Great prompt and efficient service and reasonably priced good tasting food, from spring rolls to ribs, crisp chicken and great beef chow mein and good duck curry with pork, yes I would say best Chinese in Wells, you have my vote 👍🏻

Amazing friendly service and the best curry I’ve had in years we had beef curry s/s chicken balls fried rice and spring rolls loved every bit of it will definately come here again if passing through.

Friday 7th at around 7pm. Really disappointed with the food. Beef chow mein was a small portion (rice sized tub) small pieces of chewy beef and little flavour to the dish. Burnt taste to dish. Sweet and sour chicken balls (they wouldn't do half portions), not crispy and thick batter which was soggy towards centre. Chicken was chewy and dry. Sweet and sour sauce tasted nice but wasn't much thicker than water. Mushroom chow mein, enjoyable but bland. Duck szechuan which was hot (spicy) which was nice but burnt taste to dish some of the veg in it seemed overcooked too. Egg fried rice, disaster looked like they beaten it into tiny pieces before cooking, barely any egg and was very dry. I very much doubt we will be back.

Great curry sauce but now incredibly expensive, just chips on their own are now more than £3!

This was the worst Chinese meal we have ever had. There was lots of it. Normally a good thing, but in this case it was not; it just filled the bin. The food was bland, tasteless and floury.

Really good Chinese food with a great selection of dishes and often the only take away open in Wells.

Used this take away while staying at wookey hole hotel. Superb food and quick service.

Ended up with a takeaway to take back to our cottage on the Sunday whilst visiting Somerset... couldn't get a roast anywhere so settled on takeaway. 3 of us were very happy with our food and ate it all... The hot n sour soup is the BEST I have had in years! I could have eaten that again. Only criticism I could make is that I expected the chicken fried rice to be in the bigger sized dishes rather than the smaller ones, but was delicious all the same.

Duck chow mein was bland with duck having a twangy taste. Sweet and sour chicken balls were soft and not at all crunchy. Spent nearly 28 there tonight and I will certainly not be going back ,not nice at all.

There are many mixed reviews on here for Ho Ho I found food good and hot and enjoyable would give 5 stars 🌟 if they accepted card payment

Not recommended. My mum ended up in hospital with severe food poisoning. Egg fried rice was the causes of the food poisoning. Order was placed on 11th November.

Best Chinese in Wells, especially recommend the Cantonese style sweet and sour chicken.

As a regular customer I’ve never had any issues when ordering previously but tonight I had an awful experience. They got my order wrong and when I phoned up to let them know of their mistake I was told that they didn’t get it wrong and it was what I ordered, I told the guy multiple times I wouldn’t have ordered it as I don’t eat chilli food. He was very rude to me and put the phone down on me. Absolutely terrible customer service!

Normally I don't write reviews but.... Only went there as Sunrise in Shepton is only open till 9 on Wednesday. Beef noodles tasteless, beef in black bean sauce not spicy at all and instead sweet and sour chicken balls I get some rice and bag of prawn crackers. Not happy at all. My first and last time in there

Picked up takeaway on our 1st night in the area. All the food we had was lovely and quite reasonable. If we lived in area would definitely go back again

Ho Ho never disappoints. I've been getting takeaways here for many years and not only is the food consistently good (ribs with salt and chill is a must) but the service is perfect. Even if it's busy, you're given an accurate wait time and, if it's over 20 minutes (rare) just pop up the road for a pint and come back. I love this place and always have.

Last week part of the order was wrong and it went uneaten (allergy) , I telephoned and told them they messed up and they agreed to rectify it on the following weeks order - recompense turned out to be a bag of crackers - not what regular customers expect! “Should have returned it at the time’ server admitted he messed up! Not the way to run a local business!

We had a lovely meal from the hoho house, the chap working on the counter is very kind, it's only a small place and can get busy. It's the best Chinese we have ever had, and will be back again soon.

It's rare to find a Chinese takeaway this good outside of a large city. Every dish was absolutely first rate. When I visit Wells, my in laws usually order from "the other place". My mission is to switch their allegiance to Ho Ho House.

Food is excellent and quite authentic, Kung Pao is really good as are the curries and schezuan. Not had anything bad at all.

The chilli garlic and salt prawns, and chilli garlic salt chips are unreal! 😋 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely service. I'm a tourist here so must admit to only trying a couple of dishes but they were good. They have the old classic fat pancake roll which was delicious and not at all greasy. Special fried rice with sauce very good as was the chips with curry sauce.

We had a takeaway for three on the basis of the better reviews on TA. We found the whole experience very disappointing. The food was either bland or had decidedly strange flavours ... would not go again. Sorry.

Just travelled 6 miles to order a Ho Ho special curry, boiled rice and a portion of chips. They came out repeated my order with the bag, I travelled 6 miles home to find it is a completely different order and the chips had so much salt on, I felt like i could drink an ocean dry. So result was nearly £7 worth of food in the food bin. Will not return ever. Nothing like daylight robbery.

