Lovely service from Shewak and the cook crew 💕

Came in on a Wednesday night, got 2 burgers, 3 sides and 2 drinks for me and my partner for £30. Great value, atmosphere was good too considering it was a week night. Staff were great, quick and easy to speak too, really clean restaurant and all staff looked happy to be there. A+ would recommend,

I had the classic chicken (panko) burger and it was 10/10 minus nothing. The milkshake was very tasty and the ordered chips too. I never believed such local looking shop can make such a tasty delicious burger. I am happy I gave them a trial and o didn’t regret it. I will definitely excitingly order more from GBK. After devouring the burger 🍔 like none other, I can positively confirm the reason they have got great number of reviews and stars on Google. If google have not directed me to them , I wouldn’t have known they existed. So far the best burger I have had in a while😎 the customer service was commendable too. Keep it up

The food was ok - not fantastic, for the price, but solid. Felt a bit like they are phoning it in now. I had the blue cheese smashed burger and it was literally two patties and a bit of blue cheese. Zero garnish. It tasted ok but, I dunno, a bit limp and dead. Was I supposed to pay extra for a bit of lettuce and tomato ?

I had a craving for a burger and took advantage of my daughter‘s 20% off student card. As a senior you need to get every break, you can. I went with just a single burger and I do have to say it was delicious. I think they know their hamburger meat. My daughter, while we were waiting, asked for a glass of wine and there was no hesitation, even though we went at a table, they poured one for her. That was appreciated. As you know, it’s the small things in life. Engaging and friendly staff.

I had a very disappointing experience at GBK Oxford last Friday. I went with my partner and a friend who was visiting from abroad, hoping to enjoy a nice burger after a long journey. We called ahead to check if we could still be served around 9:15 PM, knowing that traffic from the airport would delay us. I specifically asked about the timing and was told that the restaurant was closing at 10 PM, which I took to mean we'd have a 15-minute grace period to eat. However, when we arrived at 9:30 PM, the person who greeted us (who also happened to be the same person I spoke to on the phone) told us that we could only get takeout. I was really frustrated, especially since I had clearly explained that I had called in advance, and I saw him taking an order from another table at the same time. It felt incredibly dismissive and inconsiderate. Had I known we wouldn't be able to dine in, I would have either gone somewhere else or gone straight home, saving myself the cost of parking in the city center. The lack of communication and poor service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Ordered online. Delicious food per usual. Today I found a 2 for 1 burger coupon alongside my delivery! Thank you <3 Whenever I do go in person, the staff are lovely to me and even give me recommendations.

Very attentive servers and very tasty food!

I came in on my day off after doing some Christmas shopping and was greeted and seated as soon as I came in by Steven. I only ordered a simple burger with fries, and it is without a doubt one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had! Though it was served rather quickly it was fresh and very juicy. I had the burger with a fresh lemonade garnished with mint which went down nicely. The staff were lovely and super friendly, I wasn't staying for long as I had more to get on with but Caesar (I believe he was my runner/waiter) had a little chat with me while I was paying. 5/5 across the board, will most definitely be coming back here again and more often!

Fairly disappointing, even on a second visit. The burger was poorly balanced, with overpowering patties that were cooked well-done (almost burned) despite ordering medium. The onion rings were overly hard and crusty outside, with a dry interior. The milkshake, however, was excellent and the highlight of the meal, leading to the overall rating of 2 stars.

Food was amazing and filled with flavour. Was also impressed with how fast the food came bearing how busy it was. Service was also amazing and delighted with matthew’s service who took care of us!

If you are couple they will let you in if you are not they will refuse because we haven’t booked the table booking are scams

Was just looking for a quick and decent meal while on an Oxford day trip. Ended up getting one of the best burgers I have ever had. Can’t remember the name of it but it had gravy and two huge Pattie’s. My wife had a really good gluten free burger as well with good gluten free bun. Great place!

Great option for breakfast too! The avocado and egg muffin meal is great value for money with the hash browns and the orange juice/coffee. The muffin is very tasty. Hope the breakfast menu is here to stay!

Gbk. You know what to expect so good but not exceptional food and functional atmosphere. But the service was efficient and friendly. The only gripe here is that the iPad ordering system didn’t cope with the build your own burger option.

The new smashed patties are superb. Highly recommended. Great dips and shakes too.

First time at the gourmet burger, and I was really impressed with the food. The burger was perfect, and it was really tasty, chips cooked really nicely. Great friendly staff and nice vide.The only thing that lets it down is the service charge added to the bill, which was nearly £7 on a £50 bill, and another service charge of £1:13 added to another bill for 2 drinks, they then ask if you want to pay a tip, I declined that, but I can give them a tip now, we are not in America, and maybe think about the service charges if you want to gain repeat custom.

Amazing food, if you ever come to Oxford you should definitely come here it would be a shame to miss it. The burgers are great, the fries and mac and cheese are amazing and the baconnaise is so good it should be sold in stores.

