Hello 7 in County Durham

Absolute joke of a service. Ordered with it down as 50 min delivery. After 90 mins ring them to see where it was to be told they were only just starting to cook and would be 2 hours. Dont accept the orders if you are not going to start cooking it for over 90 mins after order is placed.

Absolutely revolting. Worst Chinese I’ve ever tasted. Hello 7 used to be nice but the past couple of orders haven't been very good. Half of tonight’s order was missing and the food that did arrive is disgusting

Have enjoyed take aways from here since it opened this year. Lady at counter polite, pleasant and obliging. Almost 5 star: the only problem was the too thick, dark gravy that came with the English sausage (gravy, peas onions) which I watered down, and not enough peas. Everything else fine! 2024: like the Singapore vermicelli and won tons.

I picked up my food and I didn’t need to wait, food was hot when I got back home. service was nice and quick, food delicious as always. Recommend!!

Delicious food fast delivery staff very friendly however they missed off my prawn crackers which I'd payed for. Driver returned very soon after I'd rang shop and they compensated me with a free bottle of pop. 9/10

New Peaking House is better! Just an average Chinese takeaway. We wanted a Chinese for our tea an few weeks ago and the Chinese on Framwellgate Moor (New Peaking House) was closed. Food at New Peaking House is much fresher and better quality. The duck for the duck pancakes at Hello 7 is so hard it’s like you are eating rocks! Service at Hello 7 is extremely slow. Stay clear.

The food was delicious, we ordered the house special garlic spicy dish, salt and pepper chicken wings, mushroom beef, honey chilli chicken and the house special fried noodles, all of which were excellent. It seemed like there wasn't much MSG used, as we didn't feel excessively thirsty after the meal. Overall, much tastier than another take away we've tried. Hello 7 had more meat in their dishes compared to the other take away , where there seemed to be more vegetables and less meat.

We made an order and gave them the correct address. After 2 hours the food had not arrived so we called up, they got the wrong house and delivered it there. We asked for a refund which they agreed to and said our food would be 20 minutes. After 45 minutes I rang again and the manager said he was not going to be making the food as we took a refund, despite saying our food would be 20 minutes, there was no communication about this and he ultimately lied. Awful restaurant, awful customer service, will not order again.

Took 2 hours to come following phone call with the shop. Peking duck was fatty and not crispy at all…tiny amount of spring onion. Made 5 pancakes …pointless sending 10 for that amount of duck. Ribs lovely. Won’t be returning unfortunately…shame

Second time this has happened where food was missing. It’s very annoying when you order a takeaway on a Saturday night and you only get the chips without the chicken. I spoke to someone on the phone, instead of offering to send me the full meal again, I had to eat the chips on their own, and I’m still waiting for my chicken. Definitely not the best service, and this is the second time it’s happened. The food is always delicious, and this is my favourite Chinese, but I’m disappointed again. I have to eat my food separately.

The share box is well worth a try never had a bad meal from here

First time ordering a takeaway from Hello 7 and it certainly won’t be the last! Delicious food, plenty of choices and an amazing gluten free selection! Highly recommend trying Hello 7, especially if you’re coeliac!

Best chow mein in Durham 👌 always decent size meals and competitive prices

Has to be the worst Chinese I have had in a very long time. Ordered house special fried rice, no peas or ham and Singapore chow mien. Rice came with peas and ham, deffo not fried rice, stoggy boiled rice over cooked with some scrambled egg put in. Singapore chow mien was bland, no heat or spice what so ever. Given the rest of your reviews you need to stop apologising and pick your game up. Peking House miles ahead on service and taste. We won’t be back.

I think the quality of the food often depends on the chef in that day.

Really enjoyed this Chinese. Friendly staff and ready for collection in 20 mins. Good portion sizes. Best salt and pepper chips I've had in a while. Plenty of veggie options as you can get tofu or vegetables as an option for any dish.

Popped in here after spending 6 hrs in A & E with my wife. We were starving! 1st time ever at Hello 7, as we're from Chester le St. Place was spotless & the service was very good. A friendly guy was on the till. We hurried home & enjoyed the food. House special Chow Mein was very good.

Sorry to say this but we have been very disappointed with our sharing box tonight. There was no choice of sauce(although the curry sauce was nice) the ribs were dry the spring rolls were not very good,the salt and pepper chicken was very dry. The chips ,rice and chow mein were good. I don't think we'll be ordering again.

