Ground Espresso Bars in Lisburn

Unfortunately, I have to award 1 star, but it should be none. I can't comment on the service or atmosphere because we didn't stop after seeing how the food is presented. All the pastries, etc., especially those on the countertop are so close to the people queuing, coughing and sneezing that it's not hygienic, but worse than that; look a little closer and you see flies crawling over and through the food. Why do these places place food, uncovered on the countertop? Customers can see it just as well behind the glass counter, which should have sliding doors at the back for staff access. Other coffee shops follow this much more hygienic practice, but Ground fail miserably at this. The Food Standards Agency would have a field day.

Good location overlooking the Sprucefield Complex in Next. Good spot for a relaxing coffee and a snack.

Have always enjoyed my coffee at Ground in Sprucefield but the new seating at the window is a step back. What's with the tiny kiddie chairs and tables? It was fine as it was!

Always slow service, always staff busy chatting in the kitchen area when people are waiting to be served. Different quality of drink every time, not a fan.

Staff are all lovely,great service, coffee is great and food is good, place is keep very clean , staff work very hard.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Appreciate it was very busy with all the bad weather but... I ordered a sausage roll and tea, my husband had coffee and muffin. The coffee wasn't particularly warm, the muffin was ok. I'm lactose intolerant so normally go for a vegan option but the selection was very limited. So I had a sausage roll instead - overcooked and didn't taste particularly nice. There were no teapots or cups available so I was given my tea in a paper takeaway cup. We sat in the high stools in the centre of the cafe - mine was broken and very wobbly - potentially dangerous so I pointed it out to a member of staff. All in all, not the best experience I've ever had

Gluten Free completely ignored these days not a single option.

Got informed the oven or microwave is off an Hour before closing. The food is sitting out. Seriously who turns away good customer. The answer reeked of they cant be bothered and lazyness..

Nothing like being served a coffee only to be told you have 10mins to drink it and get out. Edited sep 22 - salad on, salad off- if you don't have the sauce and salad guys then at least tell your customers or reduce the price.

Pretty disappointing that you can’t get a bit of toast 30 mins before it closes (because they are cleaning up) especially with 4 staff on!!

Keep a good work ground its my favourite cafe bar good staff, clean and good quality food and Reasonable price. Keep up a good job

I don't understand why the queues for the M&S cafe are so wild when this place has much nicer food, coffee and staff! Quite small, but plenty of room for a buggy and a highchair.

Coffee is perfect - and the cheese toastie are a fav!!!

Haven't been there for a while and was shocked at how tired and worn everything is. Seats with bits coming off, walls in waiting area and in toilets in bad need of painting and tables had very worn surfaces. The staff were very pleasant but stood chatting when tables needed cleared. The two stars are for pleasant service at the counter and the coffee still tastes good.

Ground at Sprucefield.....There is no extractor fan near where the food is being heated so when the door of the microwave oven opened the residual smoke was floating over to the customers seating area. They need to get rid of that horrible microwave and cook a Pannini properly on a hotplate toaster.

Coffee here is always top-notch

Friendly staff and never overly busy. Food is decently priced considering it's a coffee shop which makes me more inined to buy something Coffee is great and there's plenty of seating. There are also charging points on the seats next to the window which is a plus. Toilets could do with a bit of a spruce but I think these are shared with Next.

Good coffee but dreadful snacks/traybakes. Unless you are just looking for a coffee avoid.

With most of the coffee shops in Banbridge full to the rafters it was pleasant to get a seat and be served immediately and by pleasant staff. Coffee as always was delicious and the muffin was great.

Good but they don't do real skinny hot drinks. Only semi- skimmed

Love what they have done to the place food OK not enough on for gluten free why would you want to buy two sconces

Lovely coffee shop! A firm favourite with lovely cake & tray bakes. Try the Nutella chocolate cake heated up slightly - 😋!

A lovely haven in the centre of town. Reasonable selection of snacks etc. Comfortable seats make for a nice hideaway.

Staff very friendly. Tea, coffee very good as are pastries and scones. Good value for money. Only negative is they don't clear the tables quickly enough.

Coffee fine, been few times before and okay, but food not just as good as other Ground Espresso Bar locations (Ballymoney, Magherafelt, Banbridge, Portrush, Coleraine)
