It's a nice cafe but the coffee is very bland and doesn't taste of much. Not enough reason to visit over one of the main coffee chains. Service could be improved too.

Favourite coffee shop in Newry. The coffees and hot chocolates are unreal. Staff are very friendly. I love the atmosphere. It's always the go to spot to hang out with my mates.

Any coffee shop that has late opening hours is a winner in my book - there's not enough of them! We stopped in on a Sunday evening passing through Newry. Coffee was amazing. We didn't have cakes, but they looked yum! Worth stopping off whether in Newry or looking to pull in off the motorway for a break.

Lovely coffee and breakfast spot! We stopped in on our way from Dublin to Belfast and enjoyed an absolutely delicious ham and cheese croissant. The coffee was also great! Excellent service, charming atmosphere.

A great place for top quality coffee and food, right in the centre of Newry.

I called in this morning on the way to Dublin airport. The young man who served me was so pleasant and polite. I ordered a takeaway americano. It was good and not too expensive. I commented how welcoming he was. He replied 'It's easier to be nice!' How true.

Fast efficient and great coffee

Served by a friendly member of staff. Asked for a food recommendation and was advised to have a prawn burrito, which didn't disappoint. Americano was also great-tasting. Clean facilities and the cafe felt neither too spacious or too cozy. I can see why Grounded is so popular. Will definitely be visiting again.

My favorite coffee shop on Newry! Great spot for studying, or observing people through big windows🤪 coffee always racy and aromatic, desserts also fresh and tasty, to go or in - perfect service. Guys baristas are also great there, having their own vibe.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The latte, was one of the better ones I have recently drunk. It had the right amount of coffee to make it a very pleasant drink. The blueberry was fresh, tasty and the blueberries were sweet and succulent. One of the finds of the year for me. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Wanted a quick grab and go Espresso before catching a bus Sunday morning. Burnt to the point of being undrinkable. Wish I had a glass of water now. Might go some way to explaining why everyone else seemed to be buying caramel lattes.

Recently enjoyed a lovely cappuccino from here. It was really lovely and the tray bakes are to die for. Recommend this place as it is cosy and welcoming.

Basic Barista Training for staff needed! If staff doesnt know the difference between latte and cappuccino.. And trying to argue with you that they are the same thing... really?! Very disappointed with drink quality (ordered cappuccino.. thats what I was served) and customer service!

Fantastic coffee accompanied by fantastic staff. Always excellent hasty service without jeprodising quality. If you want to grab a quick, realllyyy good coffee with a bit of good craic thrown in then this is a good spot to go! If you enjoy an americano 10/10 recommend!

Pros - open late Cons - coffee is pretty bad, I would put it on par with McDonald's. Which is such a shame when Finegan&Son is the same owner and does really good coffee - needs a refurb, very worn/ragged inside and hasn't changed at all since it opened

I must say I love grounded for there amazing coffee but to say I'm disappointed is an understatement no mask wearing from the staff plus not one door open to ventilate the place which is recommended plus the icing on the cake for me was one customer actually sitting in while 2 other men stood in the window drinking there coffee while having a conversation grounded there are so many other coffee shops to go to yous need to open them doors get your masks on even though yous dont look glamorous were all wearing them no one actually cares what anyone looks like any more do the right thing we all need to do your bit untill I see this I won't be back

Fast and friendly service. Ordered a mocha and was not disappointed. The barista made it quickly without compromising taste. Additionally I ordered some sort of rocky road smores bar--SO GOOD. Highly recommend!

Food was ok, not enough variety. Place was pretty dirty and could do with a good clean both tables and floor. Staff are very friendly.

Four of us were in the nearby Canal Court hotel for our Sunday lunch when coffee was suggested. I thought it sensible to go next door to Grounded as I’d remembered that their coffee is ace and certainly well ahead of this hotel in quality but certainly not price. It has to be many years since I last had a coffee here, as I prefer other places that don’t open on Sunday. I also identify its main customer base as the younger generation. I was surprised to find it almost empty on an early Sunday afternoon when my memory was that it was usually well full. It’s not a big place by any means and currently operates a one way system - one door in and a different door exiting. They are also only serving coffees etc in paper/plastic cups (even Starbucks have locked away the ceramics.) We had three coffees (cappuccino) and an iced drink. The coffees were ace and the service friendly. Our son wasn’t impressed by his iced drink - he thought it insipid and watery. The piped music was great, but I must say I found the seating uncomfortable and the furnishings were as jaded as I now feel most days. Next time I want a Sunday afternoon coffee and I’m right next door I’ll likely pop in but I’m afraid I do prefer a comfy seat

Called in for a relaxing coffee but ended up choosing hot chocolate with marsh mallows and fresh cream followed by chocolate brownie and ice cream. Absolutely delicious. Well worth a visit

Been here a few late evenings. Grabbed a nice coffee and a tray bake. Pity everything is so fancy and sweet. A diabetic nightmare. No hot food late in the evening I think. But it is open late and is the in place for student types and wannabe cool people. So I recommend it and it is clean and friendly.

Need to improve customer service here - Visited here to meet a friend on Wed evening 8/1/20. Place was busy but not packed. Waited for 15 mins with no service. Had to go up to front counter and ask if someone would take my order. Young girl busy on her mobile said she would get me sorted "even though I am on my break" she said, and would take my order . Then a young lad came down (didnt realise he was staff as he was talking to someone for the 15mins I was waiting), and took my cajun chicken sandwich order. My latte arrived quickly. Another 15 mins later my sandwich arrived. So thats 30 mins + to get a sandwich. Food was ok. Barry - get better more attentive staff please. The staff there that evening were poor for sure in their attentiveness to customers. ☹

I ordered pancakes and an iced latte with gingerbread syrup. The pancakes were brilliant and when I asked for more syrup in my latte a staff member sorted it right away.
