I am local to Hexgreave. Has always been a beautiful estate with the grounds, the buildings and the deer/stag community. I have walked around it for many years, well before there was a coffee shop.

Worth the wait for food that is prepared with love and presented beautifully. Avocado, mozzarella and sun dried tomato panini extremely fresh and accompanied by fresh salad and coleslaw to die for. Relaxing room with wonderful ambience. Friendly staff. I will be back.

Went to the small restaurant for lunch. It was a perfect setting with some tables on an outside patio where we were allowed to sit with our dogs, who were given a welcome bowl of water. Lunch was delicious!

Left after an hour due to our sandwiches not being ready. Staff are not approachable and poor with communication.

Visited the new refurbished coffee shop, very pretty to look at but service shocking. First visit no english breakfast available but on the menu, choice of toast. Second visit 3 employees present not one said good morning or do you want a menu, (Customer Service). My friend ordered first (a slice of cake and hot drink, 3 members of staff behind the till, only one serving, i took a menu and sat outside and returned back to the till a few minutes later. The girl preparing the drink never made eye contact with me to acknowledge i was waiting. The other two employees were to busy discussing sizes of glasses they had available. They also never acknowledged i was still stood waiting, not a hello, good morning or i can take your order, although the other girl had time to help cut the slice of cake for my friends order but still she didnt have time to take notice i was stood there or take my order. Five minutes later the other girl doing the drink, finally said i will be with you in a minute. Am sorry but if you want a buisness to work, people skills, customer service should be first on the list. I will not be returning.

I walk along The Southwell Trail and then branch off to the cafe. All cakes scones etc are made there. Amazing toasted tea cakes and thick toast with jam. Very reasonable prices. But not least lovely staff who serve here are so pleasant. What's not to like. Christine Atkins.

Came here for a run, thank you so much much for hosting it guys. Beautiful house and well managed estate. If the cafe is public, then this looks like a good lunchtime destination but not having had the food I can't really comment.

Decided to pay this place a visit today, location is lovely and the tearoom is nice and clean. The menu is a bit basic but the food is done to order. We ordered our meals, there was just two couples in the room, us and one other and she got my order wrong, she did offer to change it but I had already started to eat it, so I left it as is. I think £13 for 2 bowls of salad and a cup of tea is expensive considering there was not really any flavour to the oil soaked leaves, shame really.

We walked here from Farnsfield - a lovely walk with far reaching views, and the added attraction of deer in the parkland.

If I could put 0 stars I would. The girl who owns it is very rude and seems unable to communicate in a friendly manor, food very average and over priced for the quality of product and the lack of customer service you receive.

Went to this restaurant a year ago and had an amazing meal, couldn't fault, so when me and four friends wanted to get together for a pre birthday meal, we all agreed on the Lion. Unfortunately not sure what has happened but my food was awful, the chips were oven chips that hadn't been cooked properly and were cold, the pulled pork and vegetables were lukewarm at best, the molten pepper jack sauce was so cold it had a skin on, not sure what happened to the aioli and the crispy onions, didn't seem to have any. I then had to sticky toffee pudding which was dry and rubbery, the only good thing was the toffee sauce, not impressed for £37.00. Also the restaurant was very cold.
