Griffin in Nuneaton and Bedworth

I've just been to the Griffin Inn with my daughter for her birthday lunch. The food was delicious and we were so well looked after by the lovely Michelle. Thank you Michelle for being so friendly, kind and professional.

Lovely food. Great server. There was an issue with the steak, but chef was fantastic and understood it was an issue with the meat, not the cooking and took the cost of the meal off the bill. Otherwise everything was great.

Turned up without a booking but they happily found us a bar table .food was excellent and the service was great even brought us two extra portions of gravy for the people having pies at no extra charge will definitely be going back

The griffin is a really nice pub! even though it was busy we were still met with lovely customer service by all the staff including Dan who was our server. I would definitely recommend going there to others!

Lunchtime meal with friends. Wanted to pay separate bills, but the waitress informed us that we couldn't! 😕 So, we ordered together, but when we went to pay and split the bill, it turned into a right palaver. In the end, my friend paid, and I forwarded my portion from my bank. The manager informed us we could have ordered separately and would have saved the faff!! Staff training moment perhaps?

We came with our family dog and was made to feel very welcome. Was shown to our table. Asked about allergies and given a menu. Was explained how to order etc. We was served at the bar by a friendly bunch and the food didn't take long to arrive to our table. We was served our food by a lovely young lady called Shelby. She was very friendly and polite. She grabbed us everything we needed and asked if everything was OK with our meals. After we had finished she came back to ask if we wanted dessert but we was stuffed from the mains. All the staff was so friendly. We was a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. We can't wait to come back and enjoy another meal.

Waited 25 minutes for our drinks which were standing on the bar surrounded by people waiting to be served. We left.

Food was good. Service was great, sharice was really helpful in getting us a table which was large and we hadn't pre booked so thankyou so much for that. Lovely garden area too.

There was 10 of us in our party and we were out for a birthday. The food was amazing, and our waiter Andy, was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a really good laugh with him. Will definitely be back

A Late lunch so was fairly quiet. Plenty of parking. We both had the Chicken,leek and potato pie with trimmings and it was delicious with quick service from friendly staff.

Great food and service! We have been wanting to come to the Griffin now for some time but always needed to book in advance. Food is delicious and good size portions. We will be back for the Sunday roast as it looked amazing!

We are now regulars at the Griffin , I work shifts and when I can we pop up about once a month , the place itself is lovely and cozy and the food is great and not expensive, we often get the same waitress Michelle who always welcome us like an old friend and happily recommends the best offers she always remembers what wine we like which makes our visit special, we even have a go on the pub quiz if we are there at the right time !

We had a lovely night and the food was superb. Katie and Nicola looked after us, thank you both. We will defo be back 😊

It was a good experience overall, the atmosphere and venue is really nice and currently they are doing 30% off mains at the moment. I would some items on the menu like desserts are bit overpriced.

Staff were so friendly & helpful. Great service with all meals/ desserts coming together etc. Everyone's food was delicious, fabulous steak n ale pie, lovely crispy chips etc. They made an 18th birthday meal with the family lovely & we love that we can even take the dog . My elderly dad tripped over at the end of the meal & they helped him up & checked on him.

Food okay but expensive .Chicken and mushroom pie not cook fully, base pastry uncooked. One glass of wine ,large €9.25. Will not be returning.

There is a new menu since my last visit around 2 years ago. I had Lamb shank from the specials. The food was absolutely delicious. Lamb cooked to perfection, came clean off the bone and melted in your mouth. The gravy was similar to my own home made lamb gravy. Couldn't taste the garlic in the mash, but that is my failing as I need a lot of garlic to taste it. Mash was smooth and creamy, just how it should be. Thoroughly enjoyed this meal and will definitely be having it again.

From the customer service to the food service was perfect, staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was served quicker than expected and was mouth watering, hats off to the chef. And thank you to Kacey who was our server that evening she showed amazing customer service and was amazing at her job.

Friendly staff, nice quiet atmosphere, comfortable seating. Handy location just off the A444 for meeting a friend for drinks. Unfortunate that a kitchen fire on that evening meant that we couldn't eat there, as we were looking forward to it, but the fire wasn't apparent so it was clearly dealt with professionally, and a staff member (even though she was on her break) explained the situation and recommended a nearby place for us to eat, which was appreciated.

Took our Daughter out for her birthday meal. Served by Kacey who was very polite, straight away asked us for any drinks orders, gave us extra time to decide what to order as we got carried away chatting. Kacey came back after approx 3 mins and took our food order, asking how we wanted our steaks cooked, what sauces we would like if any to go with them. Drinks arrived as requested, food arrived within 15 mins. Chef Sean, the chips were delicious, chunky, tasty, fluffy inside and non greasy, the steaks were cooked to perfection, one Sirloin steak medium rare, another Sirloin blue and a Rump Blue. A burger was also ordered for another person and was cooked to perfection. Over all experience at The Griffin, our first visit, atmosphere was calm, peaceful and friendly, staff polite and welcoming, food was beautiful, building was clean and tidy, (5* rating hygiene certificate on door) We'll definitely recommend to others and we will return. Was also able to use a Blue Light Card for discount.

