Food as bad as last time fish grey vegetables under cooked

Not sure what went wrong today. I ordered some food and didn’t receive half of it. Genuinely disappointed. During this time when everything is getting expensive, it’s a more thought out choice to get a takeaway and when you order you expect to receive all of your food. Unfortunately today we did not receive half of our order - either things were forgotten or out of stock I don’t know which but I am very unhappy with the service. The food itself is nice and I have ordered before and things have been good. However because of this recent order, I will most likely not be ordering via takeaway again.

Usually we have a good experience here, yes bar service is constantly on the slow side but hey, if they’re under staffed they’re under staffed. We went today to try and get Sunday dinner where it was admitted busy. This isn’t my issue. The issue is the older, blonde haired woman with glasses and her attitude. Every time she came to the front desk to seat people, she would tap on the screen, look at the waiting customers, huff and walk off. No “I’m sorry I’ll be with you when I can” just completely ignored or rolled her eyes or huffed. We were one of four other family’s to walk away because of this. Dread to think the money that has been lost for you guys today due to this woman’s poor attitude and appalling customer service.

We had a wonderful day with the kids and family. There was lots of variety for the whole family. Jenny looked after us from the minute we got there until we left. We will definately go back.

Ordered a burger that didn't look anything like the picture but oh boy it was nice it was supposed to have button mushrooms but didn't have any and the server didn't bring them by the time we were ready to leave . Lighting is dark couldn't read the menu until we got our phone out to use it's torch light overall nice food and pleasant surroundings

Not a bad carvery, lacks the professionalism of a Toby, but I'd go back for sure.

Brilliant visit with family from out of town. Staff were amazingly accommodating shout out to Kay and Gina. We made use of the kids eat free in the summer holidays promotion and had a fabulous time sat by the children’s area.

Beautiful food, friendly staff. Well with the money

Fabulous carvery for three of us, 2 small and one standard size, meats melted in the mouth, good choice of vegetables and delicious apple crumble 1 with cream and 2 with custard. Jen our waitress was very friendly and deserves a special mention. Good choice of non-alcoholic beers. Plenty of parking spaces in a large car park with an easy digital car registration sign-in system on arrival.

Food was good but I was appalled by the price of the soft drinks. £3.55 for half a pint of draught coke. Where is the incentive to prevent drink driving?

3 of us went for a early midweek lunch. We were greeted by Jen a lovely friendly young lady, she reminded us to put our Car Reg number into the machine then showed us to our table. We have been here a few times and always have a wonderful meal. Kay bought our drinks my husband had a burger meal and said it was lovely my daughter and I opted for the carvery. It was only just after 12pm and the meat that was out looked like it was left over from yesterday. It was very dry. The veggies were lovely and fresh. We will return but perhaps not so early next time.

Meal was OK not very hot greens where hard otherwise ok

The food for the second time going there was not very good at all potato was hard the vegetables where all hard the carrots so hard no happy at all took son daughter in law and 3 children.

It's like a Toby carvery, but if you thought that Toby's food was just a bit too high quality.

Great service from Maria today very friendly and willing to please. Couldn't do enough for us from the moment we walk in and she seated us till we left. Daughter had a lovely birthday meal xx

10 of us out to lunch everything OK apart from my wife's jacket potato was really cold and could not eat

To further reference... don't not order online .. nearly 2 hours wait and still hasn't came ... try and phone them they don't Evan answer the call !! £54 wasted

Staff were very eager to help and do their best to accommodate our party even though we turned up without booking and at a very busy time.

Jen was a wonderful host. I would highly recommend a visit here.

Great food, lovely staff, very clean! Update We have been here so many times since my review but nothing beats today. Shout out to Jen. Jen noticed that my food was going cold while i was settling my daughter so she offered to put my food under the hot light until I was ready. She even said if it wasn't hot enough, I could get a refresher. After, I got my food back and started to tuck in, she came to check on me to make sure it was okay and see whether I needed a refresher!

Cakes to die for Massive there was. Too big to eat in one sitting

So I'm a southerner (don't hate me lol) this was my first roast here, it was different but lovely, the gravy was nice and hot and I was stunned at the cake, they don't leave you hungry lol. Veggies cooked lovely the parsnips were amazing. We'll be back for sure thank you 10/10

Ridiculous rip off ordered large carvery it came with 1 price if fatty beef no veg 1 new potatoe red cabbage which was the only thing we didnt want in it and disnt bring our cakes this place is absolutely diabolical i wiuldnt recommend any1 orders from here £ 40 wasted for not even a 3rd if a dinner

The bar service at this outlet is always slow and products not available. But last Friday evening was the worst ever. After waiting for nearly 15 minutes we walked out to go somewhere else. There is never enough staff on duty a peak times and staff are more concerned about filling the shelves and fridges or washing glasses than serving. We won’t be back again

Well the food was ok - but I have been to better Farmhouse chain pubs where there has been more selection of vegetables. But the cake away 🙈. I ALWAYS have the giant eclair today it came in a cardboard box and was a DISASTER 😭……… when it was served in a clear plastic container I could clearly see what I was getting and which way up to carry it …… today I received a HEINOUS chocolate mess in a box!! So soooooo disappointed & angry!! 😡

Food is grate but items keep going missing need to seal the bags like other restaurants and the restaurant needs to take more care of there orders as people like myself will stop useing the restaurant

I am a wheelchair user with assistance dog. This place actively welcomes me, makes it easy. The buffet breakfast is perfect. The evening carvery is fab... creamy smash.... plenty of veggies... its like a family dinner but without the arguments!!! Lol

On arrival when booking a table. The manager (In striped shirt) was very abrupt when finding a table, for 6. He told me he wasn’t putting us where we choose as it’s 6 weeks holidays. Kids & families come here. He came across like he didn’t want the disability group sitting next to others. The place was very quiet at the time. I never liked his approach he needs training on people skills. Overall the food was delicious & the staff who served us drinks & food.we’re very polite.

