Great independent place for a good burger. Would recommend it highly. We'll be back!

Tasty, very good quality of meat. Value for money.

Me and our group of 10 were beautifully serviced at Hmm Burger. The experience left me impressed and satisfied. The owner went above and beyond, including providing balloons for our Hen Do celebrations. This restaurant is a must-try for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying burger. I look forward to returning to savor this culinary delight again.

3 stars because mediocre is the best descriptor. Got two burger and chips to take out as a dinner for two, while the burger tasted nice it was incredibly dry which only happens when the thing is overcooked, really ruined the meal for me. Chips were average at best. Can't fault the staff though, they were quite nice.

The food was good. The beer is a complete rip-off. Only have small beers, so it works out about £12 a pint. I would not recommend it, and I won't be returning.

My favourite burger place. It was recommended by some friends and since I tried, I bring everyone who visits me to this place. The clucker a pulled pork are my favourites, and the sweet potato fries are delicious. It's also worth trying the desserts (cheesecake and warm sponge in the photos). The staff is very friendly and polite, and helpful if you have some dietary restrictions.

Had a great meal there this evening, a group of 6. Tables were joined to accommodate us. There was a wheelchair user present who had also been accommodated in the space. A cyclist delivery person returned several times during our meal so clearly locals order from here too. No missing food or drink items. The food was cooked for us so took a little while but was therefore fresh and hot and well-presented, and delicious. The waitress was attentive but not annoyingly so. Fries portions were generous. No one in our group left any food. Very reasonably priced too. Would recommend and will seek out again in future.

Hmmburger is the perfect place to go to when you’re fancying a great burger, the patties are seasoned really well and they don’t make the mistake of overfilling the burgers with sauce or toppings allowing you to really taste the excellent mixture of flavours. Most places always get chicken burgers wrong but not Hmmburger, it is almost always nicely prepared and tasty. I would highly recommend Hmmburger if you don’t want just a normal burger but a brilliant meal.

I'm so sorry. We spent £56 on food that was so salty I'd never normally spend that.. 56 2 kids miles a %2 burgers Milk shales alone are nearing £8 for nothing..

I really enjoyed homemade burgers, they are from outer space 🚀 Also they have really good choice of drinks, cold and hot. Decoration creates a rustic, cozy atmosphere.. Recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I've been to lots of Burger places all over the UK and in the USA. This place was a good (pleasant) surprise, as it is now in my top 3. Burgers were large (6oz) and tasty, plus cooked how you like, (rare/medium/well done etc). Sides were also great. We had fries, home made onion rings, coleslaw and sweet potato fries. All were tasty and well cooked. The only negative would be the Burger Buns...why is it that every Burger joint these days insist on serving Brioche Buns, I appreciate it maybe a fashion fad, but...why not offer a choice?! 🍔 🍟

£30 for 2 burgers without chips... Dont get me wrong, they are tasty but we are not in freaking Dubai guys, we are in Newmarket.... 🤣

Service super friendly, quick and effective. Chips and onion rings were ok and I liked the fact thar they has a "skinny" burger withour bread. However the burgers were overcooked and the rest (cheese, bacon, etc) was average. Disappointing as I had heard good things.

Best burgers in Newmarket, possibly the world. And the salted caramel milkshake is beyond compare.

Took my wife and son (aged 4) recently and it was not good. Can't fault the friendly service but the food was awful. The burgers were dry and overcooked, which was very disappointing considering it's all you do. Five Guys burgers are far, far better; this was as bad as a Harvester. The small amount of chips (served in a small metal cup - put them on the bloody plate) were oily and tasteless. Also, the expensive milkshakes were under-flavoured so essentially, it was literally a 'milk-shake'. All this cost £55. First and last visit.

