Hoi Kee in Coventry

Read reviews and thought would try this as normal Chinese is closed Chicken Szechuan - had a funny after taste and was left after 3 bits of chicken . Beef black bean sauce- beef was chewy and full of gristle and sauce thick and lumpy. Chicken chow-mein very average at best Egg fried rich was hard like it had been warmed up Salt and chilli chips well was just salt chips no spice what so ever So disappointed and was waste of money

Called in to Hoi Kee to order at 6.00pm 31/12/2024, 3 items nothing out of the ordinary. Was busy with about 8 people waiting, dome people were querying where there order was and within a few minutes seem to find it, telephone orders were being quoted 1 hour wait. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes I queried were my order was, the lady looked at me in surprise and went off to see where it was, she came back and asked me again for the third time what i had ordered and then told me it had been lost, not happy and requested my money back, no apology. So Hoi kee you are definitely off the Chinese takeaway list

A cut above the other local Chinese takeaways. Szechuan crispy beef was actually crispy and delicious, sweet and sour sauce was not the usual toxic pink goo that you get from other restaurants...think this had some ginger in? Either way, also delicious... Very helpful staff too.

It is ok, I would say average with the food but the service was very quick as I ordered a set meal

After months of trying various restaurants around Coventry we always go here(over 5 years now),old school style collection only but well worth it.food is absolutely gorgeous,cooked fresh with great portions and full of flavour….

Food is good but service is very bad. Ordered food and it came very promptly. Waited outside in car. Went inside to collect and was given change in tub. On arrival home realised change was incorrect. Phoned and was informed they couldnt do nothing about this. I knew they had short changed me as that was the only money i had. They stated they would check the till and to call back Tuesday. Called back on Wednesday as it was now a principal as i didnt need the money. They stated the till was fine and i should do what ever when stated I would put a post on. Not a good response. A apology would have been good. Very rude staff.

I did not rate the food at all. I ordered a Cantonese style sweet and sour chicken. What I got was a cheap nasty chicken breast covered in bread crumbs and sweet chilli sauce. If I wanted that I would have gone to Iceland and brought and cooked it myself .

Terrible! One of the worst I've ever had. Everything over cooked and portions were so small they only filled half of a chinese tub. oddly enough the don't take card payments either. AVOID!!!!!