Had a brilliant experience yesterday when taking my family to lunch (3rd September). Food was great and also the staff, especially our hostess ‘Katie’, couldn’t rate her enough, I believe she was a new member of staff but this didn’t show, very friendly and approachable and nothing was too much for her. Please pass on my thanks.

Very pricey for what the food is, service was ok, but the men's toilets weren't very nice and our table hadn't been wiped down in parts.

Really enjoyed my meal here last night. Will surely come again.

I’m going to be honest. Everything about me and my partners experience here was amazing! The food was unbelievable! I can’t even give a negative review on one item I had because everything I ordered was so delicious! Sirloin steak with mash and mushrooms, calamari, cheesy garlic bread & the brownie dome dessert! Not only that, the waitresses were so polite and lovely to speak to. They all had a positive and friendly attitude. It was a 10 out of 10 experience.

We came here as we were having a weekend away at waterfront lodges, the food was absolutely beautiful, the price was about right and the service was on point. Hats off to the chef as each meal was bang on! Would highly recommend and we will be returning x

I came here for lunch and had the best caesar salad, made by Emma. The Service from Will was also amazing, he was so kind and nothing was a problem for him. I would definitely come here again, just for the service.

Took the family for a meal today we ordered g F our chicken roast dinners and on the whole was poor the chicken was the main component on the plate small quantity of vegetables and what was was poor quality a few roast potatoes half cold and poor quality so yes c on the whole for the moneys paid was very poor and I felt as if I was robbed bit happy at all service was good by all means and very pleasant I shall not be returning here unless I receive a substantial refund !!

Terrible Terrible food.luke warm chicken. Portions are children's portions.had hunters chicken was the smallest piece of chicken I had ever had had r thin bacon on top hardly any cheese.about 20 chips on plate plus was supposed to come with salad but only came with about 10 lettuce leaves not even a dressing.the other 4 guests all felt the same about the food. I could go on and on. Definitely wouldn't recommend plus will not be returning

I haven't visited the Griffin for a couple of years when I had an enjoyable meal However, my lunch today was really disappointing. I chose the steak and ale pie. The the pie was hot but the pastry was disappointing, it was very dry. The vegetables were luke warm but worst of all was the mash.. cold, dry, unappetising, and uneatable. My granddaughter had a burger off the children's menu and enjoyed it. Both my husband and daughter had the gammon and said it was nice. Maybe I just chose the wrong meal. The restaurant was quite busy and the staff were working very hard.

Meal to celebrate my birthday with family, service was very efficient. Issue with the gas on fizzy drinks but was not a real problem for us as alternatives were provided. Staff were all very nice and polite and happy to help out. Kacey, our server, was efficient and very accommodating.

I've had many nice meals here in the past, but last night I was a bit disappointed. Waited 45 minutes for our food. The steak was dry and not very warm. I expected it to come with a bit of salad or coleslaw or something which is pretty standard these days but all I got was a limp bit of foliage and 1/4 of a tomato. I complained to the girl about the "salad" and was told it wasn't salad, it was pea shoots. Well whatever it was, it was too shrivelled to eat and not very appealing. Thankfully the sweet potato chips were delicious.

Crap Wednesday night had hardly anything on the menu that was available 6pm walked out and went for a curry

Edit: We decided to go a couple of months later and had steak again. This time it was cooked very well and it wasn’t tough of chewy like before. We went again 2 weeks ago and it was perfect. I don’t know if you have a new chef in there or the staff took the review to heart but we were happy with our food so I can say I can recommend Griffin for rib eye steak 🥩 We've been to Griffin at least 3 times for lunch in the past month. Every time we ordered ribeye steak for lunch and different starters/puddings. I must say - food is inconsistent. The first and second time the steak was lovely and cooked medium as requested. Today it was way overcooked and there is no way the chef hasn't noticed it while plating it as it was crunchy on the top and meat was wavy not flat as usual. It looked like the cook left it on the pan and forgot about it while cooking something else. We didn't complain or send it back as we were hungry and just wanted to eat. Dear or dear, it was like chewing an old leather sole 😩 such a disappointment! pudding can be a hit or miss too - warm chocolate brownie wasn't warm at all. The apple and cherry crumble was lovely and hot and there was plenty of it. Cheescake is really nice but I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen as sometimes there is more lemon curd than the other. In my opinion there should be more staff on the shift, today we've heard one of the girls saying loud and clear that 'she needs a toilet now cause she's been holding it for an hour' - thanks for sharing! 🥴 And every time we've been there we had get hold of someone ourselves to either order a pudding or to pay as no one ever checks if everything is okay or if we need anything. Please hire more staff! You need it especially in busier times like half terms etc.
