Green Gate Indian Restaurant in Stirling

The food was excellent! I had the vegetable biryani and my wife had the seafood curry. But we had to wait one and a quarter hours for any food, even our naan. And we had to ask three times even to get a glass of water. I guess they were short staffed.

Been coming here for years, and honestly never dissapoints. From quality of food to the overall service is absoultey top notch. Until next time!

i knew i should'not have listen to the wife but she was very impress with the dozens and more positive comments left by Asian reviewers. So after many years since we were very ,very , regular customers we decided to try again since our last poor experience. We visited on Friday night shortly after six ,me the wife and my 10 y.o. grand daughter. On entering a completely empty restaurant we were seated on a table looking right over a nice bare wall. Yes i know i go out for the food but given the choice of other spaces it really was a great impression. The drinks ordered and served were almost a half pint of lager, a supposed to be Sauvignon Blank of non descriptive taste and served room temperature, and a Fanta. I tried to order a traditional lamb dish but following a couple of very firm recommendations from the waitress i settled for the " everybody favourite lamb shank." Unfortunately the shank was not cooked properly and the meat which usually pulls off the bone could not even be sliced with the help of the knife and fork provided. I returned 90% of it with no questions asked by the staff. It must be the norm i thought. The fact that this dish was also 4 pounds more expensive than the one i was intending to order did not help either. My wife biriany King Prawns was served in a small urn like jar with the rice and the King Prawns stuffed inside and quite a mess was to be made to try to fish out the prawns to dip in the sauce. Not a great loss as she too left most of her food but the prawns. My gran daughter butter chicken was indeed on a par with any of the other delivered by any of the takeaways in Stirling. We decided to pass on everything else and including a single portion of pakora we left 85 pounds lighter.The beauty of dining out in stirling.

The only Indian in stirling we go to. Staff are always friendly and polite and cannot do enough for you. The food is also great, the menu is updated with new items frequently and the staff are only happy to help with suggestions. We also enjoy our takeouts from them which recently has been changed to match the new additions like street food and the soups they give out complimentary when you visit. Cannot recommend green gates enough and will not hesitate to visit again

Visited Green Gates last night to celebrate my wife’s 40th Birthday and what an amazing meal we had. We were given a complementary mushroom soup which was very nice and would order a whole bowl of it next time. Myself and my wife wanted to try something different so opted for the Chilli Fish Pakoras which were absolutely insane the fish was extremely well cooked and all the spices balanced perfectly. We also have the prawn poori and Chilli Chicken Dosa both were outstanding and the portions were very generous for being starters. The poppadoms and mango chutney were also really good and we have never been a fan of but this chutney was great. We also had chicken tikka masala the fried pilau rice and garlic naan. The masala was the best we have ever had same with the rice and naan. The manager also gave my wife a complementary glass of wine as well as desert which was a really nice touch. This place is 1000/10 and couldn’t recommend it enough if you like Indian food. We will be coming back very soon it’s worth the 45 min drive from Dundee. Thank you very much for making my wife’s birthday so special this meal is a memory we will cherish forever and we can’t wait to come back!!

If you want really good food and a relaxed atmosphere, this is the place. I shared the Raan. It was moist and delicious and very generous. I will definitely be back.

First time trying this exceptional restaurant for our family celebration. From the minute we arrived until we left we were so impressed with not only the delicious starters and main courses plus sides, but the staff are fantastic. Went out of their way to accommodate our daughter who cannot eat spicy food and nothing was too much trouble for them. A+ from all of our family our new favourite

Hot, spicy and very tasty. Group of six, warm welcome and friendly service throughout. Seemed a bit pricey but the portions proved to be decent value. Would recommend the mixed grill main and the aubergine starter. A rather nice pint of Kingfisher too.
