Quick delivery, and very generous portions! Could have have definitely done with splitting a large cod between two of us. Chips were okay :) Would order again

Order arrived but was missing items, when I tried to call the restaurant (multiple times) they answered and hung up! Couldn’t get through to chase them so had to go elsewhere to fulfil my order, waste of time!

We got the most pale, under cooked , greasy chips I’ve ever seen. I ate half a dozen and couldn’t stomach any more. The fish cake was bog standard and the battered sausage was the only redeeming item. If we hadn’t been in a rush to go out tonight I’d have taken them back to complain. I will NOT be going again.

Really good tasty food and excellent portion sizes we will definitely be ordering again in the future!

I placed an order and received an order with very poor quality, I spent 3 days vomiting and shitting, taking several medications, I do not recommend you order food there.

Food was absolutely disgusting chips under cooked that under cooked looked white fish was soggy due to the container it come in not paper both curry sauces no taste and like water always ordered from here never had problems until the last 3 times whats going Hampton plaice not good

Food didn't arrive your driver took it to the wrong address. I will be ordering again I like Hampton plaice food. I am disgusted with your service the driver should have called me on my mobile

The order has been claimed to be delivered. It was not and is incorrect. I was waiting outside ready to receive and no one delivered

talk about a chippy going down hill,chips were terrible and full of hard bits,burgers that normally come in rolls came without rolls and the ordered bread roll was dry and tough,the only saying grace was the saveloys..never will I order from this place again..total waste of money

Just been here and spent £25 worse food ive ever brought pizza was absoloutly horrid i strongly advise to give it a miss.

After waiting an hour over delivery time i rang up and was told my order is out for delivery hour later still nothing but my order is now showing delivered and still nothing 2 hrs later and no response whilst ringing now im guessing no food

Stone cold chips was rock hard pie was hard like it had been sat there all day asked for plenty of salt and vinegar and scraps was sent nothing

The meal was awful the chips were so hard they would crack your teeth, went in the bin.

saveloy was tasty, kebab was nice although more onion than actual salad, chips on butty and kebab were all too hard. milkshakes both tasted synthetic so didnt really enjoy them, more cream than actual shake. Pineapple fritter tiniest bit oily but otherwise really tasty.

Disappointed this time, the chips really let it down, they were hard and didn’t taste good at all seemed as though these were old from being left, couldn’t eat them

This was the last chip shop i had to try in peterborough as i was dredding the reviews. I orderd cheesey chips halloumi fries and mushy peas … by the time i left the establishment and walked too my car (about 20 seconds) and tucked into them they were all cold and dry with the occasional luke warm one the cheese was identical to a cheese string . The halloumi was more a powdery crisp then cheese and after 2 bites i decided not to eat anymore dont even bother with the mushy peas as they were just off like they had put garden peas in i tub of warm water with green food dye … terible place too eat do not recommended stay well away far nicer places too eat chips in Peterborough

So dissapointed. Chips chewy and full portion of bits not actual chips. Wrap was ok but not the usual standard.

We had cold food, the kebab meat was tough like jerky and the pizza was fused to the box on the bottom. It’s disappointing as normally the food is excellent

Seriously how can a chip shop get chips so wrong! Massively undercooked. The box was full of scraps rather than actual chips. The few chips that were in there were white, stale and horrible. I also ordered 10 chilli cheese nuggets and got 6 again how can you even mess that up? I worked at this very same chippy a few years back before the owner change and it’s clear to me that the chips have not been cooked long enough and you aren’t taking care of binning the scrappy chips.

Delicious food!! Nice & hot on arrival which was on time. Very few chippy's do Spam Fritters these days & they were yummy!! Nicely cooked chips & a tub of mushy peas that were thick & lovely too. Very good meal. Good portion sizes. Thank you. Will order again soon

the scampi was horrible and the coating had fell off it the chips were cold

used to be one of the best! the chips were my favourite chips, until whoever has taken over changed everything. its all nasty now, I heard theyre starting to make pizza too? stay away until they sell it again and someone gives it a new chance.

Foods cold, chips are hard, chicken drum stick is so over cooked its dry and looks old, hardly any chicken on the bone. Chucked it in the bin

Never received, delivery driver obviously incompetent as delivered to completely wrong address not even the right road. Take always should have contact with the drivers so these things can be dealt with quickly. Rang HP nothing they could do. It’s a shame for the businesses.

Was very disappointed not to receive salt and vinegar on the fish and chips as was specifically specified in the notes. I didn’t have either at home so although it was great quality food and cooked well…it was really bland. Other than that, faultless

wow fantastic fish n chips really good value.

uncooked chips, soft and smashed together, big lump of bearly cooked and not eatable patato. to make them eatable we had to cook them in the oven. for that I could go to a local store and buy a bag of frozen chips for 1/10 of the price.

