The restaurant is beautifully designed and you can tell they pay attention to all details there. The food was exquisite and we especially enjoyed the selection of snacks and canapes. The white onion veloute was wonderful, as was the bread course. In terms of desserts, I preferred the forced rhubarb one. The madeleine was ok, but then again, there’s only so much you can do with one and upgrade it to nee heights. I would have finished on a stringer note with maybe a more exciting petit four, but that is just my opinion. The bill came to £400 for two people with wine. The bar staff deserve a special mention as they were excellent and able to create some pretty amazing cocktails.

Stayed in one of the Walled Garden suites overnight and opted for the full immersive experience. Superb from start to finish. All of the staff were helpful, friendly and on top of their responsibilities. The package included a reception with drink (alcoholic or soft) and a nibble, a tour of the garden with the Chef Director, a wine tasting session and of course the tasting menu in the evening. My wide and I were lucky enough to be seated at the Chef's counter (worth requesting) which offers a cracking view of proceedings! The food itself was divine and I couldn't fault any of the dishes. It was pleasing to see that the desserts were restrained but amazing, and didn't spoil the meal - as I've seen happen at other fine dining establishments.

A Birthday treat of a 12 course tasting menu at a Michelin Star restaurant sounds fantastic but simply wasn't. The service was excellent and wine flight matching the food was truly brilliant. The food itself was a complete let down, the first 4 courses quite good then it went downhill, Scallop dish was so salty it was inedible, the fish course was simply dull and tasteless and venison dish was cold, sauce was dull and the vegetables just an earthy inedible kale ball. All that for £561 for 2 people.

Our fourth trip to Grace and Savour and it did not disappoint. I recommend booking seats at the bar/chefs table, where you can see just how much effort goes into each course. The wine flight was the best I’ve had anywhere and an improvement on our previous visit. Great service, remarkable food and a refreshingly relaxed atmosphere. What’s not to like? We will be back in the spring time to sample the new menu. We’re delighted to see Grace and Savour go from strength to strength.

This was my third time using this restaurant and the first two was very pleasant although I thought was a little expensive. My third visit was disappointing and in my opinion was not what I expected, Food was ok and was in my opinion totally overpriced, I don’t think I would make a forth trip.

Stayed at Grace & Savour for my husband's birthday. From beghinning to end this was a lovely experience, the staff were all incredible, so welcoming and friendly. The tasting menu was wonderful, each course tasted delicious. My only complaint was that I had made it clear on my booking that I'm a Pescatarian and although there were 3 delicious fish courses in the tasting menu, when my husband had 3 meat courses, I was given vetetarian courses and II'm not a vegetarian! It meant that out of the 15 courses I only had 3 fish and the rest were vegetables which was a real disappointment. We stayed overnight and the room was beautiful and breakfast was served in a hamper brought to the room and was delicious too. Would love to return but sadly we wont as there was no pescatarian option on the menu.

Fantastic venue and wonderful service. But the experience overall was only average. We’ve been to many fantastic restaurants and for the price, this one was a disappointment. The selection of drinks is poor, there are no cocktails except for some pre mixed cans, which is really a let down. The food was nicely prepared, and the prevention was super… but none of it blew me away. I certainly wouldn’t return. The price was exceptionally high. Even more than opheem for example which was miles better.

Very disappointed with an average tasting menu. A number of pleasant courses but no special dish. The fish was under seasoned, the pigeon chewy and tasteles and the duck ‘tough’.The service was good but food was not close to warranting the price charged.

We stayed here for one night as a couple for the 15 course dinner. We arrived too late for the garden tour but had a nice drink on arrival before dinner. The 15 course menu was terrific. As someone who enjoys hearty portions, I can safely say I left contently full. Each of the dishes were amazing and introduced individually. We were also very happy with the wine pairings. No faults in any sense. The room was great, although the planes from the nearby airport were audible during the day. The only comment I do have is that the breakfast was not in the same league as the rest of the experience. Although satisfactory, we wished there were some hot choices available.

We visited for the 15 course evening dining experience (£155 a head) where everyone sits down at 7pm around the food preparation and serving area. It’s fascinating to watch the chefs in action plating up each course over this three hour experience and working like a well oiled machine. I can see why they gained their Michelin star relatively soon after opening. The food is very tasty (the sauces were a highlight for me) and each course is explained by the server (and you get a menu to takeaway at the end). Each course is small (well there are 15 courses) with the first 5 really being a single mouthful - but they all packed a punch. It was nice to meet David, the chef, as well as he made a point of visiting each table during the evening. Highlights - beautiful setting overlooking the walled garden, very high quality tasty food, immersive experience Personally I thought the wine pairing was a lot more expensive than other fine dining restaurants we’ve visited which meant we didn’t opt for it which was a shame (think it was about £165/185 a head). A great experience for a ‘special occasion’ - it was my 60th so it was a lovely treat. The food was of the same standard as other Michelin starred restaurants we’ve visited, but being able to watch the team in action made it a special evening.