The food wasn’t too bad, burgers & shakes. But the menus were dirty & sticky, and the tops of the sauce bottles were disgusting with congealed sauces around it. Needs more attention to the cleaning as it’s off putting when you’re there to eat

Good choice of burgers and different versions. All reasonably priced too although have to buy sides separately but portions big - we had a burger each and shared a fries which was more than enough. Really nice and we both enjoyed! Only negative was smelled a little bit foisty/damp where we were sitting and wasn’t overly clean with wonky table too. Would return though and possibly try to sit outside or takeaway.

We ate in, 1 chilli billy and 1 blue burger with Cajun fries and standard fries. We were sat at a table for almost 20mins after being seated before our order was taken. My partner went to add red sauce to his meal and as he opened it the bottle literally exploded as if it was fermented in the bottle and covered his meal, trousers and top in sauce. I asked if we could have a new plate but before I could say anything else the cutlery and plate were whisked away along with the red sauce, to the staff member. We were seated near the kitchen and could hear comments being made about what we “must have done with the sauce” the food was returned on a different plate and much cooler, no cutlery was replaced or offered and he was forced to eat the food with his hands. Very messy indeed and a totally unsatisfactory experience. We will not be eating there again and will be sure to tell our friends of our experience there. Extremely poor.

Wandered into Hummburger, friendly staff, very tasty burgers at reasonable prices. Cajun flavours and jalapenos do what they are supposed to! Flame grilled taste and large portions. Highly recommended.

Phenomenal service and food!!! Our first time at hamburger and definitely a first of many. Amy(our server) was seriously fantastic!! Burgers were cooked to perfection and Cajun and regular fries so good!! We had a few drinks and the drinks were great as well. Overall this place hands down rocks!!

We ate great burgers. It was really above my expectation. We will come again. I recommend it to those who want to eat a good burger. I especially liked the blue cheese burger.

We ordered on their website, rather than Deliveroo due to it being more expensive. Own website was easy to navigate and we picked it up 20 minutes later. Wow! Amazing burgers, almost picture perfect, and tasted superb! Will deffo order again if I ever fancy a burger in the future!

This restaurant is superb. The first time I visited, I had the chicken sandwich, and it was tender and had excellent flavor. However, the second time I visited, I had the hamburger, and it was truly special - might be the best burger I've had. It was juicy and flavorful but not overly greasy. The bun was fresh and tasty. The fries (chips), milkshakes, and beer were also of the highest quality. The service is attentive and courteous.

We were met by a totally uninterested staff member who seemed shocked that we’d entered, and a restaurant which, although not really busy, took around 40 minutes to put a drink on our table, and that’s only because we asked. There is one young lady working there who seems to be very conscious of, and stressed by the poor system and general conditions. She’s obviously got the whole thing on her shoulders while others underperform. The food? We ordered cheeseburger, “fries” and onion rings. When the food arrived the chips (they were oven chips, not fries) were underwhelming but not terrible, onion rings were ok, burger was cold. The burger is not good meat. It tastes like cheap beef mixed with offal, and it’s obviously one of those hockey puck style, catering burgers which are ordered in bulk, rather than made in-house. The burgers seen on social media and advertising look pretty good, and ours looked quite good, but they’re not…good. I’m quite disappointed. There’s been a burger revolution in recent years, people know how to make a stunning burger with simple ingredients, but I guess for some restaurants the temptation to buy cheap ingredients is too much. And so, ultimately the whole thing will either start being managed properly, or it will go away as quietly as it popped up.

While working in New Market I went out for dinner with a colleague. Hmmburger came highly recommended, it was a very nice meal. Service from the team was excellent. Food came out quickly, had a perfectly cooked burger with Stilton. Would highly recommend.

Great big daddy burgers & salted caramel milkshakes

Just had lunch in hmmburger for the first time and honestly was the best burger I've ever had I wasn't disappointed, I had the big daddy which has 2 of the beef patties and the meat was very nice, also came with cheese, bacon and pulled pork 👌 also ordered some fries and onion rings which were also nice and so was the homeslaw. Will definitely be returning soon.

