Asda in Peterborough

Asda reward app isn't rubbish if you have money as cash pod you cannot use ut on baby food, if you want you cannot use it to buy cigarettes alcohol or anything you want just the rubbish asda products that no one wants it no shopping anymore in asda so far tesco and lidl it's the best

I do all my food shopping at this store. They have everything I need to buy for the month. Due to location there have been a few incidents with staff. Though overall it's good value, convenient and spacious

i am really unhappy with the customercare . i had to take something out from the top shelf during my shopping. I asked 4 asda workers inside and finally they send me to customer care just to stand with my shopping basket in the queue to ask the parson at the till . N he got a perosn from inside the asda to help me take it. This was completely inconvenient.

We stopped into the cafe and what a disappointment!! This place was filthy and the service was absolutely terrible!! There was food all over the floor, on the tables and on the chairs … no napkins .. no clean cutlery and the cutlery holders were absolutely Disgusting !! I am surprised that the Peterborough council food and hygiene department has not visited them for an inspection!!!

Friendly cashier and purchased everything I needed except a reusable freezer shopping bag.

Very very disappointed with ASDA delivery. Booked a slot between 9pm-10pm and it was showing in the app that the driver is about to arrive. Waited till 11:30 and nobody showed up or haven’t received any calls from them. Called the customer care next day and store informed that they have cancelled my order because the driver was outside around 9:45, which was not true. I used to trust ASDA,not anymore.

I gone to order a pizza deal at asda kitchen 15min waiting just to order and then i been told to wait 1 hour if i want a pizza 0 costumer service never gonna go there anymore staff very rude with costumers

Poor management in shop. At entrance no baskets, have to walk all over shop to find some basket. At counter asked for a bag, I got reply sorry we don't have. What kind of shopping center don't have bags?

Used to like this ASDA But when I show up 11 minutes before closing and they won't let anyone in l, that is just unprofessional and disappointing. Understand why this store has such a low rating Yet again (09/072024) have arrived at 22:51 and greeted by a smug security guard that said they don't let anyone in past 10:55. I show him the time (22:51) and then tells me that he has now "changed the rule to 22:51" and told me "ofcourse I am happy about this, look I am smiling". Told him this was appalling customer service which he replied "I am not customer service i'm security". ASDA I recommend to teach your staff that all staff, client facing are part of the customer service Shame your reputation is spot on thanks to only a small number of emploies.

Aisles are far too crowded with staff/workers, some of whom aren't even wearing uniform. They constantly block the aisles with the big stock carts, the staff members collecting click and collect items are very oblivious and often get in the way. A lot of the time empty carts/pallets are just left abandoned in the middle of an aisle or on the end of one further blocking peoples way. Sometimes the cleaner is still going round cleaning the floor after the shop has opened. Don't mean to blame the workers for any of this as it feels like a management issue but it feels like so much stress could be avoided if shelf stacking/cleaning was done at 5/6 am before opening instead of while customers are shopping. They're usually pretty good at keeping the shelves stocked and the staff at checkout are lovely but even they seem very understaffed with only 2 people working at the self checkout/scan & go stations so sometimes I have to wait upwards of 5 minutes to get help.

The most poorly managed supermarket I've ever known. Never any staff, half of them don't have a clue and the place is filthy and disgusting. Don't ever order click and collect from here unless you want to wait 30 minutes for your order as all of the "press button on email to check in" and the tannoy systems don't work.

Great store, optician and cafe also there. Plenty of parking too.

I am very unhappy!I pay about Mascara Rimmel Black colour,but ASDA sended me brown black colour!I dont understand it!How can you put a different color without my consent!??I recommend everyone to check everything in the presence of the driver! I had a fantastic experience at Asda Peterborough the lady at customer service (sana) was super friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and the service came with a smile and that isn’t always easy in a busy environment. Sana you are a huge assets to the team. Thank you.

