Came for lunch at castle gate harvester and Was served by Zoe, she was very friendly and welcoming Food was fantastic and cooked perfectly and the salad bar was fresh n filled, will definitely be returning 😃

Went this evening for a meal. Our server Gail was a gem... super efficient and polite ( even joined in with the dirty bird joke 😃) she was fab!

If I could give zero stars I would. Never will I visit here again, food was absolutely appalling, so much so that the bill was cleared as we barely touched the food. Staff weren’t exactly welcoming either.

A large capacity Harvester with plenty of free parking in the car park. Food was hot, prepared quickly and served quickly. The salad bar was fully stocked up. Having pre booked and mentioned that we had a baby and pushchair, the initial communication with the waiter upon entry was disappointing as he wasn't being accommodating to the fact that we had a pushchair. The table we were given didn't have sufficient space for a pushchair, it was very tight and there was plenty of other empty tables available.

The service was fantastic can't fault the girl who served our table, the starters were lovely the main meal was not good at all, both me and the wife had mix grill and he was not good. The steak was horrible and the chicken looked raw.

Food was late, staff was rude and not helpful when asked how long food was going to be, food came out cold sent back was not happy as it was a family birthday celebration and some people never ate anything. Poor service

Was served by Lee who gave us excellent service as when we got the meals, the chips were not hot enough so Lee got us some hot chips which was brilliant customer service. We will be back for more .....

We had a table booked for 7 of us for 8pm. Let’s just say, it would have been easier to tell us what they did have as opposed to what they didn’t have. The management must be real incompetent. No Burgers. 🍔 No Sirloin Steak 🥩 No Rotisserie Chicken 🐔 No Baked potato 🥔 No gravy . On the basis they sell themselves as the home of rotisserie chicken it’s somewhat embarrassing. 🙈 And please tell me how a pub runs out of burgers 😂😂😂 Really is laughable . If your booked in this weekend, I’d be sure to check they have had a delivery 🚚 Good luck is all I can say.

Parents booked for Christmas dinner, food was tastess, sprouts hard, everything seemed undercooked and they were ill. Seemed like something had gone wrong as managers running around in, what seemed, to be a panic. Won't be going there again.

When we visited on the 26th December we thought that the service wasn't so good the food was cold the coffee we ordered was left on the bar when we finally got it it was cold I know that they are busy over Christmas but we still deserve good service

Chez was amazing. She ensured we had everything we needed at all times. The food was cold and we were disappointed with this however we understand it is Christmas Eve and this was a possibility. We added a note on to the booking stating my Grandad was in a wheelchair however they missed this note and our table location meant we had to carry him up and down the step.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere, our server Chez was really polite and good about making sure we were enjoying ourselves, the orders came promptly without any issues. It was a really fun experience and we were glad to have gone.

Zoe and Lee are absolutely amazing. They are the reason we travel to this Harvester and visit so often. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they look after us like royalty.

Service was quite slow to take our order, when we got our dishes and glasses we got our salad and drinks then starters came which then we felt rushed,we had the Christmas menu,starters were ok,main meals were disappointing,turkey dinner ,asked for no peas so got ,two carrots!!!!, broccoli inedible couldn't even get a knife through it to cut it up asked for extra gravy didn't get extra gravy,no cranberry sauce,turkey burger was meant to be pulled turkey but was just sliced turkey,quite misleading,pudding was ok,nowhere near as good as previous years,we have booked for Christmas eve but considering cancellIng,very disappointing and not very good value for money

As soon as we walked through the door staff were attentive and welcomed us straight away, we were shown to our table within a minute and given the menu while our server (Zoe) got our drinks. Our order was taken promptly and taken with a smile. The food was excellent fir me and my ( plentiful and tasty). The server Zoe was excellent and got everything 100 % correct. Everything was spot on and we will definitely recommend your restaurant to our family and friends when we get home. Big up to your staff expecially Zoe, hope you all have a good Xmas.

I went to harvester today with family I didn't like it we got told that "you can't have salad before ordering " where before you can just go up and help yourself, and the prices are really expensive for meals i won't be going there again 👎😠 not a happy costumer, the place has gone down hill. Attended on Saturday for the breakfast with Santa. Food was lovely, Danielle our server was super friendly and attentive and Mr and Mrs Claus were fabulous. Really lovely experience, decorations were nice as well. Only improvement could be with the hot drinks, had a tea and a hot chocolate and they were both lukewarm but otherwise great.

We had breakfast and then visited Santa and Mrs Claus. We have attended lots of different Breakfasts with Santa in the past but they were the best Santa and Mrs Claus I have seen. So lovely and chatty and made it magical. Thank you so much 🎅🤶

We come here for every special occasion. We always get the steak and usually when you get an amazing dish the next time it’s disappointing, that’s not the case here. All three times the steak has been gorgeous and the service amazing! The Christmas decorations in there were amazing too! It’s always so cozy and warm in there and such a lovely atmosphere. Cocktails are lovely, food is amazing, and obviously the salad bar is a lovely bonus. Well done to everyone!The staff also put some candles in my boyfriend’s dessert and accommodated me so well. Thank you for making my boyfriend’s birthday so special. He loved it and so did I.

I got the menu around my neck and ordered half a rack of ribs. I actually wanted a meal so when It came I was disappointed and slightly embarrassed has I hadn’t read the menu properly. John who took my order noticed my distress and tried to take blame for it to make me feel better! Not only did he give me access to the salad bar he got the chef to make me a portion of chips to make it a meal. The world needs more Johns. It’s the little things that matter! Massive asset to the pub and all around great person. Thanks John I’ll be coming back.