Came for breakfast not the greatest seemed like it was deep fat fried but the shining star was Maria great service and a friendly lady couldn’t do enough big thank you!

Ordered on app my food came but no drinks. my friend went to get her carvery and then I had to go to bar and get drinks. Waited ages for dessert to come but only after asking a waitress. Poor service

rude bartender (bald with glasses not sure of name). kids wanted icecream bartender completely blanked them. served all adults beforehand even though the kids were there first. after he finally took their order he was very rude towards them. terrible customer service!!!

Very disappointing. I have been to many Farmhouse Inns due to travelling with work and always had great experiences until I came here last week. Staff were rude and food was average at best. Will definitely be looking for somewhere else to eat when I’m back in the area again.

First experience visiting here, we called for a late lunch after our daughter's appointment at QE Hospital, enjoyed our food, but I really fancied the Carvery, but there was no Gluten Free gravy available. So went with the GF Hunters Chicken options.

Came here for breakfast before walking to Turner’s Hill. Good hot and tasty buffet breakfast. Very friendly staff.

Very busy and the ordered food came quickly. Car parking is difficult as it was busy. There was no pizza or pasta for the children. Carvery is very good.

We were initially greeted by a very happy smiling lady by the name of Jen who seated us exactly where we wanted which i found valuable as i’m disabled & a high soft backed seat goes a long way to assisting me with my enjoyment of the experience, ordering food & drinks was so easy, quick & hassle free & not to mention not heavy on the pocket either. The atmosphere is that of a calming nature but welcoming, with soft lighting & not too loud as you’re unable to have a conversation with your companions. When the food arrived it came with a smile from a very happy face by the name of Louise, what a wonderful service from everyone involved in our experience today, it has certainly made up our minds to return very soon with friends & family, thank you ladies from Laid & Lady Crewe x

Excellent carvery - small portions available which was plenty.

Went here last week for our Grandsons 16th birthday ..we waited in the queue to get our meal ..we asked for beef and turkey ..but we didnt have any beef! The young man was trying his hardest to cut a scrawney piece of beef off the end of the joint...edged with fat on to our plate !!! That's what we ended up with!! ... and ...to rub our nose in it there was a .Large joint nxt to it ..we ast for some of that instead ..No chance ! We paid £12 like everyone else but had ..no customer service or help at all to satisfy us as to our enquiery abt why do we have a piece of fat !!!. Disgusting and Dissapointing Carvery wasn't all that anyway ..Never again .. The one star is for the lovely girls who helped to light the birthday cake ! Thanks girls x

The food was disgusting, steak was chewy like chewing a piece of gum mash potato was like a brick. Baked beans were brown. Food was cold when served

Absolutely disgusted with the take away meal, was stone cold, looked like my mum had all the leftovers, she threw it in the bin!!! When we told them, they said they could only refund half the money, terrible!!! Will not be using them again!!!!

I was dissatisfied this is the se old time I’ve ordered the first time I ordered turkey Carvery unfortunately I got veg but no veg . So this week I thought give it a go the beef was grisly and chewy. I live on my own I’m 74 and I have not been well , that’s why I’ve ordered Carvery it’s sad you can’t get what you order .

Food was just ok. Staff were indifferent not happy. We had to ask twice for the Aircon to be turned down as it was blowing the napkins off the table and making the food cold. The whole pub looked like it could do with a good clean it was not a pleasure to be there. We spent over £50 but will not be going back.

Great food and good quality, there is plenty of choice on vegetables and meats. The cakes are amazing, you have to buy some, éclairs is amazing and carrot cake is the best.

I love this place, I hope I had a lovely time with my friends yesterday evening and I had a small carvey with drink.

Ordered hunters chicken and says 2 chicken breasts but portion sizes are tiny. Just one cut in half. Very bad value for money…. Look elsewhere….

Been to Half Penny Farm three times now, great food, delicious desserts, cold drinks, nice atmosphere (if a little dark) & staff very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They even microwave your carvery if you ask them just to make sure it's red hot til the end!! Free birthday slice of cake if you sign up to website!! Win, win!!! 👍🏻🍰

Food was fantastic, plenty of meat, very tasty, roasties were delicious, veg was cooked to perfection, gareth was very cheerful, very friendly, great guy. Other customers however thought it was okay to undress a child right next to our table, guys, we don't want to see naked little humans at all, let alone when we are eating. The facility has numerous rest rooms located around, it's just wrong. Staff were friendly.

The food was delicious but I ordered a carvery with two meats. I wanted Turkey and Beef. Disappointed when delivered because it only contained Turkey and no Beef. Shame because the food was excellent, pity I didn't get the Beef as requested 😕.

We were sat right by the children’s playing area for a 70th birthday so it was quite noisy. Being offered an option would have been more appropriate given the average age of those in our party. That being said the carvery was nice. The other meals from the menu were tiny! And then the desserts were absolutely huge!!! Quite a mixed opinion of this place :) staff were very friendly though!

Loved the carvery, fish and chips and steak & ale pie. Little bit too much crumb on crumble. Tasty though. Ice cream flavours great! Will come again!

Carvery is absolutely top tier, nice chunky veg. Also the indoor and outdoor play areas are great for the kids.
