Great Western Cafe in Sandwell

Pros: decent service, first cafe I've visited for a while with decent food and half decent cup of tea. Cons: tables dirty, no effort made to clean between customers If you're in west brom and would like to visit a cafe this would probably be your best bet. Others have either left or have worse hygiene and certainly worse food.

Not a bad place, but toilet door needs more security becuz people can cya on toilet there are gaps by door & also when eating ya food the staff bump into u which is so annoying.

Absolutely loved the English breakfast if your looking for a fry up in the area this is the place to go. Travelling from Coventry and wanted good food these were exceptional 👌

I arrived at around 12:40pm on a ‘normal’ Wednesday afternoon. The cafe did have some empty spaces/tables to sit down at. Upon arriving at the till, to place my order, I was greeted kindly and respectfully by a female worker. I ordered the £7.10 ‘Greedy Pig’ menu item, which I remember contained the following: ‘3 sausages, 3 strips of bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, chopped tomato, and normal/fried toast. I didn’t ask for a drink on this occasion, due to my schedule that day, being fairly busy, and needing to leave in a reasonable short amount of time, due to other important commitments. The food only took around 5-10 minutes max, to be delivered to myself. I really enjoyed the food, and it was excellently cooked and prepared, with no faults at all, except that I personally would of made the fried eggs, solid all the way through etc, eg non runny, although this isn’t their fault, as it’s only my person view etc. the staff are very friendly, and seemed genuinely concerned for their customers safety, enjoyment and their needs, whatever they may be, eg dietary or experience wise etc. A very good visit, and I would certainly eat/drink here again, and would definitely recommend to other people, for sure. It's a cafe that is not everyone's cup of tea but the meals are pretty good and good value for money

Nice clean environment friendly service food can be hit and miss but when it's good it's good prices are really reasonable but if not happy with the food there is no quibble food is replace so happy customer

The food is excellent and you never wait long for your food even when busy (which appears to be most of the time) The waitresses are friendly and helpful, the kitchen staff do a great job and the young lady taking the orders is brilliant. The place is always clean and well prepared too. recommend

Nice cafe, food is lovely, lots of seats but can get busy at times. Prices have gone up a bit recently which is expectes. The toilets definitely need refurbishing and updating, there holes in the walls, can see through the gap in the cubicles. Overall nice cafe just the toilets are a disappointment.

Food came quickly, good quality, enjoyed breakfast.

Can get good fresh four veg meals. And your fish and chips. I love the meals and jacket potatoes with cheese and or bake beans. Great!

The foods ok some day and some day is not....they need a new and updated wets room....and every night clean the bottles of red and brown sauce

Came in here yesterday for the first time . Nice clean cafe staff are friendly . Great meanu choice even for the fussy eaters . Price are good too . Food is nice everything is freshly cooked . Servecie is good . Deffo will be going back again instead of going to a chicken place or subway

Its a typical cafe large place plenty of seating,staff are always helpful it can get very busy nice atmosphere and the menu caters for most even fussy eaters food is cooked as you want so yes overall a good place to go,down side toilets could do with a refurb

Love this cafe in west Brom.....very friendly staffs and very good prices.....You can have breakfast or lunch, dinner from there......the only thing that bother me it the toilet...no way to dry our hands....It need updating.....

Not worth the money toilets are revolting very under cooked sausages brunt bacon over cooker eggs the hygiene of the place was severely bad never going there again! Was ill straight after because I didn't realise that the sausages were so under cooked untill after my first bite!!!! DISCUSTING

A very enjoyable meal and experience, from a regular customer! Also proud of the GWR, due to my family's roots! I love going to this cafe in West Bromwich! One of the reasons, that I love going so much, is because my dad's father, was a GWR train driver, when he was alive. I also really love the pictures, decals and decoration on the cafe walls. Their traditional cooked breakfast, is very tasty and good, and the cafe prices are very acceptable too. We can feed our family lunch, of three adults, for around £15 to £20, including drinks each! The staff are very cheerful and they all have a very welcoming and warm personality too. I will always be a loyal customer to this magnificent cafe, in West Bromwich!

It's a typical cafe with plain tables & chairs. They do a good selection of food throughout the day at very reasonable prices Can be slow at busy times but worth the wait.

Fast efficient service nice breakfasts and a very good selection of other meals plenty of seats. Busy from 9.30am shuts at 2/3pm closed Sunday

I visited here in June 2018 , all the food is reasonably priced and the portions sizes are very good , good service and the eating areas are clean and tidy . A proper old style cafe and i will definitely be visiting again

The boss is moody but the staff have a warm and welcoming manner which makes it feel like a community cafe. The food is excellent and the chef will always do special requests. I give the Great Western cafe 9 out of 10, it would be 10 out of 20 if the Boss looked after his staff and smiled a little bit more.

Don't like the place.not very hygiene when you go to the mens or ladies toilet.it as got a bad smell.soaking wet floors all time toilet seat broken plus sometimes it wont flush away The staff not pleasant moody all time.When you order food or a drink they are luke warm or cold. I wouldn't recommend people go in there that is why me and my husband don't go in anymore. It should be closed down and knocked down too...

Plenty of tables to sit and have a snack to eat. Foods good and nice mug of tea. But if you are travelling and what somewhere to stop for a quick meal, then be prepared to pay a parking fee, as there is no free parking around there.
