Grounded Corsham in Wiltshire

The staff are unfriendly the menu was limited so had chips 45 mins later arrived on a small plate on a serviette no cutlery or condiments all I can say food awful OK for a coffee but that's it do not recommend.

My partner has been a strict vegan for over 35 years. I specifically asked for a vegan sausage sandwich and made sure I asked for vegan spread just in case they didn't figure this one out for themselves..I had a sausage and egg sandwich..The waitress gave us our food, and said 'this one is the vegan one'It was only after my partner took a bite and swallowed a bit that she realised that it was meat!!We asked if this was meat or not... 'oh sorry we had a mix up, ill get you a vegan sandwich' really isn't good enough!!..This made her physically sick!!35 years!!It really isn't much to ask in this day and age to understand and respect someone's dietary requirements if you work in a restaurant.. the lack of care or interest disgusted me..not a word from the manager apart from a 'thank you' as we left..We will NEVER return again..

We only called in for a drink and the two flat whites were excellent served very hot as we asked by a friendly polite young man. Loved the building and the fact that some parts of the old Chapel had been preserved.

It doesn't seem to matter which of the many members of staff are working, who ever it is they are slower than snales.Wait for ages before we even get asked what we want, then just as long again before the drinks arrive. Unfortunately this is the only main cafe in Corsham, please someone open another decent cafe to create competition.

I and my group of friends found this place randomly on a Saturday at 4pm. We had pizzas 50% off and we totally recomend it, delicious food! Also, the lady serving Corrine was really lovely and super nice! Will denitely come back.

We went to Grounded for my mother’s 92nd birthday and told the member of staff who took the booking that we needed to eat early . We arrived and 7.00 pm , had our order taken at 7.30 pm and finally got our food at 8.30 pm .by which time it was really too late for my mother and her friend to eat . When I complained at the end of the evening I was told that they were busy with three other customers and as they were only a cafe an hour wasn’t long to wait for a meal . I was refused any kind of discount or contact details to complain to the manager . The experience was quite frankly rude and appalling and the toilets filthy.

Went with family to grab some food but most of the food was sold out so only burgers basically. Toilets are a mess. Don’t flush, no toilet roll, messy inside every toilet and doors don’t lock. So after this experience we walked straight out

Went into Grounded with four friends, expecting a reasonable meal. Firstly, all the meals arrived twenty minutes between each one, even though they were ordered at the same time. One of us ordered the 'smoked salmon and poached eggs' which came out looking like bacon, obviously gone off and not edible. Was offered another meal which then took a further twenty minutes to arrive. Overall not the best experience and won't be visiting again.

Staff were nice enough but unfortunately the whole experience was marred by the food and drinks, which unfortunately are key components for a restaurant. My Diet Coke definitely wasn’t, despite it being swapped when I took it back. My beef burger came as a chicken burger, and the lady offered to swap it but as I’d already waited 25 minutes I just ate it.Thankfully it didn’t cost much thanks to EOTHO. Cakes were good apparently.

Excellent, decent pizza and burgers served in a beautiful converted chapel. Added bonus points for being one of the few places to bother opening on a Sunday.

Food was ok, nice building. And gluten free sandwiches a plus. But lost the will to live after waiting 45 minutes for 2 panini. No offer of any salt or condiments with the chips, had to ask for these. Won’t be coming back

In accordance with the current COVID guidance my wife and I entered the building used the sanitiser and waited to be directed to a seat by the waitress/server, it was a long wait. We ordered and paid for one Latte and one Tea, twenty minutes later we asked for a update on the Latte and Tea and were ignored with no attempt to engage or offer any words of support. In sum, very poor customer service. I will not be going back, you can keep the money, please it invest it by improving your customer service

Four of us came to lunch with our dogs. My husband and I usually get the breakfasts, which are faultless, but this time I fancied something different. I ordered the nachos - big mistake. £8 for a tiny portion, and I mean tiny! It didn't come with guacamole and jalapeno's so it was sent back, only for it to come back out with just the guacamole. All of a sudden the waitress was nowhere to be seen for me to send this back AGAIN so just got on and ate it as I was starving - it definitely was not worth the £8 paid! My friend ordered the halloumi and poached egg on toast. One dry egg and barely any halloumi! The breakfast ordered was great, the only decent meal of the lot. We also ordered dirty fries which was again, tiny! This place has gone downhill drastically and will reconsider returning. If you do go, order the breakfasts as these are the only item which are consistently good.

