Hildrews in Gateshead

Not keen on this place at all. Staff too busy talking and not at all welcoming. Coffee tasteless cake was supposed to be lime and coconut? again this was a small portion with little flavour of coconut or lime. My guest had a cappuccino and cake. Only average. Far too hot, some windows were open but not main door. Could use a ceiling fan or consider air-con? Room for improvement here.

A lovely cosy spot for lunch with the family, great specials menu, tasty food and incredible prices. Will definitely be back to try the sweet treats!

I always call in here for a coffee and flapjack on a Wednesday. Whilst ordering the above I noticed the corned beef square. I took two for our tea that evening. I have to say that the corned beef square was delicious. The staff are always pleasant and helpful.
