Always friendly staff, atmosphere great service and food excellent

Complete and utterly waste of time really bad service and uninterested staff

Food was horrible. My lasagne was cold, my brothers and fathers meals were cold also. My dad asked for a medium rare steak on the mixed grill, it came out like a lump of hard coal soaked in meat juices. He couldn't actually cut through it. My chips that came with the lasagne were freezing and the cutlery smelt and was dirty. We didn't have any interaction with the staff really, so I can't say much on that. I decided to give the dessert a chance, but the carrot cake was dry and had no flavour. Might have been better if the meals weren't microwaved into oblivion. I will be happy to try it again when I know the standards have risen and the food doesn't taste like someone has chewed it up for me.

Was not a great welcome sat us at table did not explain the process for santa n breakfast .I had to go back up and ask bar staff who Then explained. I asked for Soya or Iat milk to be told they don't have it and don't stock any in just normal or semi milk .which was no good for us so could not have a hot drink 😟both the kids didn't eat as no cereal or fruit which would of thought for Xmas n breakfast some option .the food was not particularly hot .the best part was meeting santa 🎅 he was lovely and so good .

Great food, lovely staff, very clean! Update We have been here so many times since my review but nothing beats today. Shout out to Jen. Jen noticed that my food was going cold while i was settling my daughter so she offered to put my food under the hot light until I was ready. She even said if it wasn't hot enough, I could get a refresher. After, I got my food back and started to tuck in, she came to check on me to make sure it was okay and see whether I needed a refresher!

Food was really delicious when I came with hubby will return again

Food was really nice and floor staff friendly but no check back done on our table. I was still eating my dinner when the waitress came and started cleaning our table because my husband had finished. Bar staff very rude as though it was too much trouble to serve us. Split my coffee and I asked for a clean cup and saucer all she did was sigh. Very unprofessional. Will NOT be returning.

Pretty poor breakfast, poor quality. Orange juice was like orange water, avocado and eggs was poor, toast was like a brick etc…

Fabulous carvery for three of us, 2 small and one standard size, meats melted in the mouth, good choice of vegetables and delicious apple crumble 1 with cream and 2 with custard. Jen our waitress was very friendly and deserves a special mention. Good choice of non-alcoholic beers. Plenty of parking spaces in a large car park with an easy digital car registration sign-in system on arrival. Went again early December with husband and Mom, had 2 small carvery and Gammon egg and chips. All were perfect. Maria our waitress was extremely helpful, attentive and friendly, and asset to the team.

We came today for a carvery and we hadn't booked. The FOH Lady still found us a table and we were seated just after we ordered our drinks. The carvery was delicious, beef was tender and turkey was moist. Veg was all cooked perfectly and onion gravy was delicious. No wonder it was so busy! What's not to like. We had a cake away too but still too full to try it...looking forward to the giant brownie. Great selection of ice cream is worth a mention.

Table looked nice we were a party of 10 and were trying to work out who was where and doing what. Went in about 5 mins late to find them about to chase us. Got very hurried instructions and we're left to it. When large parties are in have tables in square so people can talk, use staff to take orders rather than 5 at bar. Drinks were out of stock. Food came through in reverse order. Curry was inedible and refunded. My salad was just lettuce and raw onion in vinaigrette I wasn't offered. Garlic mushrooms are watery do not serve on crispy chicken. Tap water never arrived. Steak knife will not cut 6 tier birthday cake. Space limited. Radiator dangerously hot no guard .window painted shut. Then we were hurried out. Carpark time short too.

I had booked a Festive menu meal for six family members, like we did last year and the whole experience was wonderful. I had asked for a round table so that we could all chat together easily and the table was decorated in Christmas trimmings and crackers and other things. The food was lovely and tasty and the cake was enormous and very tasty, as was the Christmas pudding and ice cream sundae. The Lady who looked after us was called JEN and nothing was too much trouble for her and she made sure that we were all happy with the service offered. If you are looking for somewhere to take the family out or Friends I can thoroughly recommend this establishment for Quality of service and food and top Value, You won't be disappointed, in fact you will be very Impressed 👍

I can't ever say anything bad about this place I love to eat here and come many times during the year. Breakfast today was exceptional and Maria looked after us so well very friendly and helpful 👏🤩

Started perfect, lovely table all set up for us, then noticed the plates were filthy one had a big blob of chewed chewing gum on…tried to get two new plates, was asked if we had paid which we had payed the week before, then we asked Pam who was behind the counter to which she replied bring the dirty ones back and I’ll scrape them for you to reuse..to which I stated absolutely not! Could I please just have two small plates she actually threw a strop waving her arms about and made us feel awful!! Finally we got two clean plates which Pam was not at all happy about! I’m sure you are a restaurant and don’t own the plates Pam!!! So then I went to get a coffee my cup was again dirty really didn’t want to ask for a clean cup because Pam had already made us regret coming, but I did and was given one by a lovely lady behind the bar,Santa saved the day otherwise I’d of been asking for a full refund…maybe on special days like this Pam should be out the back as she clearly was crumbling under pressure! Thanks Pam for making this experience horrible