My two star rating is based against other high cost fine dining experiences, not other "ordinary" restaurants. FIRST, the restaurant itself is extremely well decorated and furnished and it is spacious, light and airy. It is set in beautiful surroundings. SECONDLY, the staff are numerous and well disposed, and the quality of service is excellent. and no less than one would expect at a high-end dining venue. THE FOOD: To understand my review's title you need to have read the children's folk tale of the same title. When it comes to the food I and my friend both felt like the little boy, who sees all around him crowds cheering and admiring the emporer's beautiful clothes, when in fact he is butt naked. My friend and I do not understand the five star comments for this restaurant when it comes to the food. We did not drink alcohol, and even so we paid very close to £350 for the two of us, so this was a major investment in one three hour food experience. It is for that reason that I have decided to share mine and my friend's thoughts on the 15 course taster summer menu we sat down to. The other recent two star review of this restaurant sums up exactly my feelings. The portion sizes were ridiculously small. The first five courses were one bite courses - and I mean one bite. Some of the courses required a small egg spoon to sip two or three very small spoonfuls of sauce or jus that came with your one bite. Most of the remaining ten courses were of similar design, with extremely small portions ( even by fine dining standards ) served on large tableware ( I am old enough to remember the introduction of Nouvelle Cuisine in London in the 1980s, and some of initial issue with portion sizes ) The most disappointing aspect of the whole night was the "Main" meat dish of lamb. If you put one and a half breakfast table packets of butter together, then in surface area and depth that represents how much lamb was on your plate. It was accompanied by very small amounts of leaf vegetables. The lamb was very tasty but amounted to two very small mouthfuls. Course 8 was the bread. One relatively small cob between two of us. The bread was gorgeous and a small basket of cut pieces of this bread would have been ideal to leave on the table to help soak up the various sauces/jus that came with each course ( as I used to get often when I lived in France ) The various sauces were, without exception, really tasty. The three or four dessert courses were fine, not breathtaking in my opinion, but some people might really really enjoy them. The last course of cake was a very dry end to the meal. One could criticise me for being too greedy and focusing on quantity over quality, but it's much more than that. Some of the portions served were so small in my opinion, that the food did not have enough time to please the palate sufficiently. At this price point I do not feel that the meal represented value for money. I went home genuinely hungry. I also don't think it represented well enough the talent of the chefs. I would happily pay the same money for ten heartier and more honest expressions of the chef's talent. One final comment; two of the serving staff had not tasted the course that they were serving to us. They knew the ingredients list off by heart, but surely they would benefit from tasting the food for themselves !?

I have to say everything was “first class” from the moment we arrived to be greeted by the staff and a welcome drink mixed with bespoke botanicals chosen by James, a tour of the the walled garden with Head Chief David, to the moment of our departure, the following morning after a beautiful picnic breakfast on the patio in the garden. We enjoyed the 15-course taster menu which was fantastic in terms of variety, presentation and taste and what also made it extra special was that the staff took time to explain each course and the intricacies of how it was prepared and sourced, they always had time to answer your questions. The wine list was extensive and varied. The different recommendations with different courses were invaluable to me and again we enjoyed talking to the sommelier about the origins and taste. It was lovely to meet and chat to David and his team after the meal and sit outside in front of the fire pit with a final glass of wine. It all added up to an evening that was very special and will live long in the memory. We sat at the chiefs table, which we had never done before and really enjoyed watching the team operate and see everything prepared in front of you. Our room for the afternoon and evening provided a beautiful and tranquil escape. It was spacious beautifully themed, equipped and overlooked the beautify gardens both front and back. A very special place, a brilliant team and we will definitely be back and recommend to family and friends. A massive thanks to David and the team for creating the memory. Ray & Kathryn.

Lovely spot for a drink - Used to live opposite when it first opened and regularly visited. Been back recently and its kept all its charm. Not usually huge on craft beer but there is some good lager options and the gin choice is vast. Looking forward to popping in again Friday. Might try the pizza this time :)

Absolutely fine if you like the bare bones of deep fried delights - we were staying here for a few days and I honestly struggled to find something to eat. Apart from a few tapas dishes, it Burger, burger, burger, burger, steak sandwich, fish & chips or 1 solitary pasta dish. No specials, no other option than what was offer ! Service was absolutely diabolical, on one occasion, our table of had 1 dish served 10 minutes before the other 6 and the remaining 8th dish 20 minutes after that !!