At approx: 10.00 (today 21/05/2024) i frequented my local Asda (Rivergate, Peterborough) and took my basket of 6 items and joined the queue at the smoke counter hoping for an expeditious egress. Alas, upon reaching the counter i was informed "i needed to join the usually undermanned checkout queue", to which i replied "i only have 6 items, i'm not about to join a queue of 3 shoppers with overladen trolleys as there is only 1 functional checkout". Staff member then raised her voice and pointed to the Customer Service sign above her head.i the said " i'm a customer seeking service" again she repeated "you need to attend the staffed checkout. At this point, another random Asda suffragette intervened and suggested "you can use the self checkout", to which my response was "i don't come here to work, so why don't you (Asda) keep your groceries and i will avail myself of an alternative supermarket" (not least German discount stores). Should these 2 ladies be stereotypical Asda staff then the Asda business model is in desperate need of addressing as I and others shoppers in the vicinity were left bewildered and rightly assumed Asda would rather lose sales than provide some semblance of 'old fashioned' service. Ergo, i am left with no option but to post this unseemly Asda experience on all my social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and X, (formerly Twitter) in order to alert all others. Finally, i shall never frequent another Asda, Asda Living or Asda George for the duration of my life. Robert M A MARTIN.

Scan and go service is a God sent.

I was upset of an incident that involved me and security guards on the 11/05/24 14/05/24 check out staff today was sympathetic. I made my shopping more better today so it’s now gone up to 2 stars.

Most disgusting Chablis- (Asda brand), customer service giving a you a favour to serve you- disgusting place- will never ever be back!

It’s reached new levels of filthiness. The workers seem to have a one-track mind when it comes to their priorities, and it's not helping out customers. Instead, they'd rather engage in endless chit-chat with each other.

Very scruffy store. Empty boxes on shelves stock untidy looks like store needs sort out. Really disappointed will shop elsewhere in future.

Very disappointed. Asda George supposed to shut at 8pm. Went at 7.40pm all doors locked and shut. Lost out out customers buying items till 8pm. Not sure if they just wanted to go home early but worked in retails and have to shut shops at the correct time 8pm. Not sure if they do this just to get out of leaving later and leave early instead of being open. No customer service . Disappointed as wasted journey and petrol costs.

Not the best of managed ASDA stores I have ever visited. Displays are often is a confusing state and today they didn't even have carrier bags. I abandoned my shopping and left the store. One of competitors got my business instead.

(A year ago 2023) One of the worst supermarket in town. Only two of the seven toilets were working, and they were filthy. The shelves were disorganised and messy. There was scarcely any staff on hand to assist. When I finally found one, he shrugged and said, "I have no idea where the item was." He continued doing whatever he was doing without trying to assist. (Today: 16 March 2024) Went back to the store a year later. The last photo was taken today. The toilets facilities have improved but no difference to food display.

Not sure what happened to my last review about Asda but here is a replacement. Went yesterday stock inside ok but it’s the location and atmosphere that is depressing. Always loads of litter blowing and usually begging as you walk in. Upon exit had person who was kicking in alley ask for cigarettes getting real close to me. I never feel safe in this area just get in out don’t speak to anyone and get your shopping. Security of store need to patrol grounds outside more and get the Police to make experience more pleasant. Broken cycle locks outside know someone who had electric cycle stolen. Used the cafe few times ok but basic last time went upstairs Male toilet out of action. Cheep food but only shop here if I don’t have any other choice.

The cafe wasn't that busy,but needs to wait 1hour to get your food... It's too long ,especially for kids. It's not the first time. I think store need to sort it out with putting more staff on the shift..