They just kept pushing the time back and back. Ended up being 30mins past the original time total of an hour and 10 mins for 2 battered sausages and a large chips. If you can't keep up with orders then decline the order don't mess around your customers by accepting everything knowing that the customer can't cancel via this app so are stuck waiting for you to get your act together.

I’m new to the area so I thought I’d try this place out, turned out to be a regrettable experience. I ordered a regular cod with chips, and the fish genuinely tasted of nothing. There was no flavour whatsoever - I think chewing cardboard would have been a better option. The chips were okay, just a bit dry. I had read the other reviews for this place before I visited but I still foolishly decided to give it a go, though I really wish I’d taken the other reviews more seriously and steered clear of this place. Cannot fault the staff, but something seriously needs to be done about the food, I won’t be visiting again until I hear of improvements.

Large kebab was only 380g but taste was very good. Cod 10/10 chicken 7/10 Good delivery on time 👏

I'm sure this would have been lovely as always but due to not actually being delivered by driver we will never know

Missing one item phoned restaurant who said they would send another out. Driver couldn’t find address second time then when I met them further up the road to collect my missing item I got back to find out it was the wrong thing…gave up. Service had gone very downhill recently.

Chips were too hard to eat, very small & the burger was like it came out of a tin. The large cod was great.

Fish was fresh but chips rock hard and savaloy stone cold. Not acceptable for the price i paid. I order from here regularly, and have had better today has put me off ordering again as had hard chips last time clearly recooked!

the fish batter was soggy and tastes like the fish was doubled up, we ordered a king rib it came in batter the pancake roll was not nice and the chips were hard not many soft ones the only good thing was the dutch smokey which looked burnt but was nice

One hit wonder unfortunately. Such a shame a fortnightly ago it was lovely. But tonight the southern fried chicken was horrid. Strange taste and slimy it went in the bin.

Ordered a large kebab with naan on takeaway. The naan had a greenish coloured fungus on the side, which I spotted during my meal. This place needs to be shut down for health and safety violations- only go if you want food poisoning.

Hmm, not the greatest chip shop experience. First time ordering from here and unfortunately the last. Chips, pie and sausage were very dry. Children's meal deal drink was missing from order and I paid for a 1.5lt of fanta but received a can. Delivery time was reasonable.

sadly the pizza was undercooked, the dough in the middle was not done. maybe if the pizza was thinner it'd work better. has potential though, adding something like oregano would improve it a lot too

I used to absolutely love Hampton's Plaice. They used to deliver good quality food in a timely manner. It is evident that they must have recently come under new ownership as the quality of food and speed of delivery that was once second to none has turned to nothing short of an absolute disgrace. Food has fundamentally changed. Horribly cooked. Soggy chips. Batter that you cannot cut through. Off smelling, old produce. Put together with a 2 hour delivery. Yet another decent establishment that's gone to the dogs due to new ownership who haven't got a clue. Avoid at all costs.

30 mins after original time given. unable to find address , rang and insisted they were at our address tried to ring shop but unable to get clear message when delivered told us there were 2 addresses the same in yaxley. food not hot

where was the mixed meat? I paid for mixed meat it was 95% doner meat. I am not happy. Ripped off.

Chips were too hard to eat & like scraps, large cod was not very big . Seems rhe fish size is not so good these days.

exciting to see new menu items! the pizza was nice, however i think the cheese on cheesy chips has changed to something worse, and the chicken nuggets are definitely much worse. go back to your old nuggets and cheese and it'll be really nice!

Pizza was cheap and nasty undercooked too and chicken salad was a packet of cheap chicken slices cut up

I've ordered food multiple times from HP with no issues, but this order was not good at all. Ordered Fish and Chips. Chips were fine but the fish was horrid. Batter was hard, almost like a biscuit and Fish did not appear fresh. Tasted like the fish was prepared yesterday and fried again today. This is the last time I will order anything from HP. Money down the drain, almost £50 worth.

Such a shame chips was undercooked and the fish had a layer of batter that needed a hammer drill to crack 🤦🏻

Probably one of our favourite places to order from. Every order the food has been hot and tasty. Delivery has always been quick. Definitely worth a try if you haven't already.

I've stopped ordering from here now as price hikes make orders far to expensive and food was never that brilliant,the quality of the food is not worth the high price..there are much better chip shops in Peterborough

Orderd from deliveroo last night two kebabs one normal one chicken. Salad was soggy food cold. Partner didn't eat his kebab because grease and taste. My chicken look grey had half. Now sat on bathroom floor with severe food poisoning and have been sick. I wouldn't order from here even again

Overall, the food was okay. The chips seemed underdone and soggy, hence the 3-star review for quality.
