Green Chilli in Monmouthshire

Ordered food as we were going past and I must say absolutely top class food! Hot and tasty and the best Indian I had in a while! 10/10 Recommend to everyone!

Ordered a curry after not having a curry for the past year or so, and enjoyed it so much!! Usually like vindaloo and phal’s but thought I’d just take it steady because I had not had curry for so long. I went for a madras and thought I’d try some popadoms that I’d never had!! I was so pleasantly surprised they were the hottest (spicy) thing. But I was so pleased with my first curry in so long. I will definitely be ordering from green chilli again. But when I used to order from them, they were always good!! Great to see they are still great. Thanks green chilli guys!! FYI ( the popadoms were masala popadoms.

To be honest, I've only stated using them the last 3 months. However, I really can't knock the food. It's hot, fresh, authentic and really tasty. It's also really good value!

After being let down by local pub ( thanks White Hart Littleton) we ordered a takeaway for 8 from the Green Chilli, on a friday night. TBH i was expecting a delay, or the odd dish to be wrong as it was a big order on a busy night, but it was collected at the exact time I'd been given , and every starter, main, rice,bread & sides was as ordered, and delicious. Lucky I picked up enough menus for the other 7 boys as they all asked for one. 5 Star lads, spot on , see you again soon!

Great fresh food. Best Indian and Bangladesh food in Chepstow. I ordered food there couple times, collection or delivery always before suggested time. Never have problems. Very nice service. Recommended 100%

Christmas eve so very busy. I will give it another try in January.

Estimated delivery was around 8.20pm. When food had not arrived at 8.45 they promised delivery in a further 10mins. We rang at 9.00 and were told food on the way. Around 9.50 we were told food had been delivered at 8.30. It later transpires that apparently the driver had given the delivery to someone outside the house without knocking on the door or confirming the identity of the customer! It would seem that this was some opportunistic thief and we will be reporting this to the police.

Positively surprised by how nice the curries and sides are from Green Chilli. We’ve ordered twice so far and enjoyed it both times. 👍

Great quality food & good size portions

One of the dodgiest takeaways I’ve ever eaten. I’d give them a zero but the system won’t let me. We ordered a takeaway via Just Eat at around 7.30pm. The food arrived at just before 11pm - over 2 hours later. We tried to call to check on the order and the number rang through to a mobile. The first time we called, the guy who answered lied to us and said the food was on the way. The second time we called he just ghosted us till we hid our number. This restaurant appears to be doubling up as a taxi office and we strongly suspect the takeaways go out with the cabs. The food, when it arrived, was cold and basically inedible. Burnt onion bhajis, soggy, oily pakora. We ordered a paratha which was like a greasy grey rag. It looked like it has been chucked in the deep fat fryer. My husband ordered a king prawn curry. He got six tiny shrimps swimming in oily sauce. My “Malay” curry was chicken curry with a tin of cheap Tesco brand canned fruit salad chucked into it - complete with grainy cubes of pear and soggy cherries. I kid you not. We ended up chucking most of it in the bin. My advice: don’t waste your money by ordering from this restaurant - you’ll only end up hungry, poor and very annoyed. You’d be better off with a slice of cheese on toast.

Myself and my husband have been ordering from this takeaway/restaurant for many years- we are based in Sedbury Chepstow and probably spend around £60-£100 per month here (Or Did). Long story short upon phoning to book a delivery this evening and after relaying our order the gentleman from the Indian then asked for our address; when my partner attempted to give the member of staff our address he launched into a VERBAL tirade questioning my partners attitude towards him, and informing my partner he should speak clearly and decently to people. The member of staff came across extremely AGGRESSIVE in his mannerisms to the point where my partner had to put the phone down as he was completely shell-shocked to say the least. We have given this Indian a large amount of business and this is how they treat their returning customer’s Disgusting Behaviour. Really disappointing. Max & Michael

The best indian/Bangladeshi food for miles around.Our regular go to for delicious,interesting indian food.The menu is vast and caters for all.As vegetarians there is a huge choice of starters and main courses.The food is tasty,fresh and always amazing.Excellent service.Fast,friendly.Also home delivery available.Would highly reccomend.

Decent food but beware - they seem to think it’s okay to ask for an extra £2 for delivery in cash at the door even if a £2.50 delivery fee plus service charge were already paid on just eat, and had and extra fee had NEVER been charged in the past. We were lucky we had the cash on hand as it was extremely unexpected since that is one of the great things about just eat... no cash required! And then they also forgot to include the rice. When we called to inquire, they were reluctant to bring it out until we pressed as we genuinely needed it (and paid for it!) and then they brought the rice that was missing. Doubt we’ll be ordering from here again. The service and absurd extra fees are very disappointing.