Haven’t been for a while but won’t be going back. Was served cold raw food which I sent back only for it come back raw again. The young waiter refunded me immediately and was extremely polite ... pity his chef can’t cook ! Place has been in decline for a few years now.

This was our first meal as a group for our new year break. The food was really average and disappointing, particularly as we had ordered in advance

Epic by name and epic by nature, the breakfast really did live up to it's title.Not bad value by today's standards and was definitely more than enough for a big eater such as myself! Would definitely recommend if you're in the Corsham area and you fancy a bit of a challenge!The price of the breakfasts (especially by the time you add a hot drink) and the fact that my girlfriend's poached eggs weren't runny at all, are the two things stopping this receiving a 5 star review. If my breakfast wasn't so nice the disappointing poached eggs would've probably warranted a lower score. Overall though and taking into account the other times I've visited, it deserves a solid 4.

The café is in a converted Chapel built in 1790. The people are very friendly, the hot chocolate with amaretto is warming and scrumptious, and the food is delicious and not very expensive. Food choices – including vegan and vegetarian options – range from poached eggs on toast, full breakfast, paninis, soup, lasagne, salad and burgers. We didn't have long to wait before our food was brought out - a full breakfast and two paninis for the three of us - and we finished every crumb!

i dont know how this place is still open, half the items are always out of stock, the service is not great and neither is the food!

What can I say. It's an absolute disgrace. A busy day in the calendar year and one person on. There's a big queue and people all around getting cross. This is not a way to run a business. No management or leadership in sight

Very unprofessional staff that paid no attention to customers, were to busy talking behind the bar, waiting an hour for food to arrive by then it was cold. A horrible experience would not recommend to anyone.

We've been a few times to Grounded, but this experience was very disappointing. Waited 45 minutes for a Buddha bowl salad and cheese on toast. No apology for the wait and the salad was very unpleasant. Will not be returning.

We walked in and could not tell staff from customers. We placed our order and sat down. We could not believe the conversations between staff and the customers, who were obviously a group of friends. They were swearing and a child was running in and out of the bar area and the staff were encouraging this. The noice level from these people was so high that we could not have a conversation and considered cancelling our order and going to a different restaurant as we could not tolerate the noise any longer. With that our food arrived and out of politeness we sat and ate it, paid and made our exit. The male staff member was not dressed appropriately with jeans hanging down exposing underwear and an ill fitting t shirt, not what you’d expect from front of house staff in a restaurant. We felt we were an inconvenience to the staff as they made no effort to ensure our experience was enjoyable. They were too engrossed in indecent conversations between each other. This is obviously why there was a huge lack of customers in there. Despite this, we enjoyed the food, however the poor service and uncomfortable atmosphere means we will not return.

Absolutely awful food. Myself and three friends arrived for dinner. Ordered our food at the bar and got the feeling we might not get what we had ordered just from the service!

Waiting 75 minutes for 3 paninis and 1 burger is simply unacceptable and worth 0 stars. Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest score possible.

Nice place, good food and also interesting kids menu. Prices a bit more than what it is, but ok. Definitely coming back.

I frequently visit the grounded in corsham and I'm quite appalled by how the standards have slipped.

I’ve visited here several times as a local and I always feel like it’s got such potential but let’s itself down

We waited nearly an hour for our food, atleast 2 or 3 tables who came in well after we’d ordered had food brought out to them before us. Clearly understaffed and badly managed on my experience today so unfortunately I would not recommend Grounded.

Stopped here after being turned away from a 'fully booked' half empty Methuan Arms yesterday afternoon because we were dying of starvation and needed sustenance rapidly! I had the fish finger sandwich with sweet potato fries, which was really good. Good service and really cheap food, what's not to like??! I'm not in Corsham very often but I fully intend to stop here again.

Visited corsham after a long time away having grown up there. Went into the cafe - waited a good while and one waiter didn't seen too interested in serving. After no attention for a good 10 minutes decided to leave. Held the door open for a struggling waiter and he never even said thank you or acknowledged me. And people wonder why southerners have developed a bad reputation for manners.........

Lovely building, could and should be a great venue. Unfortunately, very average coffee, below average full English which is also over priced. Quiet when I got there, yet tables filthy, sauce bottles filthy, sugar pots empty/near empty. It just needs staff that care and a bit of management as these are easy things to fix.

