Highland Star Chinese Take Away in Inverclyde

Recently had Singapore noodles they were absolutely delicious 😋 best chinese I've had in a long time. Will be a regular customer now thank you 😊

We've had food from here a few times now and it's delicious 😋 such lovely food.

Amzing place wothout a dout the nicest workers magnificent food! Lots of flavour plus family owned witch make all the workers respect each other and make good food u should try out the food u wont look back

Chinese takeaway. I have been going here for over 10 years. The service is always lovely and I have always had good food (although I do tend to stick to 4 or 5 favourite dishes). Like all takeaways it has gone up in price and they are all about as dear as each other. There is a car park at the side you can usually get into if there is no on street parking available. There are some quite steep stairs to get in and my old knees are beginning to feel them. However, they do deliver and it is usually quite quick, but check when you phone.

Good food but, £8.30 for Chicken n Mushroom with fried rice. Pfftt.

Didn't pre order, went as a 'walk in' at 1800hrs; 11 people including me in a 3m x 4m space with only one sitting suggesting she had been served. The one person serving was.... on the phone taking orders from those that couldn't be bothered to come in. Didn't wait, came back 2 hours later- the food is good though.

Didn’t wait long at all. Food was steaming piping hot when it arrived which you hardly get from takeaway. Yeah it’s hot but this was proberly cooked hot. The plain chow main was nice. I normally have thin noodles but wasn’t asked specifically if I wanted thick or thin. The thick ones are actually nice. As for the chicken curry. Best curry I’ve have from Greenock. Chicken just melted in the mouth and sauce had so much flavour it was amazing. Cannot fault it at all. Even able to pay with card over the phone which you can’t anywhere else.

It's a takeaway you don't get a atmosphere, but the food I got was ample and nice

Singapore chow mein = amazing! Salt n chilli spare ribs = amazing! Asked for the Singapore chow mein extra spicy & it was so so good! I’m yet to try a curry so will order that next time :)

This place is to be avoided at all cost the food is simply appalling and overpriced .

Only Chinese I'll get takeaways from ..always hot..on time ..so reasonable ..i think its the best .....

Highland Star used to be my go to Chinese, but following a recent change in management, the quality of the food hasn't been as good as it used to be. Have gone a few times since the change and have sadly been disappointed every time

I never thought I would ever post a bad review for the Highland Star. However got a delivery on Friday and we were not happy with meals. Noddle not nice, even the curry sauce was rotten. The spring rolls from highland star were amazing not now, not even crispy and also tasteless!! What's gone wrong?

Just got delivery ,prawn chow mein and honey chicken wings ,was all tasteles ,prawns no taste chow mein stuck together, chicken wings hardly any sauce .Was told this was good take away ,first and last time using it ,never again .

The food was ordinary but we were greatly disappointed in the chips. They were dark and hard and reheated from old chips. What is a Chinese meal without good chips?

Tried this place as I heard it was good, got a lovely beef curry, meat was nice and tender, curry sauce was amazing, Edit sorry thata review was for the last owners of the takeaway, this place has went down hill in afraid, I don't eat here anymore

After a misunderstanding last time I ordered I ordered a meal tonight have to say me and my wife both really enjoyed it food was really well cooked and tasty

Phoned to order a meal for collection after giving my order i said i would be paying by card only to be told they are under new management and dont accept cards, as i had no cash money on me i had to cancel my order . Surely with covid as it is the the way to pay is by card they have just lost a customer and i think they will be losing a few more , Thanks for clearing that up

Very bland and cold Chow Mein, missing the gravy. 6 small chicken wings for £3.90, Absolute rip off. Total dogs dinner, AVOID