Don’t be fooled like we were by the enticing burger joint appearance you see from the street - inside you will be greeted by a charmless/awkward completely disinterested member of staff who seems to be almost shocked that someone would actually want to eat there…. That was first warning sign, we were hungry so we threw caution to the wind Eventually we we were seated…. 45 mins to even get our drinks which I’m sure would not have arrived if we had not asked for them. The burgers arrived Separately from the fries which were so hot by the way you could hardly them for 10 minutes and the burgers were very disappointing, cold and the burgers tasted of offal ! Will not be returning !!!

The burger/fries were amazing and fresh! Loved every bite. I wasn't particularly a fan of their pina colada, but other than that, a solid restaurant that I highly recommend.

Very nice location in the centre of Newmarket. The service provided and the food were absolutely spot on and cannot fault it in any way. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to Suffolk.

Very disappointing. Empty at lunchtime apart from one table of 3 who had already been served so we were surprised that our food, 2 burgers and some coleslaw , took 30 mins to arrive. The chicken was dry and I doubt it had been anywhere near buttermilk. The cheeseburger was definitely lacking in flavour. The home slaw…. mainly cabbage in a curry flavoured mayo was old and really unappetising to even look at.

We were just passing through Newmarket and wanted some lunch. This restaurant offers seats inside and outside. The lady who served us came from Czech republic originally and she was very nice, friendly and helpful. If you wanted to know anything about the dishes on offer she explained everything very well. I had a classic burger, with tomato & red onion and the house sauce and home slaw. My husband had a burger with pulled pork and we shared the fries because they were massive. He had a tea and I had a latte. The bill was £30 which I thought was reasonable and both meals were excellent as was the service. Can definitely recommend this restaurant and if we are out this way again I would definitely come back here.

I ordered a fast food delivery on the 29/09/22. I went with a BBQ burger, fries, onion rings and a BBQ dip. This cost took me near twenty quid. Sadly I did not bother with a drink. The food tastes amazing! The fries are very decent, the burgers are tasty. I wish they would do a cheaper meal deal for one person, as I usually order alone.

From Milkshake to a Mojito, and a fantastic burger and sides inbetween.. 5 stars.. Food and Staff were brilliant.. If you are in Newmarket you have to try this place.

Some places really just get simple burger and chips wrong and from the outside I assumed this place would just do mediocre burgers like you tend to get in little café's. Food came out and looked basic but oh my word the taste!!!! Everything was so delicious, we polished off our burgers. I had the grilled chicken burger, I normally avoid grilled chicken because it can go a bit tough and tasteless. This wasn't, flavour was amazing and it was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend trying here!!!!

We tried the veggie options with the most delicious halloumi burger and mushroom/blue cheese burger. Topped off with sweet potato fries this was a delightfully filling lunch. Top food indeed

Where to start…Hmm 😎 First visit. Great friendly staff team, fantastic freshly created burgers that are thick, filling, tasty and delicious. A lovely outlet with a great location allowing you to people-watch and chill out while the world rushes by. Tables and chairs in and outside. We had ‘burger with blue cheese’ - what a great combination. The melted, tangy cheese, was so nicely partnered on the burger, with the fries and onion rings on the side. We also had a ‘cheeseburger’ which was as delicious as the rest; all very nice. Be sure to state if you want your burgers well done as we did - this was perfect for us, with juicy beef full of flavour. We sat indoors, surrounded by the retro factory-type decor. Good selection of drinks, however the milkshakes were very expensive for their size and served in disposable plastic beakers was a little disappointing as we were eating in- maybe some nice retro type glasses would be better suited especially for £6.55 each. That’s constructive criticism- not a complaint. Nice big single lavatory easy for anyone to access and use. 2 Drinks, 2 burgers, 1 fries and 1 onion rings came to a little over £40- not bad for a nice freshly prepared meal together. Would definitely visit again

Went in to Newmarket for some quick lunch and was very happy with the food at hmmburger. There is a massive choice of food available and with out door seating is lovely to take the dog and sit in the sun having lunch. The food was prepared fast and tasted Amazing! I would highly recommend the milkshakes as they were delicious, and the seasoned fries.

