Came here and ordered the Holy burger (£11.95) with added mushroom (a ridiculous £2.95 extra for a few slices), a small glass bottle of diet Coke (£3.25) and some fries (£4.95). When the food came it was all cold. I complained and rather than make the food again for me, the waiter was just really apologetic and said he would take something off the bill and offer me a free coffee, which I did not want. When the bill came he had just removed the optional service charge (£2.89), so I again said as this was optional I thought they should have removed some of the cost of the actual food. He said he understood this but it's all he could do. Never again. The final bill was £23.10 for a cold burger and fries. Avoid.

There are plenty of Burger Places in the area but this is the worst. The bread is tough, the meat is tough and the taste is not good. Both of us felt sickly after the meal. We also balked at the price which was £48 for two burgers, one fries and two cokes. The staff were generally surly and unpleasant. I was compelled to write this review for the all round negative aspects of this place.

So was shopping in John Lewis and needed to get some lunch and discovered this restaurant.Seemed a bit quiet but this was fine as I wanted to kill some time as well has have something to eat.I am not very good at choosing something to eat when it comes to burgers so I asked the waiter for some advice. You also get a choice of the bun as well. He suggested the sourdough. I cannot remember the name of burger I went for. I also ordered fries with bacon and cheese to go with it. The burger is lean and together with the other lettuce, cheese and bacon, all made a lovely combination. The chips were very crunchy and the cheese and bacon made the experience that much better. Was a very relaxing experience and the waiters were both polite, professional and knowledgeable. No problems coming back to eat here when in John Lewis again. The burger

Was in John Lewis during lunch and thought hey I would get me a fancy burger for lunch. The only good thing about the lunch was the staff, they were welcoming and pleasant. A burger that touted their beef and named it holy, I was left largely underwhelmed and chucking my French fries in the bin on the account that they were chewy and tasteless, the burger was over cooked and very greasy, now I am left hungry and feeling queasy.

Batidos eran pequeñas y no correctamente mezclado (6 libras). Hamburguesas eran pequeñas y media y grasienta rancio pequeña porción de patatas fritas 3 libras extra. The food here was incredibly disappointing. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was so saturated in fat that the bread was soggy and falling apart. The pork itself was lacking in any flavour (it didn't appear to have any sauce, aside from oil). My colleague had a similar issue with his burger which had an unwieldy mountain of cream on top that went everywhere and he complained too that it really didn't taste of much at all. This might have been because we had to remove the bacon (which he'd asked not to be served for religious reasons but it came with it anyway). All in all very disappointing.

So - Oxford Street was seething and I was hungry. Without any plan I ended up in Ham Holy Burger in John Lewis (not least because of the unusual name.) It's a burger joint with a difference - Italianate burgers. The decor is airport modern; this was mid-afternoon and there was no problem finding a seat. Service was prompt and friendly. (Thanks, Michela.)Oh - what was the meal like? The burger was excellent (served in one of those buns that looks like it's a Fisher Price kitchen toy) with skinny fries (generous helping) with mayo and ketchup. Recommended? Yes. Will I go again? Yes.

The salad was served at 2.45 and the burger at 2.50, 1hr 10min after we sat down. The excuse given was that the kitchen could not cope. this is not the type of service I expect within a John Lewis Shop. Our experience was totally different to that of many other reports, perhaps the kitchen was having an off day, if so they should have closed the restaurant rather than provide poor service.

The list of the Gourmet burgers is long and very different from usual burgers (I usually get a Romano with pecorino); I'm Italian and I know these ingredients are very good and a different twist for a burger. Replacing a typical cheddar cheese with an Italian cheese like scamorza or pecorino is simply a cool idea that I appreciate because I don't find it anywhere else. Plus the service is quick, just for a lunch break and the atmosphere is nice and friendly for being a "shopping centre"! Go there and try a different burger!! :)

