**A Delightful Chinese Culinary Experience** I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hakka Moon during my visit in London, and it was a truly memorable experience. The restaurant offers an authentic Chinese cuisine that delivers both in flavor and presentation. One dish that truly stood out was the 麻辣手絲雞 (Spicy Shredded Chicken). The balance of spice and texture was remarkable, with every bite offering a burst of flavor that was both bold and satisfying. Another highlight was the 薑汁唐芥蘭 (Ginger Sauce Gai Lan). The freshness of the Gai Lan paired with the fragrant ginger sauce was a perfect combination. We were seated out the back area of the restaurant with no natural light and loud blowing cold air fan. We decided to up and leave so we can't comment on the food.

Not too sure what is the food or service like.. it says open but when we walked there, it was closed

The first time I came here for dinner, it was called pickled fish. However, the soup base of the pork belly with roasted pepper was very delicious. It was different from the noodles sold in the city center, which only had spicy and spicy soup base. The salted egg chicken wings are not too salty. I like the amount of salted egg and not too thick. The boss is so polite and polite, and he keeps refilling the water and tea👍 Although I don’t have a BB, I was surprised and considerate to see the new toilet paper changing rack in the women’s restroom. The place is a little far away, but it is a residential area and considered safe. There are paid parking spaces nearby🚙

I took 2 friends to Hakka Moon, we all had a delicious meal, salt & pepper ribs & shredded duck for starters certainly got the taste buds going & our main courses certainly didnt disappoint. The service was excellent & I highly recommend this lovely, friendly restaurant. I've also had take aways on a couple of occasions & the standard of the food was just as high.

Great food though not exactly Hakka, the fish and chicken wing are very nice

Ordered a takeaway on uber eats after reading a the good reviews. Sadly my experience was bland and inedible food. The char kway teow & prawn toast were greasy and tasteless. Vegetarian hot & sour soup only tasted of white pepper & I couldn't eat it. Such a disappointment.

Finding authentic Chinese food is incredibly difficult. This is a wonderful restaurant, friendly staff and a chef that is incredibly talented. We loved our meal, highlights the aubergine, lobster and octopus. I will be dreaming about this meal for a good while. Superb, so if your in the area this has to be a stop

Nice restaurant, very yummy & authentic food at extremely reasonable prices. 2 of us had 5 dishes & drinks for around £25 each. Love the complimentary prawn crackers too. And the staff is very welcoming, highly recommended.

Money worthy. Tastes just like what you may get in HongKong which means something in London. Out of menu dishes, like roasted duck, available for pre-order.

HakkaMoon, delicious with many options to choose from! 😋 The staff said that the pepper pork belly soup that usually requires reservations is available today, great, let's try it, one portion is already a large bowl, even two people can share. Black bean paste fried beef is the most popular among us, the other dishes are also very good, with large portions, 5 people ate very full and couldn't finish all. #KissKidsFamily

Wow, what a gem of a place! I'm sitting in the restaurant and haven't even finished my food yet, but HAVE to take time to review this lovely place. It's an intimate space, very clean with a great atmosphere. The food is unbelievable. We ordered Salt and pepper wings, vermicelli noodles, sweet and sour prawns, and finally hot and sour soup. I CAN not tell you which was my favourite dish because they're all so yummy. I am certainly coming again 🙂

Parking space was near. Small restaurant but tastes good. Laksa was spicy. Chicken feet and Hand-Shredded Chicken must order.

As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted with this atmosphere that fills you with a very joyous feeling. The waitress is very humble and always happy to serve us with our food based on particular requirements which was a very nice touch as some others I have been to failed to live up to standard. The quality of food was superb and nice portions too. Would definitely recommend. Enjoy!

The food is delicious but the portions are too thin

Been here three times and loved almost all the dishes that I have tried. Fish in pickle cabbage broth and lamb brisket with beancurd sheets are always amazing. We ordered a steamed turbot last time and it was perfectly cooked. This is now my go-to pan asian restaurant locally!

