The ones who know about the waiting time at habesha restaurants understand good things comes to those who wait. Lovely food & very nice staff. I really enjoyed the food. And all the meat options made me very happy! Authentic ethiopian and eritrean food.

When it comes to Ethiopian food we are novices and we chose a selection of dishes to share, on the advice of our charming and friendly waitress. She arranged them for us on a large injera (pancake) platter and we got stuck in for a highly enjoyable if inelegant (my shirt-front suffered from my lack of dexterity) cutlery-free experience. The Ethiopian beer proved to be delicious. On our first trip our waitress counselled against tackling one of the raw beef dishes but we tried some on our return visit and it was excellent. Bring cash (cards not accepted).

Visiting in London, came to this restaurant twice in one week with family. The first day, lunch time, there was only one lady taking orders, bringing out food and drinks to the tables and receiving payments even though there were more than 6 different parties in the restaurant and more coming in. One thing I noticed was that they didn’t take any other payment methods but CASH. No receipt was offered. In these day and age, a good size restaurant which doesn’t give payment options and takes only cash is suspicious. Loud religious music was playing to a point where you hardly hear a person next to you. The food was ok but not any thing special compared to other Ethiopian restaurants I have been to in London. A family Member and I decided to visit the restaurant again because it was conveniently closer to where we were conducting business. This time the same lady was working alone once again and the same religious Chant music was playing even louder from YouTube because advertisers would pop up here and there. We asked the waitress to either shut it down or bring the volume down. She asked “why?”. We politely responded 1. It’s a place of business and you are obliging us to listen to it disregarding our right as customers. 2. It’s very loud and we can’t hear each other as we were carrying a conversation. The lady flat out said to us that she was neither turning it off nor bringing the volume down. Socked tremendously by her bold response, we asked for a manager or owner. She very confidently gave us the owners business card with smirk on her face indicating that there will be no repercussions for her horrible customer service. I have been around some and I have never seen a blatant disrespect to customers in my days. This goes right on top of the list for me. MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO HAMER ETHIOPIAN RESTAURANT, which is located in Shephard’s bush, London AGAIN.

Hamer is a great spot for an authentic, delicious Ethiopian meal. The service is basic, with just one option to pay. Cash Only. How is possible that in London, in 2022, this kind of situation - a tax-free environment, without receipts - is possible? If you want to try an authentic Ethiopian experience, no fussy and a very easy-going place, Hamer is your restaurant.

Necesita mejorar mucho.

Hamer is a great spot for authentic, delicious Ethiopian meal. Really good, sumptuous. As good as going to Addis for injera and your favourite sauce: doro wot, tibs, shiro, beyaynetu..

We have been going for several years and have always enjoyed every meal. Go there before it is "discovered" as the food is as authentic as it gets. Alas, they no longer serve the locally brewed "tej" but you can get a good range of meals for both meat lover and vegetarian / vegan I have classed this restaurant as mid range but really the prices are far less.

At the last minute, I found this Nigerian restaurant that serves vegan cuisine, as my friends were travelling from Germany and Bulgaria to explore London. The food and hospitality were exceptional. Nk
