Grounded Kitchen in Gateshead

Visited today and ended up placing two orders, the wraps are my favourite thing on the menu. Kirk and Will served me and they were both lovely. Will definitely be coming back!

I was served by Will and Kirk, they were both so helpful and the food was delicious. The smoothie bowls are to die for!

Visted today for the first time as my Mam who's 75 wanted to try a bao bun for the first time 😀 ! We got 2 egg and beef breakfast buns and coffee - buns were delicious - friendly smiling staff and good value. Will definitely come back

Great food and calm atmosphere. Alisha is a lovely server and greeted us with a kind and friendly demeanour. Food is great but the service is what makes you want to come back again.

Such a friendly atmosphere from the moment my toddler and I walked in. Food was lovely and Faith was so attentive the whole time we were there, my son absolutely loved her. Thank you for making things that bit easier for me!

Lovely food but extremely expensive. Got 2 bao buns and a drink. Just under 15 pound. Buns were tiny and not much filling. Shame as food was nice it's not value for money in my opinion.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely meal including boa buns, chicken noodles and wings. The food was good but it was the service that made the meal. Our server was Kirk who was great even boxing up what we couldn't eat to take home. All with a smile on his face. Great early evening tea. We will be back

Absolutely delicious prawn curry in the large portion size. I recommend sizing up to a large portion size if you have a good appetite or would like to share with a friend. The flavours are just gorgeous and there is generous amount of seasoning and sauces and tastes great !

Dropped by today for a quick lunch as my partner and I like Korean food but have to say this was possibly the worst place we’ve been for food in a long time! Nothing was freshly made, I had the bangbang chicken bowl and the wings were sloppy and the potato’s were as good as tinned! My partner had a wrap and it had obviously been made some time before to the point that the foil was welded to the wrap! Didn’t finish and won’t be coming again .

The food has nothing to do with the photo on the menu. Quite poor quality, little flavor. Small portions. I chose the non-spicy chicken Baos but they came spicy.

While waiting for a suit to be altered, we went for an early dinner. So many options, but didnt want to do a large chain. We then saw Grounded Kitchen and loved their options and they seemed well priced. Staff were super friendly too and the place was very clean and tidy. I had the udon noodle bowl with chicken and my wife had a the Ramon noodles with chicken, with a bao bun to try. The food was served really quickly, super easy to do. We both really enjoyed the food and would not hesitate in returning. Next time, instead of going to a Wagamama, or Five guys and taking out a small mortgage, try this place. Sure you wont regret it.

Perfect spot for lunch. Had a delicious gochujang chicken rice bowl. Kate was so lovely and friendly and welcomed us in. Would recommend for a filling, tasty lunch.

I had the pleasure of being served by Sophie today, what an amazing person. Full of energy, super helpful with the menu and a lovely lovely lady. The food is up there with some of the most delicious I’ve tasted! But the best bit is customer service at this place is second to none! 100% I’ll be back!

I couldn’t recommend a place higher for really healthy delicious food. The staff at Grounded Kitchen Metrocentre are top draw, very friendly, kind and chatty. Big thank you to Jan & Alisha for always looking after me. The food is super fresh and tasty.

My go-to, absolute favourite place to eat at the metro. You can order through a QR, so ordering is easy and quick. Food always arrives fast and when it does, I'm never let down. Great portions and flavour. The chicken wings melt off the bone. There's plenty of spicy options and tofu for veggies.

Came in for a takeaway after a bad day at work. I’m definitely coming back I had amazing service delivered to me by Jan and Sophie H ( I had to ask for their names!!) great conversation and the food was delicious ( I asked for a few changes a couple of times I’m a picky eater 😂) honestly lovely place and great atmosphere. I had the sizzling prawns udon and it was really good!! Not too spicy yet very flavourful. I must also mention the amazing service here. We received our food well in time and the lady was absolutely sweet! Sophie H was the one who served us and she couldn’t be sweeter and attentive! We hope to visit sometime soon, see Sophie again and try ramen maybe cause that looked really good!

When we arrived, the table was dirty, but the staff member quickly cleaned it when we asked and was apologetic, which we appreciated, as we understood people had just left. We ordered our food, and while it arrived promptly, it wasn’t hot. My partner returned her meal, but as I was very hungry, I ate mine despite it being lukewarm. We also ordered wings, but by the time I was almost done with my meal, they had become stone cold and were no longer enjoyable. Although I hate complaining, I asked for the wings to be reheated. They were returned to the table without an apology or any acknowledgment, which I found quite frustrating and unprofessional. Overall, I was disappointed with the customer service. If you’re working in hospitality, dealing with customers courteously is essential. Food should arrive hot, especially when you’re paying £35—it’s a basic expectation. While the food itself was tasty, the lack of attention to temperature and service soured the experience.

I eat here quite a lot on my lunch and I get the best customer service ever. Never once had a sing complaint about my food. Best in the metro!

This restaurant isn't really catered to ethnic Asians groups of people. I would not recommend this place to my relatives. At the time we visited this restaurant the staff told us that they ran out chicken and beef. I am disappointed that the tofu curry noodles because the tofu pieces is cold and the pok choi is raw. The dumpings is not crispy, only redeemable items on the menu is the variety of delicious latte, tempura prawns and desserts.