Friendly service…. Some dishes had authentic Malaysian flavours . 5 adults and 2 kids had an awesome meal with reasonable prices

Decent take away and nice looking restaurant. Bit sceptical about 'pan Asian' places but glad we gave it a go. The sides were a bit bland - not enough salt/pepper on the salt& pepper dishes, and veggie sides & sauces didn't have much flavour. But black bean and kung pao main dishes were great. Decent range of vegetarian dishes too.

I've ordered takeaway from here a couple of times - I can't speak to the meaty options but everything in the vegetarian platter is delicious

Small Restaurant with good atmosphere of decoration. Excellent customer service. The dishes we ordered came with nice chosen bowls and plates decoration. Not so big portion but good quality food. But we finish all the foods with full stomach when we leave.

My take away food today, kings prawns chow mein-dry without prawns.

what a hidden slightly out the way gem! if you want authentic Malaysian this is the place to go. prices are reasonable, portions could be a touch bigger but all dishes were legit. highly recommend the salty egg chicken wings and the roti (ordered 3 to myself) 😅 if the owners are reading, please add teh tarik to the menu!!!

A great new place we found fantastic food

I think this place may become our new local as we've just eaten here 2 nights in a row. We loved the Hakka Braised Pork and Stir Fried Okra on the first evening. On the second evening, the Singapore Laksa, Char Kway Teow and Salt & Pepper Squid really hit the spot. I'm sure we'll be back soon to continue working our way around the menu.

Lovely restaurant with a wide variety of dishes from various Chinese cuisines. Everything from the dishes to the desserts were fabulous. We ordered a pig stomach soup for the 4 of us and there was a mistake on the bill-overcharging us, but we hadn't realised. The restaurant made its way to call us the next day and immediately refunded us the difference. Extremely hospitable, highly recommended

Because of the reviews we went there have a lunch, but all of us quite disappointed that, la sa noodles was not good… fry noodles over cooked!! Parking is not convenient.

I was passing through Mitcham and stopped off for a bite to eat by myself. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and the price was very reasonable. Will have to make a journey to try out the rest of their menu.

I’m Chinese, all I want to say is I love this salted egg chicken wing, fantastic experience. So damn good. The salted egg yolk chicken wings are delicious and affordable. I hope the store’s business will be prosperous.

This is easily the best classical HK / Cantonese restaurant and takeaway for miles around. Trust me, I spent my youth working in one. It's in the simple things like the fact that you can tell they use fresh oil in all their dishes. They use good ingredients and don't try to mask bad ingredients with soy sauce or MSG - don't get me wrong they must use both but they clearly know how to use them appropriately. In short, these guys are professionals. To be honest I don't even really like Chinese food. I'd rather have a pizza, but every now and again I fancy a bit of nostalgia, and here is where I'd go. Hard recommendation. This place is a local gem!!! Oh, they do Pan Asian food too, but I haven't tried any of those dishes.

This was one of the worst takeaways I’ve had in years. I’m convinced they must have paid for some of these other reviews. The sweet potato dish was not cooked properly and bland. The fried dishes - aubergine and chicken tasted like the oil had not been changed since they opened and there was an off smell from the chicken which seemed old and had lots of gristle.The roti canai was a joke, coated in oil with a weak dip for 4.50. I feel like I have a duty to warn people about this awful scam of a place.

If you're sick of beans on toast I'd definitely recommend coming here and trying their food! If you're missing Malaysia a lil too much then you'll be happy to know that they have an extensive menu that covers almost everything Chinese 🤤🤤🤤 200/10 would Hakka moon again and again ❣️

Authentic Chinese food (we are Chinese! and no we do not know the owner), lovely service, prices reasonable. If chefs know how to please a Chinese palate, it means that they are doing something very right. It's not what you would expect to find near Mitcham. A radical departure from the typical Chinglish take away food. The food was cooked delicately and the flavours were akin to the food found in Chinatown. This place has the makings of becoming a new "favourite"! Come on, support your local shops!

Beyond expectation delicious Chinese food. They were not fancy dishes, but ordinary and tasty.