I really do love coming to Half Penny Farm with the family for a meal. The food is nice and it creates a lovely day out. I popped in for a cakeaway the other day and queued for 10 minutes, in a line which consisted of 3 people, only to find out the cake wasn't available. Bear in mind the cake wasn't available the last time I went in also but still advertised in the display window. It would have been easier if there was a sign in front of the display cakes to let people know if an item was not in stock. Also, there was a lovely gentleman running around, seeing to tables, bringing and clearing plates (he normally is sweet when we come in) who decided to jump on a till just as I was being served and see to a group who had to make a payment... so this group managed to skip the queue. I left empty handed, wasted 10 minutes of my time and feeling like the group were more important than the individual.

First time I came I came via roundabout tue petrol station entrance from Coventry me my friend and my 10th month old daughter thought got a play area will be nice for her ate she played we left 2 weeks later I get a carpark letter giving me a penalty notice for not paying at carpark there was no notice to say you had to pay or even give in Yr reg no even the staff didn't say so was fuming I paid tue £60 being a single mum I couldn't afford it but had to pay it when I looked on site it said had carpark but nothing about cost it spoiled the experience of lunch together with my friend with my daughter very upset and hope it doesn't happen to anyone else..

Nice food but cold ,but would have liked an option to add veg or not as it was such a shame ,how much went in the bin here. Good size portions. Thanks

Jen was very attentive helped me with ordering on the app very friendly & helpful I find the carvery quite hit & miss which is why i haven't given a 5 but was very much a hit today very nice apart from they seem to have stopped doing the nice roasties I think they were goose fat 1s, was a great selection of veg otherwise & my mom enjoyed her food from the main menu also the hunters chicken it looked really nice & was plenty of it so good value for money too. The restaurant is always clean & tidy.

We went to half penny farm Sunday for my sisters birthday, the food was terrible veg was rock hard meat was tasteless and so was the gravy, there service was terrible we had to wait 30 minuets for our vouchers for the carvery, then when it came to putting the we couldn't eat it as we had to wait for the table to be cleared and when we asked the lady to clear it she said she would go get someone and still had to wait, and she was very rude, we definitely won't be eating there again

I want to give the best of the reviews to this place. We’ve come several times with family and we’ve had a lovely time eating. Good food, good service; specially want to mention the help and assistance of Maria, she was so kind and helpful today. There is nothing better than having a good smile and good customer service in the morning. Early morning ambient is so calm and peaceful and if you want to eat the best carvery, this is the place!!! For the ones who are not into meat they’ve got free meat option. Thanks for the good service Maria and the Good Job. Keep it up 👍🏻

This is the second time we have been here first was for just normal pub food but this time decided to come for a carvery. Have to say lots of choice of meats and different veg. Big yorkshire pudding and really good for the price. Also ordered a kids meal and the burger came with cheese on which they happily changed for my son with no fuss. The service was good and even though they were busy there was staff around to help with you anything you needed. Would def go back again for a sunday roast.

I love ordering a roast on a weekend while at work yet today I received someone's order couldn't eat as I don't like hunters chicken.

Very friendly and professional staff. Raj a wonderful waitress went above and beyond to cater for my mother’s dietary requirements.

Order was originally due to arrive at 5.25pm. Didnt arrive till after 7pm. No updates from restaurant. It said courier was there waiting for an hour. Food was cold when it arrived. I have ordered from here previously with no problems.

Decent place, buffet breakfast was OK, the only thing that spoils this place is the "pay to park" or else you must spend money in the pub situation - why do places do this?

An OK Sunday dinner when you are on your own, an OAP & hungry... Plenty of vegetables - pigs in blankets & roast potatoes, tasted stale...

Been staying next door for work and been eating here most nights. One thing as someone who suffers from quite a few allergies is the staff actually ask when you're ordering if you have any allergies, so big points there. The food, well the carvery isn't bad, beef has been a bit fatty but tender and nice flavour, rest of the menu is good and the service is quick, the cake counter though ... wow Staff are fantastic.

Maria was our personal waiter, she was lovely and made us laugh, nothing was too much trouble. We asked to move tables as was a bit dark in the corner we were 1st sat at and she did straight away. Food was lovely. 9 of us was dining and most had a carvery. Puddings were also yummy. Been here loads of times and it's our go to place!

Amazing everytime we come above and beyond for the children and pleasant and helpful food hot and delicious queues kept to a minimum and girls on till very helpful
