Takeaway - Decent food but had heard amazing things. Disappointingly they don’t do a Jalfrezi, Pathia or a Karahi.

Managers have no manner to deal people. Stupid and illiterate Never recommend to any one.

Best Indian takeaway in the area. Their paneer dishes are amazing. Their vegetables are really well cooked and their sauces have amazing flavours without being too spicy!

Poor customer service from just eat, they assigned a driver who never turned up, had to ring the restaurant and get one of their drivers to deliver the food late. Not the restaurants fault

when driver finally got here he turned up with someone else order. Had to phone restaurant twice first time I was told my order was still at restaurant. Then I was told they would have to re-do my order and send it out .Needless to say I'm still waiting for my order

I placed an order hours ago which was supposed to be delivered an hour ago, I have called the phone line hundreds of times and nobody picks up. Looking at previous reviews this seems to have happened many times which is absolutely crazy to me. Please contact me as soon as possible and issue a full refund. For anybody else thinking about placing an order please do not order from this place.

We placed an order here on 6 March 2024 which was never delivered. Their phone lines are not working and they made no attempt to contact us regarding the order. We are still trying to obtain a refund for the order.

Waited over two hours for the delivery of our family meal (mid week). Called after 1 hour wait and was told it would be no longer than another 20 mins. It was a lie. They wouldn’t pick up the phone for the rest of the evening after that and there was no other way to contact them. Also no apology on delivery. Very miserable experience for all. Sadly we will take now be taking our loyal custom elsewhere.

The curry was not there with the biryani. So it was dry. Don’t know why the curry is missing.

Never eaten in the restaurant but have had food delivered from Holy Cow multiple times. This is easily one of my favourite takeaway places, the food is absolutely delicious and when I have a curry from somewhere else it just seems disappointing in comparison to the Holy Cow food.

Great food I order from them a lot always good quality

Ordered for takeaway for a specific time then turned up to pick up but no order was put through. The girl clearly has trouble telling the time so I went elsewhere. If you have someone taking orders surely they need to be competent to work out timings of when customers arrive to pick up their food. I wont go here again.

Have ordered takeaways from here for years but will no longer do so as the prices have increased and the food quality has gone down. It's a real shame used to be a gem!

Dry chicken. Stale breads. Didn’t taste fresh

Last time I ordered they gave me a potato dish instead of spinach. I called them and they promised to send extra spinach dish next time and not add the potato dish. Just received my order and it was with the potato dish and instead of an extra serving of spinach to make up for last time there were onion bhaji’s. I took the tiny bit of spinach that I could find in potato dish and left all the potatoes. I wouldn’t mind so much if the menu did state that they would provide a spinach dish. But ups

Primarily get take-out from here but have also eaten in. The food is consistently delicious and generous. Take-out (always collection) is timely. Front of counter staff are always friendly.

I'm giving 2 star because missing items

I took Lamb Biriyani from here. The curry with it wasn’t very tasty. The biriyani overall wasn’t as tasty compared to other places with lower price and the amount of meat was less as well. It was okay but I’d get Biriyani from somewhere else if I have the chance.

Poor Biryani no flavour and the curry nothing to shout out about. Disappointed to say the least. Good delivery person.

This restaurant is a must. The atmosphere is really calm and the food is delicious. What's more, the waitress and waiters treated us very politely at all times and it was a very kid-friendly place.

Great tasting food. Probably the best curry I’ve had in a while and generous portions.

Have had multiple takeaways from Holy Cow in Putney over many years and it used to be reliably very good. However, have recently found the quality of the food to be quite variable, eg the spice level of the same dish has varied widely in different orders. So if Holy Cow could fix this consistency issue, that would be brilliant (and we’d eat from them more often!).

Absolutely love their delivery. Been ordering for over 10 years. Going strong. Always yummy, generous, friendly and on time. Simply the best! That’s so much guys.

Just when I thought Holy Cow Putney could not get any better, it does. All the staff are so friendly and cheerful. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is beyond gorgeous. The chef has magic hands!! and such a skill for producing the perfect blend of spices and ingredients. Cannot recommend Holy Cow Putney highly enough. Holy Cow Putney. Pure salt. Salmon was not billed as spicy or hot, but my daughter couldn't eat it, it was so fiery, even for me and I'm a chilli addict. I was excited about ordering from them, because I had heard the food was good, but we had to throw it out. I guess it depends on the chef who was on duty,

I have been going here for years and have always loved it but in my latest curry the meat was of such questionable quality I couldn't eat it. This used to be such a great restaurant, it is so sad to see it going down hill.

