Happy Farmer Cafe in North Dorset

I had been wanting to try this cafe for a while now so stopped off today for lunch. Very disappointing. The food felt expensive for what we were served, cheap ingredients, poor presentation and service was lacking. It was a nice day so we sat outside but that was spoilt by dogs roaming free eating leftovers from tables left uncleared, dog poo not picked up and an old pick up truck which when started up engulfed our table in smoke! I won’t be returning and I would not recommend to others.

Turned up at 9.11 door was locked no sign of life apart from a confrontational man with an vape asking what we were doing with a dog on a lead (trying to find an unmarked footpath) and have breakfast Not an establishment for me with that kind of welcome

We visited Gorcombe as a company for some outdoor pursuits and built up quite an appetite after all the activities! By prior arrangement we had sole use of the cafe for food, a selection of curries and sides. They were delicious - catering for a nut allergy and vegans within our group too. The service and friendly staff made it such an enjoyable evening and everyone loved the food. I wish I had taken photos but would highly recommend. Such a warm and welcoming place to enjoy a delicious meal.

Excellent food freshly cooked, we had a cheese and chutney panini, salad and chips and a Happy burger, salad and chips. Large portions and delicious. Very clean rural cafe. Lovely large oat latte’s.

Happened upon this little treasure a couple of years ago so heading back down this way, we made a beeline here again. Always good food, we sat outside in the sunshine looking at all the animals and hearing the quad bikes. A must visit for a proper cafe feel.

Second time visiting. Food is great, tasty and freshly prepared. Decent choice of dishes and drinks! Cafe is pet friendly which is a plus! Would recommend and will visit again for sure! :) I saw some great cakes available - didn’t have a chance to try them though!

We visited The Happy Farmer Cafe for breakfast, service was fantastic with a lovely team of friendly people. We had a great breakfast and will definitely return again!

My husband and toddler have popped by the happy farmer cafe for coffees, cake and lunch in the past and it has been consistently great. We were so excited when we saw they had started roast dinners, with a newborn we had been missing one this winter. The food: The roast was better than I had hoped it would be; great quality food, cooked perfectly and a very good portion size! We couldn’t ask for more! The service: The food was bought out once we arrived, was so nice not to wait. The staff: I didn’t catch her name but the lady who served us was so understanding. Our toddler was having a tough time and she bought out toys for her to help calm her down. All the staff have always been so helpful on all visits. Definitely worth a visit!

10/10 roast, smiley attentive service. Have enjoyed a few breakfasts in the past, Will be back for more action soonnnnn

The best roast dinner I have ever had. Sadie was really friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Lush brownie to finish off. Will definitely be back

Amazing Sunday roast! Me my partner and 2 kids had a delicious meal! Staff were friendly and service was in good time! Great quality and very good price.

Just spotted a sign on the road and thought why not, and so glad we did! Beautiful outlook, yummy food and friendly team. Could do with maybe one more sign on the track but will be back if we're in the area again!
