Myself and my partner and daughter came to Hala Wala for some shawarma, We were greated extremely well and the staff were very friendly. The food was fantastic and tasted incredible. The lamb was to die for and the chicken taste great. Highly recommend.

Me and my class went there together when this place opened. Service 10, very nice to us. Best chicken ever. We all had the chicken wrap. It was very tasty and definitely not expensive. Me and my friends dream about this food, we are from germany and wish we have gotten more for the trip back

I am from Saudi Arabia, Jeddah, literally the most delicious shawarma I have ever tasted in my life. Delicious, fantastically delicious. I tried mixed chicken and meat, and I tried arayes with hummus. The food is not a mistake. There are many nationalities who love the restaurant and try the shawarma. I often pass by this place late in the evening, and Hala Wala has been my favourite late night takeaway. Their lamb wrap is an absolute must-try. The other day, the lovely employee at the cashier also gave me hummus on the house, and it’s honestly one of the best hummuses I’ve tried. Highly recommended!

Worst place, they gave me cartilage in the shawarma!!!! Took 1 hour for food to come, no where to sit, shortage of chairs - terrible terrible experience over all!! Place should be called HELL WALLAH!!

We went to try the vegan shawarma and it did not disappoint! The vegan shawarma was so so delicious with an unreal seasoning and all salad was fresh and tasty! Would highly recommend for veggie/vegans!! We had the wrap meal deal with chips and a drink (£14) and were really pleased with portions and value for money.

More like HELL Walla!! I visited this place with my family, a group of eight, after spending the morning at London Zoo. Based on a quick Google search, this seemed like a decent nearby option with reasonably good reviews. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst eating out experiences I’ve ever had. Poor Seating and Layout: The restaurant was poorly designed and lacked sufficient seating. The layout was chaotic and disorganised, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. It’s supposed to operate as a fast-food restaurant where you order from self-service machines, similar to McDonald’s, but it couldn’t have been further from that standard. A Frustrating Ordering Process: During my first attempt to order, I was informed at checkout that chicken shawarma was out of stock. I had to remove it from my order and switch to lamb instead. Then, on my second attempt, I was told that fries were also sold out. This forced me to adjust the meal deals yet again and settle for wraps without sides. Excessive Waiting Times and Overwhelmed Staff: After placing our order, we had to stand and wait far too long for the food. The restaurant had only two staff members working, and they both looked stressed and miserable. The atmosphere was tense, and customers’ frustration was evident. One woman even told me she had been waiting for an hour for her shawarma. At one point, the two staff members had a disagreement in full view of customers, which only added to the chaos and unprofessionalism. Cold Food and Missing Items: When our food finally arrived, it was an utter disappointment. The shawarmas were cold. Everyone in my group agreed. To make matters worse, my falafel was missing from the tray, and the bread served with the hummus was cold and hard. Serious Hygiene Concerns: While waiting, I noticed one staff member handling onions and salads with bare hands, which was unhygienic and revolting. No gloves were used, and it was clear that hygiene standards were not being met. Unacceptable Customer Service: The worst part came when my brother found a large piece of cartilage in his shawarma. He brought it to the staff’s attention, but instead of apologising, the response was rude and dismissive. The staff member offered to make him a new one, but my brother demanded a refund and left the restaurant, along with my sister. Too Little, Too Late: One staff member, Abeer, was apologetic and eventually offered us free fries as compensation. However, by that point, the damage had already been done. I was extremely upset and overwhelmed, especially since I had chosen this place for my family, and everyone left annoyed and disappointed. Final Thoughts: To the owner of this restaurant: This establishment is an absolute disaster. Your staff is overworked, unsupported, and struggling to cope with the workload. You should be ashamed of running such a poorly managed business. If you want to continue operating, I strongly suggest rebranding—and honestly, the name “Hell Wallah” would be more fitting. It’s shocking that the Food Standards Agency allows this place to operate in its current state. I wasted £55 here, not including parking fees, and left feeling embarrassed and regretful. Next time, I’ll go to KFC next door instead. Rating: 0/10 – Never again.

I work in Camden where there are loads of similar restaurants so I’m always trying different places, and for me, this place stands out. I got to know the chef and found out why; they make it fresh! It’s normal for these places to make the falafels fresh but at Hala Wala they also make their own hummus, tahini and chili sauce as well as piling up the chicken and lamb that make up their doner kebab. Don’t be fooled by the interior which makes it look like just another fast food place, nor the location where it’s surrounded by take-aways selling rubbish ready-made ingredients, Hala Wala is the real deal 😄

I stopped by after work yesterday, unplanned, as I was waiting for a friend and I'm glad I finally had the time. The food was great. I ordered a Hallomi Wrap w/ Piri Piri fries and Lentil Soup for lunch. The service was on time :) and space to sit. I'll definitely be ordering again I would highly recommend

I tried the chicken shawarma here which was very tasty and juicy. It's a very clean shop, they got some space for eating in so you can dine in as well. The store is very clean and the staff is very polite and professional. It was a very good experience overall. I am going to try the lamb loaded fries when I visit again. Definitely recommended.

Very kindly served by Asem, who went above and beyond to make sure I was catered for as a gluten-free customer. He gave me a custom order that merged what I wanted with another meal, and it worked out cheaper, too. Thank you to Asem, and Hala Wala - I will definitely be returning if I'm in the area!

Updated review: we gave them a second chance, and we were not disappointed! ....... I rarely would ever review places and give them 1 star. This place definitely deserves a 1 star. Good food but unfortunately spoilt by a rude member of staff. Music was blaring out loud like a nightclub. A simple request to turn it down was met by a rather rude response from the worker. He seemed to think that arguing with the customer about the need to keep the music at a deaf tone level was the best way to attract customers. He did not realise that he was driving existing customers away. Need to train workers on how to be hospitable...

Delicious food and amazing customer service from Gazi. The food was so good that I came back 2 days after with 5 of my friends. The previous time I had the vegan shawarma wrap and the next, the falafel box. One of the best places to get falafel. Especially as a vegan, he was very flexible to my preferences. The music is also a vibe! Definitely recommend!

We were on a budget of £5 for lunch, so we got a chicken strips wrap here for just £4.50. You also had a hummus wrap for £3.50. It was very tasty and good value so that's why 5 stars.

Vegetarian shawarma just incredible, my husband had the classic and both were really excellent. Didn't have time to taste everything but we will come back. And above all the prices... clearly there are restaurants all along but it's their reasonable prices that pushed us to go to them. Go there with your eyes closed, it's a treat

I stopped here with my kids as they were hungry. While we waiting for our food, a homeless man came in and begged us for money. Sadly, I had no cash on me. One of the men preparing the food behind the counter beckoned the homeless man in and offered to make him a falafel wrap (at no cost of course). The homeless man thanked him and waited outside for the food. The man made him the wrap, came out and gave it to him together with a handshake and some nice words. I was so happy to see such kindness and also so happy my sons got to witness love in action. Five stars all round.

Me and my friend visited yesterday to grab a donner and OMG, as soon as we bit into the wraps we were transported somewhere magical. These were the tastiest and juisiest donners we've ever had. The garlic sause complementes the meats and pickles soo well! Will have to comback to try the rice dishes and salads + falafel and humous! Place is big, clean and service was fast and friendly.

Took my wife here and the food was borderline inedible. The shawarma was too salty, filled with cardamom and a sauce that was just bad. The chips tasted old and the burger was an average burger. Very bad overall.
