they forgot the drink i ordered

Food was great, shame about missing the big bottle of drink.

Driver took ages to deliver the food and once he did, it was freezing cold. No explanation regarding him taking so long

Food not to normal standard,chips hard mord batter then fish and no sauce pots.

delivery said 19:30, arrived at 20:20. said was cooked fresh, so didn't cook it until it was already at least 20 minutes late.

potatoe fitters were hard needed cooking more

One hour and 59 minutes to deliver, food arrived and was cold, can’t eat cold fish and chips

Chips were under cooked and the burger was burnt and rock hard which is strange as it’s usually vg from here

My experience wasn't as bad as others. Delivery was quick and portions were about right. I didnt have anything in batter as this was bad when I've had it before, and by the other reviews it hasn't improved. The chips were OK, but I think they are bought chilled rather than a chipper on the premises (which defeats the idea of calling it a chip shop). I ordered salt and vinegar, but they arrived plain. The mixed kebab was also OK. The donner bit wasn't very hot and the salad was 90% cucumber (no tomatoes or lettuce, plain chopped cabbage and a tiny bit of onion). There was no option for chilli sauce so I had to have ketchup. From past experience it is unpleasant bottled chilli sauce and not homemade. They could make a few changes/make a bit more effort and be a great shop, but seem to focus on doing things on the cheap rather than quality. I dont think I'll order again in a hurry- it is only 5 minutes from where I live but I'd rather wait a bit longer (and pay a little more) for something of better quality. Let's face it, there are 100s of places in Peterborough who deliver and competing, and people are becoming more interested in quality as there is not much difference in prices between takeaways. I hope they read reviews and up their game as I'd like to support something in Hampton.

I received curry sauce instead of gravy and order is missing small plain sausage too

Got did it was cold one of my meals was missing and when that turned up part of that meal was still missing

Fish is really oily and tasteless,chips are all very small not like how chips shops chips should be tbh

My fish stuck on the paper and the peas were like water 😢

Not good this time. Chips were hard and fried like bullets. . Fish was ok but dripping lots of fat. Do not recommend now. Sorry.

When this first opened it was one of the best Chippy in Peterborough unfortunately it has changed hands so many times . The service is terrible not even a smile or a simple 'Yes please ' when taking your order the chips are like Tortilla crisp they were crispy and uneatable. Sorry but never coming back again

The delivery went to the wrong address due to an error on the app. The delivery driver asked for my address despite giving it to him repeatedly. He then hung up. When he did finally turn up he demanded a tip which I wouldn't give. Not impressed

The batter on the fish is always mushy not cooked at all. We stopped going there for months and tried it again today, only to throw it all in the bin and spend more money at Rumbles instead. Absolutely disgusting.

As you can see from your record I order this at 19:35 but the order didn’t arrive until 21:35, other then that everything was perfect.

The chips where hard and tasted horrible. Missing good as still waiting and it was for a child that’s now hungry. Kebab meat was like cardboard. Won’t use again!

Some of the worst chips I've ever had, have ordered a few times and they always are served pale and overcooked that they are rock hard. This is the only place I know of that serves chips like this and it's just completely wrong. I would encourage the owners to try the chips at their rivals and then compare to their own and see why a lot of people are complaining.

Everything was fine apart from the chips,They were like chewing on glass so sharp and dry ive never had chips like that before,Not value for what you get, i do wish they would change whatever they are doing to the chips and make them taste fresher and better.

Handful of chips if u don't have big hands, and a 2cm sausage for 5.49 , complete ripoff wish I could give 0 rating. Plus ask for no cabagge on burger and u get overwhelmed with cucumber

Tried this place for the first time on ubereats, unbelievable food, they don’t cheap out unlike all the other places around here, the portions are very good, on top of that the food is great, only thing is the chips are quite greasy but that’s just preference I guess, definitely my new go-to takeaway

My battered burger was missing the bun

The food wasn’t great at all, the chips were anaemic, the battered sausages didn’t taste great and the pie was very dehydrated and the contents was dry as it must have been sitting there all day. Very disappointed won’t ever order from there again. Money back please.

Specifically ordered before 5pm booking a 7pm delivery, food rocks up at 7.19. Order wasn’t even correct - very disappointing.

