we could be moved to a table next to the play area - as every single of them were empty - so my child could play and could be supervised whilst not being miles away from the table. We were met with an absolute disgustingly stinking attitude and then told “no we are completely fully booked” we were only planning on being there for a short length of time and again the place was absolutely dead. You’re not telling me you had 20/30 people coming in for lunch with reserved tables with how dead the place was. We then just sat at the front door at the “only table they had free” We ordered some drinks whilst we waited on a member of staff bringing the menus over and could see pointing and looks being drawn to our table by staff members at the bar. Then my daughter needed the bathroom so I took her into the ladies to be met with 2/3 locked doors - can’t quite remember if there was 3/4 toilets and the only toilet that was available was piled up with faeces and toilet roll. I then went to tell a member of staff who couldn’t have cared less. I then asked for the key to the disabled toilet and was met with an attitude - like it was an unthinkable task to go and get a key so I can take my child to the toilet. After all of this happening we decided that we wouldn’t be eating here as the staff and the environment was disgustingly unwelcoming. We then mentioned when the staff member came over that we wouldn’t be eating here and we would like the bill for the drinks. Again standing at the bar 3 members of staff all standing pointing and staring at our table, hands over mouths gossiping and whispering. We will never be stepping foot in this place again and would like to let other people know how shocking and disgusting the staff and service is

Disappointed had to send both meals back as they were not hot enough , the table opposite sent soup back for the same reason , it wasn't busy so no excuse really , that should be a basic.

Popped in for my tea the other night and it was beautiful Service was great too. Very cheery staff.

waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our food to come out, and for that length of time waiting you would’ve thought food would be hot forgot some of our order and there was no staff about to ask them where it was overall service was poor, food was poor and the waiting time was poor

We visited when another restaurant was full with a long wait. It was further away from our location but they were able to seat us straight away. The restaurant is bright and comfortable with open areas and more private booths. There is a private area which can be booked for private parties. The food is fresh and tasty. The menu is typical of this type of restaurant but we enjoyed our visit. It's not the first time we have visited and we will return.

Have eaten here a few times good service and although we didn’t book we got seated without any issue, enjoyed the Gammon, didn’t have starter or desert. I’d visit again

Went for a family meal. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed the food and service was fantastic.

Birthday lunch for our son...booked weeks ago and was reassured by the female manager at the time they would be running both menus, the normal menu and christmas menu, also when booked requested a booth. We were seated in the middle (no booth) and no christmas menu. We let that slide. Ordered drinks..then ordered our meals...no squid I also asked what else was not available only to be told there was no fajitas. We placed our order, one starter missing but nobody around to ask. Mains came with missing starter, 2 items missing off my plate and onion rings missing from sons plate. Food was edible but nothing special, grilled tomato on my plate was a half of a cold tomato. Second order of drinks I would have been quicker walking to Sainsbury's. You can forgive missing items or slow service if place was busy but it wasn't. I complained when I paid and good enough money taken off bill...but just give good service and food in the first place, it's not hard and you providing a service !!

The steaks medium rare were medium rare, and medium were medium. In one word - perfect. Starters and desserts - very tasty. Service friendly and interested in our comfort. 10/10

Had a nice meal at Home Farm last night. Service very good with friendly staff. Sadly no steak n ale pie so hubby a bit disappointed but in the end opted for scampi and I had Hunters chicken. Both meals very good, but plates were cold, so food didn't stay warm for long. Both had a nice dessert and drinks. I really appreciated that the restaurant was warm....far too many eating places not putting their heating on these days, hence we end up rushing our meal to get out of the cold! Will be back soon.

The venue is very nice, clean and table are quite far apart, feeling nice and cozy. Food was very nice and very well cooked and tasty. We had a pleasant evening thanks to our waiter Baptiste who was very friendly and had a very good service. Wre will definitely go back there!

Was in for breakfast a few days ago and it was beautiful! So hot and fresh. Along with a yummy hot chocolate it was a lovely morning. Staff were very quick and helpful too. Always a lovely atmosphere in there too. Felt very cosy with all the Xmas trees too! Will be back!

Had a lovely meal for our grandsons birthday. Service was great and fast even though it was very busy that night. Food was lovely also. Will be back in the new year.

Servers were nice, (the ones who first took drink orders lovelylady) food was so crap. Ate it because although we had booked this and done a set meal for today and it was 30-40 min before Starters. It took them soo long to get it out to us. Yes we were a big table but a snail could run food faster then the staff here. Kids got their meals last... they should be first. I asked for a additional rump and was given the two crap bits of meat. Potaots, rock hard. Not even a pig in blanket that the menu stated. Infact none of the flavours advertised on the menu were involved in this meal. At one point my partner asked for a additional coke can and it took over 15 min for that to arrive. They wasn't busy. Just slow. Everyone was to polite to say how bad this was to the staff but it was definitely not worth it. Just avoid their set menu. Staff just chatting, like come on were here to eat.

