I had the pleasure of being served by Danielle during my recent visit, and she truly made the experience exceptional. From the moment we were seated, she was attentive, warm, and incredibly friendly. She took the time to explain the menu thoroughly and offered helpful suggestions, which were spot on. Danielle’s service was prompt without feeling rushed, and she consistently checked in to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Her professionalism and positive attitude were a standout, making our meal even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend asking for Danielle if you’re dining here; she’s fantastic!

I recently visited Harvester at Castlegate with my family, and unfortunately, the place has really gone downhill over the past couple of years. The food was just average, not hot as it should be, and definitely overpriced for what you get. Even the salad bar was disappointing, with what looked like weird, murky water in some of the containers. It’s a shame because it used to be so much better. The one saving grace of the evening was our server, Jess. She was absolutely amazing—polite, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble, even when we had issues. Jess really stood out and made the experience much more pleasant. She’s the best in the restaurant and honestly deserves a promotion!

I received a warm and friendly welcome from Jess, who really went the extra mile to help me. When the meal I ordered wasn't available she found other options which I really appreciated. However, the salad bar wasn't up to standard- the lettuce container was watery and unappealing. I really miss the steak and potato cubes that used to be on the menu back in 2018/19. It was also cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, my visit last week felt like going to a very different restaurant. The food was just acceptable and overpriced, and while the staff were all lovely, especially Jess who was wonderful throughout, the biggest letdown was my food. The atmosphere was nice and friendly and my table was spotless, but ultimately, I went out for food after a long day and left feeling disappointed with it. Hope the quality improves or I won't be returning. Disappointed. Was my go to restaurant a few years ago and in a great place.

Well after not going back for a few years we finally gave it another go. Must say its much better now. Our server Gemma was fantastic and we will return more often.

Don't put review on very often but feel I need to in this instance. I ordered a normal cup of English tea when it came it was warm. The staff very kindly exchanged it for another one saying it is too dangerous to serve hot water. Iv heard it all now! Anyway she brought me another one that was luke warm. She apologised saying maybe the the tea pot was too big. I gave up in the end after my third attempt. All I wanted was a simple hot cuppa!

We had the stacked chicken, so we can recommend that.

Decent environment and pub, plenty of staff for breakfast but didn't reflect the service as waiting and asking for coffee which wasn't even made properly and went to serve as not enough attention. Staff member seated us and walked straight off without asking what drinks we wanted so I went to look for her and she came from out back with her mouth stuffed and asked for some coffee and drinks. This was 10am Saturday breakfast. Poached egg a bit dry not runny enough however rest of food is good and tasty.

Had not been to a Harvester for a long time and was rather disappointed with the menu. We were not impressed with our main courses so decided not to stay for puds.

The staff and service very good, I ordered waffles banana and berries, that wasn’t available. I ordered yogurt and granola pot, that also was unavailable. In the end I had toast preserves and tea. Also no decaffeinated tea.

Lovely dinner, staff was great, my son as Autism and young lady called Zoe made sure we were seated in quite area, check on him throughout, really made great effort.

We are regulars and even though it was very busy tonight the team managed very well, particularly as they have a a new menu. Our waitress Ellie was great and clearly knew what she doing even with the new options on the menu. Looking forward to going back and trying more things.

Salad bar very tasty, sever was very polite and accommodating as much as they could.be on a busy night. Ribs which my dad ate were nice and treacle sponge was nice. However I do not recommend the chicken skewers they were cold and lacked any taste even with the bbq sauce also the apple pie needed more sugar very bland. Would not recommend either meals. Chips were nice and coleslaw. I did not complain my parter ate what I didn't eat because he eats anything over all for the price paid we were quite disappointed at the quality. Will not be returning any time soon due to.the quality of food. Service was fine.

Visited last night 27.09.2024. The atmosphere was very nice. The food was in No way at the quality of the prices listed. The smash burger was not a smashed. It was a large, thick patty that was cooked to burnt. The burger bun was dry brittle and came apart. The chips were standard. £16.49. My son has a chicken monster burger, still confused about how a lecture and tomato on a piece of processed chicken is a monster burger. His burger bun was dry, brittle, and came apart when he picked it up. The make your own sundae was great for him to make £7.99. The haddock was dry and over cooked, and the batter was crispy. £15.49. How they can charge £6.60 for a large glass of white wine is criminal. It gets 3 stars for the atmosphere only. The serve was ok, she did her best on a busy evening.

Was in for dinner with the Mrs and little one. Was served by Danielle, she was very professional, approachable and took time to speak to the little one and answer her questions. The food was excellent as usual. I had the ribeye, Mrs had the half chicken and little one had ribs. All served quickly and hot. Salad bar was great as usual. Can't fault the food or service. Highly recommended.

myself and my husband came for breakfast. we was served by the wonderful Zoe, nothing was to much and she made sure we was served in a timely manner. this lady needs a pay rise, as she was serving on her own while still providing an amazing service. thank you.

Visited today for a quick tea whilst visiting the area. The restaurant was still very quiet as it was early but we were made to feel welcome The service was great. Megan our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. There were plenty of meal options to choose from that all sounded nice. The food was served very quickly and was very tasty. We will definitely visit again if we are in Dudley.

It was disappointing. Not having the evening set meal. Made the food very expensive. So we left and went to the Hungry horse and for the price of two of your mains we had 2 starters, 2mains and 2 desserts

We visited for breakfast and were seated at the same table as last year, we were served by Zoe again, nothing was too much trouble, infact we will be back the same time next year, so we are looking forward to seeing Zoe again

We arrived on day 1 of the new menu. Good choice without the need to weigh up set menu over non. We had a flatbread, burger and loaded onion rings. Beautiful food and friendly staff (Zoe was our server) Thank you!