Absolutely love this place. Every single time we go there, we order the garlic ribs which is a revelation, we keep wanting more. The boiled fish with pickle cabbage is a must, it is very spicy but so ideal for winter. I absolutely adore their Wan Tan Hor (flat noodles in a seafood egg gravy). We have also tried their nasi goreng, toffee apple, etc. This restaurant is definitely good with every oriental dishes they have on their menu

Great family spot with incredible food. A local secret

Never knew this place existed despite driving past it 20-30 times. You'd usually find places like this is Tooting or Balham, so nice to find somewhere local. We went on a Friday evening and the place was heaving which is a good sign. The food items are a selection of Chinese and Malaysian food dishes. Salt & pepper squid: 4/5 Wasabi prawns: 3/5 - needed more wasabi Char Kway Teow (without sausage): 4/5 Malaysian Curry Chicken (with bone): 4/5

Just moved in nearby and already been twice, great food and the waitress is really friendly and helpful.

A very nice place with delicious cusine. We all enjoyed the meal in this elegant restaurant. It is neat and tidy including the toilet. After lunch, we also strolled to the bus stop through the Gorringe Park. This is a peaceful and relaxing park.

Lovely decorated small restaurant, warm atmosphere. Nice staff with excellent services and knowledgeable to her dishes. All dishes we ordered are good taste at reasonable charges. Six of us enjoyed great time. Will definitely come again. Highly recommended.

This is my first visit to Hakka Moon. The restaurant has a beautiful environment, friendly staff and delicious food. Especially Hakka Style Braised Pork Belly & Lamb Brisket with Beancurd Sheet, let me miss the taste of home. The dinning experience was excellent. I am looking forward to my next visit. Had dinner here with 8 people on a Sunday, we’re of Hakka descent so was keen to try it. We ordered a quite a number of dishes, in general the food was excellent in general and the flavours were on point. Maybe 4 of the meat/fish stir fry dishes did have the same onions and peppers so would have been nice to have a mix of veg.

Food is good and good service. Just a bit overpriced/expensive to be honest.

Unexpected gem at Mitcham end of Streatham Road! Clean, modern interior and fantastic tasting food in generous sized helpings - believe me my husband likes his food and he was completely satisfied. Will definitely return.

Just realised I haven’t rated this place after being there for so many times. This is absolutely my favorite Chinese restaurant in Southwest London. You can find very authentic Cantonese dishes and everything is so delicious. It is not fine dining, not street food, not your typical Chinese takeaway food but comfy home cooking. I would put it this way - I do not like chicken dishes but I always order a chicken dish when I eat in. That says something, right? Just one tip - if you can’t eat spicy food, do make sure that you let the chef know as some of the dishes can be really hot! Oh, and it’s better to go for lunch, as I always end up eating too much…

One of the best Cantonese restaurant in London.

Delicious food and great service, and very well priced, plus it's nicely decorated too. The Kung po prawns were my personal favourite. We went for a birthday dinner and they were kind enough to bring out a complementary dessert with a candle, which was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend and will definitely be going again.

Fabulous takeaway tonight !!! The guy on the phone was just lovely !!! ..... He asked if I wanted my duck as is or shredded. I went for the latter. I was tired and hungry tonight and wanted something quick and tasty. The HakkaMoon delivered on both counts !!! I only found this place by chance as I googled restaurants in the local area and was amazed by the five star reviews (which are spot on and we'll deserved). I asked the guy how long they had been open as I drive past twice a day going back and forth to work and hadn't even noticed it !!! Maybe once the building work next door is removed, the council relocate the signage to the left and maybe a brighter light outside will make the restaurant more visible to passing trade. One of the nicest Chinese restaurants in this area. The owner was a long time staff from Goldmine in Bayswater (which was really nice). Dishes are well priced and always tasty. The Malaysian dishes are good and about as authentic as you will be south West London.

Fantastic Central London / Bayswater standard but locally without having to travel out. Food was 10/10, service attentive and the place was very clean. Literally better than a lot of the Chinatown or Bayswater restaurants with dishes you can sometimes only find at certain restaurants...brings memories of dining in HK and China.

Went here for my friends birthday celebration. The place is on the other side of London for me, so it was a little bit of a journey. Still it is situated in a residential area with free parking after 6:30pm. The food was excellent as attested by other reviewers. The decor is very different to everything in the area as most food serving places are takeaways. It does do takeaway, but it was great having a sit down with a few friends. Would recommend for sure.