Really good meal. Staff were helpful. We had a late meal due to travel but despite the fact the kitchen was due to close soon they were very accommodating. We ordered both starters, tandoori and curries all dishes excellent. I absolutely recommend this place. Keep up the good work !

We ordered a tikka masala and onion bhajis. Bhajis were okay, I'm not surprised to see other people mentioning that the curry was completely flavourless and is pretty much Heinz tomato soup with a bit of curry seasoning and few bits of chicken in it... The worst 'curry' we've ever had, can't even call that a curry. It's watery,bland and 100% made with Heinz tomato soup as the base!!... Please don't waste your time or money. The owners/managers should stop thinking that their customers are stupid, will just cost you business in the end.

Got a delivery, mostly tasty, well packaged, and hot. However I do not recommend the tikka masala, it tasted exactly like heinz tomato soup.

The boy with the two silver earrings is Handsome!! I went tonight and got the black lentil daal, chicken that was very green haha mango chutney which was amazing, roti, rice and farsali. I didn’t like the chicken because of the color or the lentils but that is just my preference. They gave me a thin crisp which I like!! I went to the take out portion of the restaurant . Portions are so/so for the price, but I could tell there food is very much enjoyed as there were soo many take out orders!

Usually love Holy cow lamb tikka Masala. Ordered a chicken tikka for delivery. Lord oh mercy it was basically plain chicken in a Henz tomato soup sauce. Made me heave couldn't even eat it. Didn't taste like a curry at all had no flavour . Really upset no wonder they did buy 1 get one free on that one. Never again . Couldn't even send a mint dip for all the poppadoms that I requested also

We called by last Saturday while visiting our son, he'd had a good experience with takeaways so we gave it go and so pleased that we did. The restaurant was excellent ☺️ The service was excellent 😊 The food was excellent ☺️ We'll definitely be returning.

The girl on phone was very unprofessional, rude. When I called to order food for delivery, I had to ask my friend how many he wants to order but the girl got fade up with us and didn't even let us order the food and hung up on me saying 'oh my god.

Family order from here has they like spicy/hot curry I do not but if you order a korma or a buttery chicken it it is still hot to mouth Do not order from here if you like a mild curry

The restaurant was cold and depressing all painted brown The tables did not have table cloths just a wooden table The Jalfreze tasted nice but the rice came in a bowl which the rice was heated up in as it had a crusted top and under this it was soft

Food was an hour and twenty minutes late and cold (and so arrived at 9:40pm…!) and kept being told the driver was on their way for the last 40 minutes when I rang twice to chase the order. Won’t be a surprise that I won’t be ordering again!

We had a lovely meal here, the Paanch Mirch paneer and butter chicken were delicious. The staff are also very friendly, especially the Polish lady Anna who served us. Would definitely recommend!

