Good selection of burgers but very difficult to contact to make booking and service on the day very slow (didn’t get drinks for half an hour after seating

A wonderful time but have tried to contact for another booking by email phone and social media and can't get a reply. Very disappointed

A view what a view, the restaurant looks fantastic and very modern. The place was busy 3 o’clock on a sat afternoon. We ordered the corn ribs the chicken tenders and the cod fingers. Then the gravy burger the New York and the sobrasado. Each one was excellent and really tasty. I mean so tasty, they have amazing buns and it was all piping hot and looked superb. They had a number of specials on the menu but we stuck to the stock ones. I will be on the look out for there trailer as they do mobile work.

I booked online which was really easy, received the confirmation in my inbox and away I went. The welcome was warm, the wine was cold and the atmosphere was relaxed. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Burger and some sweet potato fries - the food was absolutely delicious (the maple bacon jam was to die for!) Great portion sizes which left me satisfied but not bursting at the seams! I received excellent service throughout from the smiley welcome to the attentive waiting staff (special mention to Martin who was my server) An unexpected gem which I will definitely be returning to on future trips!

Very poor booking system. First time we went to visit in August 2023 they had an electrical fault so we couldn’t have our reservation. On our second attempt today the booking went though but didn’t have it on their system so once again we were sent away with no alternative options offered! We are very disappointed with the service given on two separate occasions.

Just outside of Brecon Town this venue serves innovative burgers and fries with a twist. Welcoming friendly staff were very helpful and there are a good range of menu choices for burgers, special burgers and topped fries. Good portion sizes that are very filling. Well worth a visit.

Met with a rude member of staff trying to be funny. Sarcasm isn’t a welcoming trait in a waiter. Presented with menu, fairly expensive, but I’m willing to pay for what I get if it’s worth it. It’s not , a very small burger (I had the New Yorker) with Pastrami , pickles and sauerkraut. It was over seasoned. I thought maybe because of my pastrami and pickles, nope it was the burger itself as I tried my own and my partners separately and both were overpowering with saltiness. Burger sauce was tasteless too. I addressed this with the waiter (the sarcastic one , who tried to be funny again) at the end of our service and was told “yeah the chefs know some people think it’s salty, but they said , tough, as that’s how they make them” So no point in expressing any thoughts or opinions. £11.90 for one cheeseburger, which is two patties with one slice of cheese. No salad, no tomato, no cucumber, pickle or anything. It cost us £43 for two burgers, two fries and a Coke Zero and ginger beer. Unimpressed. I feel the owner has attempted to capitalise on Brecon’s lack of similar vibe establishments, but by hiking prices and allowing your staff to Act however they wish will not entice me to return. Thanks, but, no thanks.

Just got back and we had a lovely time. We drove an hr to get there. On pre-booking a week prior I explained my son has autism asked if we could possibly be seated by a wall somewhere quieter. This was no problem, but what was really lovely was on arrival they turned the restaurant music down a bit and checked it was ok for him! We arrived way too early for our booking and whilst we apologised for our rubbish mis-timing, we asked if they could possibly accommodate our early arrival. They made know issue of it and happily obliged. Staff were super polite and helpful. Service was a teeny bit too slow in taking orders, clearing table but staff did apologise. And again they were do polite and attentive in all other areas it was not big deal. Burgers were gorgeous! Not greasy at all. Portions are big! We brought half our food home in boxes. They took time to explain the menu when we weren’t sure of something. Yes you have to give card deets prior, yes you might be charged for not turning up and yes you have a certain amount of time at your table but I’ve been to loads of eateries that get busy that do this!! Found it good value for money. Clean. And we liked that the restaurant was spacious and not super crammed in with tables and chairs! Will defo return! Thank you HILLS as of today my son has named you guys his favourite burger. Meaning you’ve finally knocked the local Hereford Burger joint he loved, off his top spot! :)

When booking a table you have to give your card details to secure a table. That's rude in itself. Their a burger restaurant and nothing else. Not a fancy posh restaurant. Also your told if your late getting there you will loose your table and get charged via your card details. You get 15mins grace from your booking your time slot. Your also told when you have to vacate your table. All very rules and regulations . Waitress asked what drinks we would like and I asked for a Coke Zero to which she said yes we have that and I got a normal Coke. Not the end of the world but not a great start. We ordered a burger each. One with chips and gravy and myself a burger with a extra lettuce and tomato plus mushrooms. Fully expecting the extras to be sides they were all put in the burger. So the burger turns up in the middle of my plate with nothing else to accompany it. Looks very basic and not a proper meal. The whole thing was soggy and greasy and to top it off it was tasteless. My mates burger was sat in the gravy and was also soggy. He said the only flavour he could taste was the gravy because the burger was tasteless and greasy too. I have had better road side burgers than this and at a fraction of the price. I along with my mate we would not recommend this place. First and last time we ever go there again.

Nothing wrong with the food I had but nothing to justify £18 for a burger either. Waitress told us a portion of fries was large enough to share - not in my view. Overpriced and overrated.

Love burger places, obsessed with street food, but ultimately was a little disappointed by Hills. It's a nice place, with good service, but is easily the most overpriced burger place I've been to. London places can charge less. The menu is a bit to "try hard", a lot of the combinations may make for good social media photos and posts, but that's about it. I'd genuinely rate the food as about middle of the pack for these kind of burger places, so 3-star (possibly 4), but overall it is just way overpriced so 2-star review overall. Not sure? Go look at the menu, price up one of the specials with some decent fries, a side and a drink. Take 2 of you or a family and bill is high! I will try the place again one day.