Went to the store on Tuesday morning I was not impressed. There was food trolleys everywhere in the Isles. The stuff were very unfriendly. There was only one till for superstore open people were queueing halfway down the lsles to pay for the shopping me and my wife would never return to the shop again

Absolutely terrible service, the slowest person on customer service desk, staff standing around not interested in the queue of people waiting, 20mins for me to be served and only had 3 customers in front 10 behind me waiting. Terrible

Walked in at 6PM on Friday and it’s like an apocalypse just took place. Products fallen off the shelves, empty boxes everywhere, abandoned trolleys, abandoned cages, mess all over the floor and more importantly, no staff to be seen. I order online from this place but I am shocked at the state of the store and the supervisors and management seem reluctant to set the standards…

great stock but terrible staff/shopkeepers. been there with my mum on 20th nov and she waited a long time, about 10-15 minutes, for her scan & go shopping to be checked out, especially one member of staff literally put the £25 gilette razors aside and my mum nearly forgot to put them back in the cart. just wow.

Potatoes brown food near end of life

Went in for lunch nearly all food removed from menu..went to toilets absolutely disgusting and filthy..needed baby changing facilities had go back downstairs when we eventually found the place they too were in a disgusting state all nappy bins very full smelt very bad unit to lay baby on was filthy never seen anything so unhygienic.

Came in at 5pm for some hot quick food, got a steak and potatoe bake and spicy chicken strips, they were rock hard! Over 6hours old in the heat? Your not aloud to hot gold chicken or most things that long at the temp where bacteria can breed ‼️ I’ve even seen chicken cooked at 10am still there at 10pm

We visited the Asda Peterborough Superstore a few times as we needed to buy a few things. The shop itself is massive and has two large entrances and there is a good range of food and drinks here. I do think that it's a little on the tired side and it feels like it is stuck in time and could do with a lick of paint. The staff are lively and they have both manned checkouts as well as self-checkouts. There was one time I came here to buy gin and I accidentally dropped the glass bottle and it caused a spill but the staff were quick to fix the situation and I was able to get a new bottle quickly. Their customer service is great here and I would recommend it if you're in the area.

11 months ago I gave 1 star but went to Asda on Friday and completely changed my opinion. Found staff very helpful and with a good attitude towards customers. This time I am giving a 5 star review ..... Keep it like that Asda..

We had just visited and bought few urgently needed supplies to cook dinner and did a self check out, made payment and collected our receipt but on getting to the door, the buzzer went off twice. A staff came over to check our evidence of payment and it was quite embarrassing. It obviously looked like we were selected to set off the buzzer because of our skin colour. My family and I will never visit Asda Peterborough even if it’s the last supermarket on earth. I will rate their service at no star, and I am being extremely generous.

This review is for the in house meat store Haji Baba. Most of the raw chicken they are selling has issues. I bought chicken breast cubes and kept it in the freezer. The next day before the expiry date its started to smell .It has a strong sulphur like smell. I had to trash it.

Oven is broken for over a year! My 5 year old wanted to go there once after we did our grocery shopping, and tried the chicken nuggets. Now almost every week, he asks us to go there for the chicken nuggets, but "unfortunately" the oven is broken, there's no nuggets or fish fingers... AMAZINGLY THERE'S PIZZA!!! I understand that, because kids eat for £1 and electricity isn't cheap, but wife and I also planned to eat there! We've eaten there against my will several times, but today we just left. That first time we went to their cafe we had spent over £200 in shopping. Almost 2 full months later received a parking ticket because I was there for too long... For years we did our shopping there, after that we just walked BUT ONLY TO THE CAFÉ BECAUSE MY SON KEEPS ASKING

after waiting in the que for 35 minutes my frozen items(ice cream)was melted and had to throw it away ,,they refuse to open more than one till no matter if the que is huge and they try and force you to use self service ,then you are lucky if they have carrier bags who ever is managing this store needs sacking this has gone on for over a year in this store

Received a 'penalty' notice for overstaying in the car park for the full amount from your appointed car park con-men, all because I had extra shopping and the first letter didn't arrive. The signage is extremely poor and not comparable with other nearby car parks. Truth is that i'll never spend another penny at Asda but I will continue to use your free dirty toilets and park in your car park for free. You don't buy customers by shafting them. Molly, I have contacted on Facebook but no reply. The saga continues. No I can't pop into my local store as I no longer have a receipt. If the staff had been more helpful on the day it happened instead of saying it was nothing to do with them. You are trying to cause me stress whilst at the same time making it look like you care. You're just playing for time until they issue me with a court summons!

