Greg’s Bistro in Stirling

Simply, really good food. The slow cooked beef was delicious. Our service was great. Very friendly and attentive. Our friends from Wales who were staying enjoyed the experience too.

The two of us just had a super dinner in Greg’s Bistro. Nice atmosphere, delicious food and top service by the lovely, capable and caring Taryn, who made our evening special. Top marks, Taryn, and also for the chef who produced such tasty fayre.

Very poor service. One waitress on duty who was also covering upstairs accommodation queries. Food was good when it eventually arrived. Had to ask for second course after 30 minutes wait. Only two out of three red wine choices in stock. It appeared the bar behind the bistro had preference of staff rather than paying customers in the bistro. Would not return.

I will never step inside Greg's Bistro again. The owner and man who works the counter where customers walk in is rude (actually, he was beyond rude!) and did not honor a $50 gift card because he no longer had that card reader. Gift cards under $250 NEVER expire in NH, and it's against the law for him to not accept it. Not my fault he changed systems and did not figure out another plan.

From the moment we booked to arriving at the restaurant we couldn't have received a better welcome. My husband is coeliac and the girl we booked with had passed this information onto the restaurant so we knew we were in safe hands. The guy who served us was really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Fabulous meal, atmosphere and great night out. Thanks so much

As we entered, there was a young gentleman playing the piano - it sounded beautiful! We were greeted by a friendly waiter and welcomed in. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had the homemade lentil soup which was very comforting, and haggis bonbons. The main meals were equally yummy. I would definitely recommend this place gif families, or friends. There is a bar connected to building for after drinks.

It was an excellent place we found by chance. The meals were extra to the menu card. They were freshly prepared and we did not have to wait long. Everything was special and extremely tasty. The service was totally welcoming and cordial.

My wife and I set off from York on our 2nd Wedding Anniversay travels too the Isle of Mull, with an overnight stay at Poopies B&B in Callander, gorgeous little B&B, that's for another review. We were recommended Gregs Bistro a quaint 20 seat Bistro. On entering, there was a young man, who we later found out was still at school and earning a few pennies, he was....... playing the piano. He was superb, he never stopped, and his repertoire was so extensive. Classics from Handel and Mozart to some of the latest from the 90's, but so beautifully merged. Outstanding. A caution if you are not a fan of piano and entertainment after 9 on a Friday best avoid. This Bistro has personality Talking of which so did our Waiter, knowledgeable, happy, confident, fun, and chatty in the right amounts. The food was excellent, as was the wine, the whole ambience of the place just suited a couple looking for romance after a long drive and not expecting it. Team Greg's you were awesome. Well worth the tip.

Really lovely food, great value. Had the feathered blade of beef, dauphinois potatoes. Also, best cheesecake ever. Live piano music, nice, friendly staff. Will definitely visit again and would absolutely recommend!

Superb food and service and very reasonable prices. Bonus was live piano music. Great evening and best meal in Callander.

We went to the bistro for my 50th birthday celebrations on Saturday. Nicky and the team were absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and atmosphere was perfect. The flowers and cocktail from Greg were an added bonus and much appreciated. Brilliant night all round. Thank you all for making it so special for me.

Excellent food, the smoked trout was absolutely perfect. Friendly staff! Easy reservation, table was ready for us on time.

We had a selection of dishes from melt in your mouth Featherblade of beef to delicate Salman n with lemon butter prawns. Star ✨ f the show was locally sourc d whisky barrel smoked trout with honey and a hot not of chilli...superb. Ryan, the 🎹 at Dalgair n Fri/Sat night is very talented. Wine selection was well above average.

Had dinner in the bistro it was fantastic!atmosphere and surroundings were great food was amazing and the service excellent defo be back big shout out to chef!!

Had Dinner in the newly opened Bistro and the atmosphere was great! Loved all the paintings and things so much character!! I had the feather blade beef (one of the g/f options) it was soo yumm all the components went so well together I enjoyed every bite!!! Highly recommend and would eat there again! Cheers Greg!