I can't fault the customer service, they are so friendly and helpful! My burger was average, for the price it was slightly disappointing and was drowning in sauce, plus the coleslaw had WAY too much mayonnaise for my liking. However if you are debating getting the brownie....GET THE BROWNIE IT IS THE BEST BROWNIE I HAVE TRIED.

So I visited Hmmburger for the first time the other day and I must say that the experience was just wonderful! I was greeted by a lovely young lad, who deserves a shout out (I didn’t catch his name, but he was around 18, dark...

I ordered delivery so of course I'm not experiencing hmmburger at its best. However I paid £21.25 +£5 for delivery of a Big Daddy, large milkshake and Cajun fries which is ridiculously steep in my opinion. They missed out the jalapeños from the burger which I added and paid more for. The patties were overcooked and rubbery despite there being options for how well-done you wanted it (I chose medium). The fries were a mixture of overcooked and undercooked. The Oreo milkshake should be called an 'Oreo-flavoured' milkshake as I couldn't find any distinct pieces of biscuit in it. I couldn't finish the meal as it made me feel sick. I don't doubt that the restaurant is better in person, but I'm not convinced I'd go there had I had my meal in dine-in condition. For me, the construction of the burger didn't work. It felt like a toss-up between trying to emulate something simple and classic like Five Guys, and combining that with a restaurant burger. To improve for delivery, I'd suggest to take the patties off the heat earlier, toast the buns so that they can stand up to all the moisture, use foil wrap and fold the top of the bag down to retain as much heat as possible.

My first visit, and I wasn't disappointed. A very good burger, great sweet potato fries (with tasty house sauce) and some excellent onion rings, all washed down with an oreo shake. Great food, a good price and very friendly service. Thank you, we'll be back next time we're in Newmarket.

Absolutely amazing food. The best burger I've had here in the UK. The fries were also fantastic. A little pricey compared to other places. For a burger, fries & milkshake it was just over £15.

The service was really great! I had the sweet potato fries and my wife has the cajun fries. Both were so delicious. Definitely recommend for anyone wants a good decent burger.

Wasn't the best experience when we tried to go in person. The online hours said 11:30 but we walked in and the woman was rude and was like, "were not open" in a pretty rude tone. We showed her the hours on Google and she said they would update them. Which they since have. But we did order pickup. I ordered the halloumi burger expecting it to have a burger since the online ordering system asks how you want your meat cooked I chose medium rare. Picked it up and turns out its a veggie sandwich even though it's not marked as a veggie sandwich on the online ordering system. On top of all of that the food was just sub-par. I expected a lot more from a place that says they do gourmet burgers. It was just thrown together. This was just like McDonald's in my opinion. They also forgot to give us the second coleslaw that was supposed to come with the burger. We got the first one but not the second one. The only reason I'm even giving 2 stars is because the fries were good.

Such a great meal! We went today for lunch and it was not too crowded but many tables filled. There is a main dining area, as well as a dining area around the corner. Also, there is a pick up counter and I believe delivery...

Both members of staff were extremely lovely. Food was amazing and we are loving the new extension which provides so much more space.

The burger was delicious. They actually seasoned the burgers like America. I really enjoyed the side of chips (French fries) and coleslaw together. I will return.

We brought our daughter and grandchildren here for lunch. We got the portabella mushroom burgers, which were awesome! The kids got free little shakes with their lunch and everyone had a great meal. You won't be disappointed!

Its been a couple of years since we went into the restaurant or had a takeaway but the food is as good as I remember and the interior has had an extension and facelift that has been very well done! Looking forward to going back...