Booked for a family meal for my daughters boyfriends birthday. We arrive half an hour early and constantly heard people behind us being told they were so busy so had no tables. Clearly not the case. We were seated promptly and the guy came back twice to take our order * hadn't seen each other for a while so some catching up to do) guy came back and pretty much told us that they had 2 big tables coming in so needed our order "now' said tables never appeared. The place was dead, the food was dry and cold, even the delivery of the birthday cake was pathetic. No knife, no plates Or forks and when someone asked for them, they were told ' you can have them, they are closest ". Lazy staff looking for an early night. Shocking

In fairness the meal was fine. Being told our table needs to hurry after being seated for around 15 minutes was not fine. Had the place been packed or visibly started to fill then I'd understand. We were told there were other tables arriving soon and it would be very busy. That never happened. Just don't lie because you want an early finish, it was a birthday celebration for a youngster, we were going to be out fairly early anyway Guess it will be another couple of years before I visit again. Pfft.

Me and / other friends ordered steaks, they all came perfectly cooked, and tasted amazing. The service was great and our waiter was really polite. Only downside was that our peppercorn sauce tasted like the chef had decided to flick cigarettes into it, it was so overpowering and at one point i felt my airways closing.

Came in for breakfast and we were served by Ashleigh and George. Really nice service and quick with getting our drinks / food.

We had lovely meal at home farm view , we were met by Louise and William who were very welcoming, our food was served pretty quick and I would recommend the Katsu chicken which is served with rice and fries. Louise and William excelled and made sure we enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere in the home farm is lovely and anytime we have been the staff have always been friendly.

Visited softplay with my grandaughter, the room was empty when we arrived, very cold and we were seated in the middle table right next to the door which latterly smokers were in and out of. Grandaughter had food which was lovely, drinks and staff were all lovely.very reasonably priced, only complaint was it was quite cold

Booked a family meal for 12. The restaurant was almost empty at 4.30pm on a wet Sunday afternoon. One of our party was gluten free and several meals had already been served before they came out to say there was an issue with the pork and asked which other meat they'd like instead. The roasts came out OK apart from that, but those who'd ordered burgers/alternative to roasts were served after the first plates to come had been finished. Gluten free yorkshires were a nice touch. Obviously pre-packed, but as not everyone caters for gluten free, were acceptable. The meats were lovely as were the potatoes, but there just weren't enough of them. Six tiny bits of potato to accompany three large slabs of meat. There was no sign of the promised garlic and rosemary. The vegetables were just awful. Probably frozen as the brocolli florets had disintegrated. Again, just not enough of them for the amount of meat, a couple of tablespoons of peas and half a dozen thin carrot batons. What arrived on the plate bore no resemblance to the description or image on the menu. Pretty poor considering the price. Puddings were OK. The range of gluten free puddings on offer was impressive. Overall, it filled a gap (though we all needed supper when we got home) but given how empty the place was, there was no need for such poor service.

Had brunch here twice now and both times have been impressed by the quality of the food and the value for money with the quantity of the portions. Service was excellent on both occasions too. As it was before noon, there weren't many people in so I can't exactly give 5 stars for the atmosphere but I imagine it'd be good when busier.

Been coming here for the best part of 31 years but unfortunately i will struggle to return... What went wrong? 1- Service. We both ordered steak , I ordered the rump ( meduim) my partner sirloin ( meduim rare) upon receipt of said foods my steak was meduim rare my partners was meduim. We had to swap steaks as we couldn't wait or even complain and wait further . She didn't want a rump it's a fatty meat. 2- value. My steak with sauce £ 20. Pictured attached is the amount of potatoes I was served! They were cut in half to fill the plate. Server shouldve realised that volume of potatoes wouldn't fill a child never mind a grown man, but still served. 3- resolve.. I mentioned the volume of potatoes and was given another three (again cut in half to show more volume) Was offered a free desert. We declined as we just wanted out. 4- experience - end to end wasn't good. The Rival accross the road offers a more postive experience over all aspects of ' eating out' 5- overall - very dissaponted. Didn't want much just value( getting what I paid for) to which we didn't get. Off the mark to be Getting it right first time that negatively impacted that 'eating out' experience and it killed the atmosphere. What do you do that sets you apart from the competitors? Iam Sitting here in my house still hungry........