Was expecting a different kind of Ho house but was pleasantly surprised with the delicious takeaway food. Definitely recommend, you will be assured a happy ending.

If this is a well rated Chinese round here I'm blown away .. my particular meal was awful.. fried rice was good and that's all. Never had such s dull and bland meal we a agreed.. hence review

Fried rice and chow mein dishes excellent. Beware the chilli crispy beef. Normally my favourite but actually inedible!

I have never seen so many onions in a Chinese meal in my entire life. I could hardly taste the rest of the ingredients. There was barely any sauce in the containers to pour over the rice. But to be fair, that may be the way you like it in England. It's just different to how we do it in Australia.

The only Chinese in wells they are a mean lean food prepareing machine

The quality of the food is wonderful, full of flavour, you can now order on line & delivered, arrived promptly & hot. The best we have had in a long time, now a firm favourite

Having arrived in Wells at 2105hrs on Saturday night after a 10 hour drive fromGermany really wanted some Fish and Chips but the 'chippy' closes at 2100!! therefore had to settle for Ho Ho House. Glad I did. The food was excellent, much better than the chip shop in my opinion, and the service fast and friendly.

I ordered a beef dish, but it was overwhelmed with onions to bulk it out. Room for improvement there. Shame seaweed isn't on the menu

Loved it amazing food cannot fault it.

Chicken was dry. Dishes tastes very similar. All dishes bulked up with onions, rather than spring onions. The service was helpful, however.

Good service for Chinese takeaway,

Quick service, nice chips, really nice Sweet and Sour sauce. Unfortunately the pork (hong kong style) were small gristly chunks which had been overfried / or had dried during storage, very chewy and not pleasant

Really enjoyed the food we ordered. We had a selection of food from the menu and it was all very tasty. It was well packaged and arrived home safely,still very hot.

We stayed near priddy and decided to visit wells on what can only be described as the hottest may bank holiday on record. We decided during a refreshment break that a group takeaway back at our campsite was a must. We google nearest takeaway and found this gem. Not much to look at, but don't let this distract you from the delicious food we had prepared freshly for us. We had two set meals for 4 and it was worth every penny and very reasonable too....

It is the best ever chinese place in wells i would defimitely recomend

Ordered the set meal for two. Not sure what we were eating, sweet and sour pork was tough, chewy and grizzle. Chicken dish was also chewy and the meal was only warm. Definately won’t be going back it was a dreadful meal!

You can do better try the Chinese in cheddar

Not a very nice meal, sweet and sour sauce was very bitter and was not able to eat. Pancake roll was very soggy , not crispy at all. Food quality seems to be going downhill

I grabbed some salt and chilli ribs just as passing as someone had recommended it to me. They were really delicious and they’d added in a free mini bag of prawn crackers which I thought was cute. Shall be back when we next order a takeaway :-)

As a take away, this is a good bet although they don’t deliver. The food is good, especially the Singapore Noodles!

Very poor Cantonese food. The food we have ordered are very salty. The way the have been cooked. What I called, Chinese food for the English people.

We've just had the freshest tasting Chinese take out ever from ho ho house in Wells. One of us cannot eat onion so we requested if the dishes could be prepared without it and we were told 'certainly, no problem'! So if you have had an issue with timing with this place, rest assured they're cooking from scratch!

Good food quickly made. Omelette selection will feed 2! Phone in order or read today's newspapers or watch TV while waiting.

Really good food just like eating at the "stalls" or at fatty's in Bugis Street in Singapore in the 1970s. Brilliant, tasty and more than enough. Friendly and courteous service. Fast and well prepared.

We ended an evening in Wells by ordering a takeaway from Ho Ho House. We were not disappointed. Despite not arriving until 9.00 on a Saturday evening our meal was ready in less than 20 minutes. It did not taste like a fast food menu, it was hot, tasty and the portions were of a very good size. We enjoyed it thoroughly.

We have eaten here many time as well as the other Chinese and this one is much better in our opinion. Lots to choose from, good taste and not had a bad meal yet.

Have used Ho Ho House twice now whilst staying in Wells and each time the food we had was very tasty, varied and good value. The phone never stops ringing with new orders, coupled with people (like us) that walk through the door and wait for their food. Good service and would use again when in Wells.

Food is good, but completely unreliable on timing - I've used this lots and wait more than an hour multiple times yet always told 30 minutes - just be honest!

Amazing every time not be let down yet

Lived in Wells all my life,used to love this place.Tonight we ordered up front,as usual,went for a pint,as usual,and our order had been forgotten.Front of house had obviously been ordered to lie.She looked very uncomfortable and I felt sorry for her.After a 25 minute wait it took a further half hour.I know this sounds like a massive whinge but we'd both worked our arses off all day and this was a treat.Food was not up to usual standard. Not happy.Should have stuck to the home cooking plan.