East to miss and to be honest just looks like every other small takeaway, but wow, the food was good. Far better than either of the large Indian restaurants and the young chap serving is so polite. Fantastic tandoori dishes.

I’ve never ordered from this Indian before so I didn’t really know what to expect. Well to start the food was around 30 minutes late, when it finally arrived we noticed that they had forgotten the onion bajjis. The prawn biryiani had probably about six prawns in there all together to be honest may as well have paid £9.50 for a tub of rice! I asked if they could also do me some garlic king prawns as a started which was no issue with them, however it seemed like they just cooked the prawns and chucked some sliced garlic into the bottom of the foil tray, the same issue with the garlic mushrooms, no taste or flavour what so ever! We then rang and said that they had forgotten the onion bajjis and for some reason the person speaking just didn’t understand, but that was no issue they then came about 2 minutes later with the bajjis and 2 poppadoms and another pot of mint sauce (not to mention we already had 3) to “apologise”. The onion bajjis were cold and disgusting if I’m honest and so were the rice and chips! Would never order from here again and would not recommend this Indian to anyone looking for somewhere to order! Really disappointing and don’t see how people would class this as “THE BEST INDIAN IN CHEPSTOW” I’m appalled!

Don’t just a judge a book by its cover just because of its location next to the kebab shops. Since it’s been taken over this has been my go to Indian in Chepstow. Best take-away in town no questions asked.

WOULD GIVE ZERO RATE IF I COULD!! Where to start...the food was ordered at 6pm expected for delivery at 7:15. The time came and no food. Waited until 7:30 then rang them to ask where food was. They said they were sorry it wasn’t getting to us for another 15 minutes and they would add in extra poppadoms (we already ordered 2 of these 1p over size crisps!!). It got to 8pm and still no food!!!!!!!!...called again and was told it was out for delivery and should be here soon. We paid for when it’s only 1100 meters away by car (and even less walking). Food arrived at 8:15 1hour LATE!!!!!!! Food was cold and watery as hell. They gave us a total of 1 extra poppadom. Only 1 after over an hour wait from expected delivery time, absolutely disgusting service!!!!!! It was a joke and most definitely not worth it for what was received. Didn’t get an update that it would be late until 9pm which was after we had food. An ABSOLUTE JOKE!

The worst takeaway curry I've ever eaten. A massive disappointment to the whole family after waiting an hour and a half, the curry was bland with hardly had any meat. The King Prawn Biryani costing £10.50 was greasy and had 2 little bits of frozen prawn in. When we rang to complain we had the delivery driver laughing and being extremely rude to my father in law. All round a horrendous experience and a massive disappointment.

Delicious food, amazing taste with each mouthful. Serious chef's that know exactly what they're doing! Worth a taste bud visit!

Without doubt the best Tandoori king prawns I have ever eaten. I have a slight intolerance to onion so asked the chef please not to add any as a garnish. They were grilled to perfection succulent and spicy with a slight covering of fresh chopped coriander bloody lovely tell us mother

Me and My Fiance Had A Night in And ordered 2 Starters 2 Mains and garlic bread and popadomms we had an estimated delivery time of 19.20 the food arrived at 20.15 with the driver raising the price of the meal by 2.50 even though we had a price off the website he said and I quote " sorry bruv it's not me it's the big boss man" well I'd like the "big boss man" to reply to this also when the food arrived it was stone cold chicken was dry and also no popadomms disgusted with the service and not even a sorry for being late, we will never use this again

This was the first time I ordered from this take away. The food arrived on time, still hot and was very tasty. The lamb was tender, which was great because often I find lamb from other takeaways to be quite tough.

Food average, from an Anglicised Indian menu. A smattering of vegetarian choice, and as far as I could see, barely any vegan. That’s what happens when you over Anglicise Indian foods that are traditionally more vegetable based than meat based. We pretty much enjoyed what we ordered when we finally got it, it was piping hot and decent portions- but after being told of a 20-30 min wait, going for a pint to pass time, returning and only being handed our order after more like an hour in total we would have eaten almost anything. That’s not how it works guys! The fella we saw waiting for his order on our return had also evidently been there too long because he was very disappointed when what he thought was his order finally arriving was actually ours. He was complaining as we left. We didn’t have the energy to complain after finding the Sitar Balti closed without notice, being told the Mint and Mustard doesn’t even do takeaway and then having to wait an hour to eat from this place. Generous bag of free poppadoms tho, just would have much preferred a paper bag than a yucky single use plastic carrier.