Called on at 11.30 am for hot food & drinks for 2 adults and 3 children. Only one obvious member of staff who was behind the counter so we helped ourselves to menus & chose our own table. Assumed we had to order at the bar which was correct. Was able to have burgers/chips/pininis & cake at this time. Hot food arrived within 15 minutes and portions sizes plentiful. Would visit again as prices very reasonable. Nice atmosphere very popular with locals for coffees.

Disappointed that the cider has changed from Orchard Pig to Thatchers. The younger staff are always smiley but 'others' could bust a smile now and again as a face like thunder doesn't bring in the punters!!!

Was refused food here last Wednesday as they apparently don’t serve it on certain days... (Wednesday’s being one of them) Emailed to find out this was actually a lie told by an older lady at the bar! Can’t fault for emailing back, but maybe get it back to the way it use to be with happy staff and good food and you will see more customers here.

We booked an 18th birthday at grounded in Corsham and although the staff were good and tried there best they had ran out of beer except one and coffee by 7.30 pm this isn't the first time this has happened and also the ladies toilets always stink and are always dirty and out of order. It's a shame as this is always happening and spoils what was a good evening.

Beautiful location. Unfortunately I can't say anything else positive. There was hardly anyone there yet we still had to wait 10 minutes to be served. Price for the drink we served was more expensive than advertised, we queried this and was just told its because it has cream? When you pay £4.15 for a glorified milkshake you expect it to be good. The "chocolate" and "hazelnut" frappe we were served tasted of nothing other than milk and cream. Tried to force myself to drink it just to get my money's worth but it was really just disgusting so ended up leaving it. Wouldn't come back.

The place is very nice, the food is ok, soft drinks VICTORIAN LEMONADE and CURIOSITY COLA are fantastic but ... restrooms are smelly - needing more careful maintenance, tables are not well wiped, the black round sofa in the upper balcony has a huge hole, a lot of ketchup/mayo/mustard bottles but all of them sticky and stained and mostly empty, the glasses are not bright transparent... many things really must be supervised with better care.

Busy Saturday morning needs a relaxed lunch and this is the place to go. Their brunches are very large so we asked for a large one shared between two and they were so happy to oblige - even shared it evenly between plates rather than bringing it on one with a spare. So understanding and a fantastic plate of food. I've only docked a point because the disabled toilet was out of order. Bit picky - sorry

Busy on a weekday lunchtime. Businessmen, families, couples and singles. Fast service. Good size portions. Lovely coffee. Trying an early breakfast next!

On a bank holiday Monday 4 of us went for brunch. As always at Grounded good coffee.

Been in Grounded a few times in different locations, third visit here and for some reason this branch always seem cold and under staffed. Great coffee, but the food when delivered underwhelmed.

Visited for the second and last time with my daughter for an afternoon cuppa and cake......the height of rudeness and bad service is when you stand and wait to even be acknowledged by the one person serving, exactly the same as the first time we visited, and according to several friends, we’re not the only ones. Sort it out management......

Full English and pancakes were good but boi was that cheesecake not tasting right. Great atmosphere if it wasn't a quiet Sunday afternoon. Attentive good looking girls. All in all good visit for a lazy lunch visit

Stopped off for coffee and cake. Cappuccino not frothy at all. It was just a white coffee with chocolate sprinkles! Cake was very dry and seemed like it had been out for a while. Customer service slow. And it was really cold inside!

Great atmosphere. Good food, helpful staff. Lots of space. Good decor. Suitable for all ages. Good location. Open in the evenings too.

An old chapel nicely converted into a lovely cafe. We had coffee and cake and everything was lovely.Service very friendly.

Great place for dinner with the family. Staff are warm and welcoming, nothings too much trouble. Nice play area for the kids and outside space to enjoy the recent sun. Would advise giving them a call to reserve if going to dinner as can get busy or you want to sit on the bigger tables.

Stopped for brunch whilst touring the sights of North Wiltshire after being given a recommendation from a previous customer. The menu is varied and food well cooked and presented. There is also a good range of drinks including beers, ciders, soft drinks and coffees and teas. As it was a nice afternoon we sat outside but the interior, being a former church, has a very interesting decor. It was busy and appeared to be well used by many local people but the service was quick and everyone was happy with what they had.

This is an old chapel and what reminds you of that is how cold it is. The menu isn’t inspiring and I’m afraid it’s just not for me.