Superstore dont have or dont see cold alcohol drinks

I did shopping at asda and tried to… I did shopping at asda and tried to open my app. The app has been updated so lost my password after fiddling about 30 mins to reset my password finally I managed to open my asda rewards app. Went to customer service to add points on to my app and was told I have to return all items and wait for refund to my account and then will have re purchase same items so I can get points. What a farce so I lost points due to asda update and ther software is so disgusting. WITH TESCO is it so easy take your recipet to desk and easily add points. What asda is doing is a con so I have deleted app and won't be shopping again in asda .Please people beware asda reward app is hoax and a scam. STAY AWAY FROM ASDA REWWRDS APP

Asda is a good supermarket but not this one. Someone needs to move the tramps on from outside the entrance and the staff here need to take a little more pride in their work. I still shop here but not regularly.

Huge Asda with two entrances. Place could be a bit cleaner, but has a large variety of choices for everything. For Americans, this place relates to Wal-Mart or Target. Pricing is fair, also if an American huge variety of breads and biscuits. They do offer self scan, and offer variety of payment options, bring your own bag

The lady in the kitchen was all by herself and was quite clearly stressed as she had alot of ordered to make. Really unfair to her. Management needs to do better, and as someone who works in that industry thought it was shocking that you put her in that situation.

Incredibly under staffed, far too long at tills.

In many places MUCH more expensive than Tesco, definitely not cheap as their ads would suggest. Full of unhygienic people coughing and spluttering everywhere, staff and customers alike, no covering up their mouth or using tissue/sleeve. (and I caught a really bad cold / genuinely believe in there due to this). Lots of people standing in aisles yapping loudly in their mother tongues and reluctant to move out of the way when politely asked. (IE "excuse me please") Finally got to a checkout, and the woman was THE most miserable person I have ever met. Rammed my shopping through with no consideration, did not crack a smile, and no please or thank you during payment. What a HORRIBLE experience, I shall never shop in Rivergate ASDA again.

No baskets at entrance. Discriminates against the disabled. I am partially sighted, hence can't drive, so relies on public transport. Therefore I am limited to how much I can carry. There are too many of these multi buy discounts where it's cheaper per item if you buy more than one. For example, I needed some orange juice. It was £1.70 for one or £3 for two. Well, I don't want two, nor would I be able to carry two with other items I want. I refuse to buy something from these so called deals. Why should I have to pay more for one because of my disability. I will be writing to my MP about this. Shouldn't be legal. Another example, Heinz soup, 5 for £6. Can't remember how much they are individually. Plus many other items, like fresh meat. Didn't buy hardly anything. Aldi or Lidl don't do these 'pay more for one than three' deals. Won't be shopping here again. I only popped in as I was in the area. Usually shop at Aldi closest to me, and will continue to do so.

What an epic fail!!! One hour after open time, tills are not open! I must have been shopping for 10 minutes and waited another 5 at the tills, wondering why no till is open, when I heard the first announcement, said in a totally rushed manner, that tills weren't opening until 11am, which was in about 10 minutes. There were probably 50 people waiting, some started leaving their stuff and walking out angry at the totally impudent inability of ASDA Peterborough management to deal with the situation. ASDA as a company must be absolutely brain-dead to allow such incompetent people ruin their reputation like that, for there is absolutely no reason valid enough to excuse opening a shop without opening the tills for ONE HOUR, and meanwhile some staff members loitering there in plain sight not even trying to let customers through (or give information). The definition of time-wasters. In times of massive unemployment, there is no excuse being short-staffed and I hope the useless staff are got rid of asap, for the sake of the customers, the business, the Universe and everything else.