I took business partners to here for a quick meal as it was local, and at 12noon on a Friday, finding the place empty should have rang the warning bells, but the decor looked nice and modern, plus we had only a short amount of time to go elsewhere and to get a meal at lunch time for a party of 6 with out booking is nigh impossible on Oxford Street. So my colleagues ordered 4 burgers and two salads, the staff acted like we were more of an inconvenience that customers. We simply given the menus, and the waiter/manager asked what we wanted, the menu looked good but oh so pricey £10.45 for a basic burger, plus another £4.95 if you wanted fries. Well having made the effort to go up the 3 floors of John Lewis and being short on time, we stayed and ordered 4 burgers and two salads, we declined drinks and just went for tap water - the look of horror on the waiters face. The food turned up after about 15-20 minutes, it looked nice enough, but as usual these days the burgers have to be served up on bits of old wood, which can not be put in a dishwasher, so you have to wonder how these can ever be really hygienic -plates were invented for a reason!. Any way despite asking for my burger to be just plain, and well done, I received a blood stained bun, and a burger that was cold and partially cooked in the middle was still "blue" as they say. Quite disgusting, and a health hazard, as minced meat is likely to introduced bacteria from the exterior to the interior - with a Blue Steak, the outside is seared, and as the meat is intact the bacteria can not enter. That's why a blue or slightly cooked burger is a dangerous thing folks! Any way, I had to find a waitress in this still empty joint, and she took it back without a word, 3 minutes later the same burger was returned (I had cut it in half when I saw blood on the bun.) and saw it was a new bun, but the burger was now cooked completely through. So that I thought would be the end of it, nope one bite and you could taste the stale cooking oil, it tasted like they had just tossed it in a deep fat fryer - vile and I have been sick since coming home. The waiter/manager in fairness did not charge me for the burger, but with the exception of the salads, everyone agreed the burgers seemed extremely oily. The waiter/manager insisted to me they did not deep fry the burger, but honestly if I had wrapped it in a piece of kitchen towel you would have had enough oil to fry a plate of chips. I am disappointed that the service was so unfriendly, apparently the staff have had personality by-passes, never a smile, thank you or any sense of welcome. Then to top it all you are expected to pay £15 for a burger and fries, when you can go to any of the Bistro pubs in London, get a bigger hand made burger, fries and a Pint for that, and be made to feel welcome. This is by far the worst place I have eaten in a long time. This may be a popular burger chain in Italy, but if they want to succeed against the likes of Five Guys and GBK then they need to learn how to cook a burger on a grill and not a deep fat fryer, and realise people do know how much a bag of oven chips costs, and £4.95 get's you 20kg of potatoes, not a handful. I understand that being on Oxford Street and a concession inside John Lewis must be expensive, but not that expensive that you can not include a few fries with your burger, but then if you can not cook a burger I just to dread to think what the fries would have been like. John Lewis, if you want people to be happy in your flag ship store, then I suggest you have serious words about this concession, as it is going to make some one very ill.

While shopping at John Lewis I decided to have a lunch at Ham restaurant. It looked fancier than other options, so I gave it a try. Let me be honest and say exactly what was my experience.Pros:Decor is pretty;Food comes at a reasonable time; The food is good ( maybe not the best burger I ever had , but quite delicious) Cons:The service is O.K., but not friendly at all.The waitress just came and put the food on the table without even saying the simple words like please or enjoy or please this is your burger and that's potato and that's water and wine. Nothing, not even a smile! Same was in the end with the bill. Seriously? That's at John Lewis , at a restaurant where for Holy burger, potato wedges one glass of wine and water you have to pay around 30 pounds? At least you should expect a better treatment as a customer. I understand that the restaurants are outsourced and not operated by John Lewis management , but at least the whole experience of shopping should be nice including the lunch break. If they just train/change staff , the high prices would be excused, as the food is not bad whatever you say.

We decided to pop in here for a quick bite during some sightseeing in London. We are accustomed to paying above average for lovely dining experiences and great food and we enjoy doing so. But did not expect to pay £45 for burger and chips for 2 people. We may have forgave this if the food was good. It was not. The hotdog bun I received was stale, the hotdog itself looked like it came from a tin. My partners burger was nothing special. Meals should come as a whole but if you wish to have anything accompanying your meal you have to pay £4.95 extra for chips etc. What a disgrace. For the price the service is extremely lacking with a waiter who did not look very happy. Do not go here you feel robbed, when you can receive better burgers at a quarter of the price in many other establishments in the area. I can honestly say I received more enjoyment from my McDonald's burger I had later that day.

For a quick bite while in John Lewis this is worth a look. We had the Holy Burger and the Genius Dog. French fries come in (not so) little buckets and one is probably enough for three!! Wine and beer also available

Visited here on a lunchtime...and we were 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant. They only had 1 staff member, who could barely speak a word of English which made ordering very difficult. Several items were missed from the order and several things came out wrong. We were a pretty simple group ordering simple dishes...but the waitress seemed to forget everything- and also wasn't very apologetic when we asked for our missing items etc. To be honest- we felt sorry for her and John Lewis should have had more staff on- and also ensured they employ people with a good level of English as it was extremely painful service. Would not recommend when you have so many fabulous burger places in London.

Took my four year old nephew here for X a burger at ther restaurant HAM. The place was dirty all of the glass needs a deep clean, from the balustrades in the store to the table bases and especially the booths. It was. Sunday at 2:00pm only a manager and a trainee on not their fault but we waited and waited other people less. Not their fault John Lewis cut backs. Chefs in toilets no hand washing!!!! Good was poor not good they should stick to what they know best which is retail. Give this dirty restaurant a miss!!!!

Nice venue but don't bother with the veggie burger on offer. Tasteless and it really needed some seasoning! Hugely over-priced too. Nice fries, okay red wine, service was friendly but slow. Get the chef down to Shakeshack to truly understand how amazing veggie- burgers can be. This place probs for carnivores only overall.

