Hicce Hart in Islington

The best Sunday Roast I've ever had in a pub, and I'm not young - I've had way too many. The music, the Sunday vibe, the super friendly service, the great wine, the food, the lovely beers, the obvious passion, the comfy seating. This really is a perfect pub. I so wished that I lived nearby but whenever I'm in London at the weekend, this is where I will be.

Lovely little place for a couple of drinks Myself and my family are gluten free and struggle to find good gluten free beer but this place has very good beer and would recommend

What a little Gem tucked away in Islington. Lovely pub that packs a punch with amazing food. We shared a selection of amazing dishes that were just poached with flavour and were so fresh and seasonal. The staff were also so friendly. A real gem and a great find

Lovely place, quiet too for a Friday lunchtime. Staff attentive but not overly so. The ribs were to die for! It’s a must place to go

Really nice discovery around our location we did enjoy the card and beverage. Managers are very kind and good food for your bucks.

We popped down here as it was local at the end of the chap. We couldn’t eat outside in the sun, god knows why, the table were were given was too small for plates, drinks and bread. The soup was like baby food, the terrine was nice and the chips were brilliant, the service was quite up and down. Not sure I’d bother going for a roast after watching it go past (yorkies did look good) the chicken looked insipid. We’ll give it a couple of months and see if they can be bothered to serve food (if only bar snacks) outside.

This bar recently changed hands & always loved as a “one more for the road” pub. Last time we were in, we got chatting to the new managers & staff, very relaxed & cool vibes. We decided to book Sunday roast, always tell a good foodie pub by its roast right? Well we weren’t disappointed, we arrived, told booking name & shown to our table quickly - what was nice, the manager remembered us. I ordered the beef, my wife the chicken, both were excellent. A large portion, generous veg & meat but best of all tasted delicious, loved the home made horseradish. For a Sunday the atmosphere was buzzing & just got busier the longer we stayed, which was till 5ish as we enjoyed the rum & ambiance too much 😊 I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area - be rude not too !

Hicce Hart - Chapel Mkt What a shame! Our visit completely ruined by loud thumping music. We asked them to turn it down 4 times (explaining that my husband, who suffers from epilepsy couldn’t cope but they just kept turning it back up - he had to leave in the end). We ordered margaritas straight up with salt. They arrived with ice, no salt. The roast beef etc was nice but very little gravy. The chocolate cake was good, the blood orange mousse mediocre. We won’t be coming back.

Lovely lunch @Hicce Hart! The food was fabulous- starters included: Cheesy polenta with mushroom Beetroot with crème fraiche and walnuts Pulled pork bites with brown sauce Followed by: Pork chop with cannellini beans and onions Hepworth lamb with a tarragon dumpling and turnip The starters and mains were fabulous and so tasty. Shared desserts of Stout cake with cream cheese Rhubarb & custard Paris Brest absolutely rounded the meal off perfectly. This was a fabulous lunch in a very relaxed atmosphere- the service was excellent not intrusive. All in all this was a fabulous afternoon of food and wine.

My friend treated me to dinner for my birthday. She had mentioned this when booking and as soon as we were seated, we were each given a glass of fizz on the house, which was a lovely touch. We shared a starter of beetroot, which was delicious and we ordered a bottle of house white, which was very good value and nice and dry. We both ordered lamb belly and it was unctuous, meltingly tender. Our server Alice or Elise, sorry but not sure I got her name right, was a delight and really looked after us. Before we got the bill, they brought over a little slice of cake with a candle, which was so lovely. A fabulous evening and the food was great.