Grounded Kitchen in Gateshead was excellent yet again. I’d eat the chicken ramen bowl daily if I could. The staff: Alisha, Faith, Sophie H, Sophie P, and Jess are all top notch, and their service is the main reason we keep coming back!

We decided to try grounded kitchen because we wanted somewhere healthy to eat in metro centre. The reviews looked really good as did the food. We bought two main rice dishes, a side of dumplings and two smoothies and with a blue light discount paid about 37 pounds. The food was absolutely beautiful and a service was fantastic. From ordering to having the food in front of us didn't even take 10 minutes. Highly recommended.

Went back today for the 1687366th time and was served by the dream team Sophie H and Alisha. I haven’t got a bad word to say about the place. The staff always remember me and are so friendly; I always bring friends along. 10/10, can’t recommend enough. Photo attached of Angus beef rice bowl with raw cacao iced latte (elite combo).

Freshly prepared healthy Korean food. They take allergens seriously. The service was excellent, the server was very friendly. It's the perfect place to try if you like spicy food.

Would not recommend ordering food take away from that place, especially ramen. The ramen comes plain. I have ordered the ramen and came without any broth, really plain taste. I could not get in touch with them regarding the issue. The just eat mentioned it is just the original recipe. So if you order ramen probably you will just get plain noodles. The pistachio Frappuccino is only ok if you have it in the place , but I would not recommend it ordering take away. The response of the restaurant regarding this issue was disappointing.

Food not worth the price, dirty tables and walls, food on the menus, didn’t get given cutlery when asked for it, ordered a drink which staff forgot to give us which we asked about and a male member of staff was really rude and told us that we were meant to get the drink ourselves from the fridge even though the drink was one which they made up themselves. After telling him this a few times he had to ask another colleague for help which she told us that it had been made but he had forgotten to given us it.

Absolutely delicious and nutritious

Freshly made, well portioned, and incredibly tasty. Ordering was made simple by scanning the QR code on the table, and arrived minutes after making payment. Staff were very happy to help, Alisha especially so. She helped with any and all questions I had. Will happily return again!

When I was there last, members of staff were vaping the table next to me while me and my 4 year old were eating... this is an indoor venue. When I raised this I did not get an apology.

I casually come here at least once a month. My problem at my last visit is that the ratio of rice/nourishment products. Now 2/3 of the bowl is filled with rice and thin layer of other stuff sprinkled over it. When it first opened it was amazing rice would be 1/3 tops and 2/3 would be everything else. I m sad to see it. Now need to find a new location.

Very overpriced for a tiny portion of below average food. I will give props to the chef for being able to slice the beef so thin, must have been 10g in total. The bang bang wings had no bang bang, just soggy wings from an adolescent chicken. More like North Korean food!

This eatery is very very good. If you are looking for a hoody of good flavours then you will not be disappointed. My wife is a massive fan of the Gochujang, so much so that I now make it myself however we still come here too as the service is excellent and prices reasonable. Join the queue for the awful chain sushi and ramen places like a sheep or be a GOAT and eat here instead. Personally a recommendation from me.

Grounded Kitchen at the Metrocentre is great for a healthy Korean meal with friends! Their bowls, like the Bao Buns, are delicious and fresh. Plus, their drinks like the Mango Glow are perfect for a weekend outing.

We had bibimbap which had nothing in common with an actual Korean bibimbap. Kimchi was again not kimchi but a soggy vinegary sauerkraut. I don't understand how they can call themselves Korean restaurant. Howerer the Staff was nice and friendly.

Well overpriced, mediocre food (small portions and kimchi nearly not existent in ramen, few scraps (20grams top) of way overcooked beef. Reheated chicken wings. Not for the real fans of Korean food. Disgusting toilet. Avoid if possible. You can find way better and cheaper places

Next level, been 4 times now to try a bit of everything and it’s gets better each time. There are some awful places to eat in the metrocentre this is an absolute hidden gem, healthy, delicious, great value and great portion sizes

Great alternative to wagamamas and not as packed, staff were friendly and bubbly. Served fast and ordered from qr code on the table

We had to change tables twice due to them being covered in sticky residue, eventually found one that was less offensive that the others and settled down there. Rice burnt, ramen overcooked, tofu burnt, chicken burnt. The only thing that wasn't burnt was the mango smoothie. Service was that of a fast food restaurant, scan a QR code and get handed your food. Food was overpriced for what it was, you can get 10x better Korean food in Newcastle for half the price. Multiple posters around the restaurant with "Soul of Korea" plastered across the front even though the posters were that of towns in Vietnam. Definitely won't be going back, and would recommend others going to different Asian restaurants inside the Metrocentre.

In all my life Never have I had food what tasted so bad. The pricing for 2 pots of noodles is unnecessary. Imagine paying £35 for noodles what taste absolutely horrid. (Wings were nice) I wouldn’t recommend this overpriced and disgusting food.

Really pretty decor and good selection of food but that's about it for positives. It was very expensive for what you got and checking the online menu, many items were missing such as the bao. The online menu also charged extra and was very confusing to navigate such as not showing the vegetarian items like the paper menu does, do we decided to order at the counter. I did notice that the place seemed dirty as mentioned by someone else. I'm not sure I'd go back as I've had better nourish bowls from other places that weren't so pricy.

Amazing flavours, fast and fresh. The spices were on point, they have a kids menu too so don't be shy to take them. Only issue for me, it's in the Metro Centre...