First family meal since lockdown. 50th Birthday celebrations. Good menu choice and good value. Food was well prepared and presented and served in timely fashion. Young waitress was excellent, keeping up served with food and drinks all evening with a friendly smile.

We moesten er twee x langslopen maar op advies van een jaar-oude review toch geprobeerd. En wát een verrassing! Bij binnenkomst leek het wat eenvoudig en hadden we niet het idee dat het een succes zou zijn. Niks is minder waar, wat hebben we lekker gegeten en wat doet de jongen achter de bar goed zijn best! In dit restaurant annex sportcafé kun je prima eten! Aanrader zijn de Haggis balls!

Popped in here for a quick easy family meal, dining room very tired and in need of TLC however reviews seemed good so looked past that. Youngest child ordered the chicken fillets and upon first sight they looked good, proper chicken fillets not junky chicken nuggets. Upon cutting into them to cut up for daughter (3 years old) found that they were raw inside! Alerted waitress who was very disappointed also and went to kitchen to get new new ones, second time around however they were raw once more! Terrible chef it would seem. Our burgers were also very bland and served in a terrible dry old bread bun. Sons pizza was over cooked and was dried out also. Overall the experience was terrible. We didn’t have to pay for the raw chicken obviously however as my wife was totally sickened after seeing the chicken she wasn’t fit for her meal either. Normally I would have expected to only pay half the bill or get drinks for free, they seemed to think it was amazing only discounting the inedible kids meal. Avoid and find elsewhere! The chef clearly can’t cook!

We liepen het dorp in op zoek naar een restaurant met een wat uniekere kaart. We zijn hier naar binnen gegaan en wat een surprise. Binnen was het het leeg, maar de back bar achter (ook van hen) was druk met vooral locals. Ze komen uit Manchester en ze zijn geboren in Sri Lanka. Wat een leuke, lieve mensen met 2 prachtige dochters en, het belangrijkste, die man kan koken! We hebben heerlijk gegeten en ondertussen met hen gekletst over van alles en nog wat. Dit restaurant is echt een aanrader! Een verborgen pareltje, dus als je in Callander bent, ga er heerlijk eten, je zilt niet teleurgesteld worden.

Such warm and inviting staff who went above and beyond to cater to my dietary needs (delicious curry!). Everyone in our family of six loved their meal. Lots of choice on the menu. Highly recommended!

On a weekend away with friends and we wanted a curry, but alas the only Indian Restaurant has closed. Delayed gates to see that this Bistro attached to our hotel had a new and talented chef who was offering and additional ‘Asian Menu’. The food is very good, the onion bhajis were the lightest I have ever had, chicken lollipops so tasty and the tandoori lamb chops so tender. Fine paratha’s stuffed with potato helped mop up our curries, and everyone agreed it was excellent. I must also mention the service in the bistro and in the hotel generally, everyone was friendly, attentive and made our stay even more enjoyable as a result. Thanks to Debbie, Byron, Ewan and of course the Chef!I can’t recommend it enough.

Stopped off here while visiting nearby. Nice looking hotel from the main street. Lovely beer garden. Staff all very friendly. Great menu choice and all the food was tasty. Will definitely go back if im nearby again.

Had diner at Greg's last week and it was a very relaxed venue with good food. The steak and sausage pie was very good - even if it wasn't really a pie, a modern deconstructed style puff pasty top on pie filling! Prices were reasonable, but the bar staff did seem to have trouble with the till and getting the right items on the bill.

We visited Greg's Bistro on our holiday in Callander and had a very enjoyable meal. In particular, the scampi was succulent and the rhubarb and apple crumble was the best we've tested in a long while! The highlight of our visit was Ross, our very attentive waiter who went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

Opciones tradicionales como el pescado y patatas fritas, carne y salchichas tarta eran apenas aceptable.

Newly opened Greg's Bistro surprised us with its small restaurant and mouthwatering selections. We stumbled upon this restaurant and were pleased with its fresh flavors and traditional dishes served creatively. One of our best meals in Scotland!