Food was alright but the melons need to learn how to read, ordered 2, 1.5 pepsi max bottles and got 1 bottle of 1.25pepsi max, minor inconvenience but happens far to often ordering from here. Don’t know how you can get it that wrong i would understand 1 bottle missing but to miss both and send the wrong size is just stupidity.

Received the wrong order, the food was cold and chips are stale. Received a lemonade instead of a milkshake and a curry sauce I didn’t order. I called and they refused to deliver the correct meal and offered for me to have the meal tomorrow, I said no as this meal was suppose to be for me to eat now.

sorry but that was the worst portion of fish and chips from this establishment I have had. The batter didn't seemed to have been cooked enough and it was soft and mushy.

It’s hard when you’re hungover to watch your food get further away from you as they are delivering to 2 addresses and I was second… a blast in the microwave and it was ok but the pukka pie was well overcooked and dry… before being reheated.

the rockfish looked and smelled like something found floating in the pond. the batter was limp. everything was stuck to the paper and to top it off the food was cold.

They put bacon in a burger that wasn’t asked for and salad in a kebab when asked for no salad

Third time we've ordered and always the same poor quality chips...scraps basically. Fish batter was soggy, so won't be using it again.

I have just got home to this battered sausage and chips the batter is soggy and is not edible at all as u can clearly see in these pictures. I rang to speak to a manager and there was not one and they had no emails or phone numbers they could give me. And have just told me to call tomorrow

Ordered fish n chips and battered sausage at the counter waited 15 mins so cooked fresh It was the worst bit of fish I've ever had the batter was so soggy no crisp at all it shouldn't of been served and same with the sausage batter was disgusting never going there again and my advice is anyone thinking of ordering don't bother!!! 10/01/2025

First time using both Hampton Plaice and Just Eat. Despite terrible traffic problems order arrived on time, quality was good, and the Just Eat app was easy to navigate.

Brilliant portions and a brilliant taste of fish and chips. 10/10

Just one remark, the bottle of Pepsi is advertised as 1.5ltr but it’s actually 1.25ltr needs rectified as trading standards would have a case. Other than that the food was hot, all the items were present and the delivery driver was very pleasant

Disappointed with the service of this place as this is the 4th time that they've messed up my order. I paid for a large cod and the send me a small cod. This is becoming a regular thing to happen now.

Pizza is very good and average price but cod has too much breading the oil was not hot enough or fish was thrown into cold oil. Two large cods were very different from each other.

Worst place to get food and I thought I would give them their 10th chance yes not 2nd every time I have ordered something is wrong but wait… I called them to order and I said can I have a 1/4 cheese burger meal with…. Get cut out and the lady yes that’s fine … not waiting for me to even tell her what meal so waited 2 mins come back and said yeah would you like anything else… I said so what did I order and she said vegi burger 🤣 like darling let me finish telling y out what I want before you interrupt me half way through and you might actually know what I ordered. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERY TIME. I can not stress enough how there is no way they are going to be open for much longer already have only 2.6 stars. Joke

I ordered large Cod & chips, a quarter chicken breast & a burger. The cod was perfectly cooked & delicious! The chips were just right, also nice & fresh. I asked for really juicy cooked chicken as I can't eat it dry/overcooked. It too, was perfectly cooked - fresh, v juicy & oh so tender. This is exemplary to other chippies who can't get it right! I've not eaten my half pounder beef burger with salad, but I know that too, will be spot on, cooked to perfection! I'll return, ty! 👌👨‍🍳

I’ve ordered this WITHOUT wrap or pitta bread and salad. Then I’ve got pitta bread with chicken inside and very little salad. Very disappointing with this. I expected a box with chicken and MORE salad.

Lovely piping hot food. Only down side was even tho order on the app for a certain time I had to wait a few minutes as they was busy but after eating the food I can see why it was busy and popular with the locals

Order arrived but was missing items, when I tried to call the restaurant (multiple times) they answered and hung up! Couldn’t get through to chase them so had to go elsewhere to fulfil my order, waste of time!

We got the most pale, under cooked , greasy chips I’ve ever seen. I ate half a dozen and couldn’t stomach any more. The fish cake was bog standard and the battered sausage was the only redeeming item. If we hadn’t been in a rush to go out tonight I’d have taken them back to complain. I will NOT be going again.

Really good tasty food and excellent portion sizes we will definitely be ordering again in the future!