Food tasted okay but was delivered an hour after the predicted delivery time which makes it over 2 between the order being placed and the food being delivered. Also missing 2 naan breads from our order which when brought to their attention they are not delivering but the cost will be deducted from my next order, which considering I don't want to order from them again has essentially means I wasted money.

I guess I’ve been judging a book by its cover! We’ve lived in the area for 10 years, and only just ordered our first takeaway from Green Chilli today after a recommendation! It took over an hour to arrive, but was still hot when it got here. The portions were generous (is there anything more irritating than getting a container with a ton of sauce and four pieces of meat?), so I’ll definitely have some leftovers! We had the achar gosht, chicken dhansak, and saag bhaji- all delicious. We will definitely be back!

Ordered through just eat app, delivery time jumped up to an hour as soon as our was processed. The expected delivery time came and went after 20 minutes we phoned them and were told 4-5 minutes and the delivery should arrive 20 minutes after that 4-5 minutes I phoned again and was told they would phone the delivery driver. Two minutes later the delivery driver phones and can't find the house and after all that they charged another £3 delivery when delivery had already been charged in our order and the food was over an hour late and cold when it arrived. Safe to say I won't be ordering again.

I ordered coconut rice and king prawn sashlic have to say prawns where black rice had more coconut than rice made it dry onions where overcooked genrally poor quality wont be using this indian again

Have tried all the Indians in town and this is the best takeaway. It can be quite busy and can take quite a long time to have it delivered. We have never had a bad meal. Only a few occasions on a sat night we have ordered and had something missing but they always rectified it the next time we order and put extra in. Drivers always polite. Would definitely recommend.

Pick up service took half an hour - at 4am - then surly driver who reeked of tobacco. Felt like a long trip to the hotel. Room dated and tired. Also smelt of stale tobacco. Not a good start to our trip to Canada. In contrast our transfer to the airport to collect our hire car the following morning was driven by the most charming, friendly helpful and informative lady you could wish for.

Contacted Green Chili as waiting 45 mins for delivery and told on way, waited another 15 mins and food arrived cold. Would never order from here again. Paid cash they advertise when paying cash they give a discount - they did not. Stay clear if a ordering for a family meal!!!!!

40 minuets late, phoned to ask where it was 3 times 2nd time told me there was problem with traffic (Sunday sleepy Chepstow ???), delivery man turned up and said no problem with traffic but sent him to St Arvans to another job 20 minuets away ???

Just had another fantastic takeaway for the family from this great restaurant. This place always delivers great food at a reasonable price. It really has to be the b stbin Chepstow for takeaways.

Food is abs disgusting..late deliveries

The Green Chilli is a brilliant takeaway. We have used it many times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, fresh and is always hot when it is delivered. Unlike some Indian takeaways the food is not at all greasy or full of ghee.

Food is pretty good and price is decent but the delivery time is very poor, they say they will deliver within the hour but some times takes up to 2hr30mins and food arrives cold!

Don't order if you're hungry and expect your food within 2 hours! They click "delivered" on the expected delivery time if ordered through just eat when your food hasn't even left the shop. Can be tasty but seriously, could go to Tesco 28 times and back to get a microwave meal in time it will take to deliver!

We ordered a meal fro here for delivery, which we were told would be 30 minutes, an 65 minutes later after two phone calls it arrived. The food was cold, the sauces were watery and the meat tough. I will not order from here again

I wanted to add this as I'd seen some negative reviews on JustEat - I love green chilli, food is very good for takeaway, very consistent and only once in around 25 orders has delivery been slower than one hour (Saturday nights is when I order most)

Yo vivo en chepstow, y hemos comido en cada casa, cada restaurante curry, cada llevar. Pedí un curry verde de gambas el formulario que fuimos a mi Chili bin después de tres bocados. No volveré. Sita es más caro pero Balti la calidad está garantizada. Dicen que recibes lo que pagas. Chili verde no es barato y alegre.

I have been put on a low carb diet by my doctor and when I ordered a tandoori mixed grill and a chicken dhansak they both come with extras ie naan and rice. The guys in the Chilli offered me a bhaji not on the menu and perfect for someone on a special diet. I recommend to the owner he puts this on the menu it may just win you best curry in Cheptow. Certainly the best vegetable dish I have ever eaten

Not the best curry I've ever had but we collect from here at least a couple of times a month, sometimes more and have been doing so for many years. The food is always very good, excellent value for money and generous portions. If you want something different - or if you want something hotter or spicier than normal, the friendly guys there will always try to help.

We ordered a takeaway meal for a group of 8 as we were all too tired after the wedding the night before. The restaurant offered set meals so we ordered this not wanting to have to think too much and the food that arrived was tasty and not too overwhelming with chillies. Good value too