Absolutely love the food from here as they can do it with out msg monosodium glutanate with irrates my stomach, ordered food tonight beef chop suey rice and mixed hor s deouves loved the chop suey but they forgot the mixed hors deouves very disappointed

Atrocious customer service, never come across ruder staff in my life. Missed half the order and accused us of trying to get a free meal. Finally turn up with the rest of the meal and it was stone cold, obviously left on the side in the kitchen or still in the drivers car. Food tasted like it was a microwave meal. 30 quid wasted. never again

Just had a delivery show up in 20 minutes. 10 minutes after ordering I get a text saying it'll be with you soon. Absolutely insane. Wasn't a small order either. This is a good place for food too! Very nice!

Portion sizes are okay, but the food is nothing special - probably explains their extremely quick service.

First time ordering last night like 7 mile away so wasn't sure what to expect. Couldn't believe it when the door went 30 mins later and it was the food.. food was fresh and tasty and great value for money. Think we've found or new go to resteraunt. All the local ones to us can't even deliver a meal within 1 hour 30 mins never mind it taste this good

First time order tonight - So happy I found this place, I have been trying to find a tasty place for Chinese for a while that is local. Delivered to my home village 3.9miles from the shop and it was here within less that 30 mins! Food was beautiful, full of flavour and exactly what I requested. I will definitely be returning. Thank you very much for a lovely meal and service.

We have given this two stars because the food was nice however, we were told there would be a 40 minute wait when we rang. There was no chicken balls or boiled rice at 7:10pm on a Saturday night so we had to initially change the order. After an hour and a half and 54 attempts to get in touch I was told that they had turned the phone off because they were too busy by a very rude assistant. The food arrived and my order was wrong and had to contact them again. I could not afford to wait any longer for food as this would have been nearly 2 hours after I had initially ordered and everyone else in the family had either already eaten or was eating. Very disappointed with the service.

Never again. Had chi su and the majority of it was fat. The rest was that chewy I couldn't eat it. Rice was tasteless. The best part was the prawn crackers! Waste of money. Disappointed

Standards are very high with each individual dish tasting quite distinctively of its ingredients. Duck, beef, chicken, king prawns, ribs, BBQ sauce, gravy, curry, black bean sauce, etc... all taste absolutely right. Food quality is excellent, taste and flavour is great. The staff are really helpful, advising on quantities as well as details of ingredients and cooking methods. Great delivery service. Very recommended if you want Chinese food in Durham and nearby!

Fantastic meal for 4 everything hot freshly cooked and very tasty i have visited this place a few times and the food has always good.I can't understand the negative comments are these people genuine.

waited 5 mins for service and no one appeared.........KFC had my business instead.👎☹ looking behind the counter was also put off by grubby box of prawn crackers which was open to the elements and a host for any flies which may be around. not very hygienic at all.

Hi visited this place today I can honestly say that I have never been more disgusted in all my life of a takeaway if you want chicken so uncooked the kiss of life would bring it back breathing chips that have been there for weeks and a hot can of pop this is the place for you only for I have to pick a star to write this review ide give them none

Great food use this takeaway all the time even though have several near me. I prefer to pay extra for delivery so i can enjoy my food. Curries are spicy and yummy, the wont ons r nice n crispy buy not burnt, egg foo yung I juicy n tasty, chicken balls are larger than normal Chinese takeaways n r again juicy n crispy on the outside. Favourite Chinese in this area n ive tried em all. Won't use any others

Excellent Takeaway right on our doorstep. Disappointed it's stopped doing English Fish and Chips now, but they are focusing on Chinese side and the Food is gorgenus. Fast delivery time and helpful staff.

I have been going here my whole life .. now moved away from the area and went there every time I am visiting .. visited today and was gutted .. the food quality stodgy and related heated fried food .. and staff care free and very Un helpful I wont be returning what a shame since its been taken over !!

after years of visiting and having my favorite meal a evergreens special egg foo young today was so awful and foul, i could not believe it i am sorry just no longer awesome as it was in the past.

03/09/2013 Tried this takeaway today. First of all, the phone service was excellent, the lady who took my order understood very clearly what I wanted and was very amiable. The delivery was cheap at £2.50 delivering to Durham city and there was no mimimum spend. It was a fast delivery too! though, we did order quite early in the evening so this probably helped. I had the Szechuan spare ribs, and my friend has the quarter aromatic duck. They both tasted very nice. It felt like the food had been prepared well. It came with free prawn crackers too! Will definitely have again!