Used to go here loads, food no bad but not amazing. Atmosphere is great and service is excellent, never had any issues with any of those. The children's play area is also pretty good as i take my son here sometimes to play Overall not bad but some improvements can be made 👌

Fifes hidden gem. If your like me and your all about taste when it comes to your food then make sure you visit Home Farm View pub and grill . Personally I think the name pub and grill doesn’t do it justice. After a busy shopping day at the nearby retail estate the perfect solution is on the way out of Kirkcaldy just before the main roundabout on the left. We went for breakfast and it was a taste sensation. Full breakfast (I exchanged sausage from square to link and binned the tomatoes ) I could go into how amazing the taste was but I won’t . Every bite had its own delight. Now onto the Staff . On opening the door we were greeted by a friendly lady who showed us to our table and took our drinks orders . She gave us time to choose from the menu and she delivered it without delay ( it was so fast ) Perfect service from Ashleigh ( thank you ) Very good price for a breakfast of high quality

A lovely family get together - the food is always good and the staff are extremely pleasant and accommodating, on this occasion - thank's George. The premises are clean and inviting with plenty of free parking.

What a wonderful family restaurant, the staff were absolute brilliant especially with the kids which is always a hit for us. Meal was lovely, we all had something different and it was clean plates all round. Great sized soft play as well. Was out first visit and we will definitely be back!

Just do t go. We were in for a meal, nothing hard simple so we thought, 30min later we were given the wrong meal was in formed that they will return with the correct order, waited again, this time after our party got fed up waiting we left, to our surprise even the staff commented that it was ridiculous that we were waiting so long, we left never ever to return unless we were looking for free drinks again.

Poor service, slow to attend we ordered chicken sharing platter and nachos for starters, they fell really short of expectations with minimal toppings on nachos and a very small portion for a sharing platter with chicken tasted mushy and corn was cold. Kids meal was fine but our burgers the ultimate and signature burgers were not edible and we did complain the manager came over and argued that nothing was wrong and that burgers were supposed to taste fatty and grisly (which was our complaint) he used the term "it is impossible that they were cooked wrong" I was not prepared to argue and create a scene Infront of my family, we did not pay for burgers. DO BETTER HOME FARM VIEW.

I was really disappointed as this was for a family meal. Food expensive for kids (they don't have a kids set meal) Had to wait for a while even although we had booked a table. Had to wait even longer for food once we had ordered. Then... we had ordered a vegetarian meal and was about 10 mins after everyone else had been given their meal. Not only that, when it finally did come to the table it was cold!!! They did replace it with a hot dinner, but we were all finished by the time it arrived for our vegetarian diner. I'm very disappointed. They did take the meal off the bill, but it didn't really make up for us not all eating together.

I’ve been regularly visiting Home Farm View for a number of years. This last year the service and quality has notably dropped. A previous visit around 4 months ago, I ordered the BBQ platter combo, which was meant to be flame grilled, however you could clearly see and taste that none of it had seen a flame. With the full cooked breakfast, the items are meant to be flame grilled, sausage bacon and even the toast, this morning it was not flamed grilled. The taste is night and day. Quality and attention to detail has been overlooked this past year. It’s unfortunate. I was also charged for the wrong table this morning. 🤷🏽

1st time in a long time since we were here. Good choices on menu. Quick service. Our servers were Ashleigh and Erin. Lovely lassies. Nice apperance, friendly and helpful. Good choices on menu. Food was piping hot. Toilets was spotless so was restaurant.. good value for the money.

Forgot to say that the lunch menu is very reasonable price and good size. Also tried Guinness Zero for the first time - good.

Food woz not hot the chips were cold rest of meal only warm portions small and from being seated to having starter then meal took just under a hour and a half very slow service And the bill woz £90 disgrace to what woz served definitely will not be back it's never improved from over a year ago when last there very disappointing I hope management will respond to this even though its not nice feed back also ladies toilet all cubicles locked apart from 1 toilet and won't very clean either 😢 Further to my email I sent to the email I had been giving bellow that I sent on the 9th of September 2024 and date today is 17th September 2024 I still have not had a response from the owner or had any any response to Try and resolve this just shows you there only interested in making and taking your money and not trying to resolve issues thank you for a ruined night very much appreciated From a very unhappy customer Mr William howie

I had the mixed grill, it was very poor, not much meat. Very small steak not cooked as asked. More chips than meat. Won't be returning.

Food was terrible, avoid this place. Service was also poor, waited too long for food, was even told after a 20 minute wait that a desert selection was out of stock

Different review here. After ordering drinks & meal for 3 people. A personal emergency came up and myself plus two had to leave immediately. Apologised to our server, who was so understanding, I offered to pay for our drinks (that were poured)and was told not to worry about it, She saw we needed to leave immediately. Cracking Service, thanks and will certainly return.