Lovely Scenic Journey up from Swansea. Worth a drive up. Considering they have a very strict booking procedure that threaten to charge £20 per head if your more than 15 minutes late and that you have to vacate your table within 2hrs the staff weren't exactly in a rush to serve you. Twice we went to the bar to order and twice we were told someone will be over. So we're half hour in and a polite girl came to serve us. Straight forward Service. Didn't have to wait long. Burgers were lovely. Abit on the pink side for us but nice enough. I ate mine plus whatever the misses couldn't eat. £3.50 for 2 dried up onion rings. That was a poor show. Atleast give us a basket of them with some sort of moisture in them. If your going to charge roughly £15 -£18 a burger atleast you can do is throw in the fries along with the burger to kind of justify the high price you charge. All in all the food was nice but not for the price they charge. Overly hyped Burgers and if you want anything added to the burger well that just keeps bumping the price up. After that we didn't fancy the extra cost of a sweet so Asdas (Ystalyfera) it was. So was it worth it? The journey yes but not the price. Would we go again? Uh no. But thanks for the experience.

Me and my partner had a take away from hills this afternoon. We ordered x2 burgers (pickles and extra cheese on one , x2 chips, x2 cans of pop. I was shocked to say the least that the total came to £51.40!!! I asked the worker to check the cost however it was correct. I cannot believe that a burger restaurant can charge these prices. Really disappointed and won’t be visiting again - unless I remortgage my house.

Popped in yesterday to try out the burgers and can honestly say it was amazing. Topped off by great service by the staff who made us feel very welcome

Really disappointed. Made the long trip over, Turned away from a “fully” booked restaurant which was dead. Around 10 tables free inside and all of outside was free, did not accommodate no other option just simply leave. Would not even serve us a takeaway meal to sit outside. Don’t waste your time as there is nothing nearby.

Had heard great reviews of this place and it certainly did not disappoint. I had the chips and gravy cheeseburger and it was lovely, as was the side of corn ribs. Service was good. Came here with friends one evening back in March 2023. It's relatively easy to find and there's plenty of parking outside. We'd prebooked and although it was my first time here, one of our party had been before. The decor is really nice and, having been again since, you get a great view of the Bannau Brycheiniog during the day, but can't see them at night obviously! From speaking to the staff, they change their specials every month and I tried one of the specials (can't remember what but it won't matter as it was back in March now so won't be on the menu anymore!). The service was really good and one of our sides was a bit cold when it came out but they brought us another one when we said. My burger was really tasty - a good combo of flavours that worked well. The sides were also good. The pudding (choc brownie) was also tasty. I'd recommend if you're after somewhere for a special occasion.

The best burger I’ve ever eaten. Pros - the most amazing burgers, staff friendly and the place is nice and clean. Staff are knowledgeable about menu, asked about dietary requirements and gave options for the vegan burger that I ordered. Cons - the price 😳, you’re looking at £30 per person minimum for burger, chips or a side and a drink. The music was very loud and I could barely hear the waitress talking to us. We were waiting a long time for the bill, we ended up paying at the bar before leaving even though we were planning on having another drink, we couldn’t get the waiting staffs attention.

The views are beautiful. The food was nice but it is expensive and the dining chairs are very uncomfortable.

My partner and I visited The Hills for a much recommended burger experience. When we arrived it was very busy, a good sign for any restaurant. They didn't have a table available but was offered a takeaway which we went ahead with. Really friendly staff, especially the bar man, lovely lad, chatted with us whilst we waited at the bar and the Mrs enjoyed a gin. Didn't take long for our takeaway which was a surprise considering how busy it was. The burgers were pretty damn good and the rosemary salt fries were yummy. I'm a chef by trade and its so damn hard to find good food. The only reason I haven't given five out of five was the gravy on my girlfriends gravy and fries burger. Delicious deep flavour but over reduced, we couldn't drink enough water afterwards to get the bitter salty flavour out of our mouths. Meant as a constructive criticism, that gravy was flavoured so well, just cut back on the reducing. They're bound to set up more restaurants, they should, great place, we'll definitely go back

I don’t write a huge amount of reviews, but felt compelled to do so for Hills to provide balance to some of the not so positive reviews about service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with regards to service, I actually messed up our booking and what could have been an easy “not our problem” response from Hills, they smoothed everything out and ensured we got the meal and experience we had driven so far for. You can tell from the other reviews the food is proper tasty, so not much need to say much more on that.

We had an excellent visit! Very friendly welcome, service was great and quick. The burgers were delicious, the loaded brisket fries and sweet potatoes were great too. All arrived fresh and hot! Try the passion fruit lemonade, was so refreshing. Thanks, definitely on the list for our next visit to Wales!

I have just eaten the most amazing burger that I have ever had. The food our party ate was all absolutely delicious and well worth the money. The restaurant is in such a beautiful location with stunning views of The Brecon Beacons. The staff were extremely professional, polite and attentive. But one warning …….don’t eat before you come, the portions are big and some may struggle to finish their meal. Definitely worth a visit

Literally the best burger I've ever had in my life, incredible drinks both cocktails and soft drinks, (the homemade passion fruit lemonade is amazing) and amazing fries. Top it off with beautiful decoration and a great chilled atmosphere and incredible views - we're coming back!!

Fantastic food, delicious and rich large portions. Music way too loud to be comfortable, chairs a bit narrow on the sides for anyone bigger than a size 8/10 lovely waitresses that were intent on cleaning but not looking to check customers needs.