Date night with girlfriend, Waiter was quality 👌 Food was amazing, Highly recommend! Only downside is this restaurant is a little small. But other than that, 10/10😁

Management and staff are all friendly. Always going above and beyond and making sure food is fresh and to my liking.

Staff were absolutely lovely, very accommodating about allergies and making sure everything was safe. We went in for a takeaway not too long before closing and they were still really friendly and didn’t make us feel like we were in the way at all. Very scrummy burgers, to boot.

Gourmet Burger is not what it used to be. Choice and imaginative ingredients on the menu are hugely reduced but the price is way up. I consider £55 a bit excessive for two burgers with fries and two milk shakes. Plus you now have to do the ordering yourself from a tablet at your table. It was a tasty burger, but still less service and less choice for more money.

I hate giving bad reviews but I have to be honest on this one! Sorry GBK! We went in today with the assumption that being GBK it has to be decent going by previous experiences at other locations. Sadly it wasn't the case and I hope it isn't a trend among the rest of the GBK branches. We refused to use the tablet self ordering and went with the good old fashioned way of ordering our food through a human being. The tablet idea might be okay if it is busy but even then it detaches the human element. I get that we are becoming more socially inept as a species but let's not actively encourage it. Food arrived in good time. Burger was fine as were the loaded fries though bit on the small side. Went to pay and noticed the 12.5% service charge added on to the bill. Fortunately the waiter was honest and asked if I would be happy to pay it, he had no issue at all when I asked for it to be removed from the bill. Again, human element is helpful as I've read that ordering on the tablet adds it regardless so we dodged a bullet on that one. Nearly £40 for two burgers, one loaded fries and two drinks is not good value for money sadly for what you get. GBK don't seem to be as good as they used to be and sadly I will take my custom elsewhere from now on. Sorry GBK!

First time user of GBK. Kids are always going on about it. Had a good burger, I've been converted to smash burgers some time ago so will never go back to normal burgers! But, it was all just OK. Nothing special. In my mind, this is what MacDonalds should be (GBK burgers are better by far) and almost what the Macdonalds pictures look like. But Gourmet? Not really. Yes, they're good. Worth going to try them. But Gourmet is a bit of a grand description. Clean, tidy and quick service. Didn't lime the app/table tablets for ordering, you need to be a teenager to figure it all out. Was a lot quicker to take our order manually which is what the staff did, quickly and without fuss. They did miss 1 side off, but again sorted quickly. It's worth it for a quick bite, not really a take the family out for dinner type special of place.

We took a couple of burgers to take away, unfortunately they forgot to put the chips in the bag... The burgers were good, I went for the smash burger, I should have ordered it with an extra patty as smash patties are usually kind of small, it left me hungry also cose they forgot the chips...

Food itself was ok, nothing special but still tasty and ok ( food served on the warm not hot side ) Reason for low rating, £40 for some burger and chips X2 , which you order yourself on a iPad style machine at your table and then a service charge on top. Felt more like McDonald's than a gourmet burger experience, wouldn't recommend this to anyone, again not because of the food. But the premium pricing and service charges for self service ( almost ) food

I ordered from this place for years, one day they did not put my burguer in the deliveroo package. I let them know and their reply was "we always put it in" well if you were I would not be writting this. Shame as the burguers were nice.

Never again. We went there today for lunch with friends. The first big NO was when we have realized that there is a MANDATORY service charge of 12.5% in the app for order. I could never imagine that a fast food chain would charge a service charge. But we were hungry and already seated, so decided to go with the burgers. We have ordered 2 smashed classic and 1 smashed blue cheese burger, all of them with 2 patties. We have received very small and EXTREMELY GREASY burgers (in a usual pub, they would be in menu as starters and not a main dish). I dont know what kind of oil they use, but I still have very bad taste in my mouth because of the very oily patties. The passion fruit lemonade has been made from concentrate and one can actually judge very easily that the cheap ingredients has been used (probably the cheapest concentrate mixed with water and ice). The chips were not crispy at all and felt like made from frozen. Overall, we did not like it at all and found it very expensive compared the value.

Food is good, but overpriced with small portions. They add a service charge.

If you order "Go Naked", expect just to get meat in a box. It doesn't matter what else is supposed to come with the burger...onions, gherkins and salad instead of the bun...you'll literally just get plain meat in a greasy box.

Vibes are super chill and they have a TV so you can watch the sports with friends over food. Service is amazing - very attentive and welcoming. Good range of vegan options and the Californian is *chefs kiss*. They also do a vegan milkshake so you don’t have to miss out if you can’t eat dairy (bonus, it’s super tasty)!!! 🤩 Would recommend for a relaxed meal in Oxford.

What a great place. We didn't book and was seated straight away by a very pleasant and welcoming staff member. We were given ample time to look through the menu, and drinks were served pretty much straight away. The burgers were cooked to perfection,very juicy. My only complaint would be that it was a little cramped

Lovely place. Great decor. Onion rings and fried chicken were average but the burgers and fries were excellent. Would defo be back again in this lovely city.
