Absolutely lovely restaurant. Superb. Please make a visit :)

Wow, this restaurant is brilliant! We discovered it via Facebook. The menu for adults and kids looked so delicious that I booked it for our wedding anniversary. My husband and 8-year-old son went for Sunday lunch and I'm so glad we did. The minute we arrived we felt thoroughly spoilt. I had mentioned that it was our anniversary and the restaurant owners had a special treat for us ready on arrival. There were so many delicious options on the menu, we had Sunday roast (the best I had in forever!!!). My son had the chicken burger. The team were so friendly. When we had forgotten to mention that our son doesn't like mayo, his burger bun was replaced without any fuzz. We had the loveliest of desserts and we decided immediately we would return. The food is delicious, the restaurant's atmosphere is just brilliant and the team is outstanding. Great value for money. I can highly recommend you try this place.

Fantastic food & great service. A memorable evening

Was a little disappointed. Although the food was hot it seemed that the same sauces were used over multiple dishes (mains and desserts). I suppose I enjoy food with strong flavours and overall the food was a little bland. I cannot fault the place for the friendly welcome and our orders were taken accurately but somehow I feel there is something missing for it to be a truly excellent restaurant. One thing I would say was it was remarkably quiet for a Saturday night.

Great food, attentive service, good value. We loved it. The chef really adds those little extras to make the dished stand out. Looking forward to returning soon.

Fabulous local restaurant. Lovely to have a good restaurant that we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep although there is limited parking outside, more on local side roads if you struggle to find space. The food and service rate very highly, on a par with much more expensive places further afield. We had a selection of starters, prawns in garlic, baked Camembert (to share) and very tasty calamari with yummy garlic mayo. Duck salads x 2 Sea bass and a seafood risotto were all hot, freshly prepared and served by professional, yet friendly, staff. Would highly recommend we all use this little gem. Very good value and lovely touch of an after dinner drink sad, as we didn’t have room for the rather tempting desserts. Next time we’ll definitely leave room.

I was attending a private party which took most of the restaurant on a Sunday. The food was really good,presented well and hot. The kitchen did very well in keeping up to the food orders. I had the Mushroom risotto, and it was a huge bowl full and tasted amazing.

Love eating at Heron's when going out for dinner locally. The food there is always excellent with a good selection of wines. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food and excellent service. We met with four other friends and between us had three newborn babies under the age of four weeks old. The staff were brilliant and so accommodating, making us feel as comfortable as possible. We will definitely be returning!

This evening we strolled around to Herons in Heronsgate again for a Friday night steak and wine extravaganza. The calamari starters portion sizes had shrunk a little since our last visit but still tasty on a bed of rocket with sublime dip. My sirloin steak was generously proportioned and cooked to perfection. Peppercorn sauce side was delicious and the fries crispy and ample. Great service, friendly manager / waiter and overall top marks!

What a great place. Wide range of food on offer. I had chicken breast in a mushroom and cream sauce which was delicious. Service was excellent and prices reasonable. Highly recommended.

Myself and my partner were today at this amazing restaurant. The staff was friendly, respectful and understanding. The food was simply amazing, and the atmosphere simply relaxing This is the place where the service you receive is just amazing. The food is delicious, presentation outstanding and flavours of the food divine. Everyone should enjoy this.

We had an excellent, delicious dinner with friendly and efficient service. Andrew was charming and very attentive. The cooking was of a high standard and the portions were generous. We will recommend to our friends and family and will definitely be dining there again.

Tasty, piping hot, superb food. The onion soup was superb, as was the smash burger. My wife had tiger prawns and sea bass. All freshly made and tasty. The kids had burrata and lamb -- washed down with tiramisu and lemon sorbet. Friendly, chatty, reasonably priced and food cooked to perfection.

Very friendly staff & lovely food

Just visited Herons for a post cinema quick dinner and was taken aback by how good it was. I had a chicken Caesar salad which was enormous and arguably one of the best I’ve had. My husband had lamb and it was just as delicious....

We had a party of four enjoy a fabulous dinner here for my birthday. My ribs, duck confit, and brownie were all excellent and highly recommended. My fiancée’s burrata, lamb, and banoffee pie were all superb too. Lovely atmosphere and superb service. Very reasonably priced too. Will visit again.

We returned again to Herons and it was...... perfect. Seated promptly at the table we had requested when we made the reservation. Service was fast, friendly and efficient without being intrusive. The house white wine was light and perfectly chilled. My calamari starter was delicious....

Situated in a rather remote area, it's a secret tip for excellent Mediterranean cuisine. The food ia really high quality, we did enjoy it very much. We were not there with our daughter but it looks quite family friendly as well. Staff are nice. Only waiting times are long, but the waiting is worth it.

Came across this on a Google search whilst staying in the area and it was the best meal we have had in ages. They were welcoming, helpful and service was great. Can recommend the duck salad and the sea bass - delicious. Just a pity we live 4 hours drive away!

One of the thing which I love when travelling to different countries is possibilitie to try different kitchen. This time My friend recommended me Herons restaurant, it has new management since February. From what I saw each meal is freshly made from the scratch and believe me it is worth to wait 100% We had steak, sea food risotto, burger ❤️ and of course deserts - Banofie pie, apple tart tart in and browni - all beautifully made. The restaurant takes bookings, very busy during Saturday and Sunday from what I saw - it is worth to give a call earlier. If you are in a neighbourhood or even have to travel a bit make sure to visit this place, I am sure you won’t regret it.

Really nice food and very helpful and friendly staff. Visited here with our 6month baby and was made to feel really welcome and the staff could not have been more helpful. Menu was varied and all the food was really well cooked, the kitchen staff were also able to adapt some items to cater for an allergy.

We visited Herons restaurant for the Grand Opening under new management and it was breathtaking! Such a warm and intimate decor, they’ve done amazing job renewing it. The menu is so delicious we had trouble choosing our dishes, we just wanted to taste it all....

The night before my wedding I had a reception at Herons Restaurant for my side of the wedding party. My family discussed what we wanted with Matteo and team and what Herons produced was better than I could have expected. The food was great and plentiful and the restaurant was set out exactly how we wanted. They stayed until some of my guests were ready to leave…which was above and beyond what I would have expected. Sadly disappointed. We read the rave reviews for Herons Restaurant Chorleywood and so we were excited to try it out. We stopped off at The Stag for a pre-dinner drink beforehand. It was a Wednesday night, and when we arrived at Herons at 7 pm we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Drinks and food orders were taken swiftly and we were pleased to have the complimentary bread and olives before our meal. The “crispy” calamari starter was chewy and the duck salad starter was tough also, which was a disappointing beginning. I ordered a Prosecco for the starter and when this glass was empty snd cleared away I was not offered another drink. Instead, 10 minutes later we had to get the attention of the waitress to order another drink. I would have thought that if you had cleared away an empty glass you would automatically offer another drink? Mains: the brisket was largely enjoyed and the sauce particularly tasty. The rib eye at £24 was very disappointing. I don’t usually order steak unless we are in a steak restaurant, however, the reviews had been largely good so I took a chance. I ordered medium-rare but it felt more like medium. All I could taste was charred meat and not much else. I shared with my husband and he felt the same, the steak just tasted burnt. Such a shame. We opted not to have dessert. £85 later and to be honest we should’ve stayed at The Stag. Sadly we won’t return.