Got the hunter chicken for lunch waited long time for it for to be burnt and over cooked. They did offer to make an other one didn't accept 🤮🤮

Disappointing visit to my favourite place. We ordered a vegetable pie which was too hard to cut with the knife. The replacement order was ok accept the chips where not great and had to be left, the gammon and fried egg where ok too. The steak sandwich was not great and the ciabatta was stale and the reason was that its like that once toasted but never had that before. Best thing about it was the fries and I won't be back.

Partners mac n cheese wasn't to her taste. Not cheesy enough and it was like it was heated up in a microwave.

Popped in with my family for dinner, was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful. Portions were very good, and they had an offer on over the holidays, so my youngest ate for free, welcomed bonus 😉 indeed.

Review: Disappointing Experience at Home Farm View Restaurant I've always been a loyal patron of Home Farm View Restaurant, but our recent visit this Monday was deeply disappointing, falling far short of the quality we've come to expect. The chicken skewers were exceptionally dry and almost inedible, paired with a salad that looked wilted and aged, as if it had been left out too long. The mixed grains side dish served with the steak was equally disappointing—soggy and waterlogged, making it entirely unappetising. I requested my steak rare, but it arrived medium and, to my surprise, cold. Even the ribs, usually a highlight of the meal, were underwhelming: a smaller portion than usual and served cold. It was clear the kitchen was having an off day, but that didn’t lessen our frustration. Service, typically a strong point, was severely lacking. Only one server was covering the entire dining area, and they seemed visibly unhappy. We had to actively seek them out just to get a dessert menu, clear our table, or even obtain a straw. The overall experience left us feeling neglected and unwelcome. Our disappointment was so great that we chose to skip dessert, a treat we usually anticipate. Sadly, this experience has likely cost Home Farm View some regular customers—my parents and myself included. While we've always enjoyed our meals here, this visit was a significant letdown. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues, but for now, we'll be dining elsewhere

Ladies bathroom was smelling of sewage which put me off right away. Staff were friendly and looked like they were very overworked. Food was not of a great quality and 2 of our group were disappointed with their mixed grill. My fish and chips came out and it wasn't like it used to be a nice slice of battered fish instead it was like a cooked frozen fillet exactly like I had in the Compass. The manager however didn't charge me for it. Need to change back to nice fish as in Scotland we are used to eating nice fish and chips even if the price has to go up.

Place was empty yet after 10 minute wait for host to seek a walk in table for two, host informed it would be 30 wait before order be taken because they had a big table (the place was empty and car park was far from full). Host asked if that was alright? Pfft no we left and shan’t return. Went to nearby establishment which had busy car park and enjoyed a good starter and main with reasonable prices with very good service. These guys are not offering good service. Of course we can’t comment on the food. A definite no return to here.

Had a lovely time here for dinner with my husband. We haven't had a date in a few years, I am also generally anxious person, the reason I say this is because the atmosphere is so relaxed and our server, Mags went above and beyond, she made me feel at ease throughout the whole experience which helped me feel less anxious, The food was amazing and we were served quickly to. First time visiting in years but we will definitely return. Had a late lunch with my parents, who don't like to eat too early so arrived just before 4pm. Very nicely cooked food, good portion size for a lunch or early dinner and well priced. Friendly staff

Unfortunately the day we chose to eat here half the items on the menu wasn't available so can't say we had a great experience.Did ask to change the chicken fajitas for steak fajitas (willing to pay extra) but wasn't possible apparently! Would have had to pay for a chicken one then add the price of a steak on top really??

Went here on Friday, my daughter's took me for my birthday lunch. I chose the fish and chips. The best fish I have had in years. Gutted I couldn't finish it. Cheaper than a fish supper at a chippy and 10 times better.

It's a nice place to go to get something to eat. We love their burgers, after one you are so full that you want to get nap 😅 Our kids likes going there, they like playing in kids area. The only minus is that at play area seats are breaking down and toilets needs a upgrade

Went for a family dinner to celebrate my wedding. Fantastic atmosphere, my nephew loved the wacky play! Food was delicious; service was fantastic, our waitress Megan was very friendly!

Staff excellent and food was too. No complaints other than the fact that another table complained about their food, only after they had eaten the full plate and the staff handled that so professionally.

The foods alright, but the staff have been great every visit. Can't say we've ever had a bad member of staff, but we've ended up with Megan 3 times and she's always very friendly.

Just had a lovely meal here. Took the 2 kids and they had lots of fun in the soft play. Our server Morgan was lovely. Really friendly and always with a smile on her face even though there was a few difficult questions. There was a delay with the food and she came to let us know. This didn't bother us as we were not in a rush for our food but it was appreciated that she let us know. No complaints from us. 🙂