Came here for a pre- Fathers Day Meal Weds 16th June with my son. In summary we had a great time, Good Bers, Lovely Food, Great Service, Value for Money & Take Away "doggy" box consumed tonight 17th..5 starts out of 5 for definite. Has a 1930 booking I arrived 1915 & had a Holy Cow Brown Ale on the rear outside Terrace while I waited for son's arrival from Whitehall courtesy of SW Rail's total megaflop service that evening..Restaurant next to iuts very successful take-away section which my son had used extensively over lockdown. Evidentally this was juts week 2 of restaurant re-opening. Felt fine from a COVID angle. Good Air Con in he inside restaurant section. Nice decor, modern looking with what appears to be a sit up at stool bar, maybe used when busy & waiting a table. prompt service by some keen and very pleasant waitresses. Son turns up c 15 mins late - thank you SW railway..We move to restaurant I'm still enjoying the Holy Cow Brown Ale [on draught] - try it ! But for meal switch to Cobra. Poppadoms arrive with sauces without asking plsu menu's of course. Menu has extensive Indian menue but also a vegetarian section plus [boring] large non_indian food listing so if with someone not into Indian food you can have it & they have a streak or lamb or vegetarian something. I decided on a Pakora to start, my son had Aloo Chat. The Cobra sliding down well. Now we both came on train, there is nearby street parking, usually payment needed before 6pm in week but ok weekends. Just check. BUT BIG BUT from c 24 October the dreaded ULEZ zone extended to any street North of South Circular here...so if you've a 13 yr old Diesel then that would be a liability oif £17.50 for driving/parkign there..unfair because if you're an Oligarch's son with a 2020 Disel Bentley [ if they exist ] you pay zip. Bus stops virtually outside check on map. Putney station c 4 mins max - most trying to x road, East Putney Tube c s walk. Back to the munchies. Attentive service from waitress staff. Both enjoyed ou=r starters then came our mains - I had the Murgh something, my son another dish [ Cobra fatuigue here ] with 2 lots of Pilao rice, 1 sg=hared aloo gobi & a peshwari naan. All tasty, served in neat dishes, looked small but boy filled you up. 3rd Cobra beer slipping down well. Ended up both =satisfied enough not to contemplate deserts but saw they had nice ones on offer or coffee. However what to do with basically 1 rice portion plus murgh left over & aloo gobi. Well "doggy" tupperware to the rescue save the aloo gobi which we left, probably fine but we were full up. All put into 2 seperate tupperware boxes & in a take-away bag. Total damage was for 2 lost of popadoms [very big portion], 2 starters, 2 mains plus rice, plus peshwari nan plus aloo gobil, plus 1 holy cown draught brown ale & =6 bottles of Cobra [ I'll cut down I promise ] came to £86 w/out service. seems a lot & thats down to the beer I think But to me great value. Lovely tasteful food, god serice but not intrusive, nice decor, great draught beers, take away in palstic boxes...To give it 6 stars out of 5 all it needed was a free take away umbrella as we left in a rainstorm deciding against a uber for a 5 minute walk in warm rain. Great food, great place, come along and enjoy yourself here. James S.

Have returned post lockdown and enjoyed a great meal. Nice atmosphere with some outdoor covered tables now out back that look good. Food was good quality and team were happy to let us tweak dishes to get exactly what we wanted. This is fast becoming our go to indian restaurant when we fancy a nice curry.

Great food for a takeaway but so poor with delivery times. The past 3 orders have been late. In fact, very late. Like nearly an hour later from time they said we can expect. My advice is don’t order from here if you are hungry & expect a quick delivery. And they have to stop making an excuse that it’s a Friday night blah blah blah.

Gandhi delivered our order and as usual was friendly and helpful. He told us about the new services being offered by Holy Cow where they now deliver wine and beer.

I love holy cow, especially for Gandhi who always stops for a chat which makes my day and the takeaway that much more special! Keep it up guys!

I’ve left a poor review before and I am leaving another one because I think people should know that although they reply to Google reviews asking you to email them, they then do not answer your emails. Such poor customer service and their answering of Google reviews feels like it is just for show. This makes me think that they have no intention of resolving any issues.

My husband and I repeatedly have a nightmare with Holy Cow in Putney. Every single time we order it is always much later than the agreed delivery time - it tends to arrive around 2 hours after you order. The food is excellent - hence why we keep ordering, but the delivery service and drivers are abysmal and this part of the service is suffering and letting the restaurant down. As I type this, I am still waiting for my order - almost two hours after I ordered it...

They are incapable of delivering on time or communicating delivery times. This is unfortunate, because the food is good.

We should have checked the google reviews before ordering as it seems our experience is pretty common. We placed an order and were told to expect the food in 45 mins but 90 mins later we were still waiting. We phoned up numerous times, only to be told the food was 5 minutes away. We eventually got the food, stone cold, almost 2 hours after the original order was placed. Manager was unapologetic and quite frankly rude. Please do yourself a favour and order from somewhere else.

Appalling customer service. Ordered food at 19:30 and told we could expect a 30 min wait. 5 calls and 110 mins later, we have still not received our food. Spoke to the manager who said he could not get hold of the delivery driver after promising the driver was “5 mins away” for the last 30 mins. Very disappointing.

I've tried a few in the Wandsworth area but these guys are winning the race so far

I must admit I have a soft spot for the place nextdoor but this is not bad at all. Did a takeaway Murg masala with garlic naan and the portion was more than decent as well as tasty. Also we got couple free poppadoms with mango chutney, I only found out at home! Nice touch. Will be coming back for sure.

If I could give zero stars... I placed an order at 19.25. The food turned up cold at 20.35. I called the manager and asked for a refund or a credit on the account. He said he couldn’t do that but could send me hot food within 15 minutes. It arrived 45 minutes later. No apology - atrocious customer service.