I am a disabled person who is never able to park close enough to the store. Your disabled parking is always taken up by people without blue badges and no one is monitoring this. I have been coming to you for years and am being forced now to change to another store who is able to offer better facilities and parking for my condition.

Ridiculous! They let you in the store, but the tills won’t open until certain time. Products are over the place, you won’t pass pickers and there’s hardly anything left if you go an hour after opening. If other branches can manage it, why can’t you? You’ve lost anonother customer…

Another poor review for here unfortunately. Came in to get some items for a friend that were Asda specific and just wow. I read some of the other reviews and thought they were feeling a bit harsh but I can totally agree! 'The great unwashed' is a spot on comment by one - honestly, the odour from some of the staff here was unbelievable (not a lot you can do about the consumers!) After asking one for help I really was put off asking again for more than one reason. It's Saturday and there are just TWO manned tills open - the rest is self service = queues going up the aisles and no more opening. As for sense of urgency, that's close to zero. It's not a library peeps, it's a supermarket and nobody should be waiting so long in a queue to pay!

This store has to be the worst store I have ever shopped in, not just ASDA, that’s any store, ever! The entire building could be sold as a zombie apocalypse experience. The scene is set every time I go in there. The cast is always present, made up of the staff and Peterborough’s great unwashed - Barren shelves at all times of day, staff dribbling at the door as shoplifters flee with stolen Vodka. The homeless persons that work on rotating shifts greet you at the door, eyeing up anything you have managed to cobble together that the looters have left behind as you go. ASDA, you should be ashamed of your Peterborough store or at least award us shoppers with a selection of weapons on entry, so we at least stand a chance of survival.

Great shop for everything including the pharmacy. Clean and tidy the staff are polite and helpful even the security staff have kind manner.

So Asda now say we close at 5?? This isn’t true as I was turned away being told we are closed madam and when I looked at my phone 16:47 I said thought you closed at 17:00 now he said yes that’s right people are going to the tills now , you can’t come in. REALLY ! Why say 17:00 I wasted my time to nip there for cat litter…in the rain too.

Toilets were absolutely disgusting would have waited but was to desperate no toilet roll in any toilet a women in front of me had to ask a man to get her some from the male toilets and was messy everywhere.according to my brother the male toilets had no doors absolutely a disgrace

I took my dad yesterday for the £1 soup deal for the over 60s in your cafe and what a wonderful idea it is. We were served by the lovely Vanessa who is a credit to your store. My dad thoroughly enjoyed his soup. Thank you Asda and thank you Vanessa.

Went to store today. Cleaners must have had a week off because accessible toilet was covered in dust and dirt. We got some cans off shelf and they were also covered in dirt. One point tried to go down aisle to be met by 3 members of staff chatting whilst the cages they had were blocking most the aisle. Another member of staff was struggling to get past with Pallet but they continued to gossip. I didnt have much room to get my wheelchair through. The staff looked at me and carried on chatting. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. Sort it out Asda. Check inshore cctv @16.00 near bakery to find the culprits.

My shopping never arrived after 2 hours I had given up waiting.spending nearly a hundred pounds, and living in supported accommodation i am now left with no shopping now. No one contacted me to notify me either and instead I have had to try and track it down myself to see what's going on even though I work full time and had to get it delivered in the first place due to my busy work schedule. This was my first time using this service as I thought it would have been easier for me, and it was absolutely terrible. Complete waste of time and money, not to mention i couldn't find much help with customer services and im still waiting on an update, in the meantime all my money has been taken but products not received and now i have to go without . asda please sort your service out :/ 🙄👌

It's a supermarket. I tend to go there for specific items it is not where I do my shopping in general. I have noticed that their prices have increased quite a bit especially as I had always thought it was a cheap place to shop.
