I find it ironic that many are pleased to have found a non-chain - this is owned by Tesco (like a Wal-Mart) and have branches all over London. It’s decent enough but do locals a favour and get better coffee from actual locals

We popped in to HARRIS and Poole yesterday for a coffee and croissant and enjoyed the experience and food It made a change to visit another coffee chain rather than the normal high street chains Great quality and good service

My "go to" place when I am in the neighbourhood. Super coffee. A few stools, booths and along bench or tow to catch up with a friend

Good place and very nice staff. The espresso was good and the food is fresh and tasty. They also have the very famous Portuguese custard tarts. :)

They serve the best coffee in London. I discovered H+H after I got bored of getting Starbucks/Costa/Pret etc on my way to work. I think it is worth visiting. Food is also good.

: - (( it was very unpleasant

Easily located opposite Cannon Street station, this rustic coffee bar offers delicious drinks in a no nonsense setting. Ideally for rainy days. Always busy. Seating limited.

Just had a take away flat white for breakfast. Atmosphere was more personal than the big chains (Costa, Nero, Starbucks) and the "sit in" cups nicely rustic rather than functional white. Coffee was just the job and set me up for the day. A bit pricey though...

It was so hot walking from London Bridge I decided to stop for a break - it was too hot for coffee so I had a bottle of natural fruit juice and my daughter had an iced coffee. The young man at the till was friendly and chatty - very happy to answer our questions. The building was spacious and airy, tables clean and chairs comfortable. A great spot to stop and refresh. My daughter's coffee was really good - as was my bottle of fruit juice.

I tried the filter coffee. Medium size is 2.35 for a take away, more than twice the price of Pret. I was expecting it to be good. Unfortunately it wasn't. It was an odd experience overall. The server took my money and then went a served the coffee from an urn. When I asked where the milk was she took it away and took several minutes to get some. I'd much rather be able to add my own. Taste of the coffee was odd. Maybe this is what top-end coffee is supposed to taste like, but to me it tasted like standard coffee, with sour milk added. I don't know. But I couldn't finish it.If you're sitting or having a business meeting then this place is nice. You could imagine it being full of hipsters, but this being the heart of the city it was suits instead. No matter. Nice enough environment if you value that kind of thing. From tomorrow I'll be back to my regular Pret a Manger. Half the price, and much nicer coffee - at least for me.

Has become my favorite place for a coffee close to the office. Maybe the best coffee I had from a chain. Friendly staff and I like the layout of the shop.

Here you can watch the barista as they make your coffee. Why do other coffee shops hide this away, it really enhances the enjoyment?Service is always good and the coffee is really tasty.I suggest downloading their App as it gives you a free coffee for doing so. You can "check in" when you arrive and they greet you by name and know your favourite coffee, all because you add this information in the App.All in all a great experience and taste.

I've been a regular since the shop opened and always find the staff very efficient and friendly, even on occasions having my drink prepared as I walk in! (I sign in using their iphone app). Would have given 5 stars if the 'mix and match' lunch menu was still available.

These artisan style coffee shops need to serve MUCH better coffee than Starbucks or wherever, otherwise they might as well give up. A lot of them deliver on it, I don't think this one did.

The space is lovely, the staff are friendly, but I have got fed up of waiting 10 minutes (sometimes more) for a simple coffee to be made..... with the army of coffee makers and state of the art machines , I really am baffled by the lengthy waiting time (every single time!). Sorry guys!

We met up here last week with one of our sons for an early morning coffee, and a 'cake' for him (as we had already had our breakfast in our hotel). The service was very good (my coffee was replaced due to some minor spillage in the saucer), and the flat whites were all very good, albeit not quite up there with the very best we have found elsewhere in London.Probably worth a second visit.

Love the slightly rustic look, and service was great, but the elements that bought it down were those more in control of head office as oppose to the local site.Smallest coffee in town at 8oz for £2.30, at 8oz compared to the standard 10oz or 12 oz, but was it 20%-30% better, not that noticeable for me.I had a pain au chocolate as well, and very disappointed with this. It had the quality of a supermarket product. Not light and flaky as you would hope. For a company talking about being artisan, this definitely was not.

I've been to quite a few places in the city for coffee, and this is, by far, one of the absolute best places I've been. The staff are brilliant and friendly, they remember my name (almost all of the staff do now!) and the coffee is much better than anywhere you'll get at a standard chain in London. If you're in the area, definitely get your coffee here over anywhere else!

For the weekend, this coffee shop is a great hangout that offers cold drinks, coffee, latte, sandwiches, salads, pastries, snacks and WiFi. During the week, H&H is mobbed by the suits (business folks who work nearby) and can close in the early evening for private events. Ignore the suits, grab your table or chairs and type away on your mobile and laptop. Not a place for writer or poet to hang out during the workdays, but let's organize a meeting for artists and writers there on some evenings and take over this great place because the staff is sooooo nice and down to earth and the offerings are reasonable and yummy!

Came across this place when looking for a coffee near Cannon Street Station - its virtually opposite! The building itself looks like it could have been a bank previously, sympathetically converted.Very different from most chains, with an individual identity and personalised service, all this without being expensive (for London).Excellent coffee, rating up there with the best. Will visit again when I'm in the area!

It all looks OK but service is poor and the bar food served is cheap frozen food at prices that should require a far better quality. There are far better options in London

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.