Hadn’t been here for a couple of months and boy has it changed! It used to be busy at lunch times but this time we walked in to an empty restaurant. The fish finger sandwich used to be well presented and well cooked but this time I was presented with a tower of “stuff” towered on top of badly cut slabs of stale bread which proved impossible to eat without getting all over my work clothes which was annoying.The fish I did eat was rubbery surrounded by an oily batter and the fish I didn’t eat wasn’t cooked.When this was pointed out to the waiting staff, apparently I’d eaten too much of it to qualify for refund! I think they were too busy standing round licking cups (?!) to care but I was assured that the chef would told to pay more attention. Yep that made me feel better. Not.Now I know why it was empty.

Came in for lunch with friends as we where in the area and thought we would try grounded again (we havent been in for a few months) we went and ordered drinks and ordered food a little while after, the staff where very polite and welcoming and the place was a lot cleaner than our previous visit. We had ordered burgers and i had a latte coffee and was all lovely so we will be backKeep up the good work!!

Grounded are a small restaurant/coffee chain that are expanding fast. Unfortunately it appears that this restaurant has been neglected.Let’s start with the positives:-- Varied menu - Nice building/location- Inexpensive- Good CoffeeAnd now the negatives:-- Staff appear disinterested- Food quality is very poor- Restaurant in desperate need of a clean- There is no atmosphereI used to visit Grounded on a regular basis, it was the place to go in Corsham. It was managed by a French gentleman and ran like clockwork. Unfortunately when he left everything started to go down hill....... I hadn’t visited Grounded for some time as there are several high quality alternatives in the area. This morning I decided to give it a go and what a mistake that was!! The restaurant is filthy and I mean filthy. Everything is sticky/dirty from the furniture to the cutlery. I ordered a poached egg and bacon on toast and they couldn’t even get that right. The eggs were completely over cooked whilst the toast was undercooked. Then bacon was fatty and very salty tasting. The restaurant was very quiet, despite it being 10am on Saturday morning. Nobody asked how my food was and if it hadn’t been for the fact that I had paid upfront then I would have refused to pay! The staff stood around chatting when cleaning should have been on their agenda. To the owners of Grounded. Please bring in a new manager and either train or replace your staff. If you don’t you won’t last much longer in Corsham.

Had a nice pizza and wine recently. Staff friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food came out in a reasonable time and was well enjoyed.

Myself and my friends always order takeaway breakfast from Grounded - the perfect hangover cure! Generous portions and the full english breakfast is fresh and delicious! I would highly recommend!

Been here only the once . but really enjoyed my club sandwich and chips , definatly go again , was pleasantly surprised

Came in with a few friends to this beautiful converted chapel. We sat down at a table with old church pews and enjoyed a really lovely meal. The service was excellent and the staff could not do enough for us and as for the amazing coffee they serve well .... I will definitely be back again

The building is nice although everything else is average. The food, drinks and service are not bad, just not that great either.

Jack - The Manager & Andrea - The Assistant Manager offered excellent standard of service even though there was only 2 of them they made sure the place was spotless & always maintained a highest standard throw hour the day - i recommend you all take a visit for food & beverages xx

A great little find offering good food and nice surroundings tucked away in a great location in Corsham, well worth a visit.

Took my Mum here for lunch. Service was excellent and the lunch we choose was very good. No rush to leave and a good atmosphere.

We've have been there a few times before, sometimes jusst nfor a glass of wine sometimes for a burger. The prices are reasonable wait staff friendly. Good place to have a drink and gather your thoughts.

My first visit to a Grounded and had heard great things. I visited for lunch with a friend. On first impressions were good, interesting room and lots of tables. Good choice of food including all day breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus cakes etc. The food we ate was good, and the fish finger sandwich was large (goujons were large and fresh). Good choice of soft drinks, coffee etc. What let it down was the sticky table and sticky menus, this could easily be reticfied but we both noticed it.

Went for a lunch date with a friend. Food was good, albeit quite expensive for what it was. Staff were polite but not the most attentive. Would probably go again if needed somewhere in Corsham.

Popped in here last minute for a quick bite to eat and had a very average salad .. it still amazes me how anyone can charge nearly £10 for a chicken and bacon salad with a very small amount of Gorgonzola cheese and a couple of small pieces of chicken ... but apart from the price it was extremely tasty ... could of done with just a little bit more chicken and bacon ...and cheese and then it would of been perfect !! Really good atmosphere ..