Ok place service was very good nice friendly waitress. I had the mixed grill.i didn't realise the half chicken I got was full of bones.i had dicect it my self A nice piece of chicken breast would had been better. The piece of steak was a bit tougher than I wanted with gristle. But the rest was OK.and the salad bar was good. We would go again but wouldn't have the mixed grill..

Booked a table for 7.30 tonight to get there to be then told have to wait a hour for a table but could eat in the bar and order at the bar , why then would I book a table

We were served by Megan who was amazing. I have an allergy and she went out of her way to check that everything was okay for me to eat. She was very helpful and had a lovely demeanour. If you go to harvester after reading this review, AVOID THE SCAMPI. Me and my girlfriend go to this harvester quite often and it’s usually really good but this time she tried the scampi and has got food poisoning from it.

Welcomed at the door and seated really quickly. Food was lovely, arrived quickly and was piping hot. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Had an overall great experience and will definately be returning soon 👍

Excellent food & service. Went for a small family birthday meal at mid-day on a Saturday. Ample parking, easy ground-floor access for older people. We were seated & served immediately at a nice window seat. Good range of menu options, including veggie. Two had Gammon steak which was very good quality; came with a range of sides. One had chargrilled chicken skewer and one chargrilled halloumi skewer; both nicely cooked & presented. Good range of soft drinks & good range of salad options ar bar. Portion sizes were ample - no room for desserts! Service was very good; friendly & efficient waitress. All in all a very pleasant & good value dining experience.

Megan was our server. After welcoming us she was very polite and took our orders. After our meal arrive she checked back politely to see if we were enjoying our meal. Having been to a lot of harvesters I must say this was the worst. Standard order is half chicken and half rack of ribs. Usually the chicken is nice and moist and the rack is half a normal full rack. Not in this place. The adult portion is half a dried out chicken and a child portion of ribs with no marinade. The fish and chips were bland and the burger was sub par. I did ask the server about the ribs on my half chicken and half rib and he kept saying it's the child portion. Service was so bloody slow. Had to ask the people to find out where the food was. They didn't come over even once to ask if the food was OK. Drinks (1 alcoholic and rest were pop) took nearly 15 min to turn up. No ownership or acknowledgment that the customer may have an issue with the food. This place is really letting the Harvester name down.

Chicken bbq stack is now not on my list of go toos. As piece I had was somewhat watery and gristle despite proporting to be prime Chicken breast. Service with a smile though.

A nice little tucked away spot to get a drink, haven't tried the food. It's a peaceful spot in a bustling business estate, surrounded by bushes and trees, an escape from the surroundings. The person who served my drink added to the pleasant atmosphere, and convinced me to leave a google review.

To begin with our request to be sat out of the way was ignored. The first member of staff was lovely, took our drink orders. We ordered our food waited a reasonable time for it to come, and when it arrived I was shocked! My nachos were anemic the jalapeño poppers were clearly frozen and tasted like water. The steak was fine but the chips were cold and stale. The atmosphere was okay, other than one old man staring at my girlfriend for a period of time which lead to discomfort during our meal. The salad bar was good the pasta was the best thing there so well done to whoever did that, good on ya. However. The bread rolls… I’ve seen deserts more moist than that… the lurpak butter wouldn’t open. Get a grip. Water tastes like limescale. Ice was Truely delicious perfect size to fill my glass.

Went there tonight to get away from football, it was very, very quiet we had to wait a while before staff seated us even though it was nearly empty! We ordered our meals my friend decided on rotisserie chicken with jacket potato to be told no more chicken or jacket potatoes! We went to salad bar had to complain as lettuce and cucumber were soggy and brown these were replaced then my friend found a hair in her bowl! We were then bought the bill and told they were closing(8.15!) Was this due to staff wanting to watch rest of football match! Whilst we were eating a group of 3 girls came in and we noticed they had the rotisserie chicken, how? Considering we were told there wasn't any left 😡 also when they gave us the bill it was the wrong one! We decided to go here as we hadn't been for a long time so decided to give it a try, BIG mistake probably won't go again until the customer service improves, if you want a decent meal with great customer service go somewhere else!

Even whilst the service was busy, our server Zoe and other members of the Harvester team were incredibly friendly and attentive. It must not be easy at peak times, but their demeanour never slipped and the food was brought out in a timely, tasty manner.

Great meal with friends today, really enjoyed it, our server was Zoe,she is so nice and looked after us, have been served by Zoe a few times now , she has so much time for people, and great personality .

Had excellent service from Chez such a lovely and friendly service , food excellent.

We took a group of young people along to enhance their independence skills. They all enjoyed the food, especially the ice cream sundaes. The staff and service were outstanding, helped us meet the needs of each young person.

Upon arriving at 8.30pm and checking prior to arrival what time they close which said 10.00pm online. We then got greeted by someone who I'm guessing was a member of management instantly got told they shut at 9pm. This straight away made us feel like they did not want our custom. Food was okay and our Server changed to a man called Connor and he was brilliant at what he did. I bought 2 refillable glasses of Pepsi and went to fill mine up at 9.10pm for the 2nd time to be greeted by a machine that was shut off which I'm guessing was a ploy so they didnt have to wait for me to finish my 2nd refillable drink which I had paid for. So thank you Harvester castle gate ruining my birthday.😂 Bottom line is people should be made to feel welcome first and greeted with a smile on their face rather than a face that says 'Oh ffs, customers at this time, gotta late one tonight now lads'.

Had a lovely family meal on a Sunday. We arrived after the lunch rush and were very hungry. Danielle served us very rapidly and the kitchen staff prepared our food in no time. The food was great. The atmosphere was a bit quiet and flat probably due to the time we arrived.

Penny was our server today. She’s lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate my girlfriend’s intolerances. Great service. Thank you so much!
