Great service always has been when we go or delivery service lovely food lovely staff especially the one who got us drinking king cobra so overall GRRREAT.

Main curries should be served as desserts!!! First time visiting and ordered takeaway. Ordered paneer pakora, fish pakora (no onion), jeera chicken (no onion), paneer tikka masala, pilau rice (no onion) and roti. Got home only to find the pilau rice had onions so we went back and they made another one. Now to the food, being Asian, I know a thing or 2 about Asian food. Firstly, the paneer pakora and fish pakora were oily to the point we could see the oil if we pressed ever so lightly Now the curries, being an avid fan of paneer tikka masala usually made by cooking onions, tomatoes, garlic and all the spices then blitz in a food processor and then reduced down in a pan so it becomes a thick paste to which you add cream and a few more spices. For some reason it looks like they added at least 2 to 3 table spoons of sugar. Same with the jeera chicken. It was far far far too sweet and not what a curry should taste like which is full of flavour and a slight kick (even if you order a mild dish. Mild means, dont add chillies when cooking down the onions and tomatoes NOT ADD SUGAR. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!! There are far better restaurants in the area, especially if you want proper home cooked authentic currys!!!

Friendly local Indian restaurant. There is plenty of space and a lovely restaurant. They have a private room for larger parties, and the food is great.

We ordered a takeaway last night as we often do from Herb and Spice and it was excellent as always. Absolutely delicious and fresh and always consistently good. Would never go anywhere else

For me this is the best Indian restaurant in the area. Dine in or take away. I’ve been eating in here and regular take aways for 15 + years. I’ve never had a meal or service I can fault. They are also brilliant at accommodating large groups. Always Fantastic food,staff,and chefs. 10 out of 10.

We used to enjoy going here for a curry but abit difficult now husband in a wheelchair. The takeaway didn’t disappoint, very enjoyable

Lovey meal out for my daughters birthday. They were easily able to cater for a gluten allergy one of us had. Everything was delicious, and the birthday surprise dessert they gave her was amazing! This is the 3rd time we've celebrated there in a row, and we have no plans to stop.

Hands down, this was the best Indian food I’ve ever tasted. The meat samosas, onion bhajis, and lamb tikka madras was all spot on! I’d highly recommend this takeaway!.

22 people in our party and we decend on this restaurant with no notice at 9pm at night. We had superb service and superb good as quick as a flash and everything perfect. What an excellent night. Well done!

Went to the restaurant for a meal as the food is always great. Due to a medical issue we had to go home. The staff were happy to box the meals up so we could take them home. They were more concerned about us. Fantastic staff and on the medical side all is good on of the problems you occasionally get with diabetes.

Ordered from here loads and will continue to order as the food is great.. This time though there was no salad with the starters and we ordered quite a few starters and they only sent 2 dips also the red onion was missing... Hope next time it's spot on like normal or we might have to look for another place...

It's a shame can't put minus stars. Went in with my family tonight for my sons birthday meal, there was a cockroach in my brother in laws food none of us ate the meals the waiter couldn't apologise enough. My sons birthday was ruined won't ever go again

Lovely place. Large booking and a side room. Really enjoyed it. Service was a little slow initially but understandable given our party size. Food was lovely, and as things got moving, the staff were great.

Wrong sauce with biryani, too hot (pathia not passanda) so had to eat it dry other than the portion I had to bin as it was inedible for me. Usually spot on

After moving down to Cornwall we visited our favourite Indian restaurant to receive an extremely warm welcome from the Owner and his staff - the food was exactly as we remembered absolutely brilliant. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area looking for a good traditional Indian restaurant.

Visited 22nd July 2023: Absolutely rinsed by these guys. They were very friendly but the bill was quite a shock at the end of the night. We had 2 beers, 2 lemonades, 3 starters, 2 mains and a garlic bread. £70 Wow! 4 poppadoms were £6.55. The food was average and I wouldn’t recommend going to this place again due to the extortionate prices.

Herb and spice is one of the best restaurants in tameside. I have been coming here for 20 years. The food is impeccable and the service is second to none. I had a tandoori mix with madras sauce and it was spectacular.

Absoultey awful food! Most of it was cold, salty and inedible, and all of it was very overpriced for such poor quality. I can only think the place has been taken over since I last ordered from here, it was awful.

Absolutely terrible avoid at all costs. Was told on the phone that it was all your can eat The food was awful and cold the meat was chewy even down to the chips wasn’t edible and when I told the staff I was happy all 3 of them was very rude told me if I wasn’t happy that I should have just got up and walked out I pretty sure that’s not how it works is it? Please do not eat at this place

Food arrived 5 mins early, not a problem. Food was hot but a little bland.

Food was good - slightly cold but was of good quality. The salad was bizarre though - layers of lettuce and cold peas! Was expecting a tray of the cold lettuce salad that usually comes with the starters in the restaurant!

Delivered early which is appreciated but it wasn't hot and one curry was really bland with hardly any flavour and the other 2 weren't full of flavour either

Karai on the menu say HOT, this mess that we got delivered was chicken and onion in a watery gravy.... No flavour or spice whatsoever, mixed grill was ok but the Masala was just a red Korma Disappointed and confused as to what was sent as an apparent Karai, I can honestly say that the masala had more spice and flavour than the Karai Very very poor I'm afraid

Based on the lovely delivery driver, the onion bhaji starter and pilau rice, I would score it as a 4, but, the main curry, the piece de resistance, a chicken tikka jalfrezi, was a 1!! Jalfrezi is what I order every single time from all places, but this was not a jalfrezi! I was greeted with a bland looking, bland tasting slop! Not a single leaf of coriander, a couple of slivers of straggly green pepper, not a single green chilli in sight. For a meal for one, and not even free delivery over a certain amount, I’m actually disgusted. To make it even slightly palatable, I’ve had to add my own fresh coriander and some crushed chillis for heat! First and last time ordering from here.. and if you expect a good jalfrezi, you too will be disappointed!

I have had takeaways several times per month. The food is always hot, carefully packaged and delivered promptly. Food is tasty and lovely and fresh.

Visited this restaurant on Wednesday 28 December around 10pm with my two sons after being let down by Curry Cottage when they failed to acknowledge our booking. So we called to Herb & Spice in the hope that we could eat, we were greeted at the door by a gentleman who invited us in to dine without a prior booking, we were very grateful. Once inside all I can say was that the food was excellent, as was the service we received throughout. We couldn’t fault it and all agreed that we will definitely eat there again soon. Based on this visit I would thoroughly recommend this place.

Our favourite place to eat out as a family, we usually hire the side room and that gets over 20 of us in all at the same time and we can have all the fun we want away from disturbing dating couples! The lads and lasses that run the establishment are absolutely wonderful and I can't recommend this venue any highe, always a great time with friends and family.