Grounded in Corsham is in an old church complete with gravestones in the centre of Corsham with a car park right next to it. There are tables outside and a kids play area. The building and outside area are beautiful, it has such character and has been refurbished to look very funky inside. There is no table service, we had to queue up three times at the counter to order drinks, then food, then pay afterwards. There was a glass and sauce bottle left on the table from a previous customer and the menus were in need of a good clean! We both had eggs benedict and sweet potato fries which were ok, the eggs and fries were cooked to perfection but the hollandaise sauce tasted bland. The paintings on the wall for sale was a nice touch but just as a pet peeve - a lot of them were wonky on the wall! I came away feeling this place has the possibility to be amazing but wasn't quite there yet, it ticks so many boxes and with a little more love and attention it could be fantastic.

Lovely building and ideal location with a really good atmosphere in Grounded BUT sat down on something very sticky on the seat staining a light pair of jeans, sugar not wipped up and sticky menu, ordered and the staff were pleasant and food lovely couldn't fault but then went to the ladies one toilet with notice not working, one with lock broken and other with loose toilet seat and could gave been cleaner really disappointed, management need to appreciate the over worked staff that really were flat out hence couldn't clean up very well and repair the toilets won't be rushing back there

This is a brilliant place for just a drink or food! It's brilliant and I am so impressed with it!! Always makes me smile

I frequent grounded regularly, sometimes staying for food and sometimes staying for quiet drinks with friends. What I enjoy and trust so much about grounded is that it is well known as and backs up as a family friendly environment. Unfortunately today that was not the case. I would love me to stress that this was not due to the staff but due to a completely inappropriate patron. I had attended with my partner and our 18 month old son with the intention of a quiet drink. This was unfortunately not the case. On arrival of the venue we were greeted pleasantly by the staff as per usual, it was the actions of a fellow customer that ruined our visit. I am a young mum and felt intimidated by a man who is known by locals as a peodophile. He stared at me, uncomfortably, to the point my partner felt the need to ask him to stop. At this point he proceeded to stare even more. I felt exceedingly uncomfortable in a place I am usually very happy. I fervently believe this person ought be banned from this venue on the stance that it is a family friendly place. I hope that in future I can attend this place without feeling threatened.

Great breakfasts - you really feel the care which has been put into them.Lunch is good too - had soup, tasted homemade.Fantastic coffee too.The only downside is how cold the building is.

Popped in early evening one Saturday. Burgers and hotdogs were really nice. Quite a big menu, plenty of choices, meals were tasty: the venue just lacks a bit of atmosphere.

The service was fab, the food was fab and the atmosphere was fab! Definitely nothing less than 5*. A bonus was the 2 guys with fab bums!

Been in for breakfast a few times now, always lovely. Gluten free alternatives available. Staff are always happy to go above and beyond to accommodate.

A group of us visited last week what's happened!!! Food gone downhill, service poor all the staff wanted to do was to smoke outside. I ordered an extra portion of onion rings got two placed on top of my chips! Portions smaller and not really presented well!! Very disappointed!! Perhaps you may need to think about your customers instead of opening more cafe/diner! Will not be returning!!

Whilst i understand that being a chain this place would not necessarily have a unique appeal about it, i still feel that there is a lot they could do to improve a lot of aspects. Generally speaking the place is well presented, the staff are friendly and the menu is quite varied, however the execution of the food on the menu is pretty poor. The first thing i noticed as i walked towards the entrance, was a group of 3 chefs having a cigarette by the kitchen door, with the kitchen door open. That itself would be enough to put people off eating in there. I did decide to carry on with my decision to eat as to be perfectly honest, i was starving hungry! l was served by a young girl who was perfectly polite (There's no table service, you have to order at the counter), and ordered a chicken caesar salad. The description read as follows: Chicken Caesar with griddled chicken, mixed leaves, parmesan, croutons, tomatoes, cucumber andhomemade Caesar dressing. Food arrived fairly quickly, however it was not at all like what i thought i had ordered. It was in essence a dry chicken salad with a dribble of sauce. There was no croutons and the cheese was most definitely not parmesan, but most likely some pre-grated cheddar. A friend at the table ordered a ciabatta which came out so rock hard that she had to give up eating it, and another a portion of cheesy chips where the cheese seemed to have been well and truly rationed. Overall- it's not somewhere to shout about. But if you are pretty desperate for something quick (Not the cheapest also may i add), then this would be the place to go.

