My experience at this hotel was deeply disappointing for two main reasons: Heating issues The heating in the room, controlled via the air conditioning system, did not work. I set it multiple times before going to bed, with the display showing it was set to 24 degrees, and I could hear the unit running. However, I woke up in the middle of the night to find the room cold. I tried adjusting it again, but it made no difference. In the morning, I reported this issue to reception and was informed that if I wanted the heating to work, I needed to request it at the front desk so they could activate it via administration. Seriously? Every guest has to call or visit reception just to turn on the heating? This is incredibly inconvenient and unacceptable. Humiliating treatment during meals Although I stayed for only one night, I was twice treated as a second-class guest during meals: During dinner, the waiter asked me where I’d like to sit. I pointed to a spot, sat down, and waited. After 15 minutes, I had to call the waiter because he seemed to wander aimlessly with the soup. When I finally received it, the portion was tiny—just a small bowl with barely any soup. After finishing, another waitress approached me and asked me to move to a different table—a single chair in a passageway where people were constantly walking by. This was uncomfortable and humiliating, and other guests noticed. Some later told me they felt sorry for me and thought it was incredibly rude of the staff. The next morning at breakfast, a similar situation occurred. Midway through my meal, yet another waitress came and asked me to move to a different table. This time, I didn’t respond but was once again made to feel unwelcome. I later discussed these incidents with reception, and while I did receive an apology, the experience left me feeling deeply humiliated. Overall, my stay at this hotel was marred by poor service and a complete lack of respect for guests. I cannot recommend it.

We are currently Staying at the hotel duty manager teodorra was extremely rude to my child and started shouting at her and us and said what kund of parents are you ehen my daughter was onky trying to convince us to get her snack/chocolate she has no right to shout at my child and say any such rubbish i am absolutely fuming at her remarks i am going to take serious action against her as we are diamond elite members of uhg we have travelled around the world and no one has ever behaved like this absolutely ridiculous behaviour i want answer from general manager for this asap

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the unacceptable behavior of one of your duty managers, Teodora, during my stay at your property, which began on 23-11-2024. As a Diamond Elite Member, I have come to expect and appreciate the high standard of service typically associated with Holiday Inn Express, but this experience was entirely inconsistent with those expectations. During my stay, Teodora displayed rude, unprofessional, and discriminatory behavior. Specifically, she yelled at my autistic child in a manner that was both hostile and deeply upsetting. Her actions were not only inappropriate but also lacked any semblance of understanding or empathy. No child—especially one with special needs—should ever be subjected to such treatment by any member of your staff. I was also shocked by the tone and demeanor she used, which were unacceptably confrontational and made me feel unwelcome as a guest. This incident has left me questioning the values and commitment of Holiday Inn Express to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all its guests, especially families traveling with children. As a Diamond Elite Member, I have consistently chosen IHG hotels because of the exceptional service and respect I expect to receive. This experience has undermined my trust in your establishment and cast doubt on your ability to uphold these standards. I am requesting the following actions: 1. A formal investigation into the incident. 2. Appropriate disciplinary measures against Teodora for her unprofessional conduct. 3. A written apology from her, along with assurance that your staff will receive training to prevent such incidents in the future. I trust that you will address this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and provide me with an update on the steps being taken to resolve this issue. I look forward to hearing back within seven business days. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I value the relationship I have built with Holiday Inn Express over the years and hope to continue it without any further experiences of this nature.

Was given a free biscuit as a Silver IHG member, quite the life achievement. Room was clean and more importantly quiet, had the side facing away from the M6. Parking is easily accessible and free. The breakfast items were well cooked, full english to start the day is always welcomed. Ideal for work trips.

My wife and myself stayed one night on a National Holidays weekend. What a brilliant hotel, our room provided everything we needed, attention to detail had been thoughtfully put together. Every member of staff we met were an absolute credit to the company, thoughtful, attentive, efficient and happy! big shout out for Jackie👍 Breakfast and three course evening meal were well adequate and again served by happy staff👍 I have to agree that the breakfast bacon was dry and barely warm but all things considered we would definitely use this hotel again. Well done Holiday Inn Express Walsall 😊☺️.

Stayed here 3 times for work and they have been consistently fabulous. Great service, considerate staff and clean rooms. One star off due to proximity to the M6, but can't be heard of windows are closed and didn't keep me awake even when they were open and I was motorway side. Very convenient if you're coming from the south and travelling into Wolverhampton though. Assume from the north too. Thank you to the lovely teams each time I stayed, you all did a great job.

I stayed for one night at this Holiday Inn Express and found it great value for money, the room was well equipped and clean. Breakfast was included, there was lots of choice and fresh food. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Breakfast limiting for a vegan, no mushrooms sausages like cardboard, needed a pair of scissors to open brown sauce sachet, scrambled eggs tasted chemically, not the best breakfast. Not overly friendly welcome, as arrived soaking wet from the rain. Assistant at Breakfast very friendly

We always stay here when we visit Walsall. Excellent staff. The ambience is great. Breakfast is free and enjoyable. Could add some more ir different dishes to their evening menu. Example a Caribbean dish.

My wife and I are not regulars of the Ocean Fish Bar, but following a pleasant experience on an autumnal Saturday evening we might now be. I was undecided regarding what I wanted and had to phone my wife to check her specific preferences from the impressive menu selection too! On this visit I was served by Alice who was extremely patient and very helpful in assisting me with my culinary choices. Thank you Alice.

Great staff, good selection of drinks and newly changed menu. The chicken coated in crushed nachos was particularly good. We were served by Tammy who was really helpful and friendly. We will definitely return next time we stay at the premier inn next door.

came here first time we sat in a booth and had to squeeze in to sit down and had booster seats to sit next to us on the seat..had a look at the menu some things are pricey for what they are ..I had a English breakfast was nice but fish fingers didn't like they didn't taste nice ..the karak chai wasn't made right..nice place to have a catch up but pricey for what u get