Expensive meals had a £25 gift voucher for family meal but could only get 2 kids meals with it and no free pepsi.won't be going to there again😦

Went for breakfast with Santa. There were 9 of us inc 3 children (8, 4 &5) I can't say enough about how magical the experience was for the children. In terms of the santa experience: wow. The team have gone all out to make it feel like a proper Santa's grotto. Mrs Clause was even there! Even though the restaurant was busy, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. The team were attentive and personal. Would 100 percent recommend this harvester especially if you want a santa visit at an extremely reasonable price. Thanks so much to all of the team. We had a fabulous morning.

Such a shame that we had a bad experience. Been before but some time ago. Standards have definitely slipped. Our server did her best but was not that knowlegable about my allergy requirements. I had hoped for the Christmas lunch but was not sure it would be ok for me. So I opted for the chicken skewers because I know these are safe for me at my local Harvester in Wales. When my food arrived it looked nothing like the food I have had regularly in my local Harvester. The chips were over cooked but at least they were hot. The chicken was just about warm, the peppers and onions were cold but lightly charred on the outside, the flat bread was stone cold and doughy. A cold BBQ sauce had been dribbled over the whole thing. It had not been basted in the sauce. The hottest thing on the plate was the metal skewer. My husbands half roast chicken was small, chewy, tough and undercooked. At least the food for the other members of our party was ok. If we had not travelled to the area to meet up with friends I would have sent the food back or left. The cook was either having a bad day or was just not experienced enough.

We had a lovely family meal celebrating an early birthday for my mum. The food was very tasty with good portion sizes. My server Cheryl was very friendly and accommodating to my family. She was polite and friendly treating us like family. Cheryl also helped me decide what dessert to have finally settling on a kids brownie with ice cream which was the perfect way to finish my meal.

Popped in with my sister for a quick Breakfast and it was really lovely. Zoe was amazing and will definitely return.

Had a meal here last week celebrating a birthday . Ordered a 10oz sirloin steak which was not good at all , a large piece of fat and gristle down the one side not good quality at all. For £21 this should be a half decent steak , had better in witherspoon for half the price very disappointed

Excellent. I had stopped going to harvester years ago as it had gone downhill but gave it a try a few months back and it's been excellent every visit since. The steak last night was miller and carter quality and a lot better than tgi Fridays franky n bennys etc. Keep the quality of food and the pricing the same and I'll keep returning. One bit of feedback the kicking garlic sauce is so good but hard to get without asking other tables. You need to put several more bottles out.

The service was good and timely.. but the quality of the food was not the best. The beef burger I ordered was pretty cold and tough as old boots.. I didn’t eat it. I reported this quality of the burger to my server who’s response was simply ‘mine was ok earlier’ I’m sorry but I don’t really care how good yours was; mine was poor at best. Not what I expect from a Harvester. The atmosphere in here was fine once the little terrors on the next table had left; running around like maniacs while their mother just giggled all night.. must be a Dudley thing. Won’t be coming back sorry

Arrived early evening without a booking. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was Cheryl who greeted us a favourite friends and looked after us throughout our stay. She was equally attentive to the other diners that she was looking after. She is an asset to this restaurant. The food was excellent and I believe the kitchen may just be Gods. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Brilliant experience. The staff were very friendly and pleasant and also funny which was great. The menu had a good selection and the food itself was great. Kids didn't complain. The portion sizes are generous. The desserts were huge, couldn't finish them. Don't forget the salad bar, it's great. Look forward to coming back. Remember to get the Harvester app as it can make huge savings.

Staff were super friendly, put us in a good spot with other families so we weren't worried about my nieces causing too much noise disturbance. The music was a little loud and the staff noticed and turned it down without us having to ask. Food was served quickly and came out nice and hot! Will definitely be coming back here!

I recently visited Harvester at Castlegate with my family, and unfortunately, the place has really gone downhill over the past couple of years. The food was just average, not hot as it should be, and definitely overpriced for what you get. Even the salad bar was disappointing, with what looked like weird, murky water in some of the containers. It’s a shame because it used to be so much better. The one saving grace of the evening was our server, Jess. She was absolutely amazing—polite, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble, even when we had issues. Jess really stood out and made the experience much more pleasant. She’s the best in the restaurant and honestly deserves a promotion!

I received a warm and friendly welcome from Jess, who really went the extra mile to help me. When the meal I ordered wasn't available she found other options which I really appreciated. However, the salad bar wasn't up to standard- the lettuce container was watery and unappealing. I really miss the steak and potato cubes that used to be on the menu back in 2018/19. It was also cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, my visit last week felt like going to a very different restaurant. The food was just acceptable and overpriced, and while the staff were all lovely, especially Jess who was wonderful throughout, the biggest letdown was my food. The atmosphere was nice and friendly and my table was spotless, but ultimately, I went out for food after a long day and left feeling disappointed with it. Hope the quality improves or I won't be returning. Disappointed. Was my go to restaurant a few years ago and in a great place.

Well after not going back for a few years we finally gave it another go. Must say its much better now. Our server Gemma was fantastic and we will return more often.

Don't put review on very often but feel I need to in this instance. I ordered a normal cup of English tea when it came it was warm. The staff very kindly exchanged it for another one saying it is too dangerous to serve hot water. Iv heard it all now! Anyway she brought me another one that was luke warm. She apologised saying maybe the the tea pot was too big. I gave up in the end after my third attempt. All I wanted was a simple hot cuppa!