Waited 1 hour 30 for my meal and nothing. I had to go to the counter to cancel my meal as I just couldn't wait any longer. I was out with a work group and they all had theirs at different timings and I was sat there still waiting for my BBQ burger and it never showed. When cancelling my meal I was told it was due to 'a new chef' doesn't explain why I was the only one left out. Awful experience and won't be going back

Understaffed so we knew would have to wait but it was disorganised chaos.Ordered 3 soup of the day; lentil and a plain cheeseburger. Burger arrived not plain but with lettuce and tomato but no cheese so sent that back and the 3 soups were clear broth with vegetables and hard chick peas. The waiter came back with the same burger and told us the chef had changed the soup but had not told anyone. He took the burger back and then returned it without the salad but also no cheese. Eventually the 4th delivery was what I had ordered. Fair play they refunded all of the food but I dad driven to Witshire from Hertfordshire to take my elderly mum to lunch and she ended up with toast from the inedible soup and a coffee.

Lunch at Grounded after a bracing walk through Corsham Park. Warmed up nicely in no time. Food freshly cooked and served pretty quickly. My only one suggestion would be a little more seasoning. I've had the fish finger sandwich in the past and it was slightly tasteless so I opted for the brie, bacon & cranberry focaccia in the hope that it be a tad more flavoursome....personal opinion, I know, but it still needed seasoning! Husband's Polish soup looked good, albeit a little thin. The menu at Grounded is vast, the service good and the building in which Grounded is housed is interesting. It was lovely to see a whole variety of people snacking, eating and drinking here. It's now a regular warm up & eat venue after those bracing Corsham Park walks.

This cafe situated in a middle of an old church is quite original. The coffee is of a very good standard and the staff are pleasant.The pizzas are very good as well as the gourmet burgers. I recommend if you owe a dog Because dogs are very welcome. Evenings have a relaxing candlelight feels.Loving it! X

Normally I wouldn't write reviews which are bad...preferring to applaud good service however I feel that I have to warn people of the level of disdain from staff and the appalling quality of food that they will be met with here...The service and food has really gone down hill in the past few months...I have continually given this place, a hub at the centre of Corsham, the benefit of the doubt, not wanting to write it off on one bad experience or perhaps an off day as we all have them.Yesterday I visited with friends from out of the area who had been previously impressed and as it is the only place locally that advertises a coeliac friendly menu at reasonable prices. We were disappointed to find the kitchen closed but even more disappointed to find the surly staff just giving death stares as we stood in the doorway trying to work out where to go instead. Not even the courtesy to ask if we were OK given we had 4 children with us, to of whom were under the age of 4 years...we left without a member of staff even acknowledging our existence after approximately 15 minutes....I first noticed how the standards had dropped a few months ago when I had visited with friends, also from out of town. My friends son ordered fish fingers, which were soggy when they came out. She never questioned it until her 5 year old son started being profusely sick in the car on her way back home later that afternoon and she had to stop on the hard shoulder because he was so ill. I was profoundly embarrassed, feeling responsible for suggesting we ate there. I decided to give it another go and went with my husband, ordering fish and chips for dinner a few weeks later. When it came you could have used it to fill potholes...the fish had been fried for far too long and you could have armour plated a land-rover with my husbands chicken burger...I complained to the young girl at the counter and I was only surprised that she didn't say "but am I bovvered" as her look of disdain and complete disinterest was akin only to Catherine Tate's schoolgirl chav character, Lauren. Customer service here is at an all time low....as is the quality of the food. I am totally appalled and will no longer be bringing any custom here...I'd suggest people try any other eaterie in Corsham...they are all much better quality and service.

My first visit due to a party for a friend of mine. Fabulous modern use of an old building, whilst still maintaining charm. There was a good selection of bottled beers and ciders, as well as draft choices, teas and coffees. The food was excellent and the service very good; a surprisingly good choice and a great evening.

Second visit and as always my dog feels like a prince. Lovely place to have a lunch with family .delicious coffee and cupcakes. Love it!

Waited 35 minutes (not a busy day) for a bacon and egg toastie I then received a bacon sandwich and had to wait a further ten minutes for my toastie although my partner was already eating. I suggested a discount and was rudely laughed at and ignored and was offered no sauce for my toastie! Sounds silly but is a bacon and egg really all that difficult.

Have been here with my mum on numerous occasions. Very nice in an old chapel. Coffee is good and the food always well presented and tasty. Have seen a variety of staff and they are usually very helpful.