Avoiding the usual Thursday congestion, my wife and I decided to browse around John Lewis Oxford Street. It around 6pm and we feel hungry. Considering that good places to eat are quite a distance away in Carnaby Street, we decided to try Ham Holy Burger on the 3rd floor of John Lewis. It seems to be providing great food. i thought John Lewis would not allow second rate restaurants in their premises. So we went in. At that time there was only 1 customer. I ordered the Genius Hotdog. My wife got the Souldburger. We also got some french fries with Porcini Mushroom dip.The order came with coleslaw and 1/2 corn each. The corn is freezer cold and seems to off. It is no longer sweet and instead tastes a bit rancid. I told our waiter nicely. I was too afraid to be pushy. He is quite tall and have a beard like a Hells Angel rider. he came back after around 5 or 8 minutes. This time, the corn is fresher and hot.Now for the hotdog and burger. The hotdog looks and tastes like those hotdogs you buy from Tesco. You know the one that comes in a glass jar. Not worth the £10.95. The burger's meat patty is so small. I could compare it to BK's 99p cheeseburger. BK's burger tastes even better.Lastly, paying the bill. The manager is so busy on the keayboard. He was told by our waiter that we are ready to go. We waited 10 minutes and decided to stand up to catch the manager's attention. I know he can see me but he just carried on his typing. The waiter saw us and went to the manager again. The manager said there is the receipt by the machine. This manager does not seem to care about customer service. Now adding insult to injury. The bill includes a service charge of 10%. If I was happy I would give more, but I am most definitely not. They continued to charge me the service charge.AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Go to Carnaby Street where you can find better restaurants and are probably value for money than this Unholy Burger.

Ham Holy Burger at John Lewis in Oxford street is great. They make burgers to perfection. The environment is simple and the service fast and friendly. I am not a huge burger fan but my holy burger was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. Ever. Not to mention the beautifully cooked potato wedges. And for vegetarians, try the Garden Burger. Aubergines, courgettes, portobello mushroom and tomatoes with scamorza cheese, lettuce and basil mayonnaise. I recently had a jacket potato in a pub which was bland and tasteless. So I love it when people keep it simple and do it well. Try HAM I don't think that you will be disappointed.

Decided to have a lunchtime meal having shopped at JL Oxford Street. Liked the look of dining area with regards styling on the 3rd floor. Gourmet Burger menus leave a lot to be desired at the best of times. They tend to be overpriced, but do offer certain twists to the variety of flavours. Ham Holy Burger falls into this remit to some extent. The fries were heavily salted and served in a newspaper styled cone. The burger stack is served in a split paper bag and presented on a round stainless steel serving tray. I found this to be rather strange and added nothing to the presentation. I chose the Peakburger which contained Jerusalem artichokes; there were 4 very thinly sliced pieces added to the burger stack and were tasteless.Beware of the optional 10% service charge added to the bill at the end. If you didn't get good service, delete it!

Only dined here as the Italian next door didn't have anything that either of us fancied on the menu, wish we hadn't bothered.Had high hopes for this place but let down. After placing our order with the waitress, who went over the order about 3 times & we had to correct her with what we actually wanted. Partners burger arrived and surprise surprise was wrong!! Write it down, it's not difficult.Don't offer a gluten free bun so had my burger naked (without the bun). Thank goodness I ordered bacon and cheese as the actual burger was tasteless.Very over priced for what it is. £43 for the two of us and not a drop of alcohol insight.Obviously won't be going back

It's such a shame the service was so poor. The burgers were tasty when they eventually arrived minus the fries, which then showed up after we had nearly finished our burgers. The milkshakes were served in a small wine glass, leaving you feeling cheated at £5.95!! This is not a friendly or welcoming place. Definitely not in keeping with the John Lewis name and level of service.

Popped in here for a late lunch on my own, knew what I wanted, but was "not allowed" to order immediately - was told that someone would be over to take my order shortly. So I waited. And waited. And waited. A man came in a few minutes after me - also on his own. I was still waiting to order, and he had given his order and received his drink! Finally managed to attract someone's attention and ordered. Food arrived promptly, was fine, although the tomato in the tomato salad was cut too large and the "croutons" were a couple of breadsticks perched on top.My table was cleared and I was asked if I wanted something else. I didn't. I asked for the bill, but it didn't materialise. It took another ten minutes or so to attract someone's attention to get the bill. Other tables - families, couples, men on their own - didn't have this problem. I seemed to be invisible - as did the woman sitting a few tables over from me, who was having to wave frantically to get attention. The waiters were more interested in preening themselves or talking to each other, rather than serving.I'm a regular here, but I won't be going back after today's experience. The restaurant is in John Lewis - surely quite a percentage of their clientele are going to be women on their own? Really appalling service - shame on you, Ham Holy Burger.

In a city full of good 'gourmet' burger joints you can do a lot better for half the price. Beef patty rather pale and over salted- perhaps because it came topped with rock hard grilled Parmesan and rather dry Parma ham. Good fries. Nice selection of craft Italian beers but at nearly £8 for 33cl I won't be back for more. Bill for one burger, fries and small beer £27.