A great place to stop in for dinner after doing your shopping. Burgers are delicious with chilli blended into the mince. Looking forward to the Chippenham branch opening in 2017

Had a Christmas meal here and the food was fantastic and delicious and very well priced. We had the Xmas meal and I have to say the food was cooked very well and it was some of the nicest food I have had in a while.All members of staff were very friendly and accommodating so no problems there. Seems they may have upped their game as looking at previous reviews the customer service hasn't been great, on this occasion I couldn't fault them at all.The building itself is beautiful and you feel like you could be in posh restaurant in London not just in corsham, I would definitely go again

So as we stood at the bar a rather rude and grumpy fellow told us to move to the other side of the bar. No manners, not even a simple please or thank you. So at this point we were a little shocked.Upon being served by a lovely and friendly young lady we finally felt welcome - that is until this same grumpy fella barged into my Aunty as he walked past. No apology or acknowledgment of the fact he barged her into the bar as he passed - as we complain to the girl she explains this is the manager!!! We went to the table to await our food - again appears the grumpy manager puts our food down without a word! Our food was good, however my Aunty had to send hers back as there was a hair in the sauce. No problem with this, the girl working there was so apologetic a fresh meal was cooked and an offer of a free beverage.Had we not encountered the rude manager I would have rated this place a lot higher, even with having to send a meal back.This manager was devoid of manners entirely. I won't be returning until we hear of a new manager in place, which is a shame the rest of the staff were so lovely. Maybe they can publish his days off when it's safe to enjoy the food and feel welcome.

Called in for a coffee with my sister-in-law, we ordered a skinny latte and a skinny cappuccino, unfortunately there was no skimmed milk! Ridiculous as Grounded is about 20 steps from the supermarket! We sat down for a nice relaxing chat. No such luck. Somebody got the hoover out and started hoovering around, then someone decided to get up on a ladder and change the light bulbs! Not the relaxing catch up we would have liked. Think we may try somewhere else next time.

The last time was disappointing but my friend & I thought we would go back for 1 last try. Never again.The most miserable, rude unfriendly service, easy to see what's killing this place!The food order was wrong but was so horrible we didn't ask where the other portion was anyway.When asking for the bill we weren't given an itemised bill to check we were just told the amount so just decided to just pay and leave.No thanks for our custom etc etc.There are far too many other lovely places to go that really appreciate your business. Such a shame as it's a beautiful place.

Food very good, if a little slow in coming. Eaten here loads of times and it's nearly always good. Tables can be a bit sticky at times though!!

Visited a couple of weeks ago and food and service was OK, but this time there was a 35min wait for 2 Ciabattas and when I queried it to make sure the order hadn't got lost he didn't check and just said that they were busy and only had a small kitchen. All I was really after was a 'sorry it's been a while, it's on it's way'. When the food arrived the Ciabatta was nice, but I'd ordered sweet potato fries, and was given standard ones instead. As I was on my lunch break and already had to wait I didn't have the time or energy to complain about the wrong order.

i was pleasantly surprised recently, the food ,service and environment seem to have improved. the staff were more helpful, food tasty, tables not as sticky and very nice garden area.

This is the second time I've visited and again I was disappointed. Warm friendly excellent staff and it was nice to see the place busy

Came across this while on a short visit to Corsham, converted chapel, spacious and quite trendy. Had a coffee and snack, can highly recommend the nyc hotdog! Only fault was that it was a Friday lunchtime and they were short staffed which gave the impression that they were a bit harassed and rushed. Would like to visit in the evening to sample the 'bar aspect' of the place. Pleasant garden outside and there was a great mixture of customers from young mums with toddlers to OAP's.

Great coffee and one of the best fry ups ever; quality ingredients presented nicely and at a great price. Would recommend for breakfast.

Saw an old chapel with the word 'Grounded' written on it. Had no idea that this was a cafe until the bartender at a nearby pub told us we could get a good sandwich there.Anyway, it's a nice conversion retaining some of the features from its days as a chapel.Coffee was not great; didn't look or taste like it had been made with pressurised water.However, the food was good. My daughter had a sort of ciabatta toastie filled with cheese, mushrooms and ham. Very good. I had two poached eggs on a muffin, with some bacon. Delicious.Not cheap at £5 - 6 a go but I'll probably visit again.

We stopped for coffee after exploring Corsham. What a lovely and unusual venue! ALL the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional, we will definitely return soon.
