Goodwick Restaurant in Pembrokeshire

Worst food ever.curry never even looked like curry,looked like it had been put together by a 3 year old.Never,ever again.

Terrible. Watery dishes. Madras had a deep layer of oil on top. Rice and chips were acceptable. Expensive. Definitely would not return.

We have always had Fish and Chips from here and they have been excellent so we thought we would try the Indian for my Birthday. We had the Lamb Tikka Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Madras and Chicken Jalfrezi - all the meals were very watery, grey and not a lot of meat in them. My son-in-law only had 5 pieces of small chicken in his Chicken Tikka! We had hoped that it was going to be good as there isn't a decent Indian Restaurant around Goodwick (You have to go and collect from Dial-A-Curry in Haverfordwest) Hoping our review inspires the Restaurant to up their game and produce a really good Indian Meal for future, but at the moment we won't be going back for a Curry! Fish and Chips Only!

Ordered a lamb Biriani. I was shocked when it arrived One take away container full of grey oily rice. No vegetable curry with it. It was disgusting and asked for them to collect it and bring my money back which they did. What was annoying they tried to justify it and say it was how biriani dishes are. Once I told them I’ve been in India many times they kept quiet. I spoke to them days later in the cafe and they stood there smirking at me. They are fine for fish and chips but the food you’d expect to get good quality they either don’t care or can’t cook.

We had a takeaway supper from here. The fish was cooked to order so nice and fresh. Chips were good and from extensive choice on offer I opted for the Chicken Balti Pie. There is a small sit down restaurant next door serving the same food but unusually for a chippy it’s licensed!

We have used this Fish & Chip shop many times over the years and tonight's delivered was just not up to scratch. Those that had fish, noted that the fish and the batter had an unpleasant taste of pepper. If I want pepper on my food let me add it - there is no need to add it to either fish or a batter mix. The chips looked as though they had been cooked a long time before they were delivered not crisp and fluffy, but flaccid and meh. We are good eaters - but last night a lot of food was thrown away 😕 Very Disappointing

Our family group of 6 we’re staying at a local guest house and we’re given a leaflet for this establishment. We phoned through a large order at 7.30pm after trying to order via the website. Food arrived at 9.20 barely warm and looked unappealing, but after a 7 hour journey with several young children we were pretty desperate. At a price of £64 I would expect far better. Would definitely not recommend or use again.

Take away fish and chips. Quality fish with batter not too thick, and well cooked chips. Couldn't fault it.

This is for the Goodwick chippy, forget customer service in this place! Service without a smile….. food is hit and miss, no eye contact, no smiles, just hand over your food and get out seems to be their customer service training!

Paid for large cod and large chips. What I got resembled a child's portion. Plus they charge a service fee for ordering online. Won't be returning. Other chippies in area

Best avoid this place at all cost wife had fish and chips i had pie and chips fish was disgusting and stank she did not eat it i ate the pie and was on the toilet most of the night If you want my advice Do not eat hear !

Was tasty but overpriced and very small portions (chips were tiny for a chippie) so was left feeling slightly hungry.

Was recommended the chippy. Tried it. Won't go back. Perhaps we picked a bad day. None the less, you have been warned.

We stayed at Goodwick last week and after an hour of trying different restaurants, this was the only place that could accommodate my family. We were a bit reluctant to try in the beginning as it doesn’t look much from the outside. We were soon reminded that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. From the second we walked in we were greeted by a young man who was very polite. Our orders were taken almost immediately. All the food was cooked fresh and was absolutely delicious. Everyone within my family said the same which is unusual as I have a very fussy mother lol. The fish shape plates were a nice touch, my children thought they were hilarious. Prices were very reasonable too. All round cracking place to eat.

We went there because nowhere else was open and ordered vege burger and chips and chicken chips both filled the hunger gap nicely.

Nice relaxing place; our order was taken immediately, and the fish and chips turned out to be most delicious. All cooked to order - really fresh-tasting - most excellent crisp batter - all nice and light and non-greasy. You could taste the fact that they use fresh cooking oil. One of the best plates of fish and chips that I have eaten.

Very good, cooked to order and good sized portions. The fish was really fresh and the chips just right - the mushy peas were a bit thin.

Went here to eat in thinking it would be proper fish & chips! Not usual fish shop chips. Think they were frozen! Fish was ok . Expensive meal for what it was.

No hair nets, no gloves.. fish gave us all the squirts... charged 5p for a bag for the first time in a chip shop (I thought you had to have 250 employees?) took along time to get my order. 20 mins and there was only one person in front of me

Everything else in Goodwick was closed, so ended up here. And, against expectations, it was fine. Very limited choice: cod, chicken, scampi or burger and chips. I had cod and chips. Both were good, if unexceptional. The minimal salad garnish was fresh and clean.

Nothing else was open. They were out of the first two things I ordered. Ended up with a cheeseburger that was not good. Service was not good. Table was not cleaned before we sat down. Need I go on?

Este es su pescado y patatas fritas. tienda básica Nada de lujos, pero el pescado y pollo, y patatas fritas son buenas, y la cantidad de comida que te dan sin duda llenará. No hay muchas opciones para cenar en Goodwick, y estábamos muy cansados después de caminar 16 kilómetros para llegar a nuestro B&B. Así que este café llena nuestra necesidad de una rápida, abundante cena para dos caminantes agotados. No hay una selección de cervezas. El servicio fue bueno, nada especial. Buen comer barato, seguro.

Este es un café, siempre que tengan eso en cuenta está bien, no es un restaurante. La comida era buena, dice porciones decentes tamaño su licencia pero poca variedad, largas colas en sección que llevar que decir algo sobre la comida. 20 libras por dos con una bebida.

Cometimos el error de decidir comer aquí el sábado por la noche...¡nunca más! Mi hijo, ancianos madre y yo decidimos, para redondear una tarde agradable en las playas locales, por tener una cena de pescado y chip. Mi madre en particular era muy hambrientos que por cierto era la única razón por la que no se levantaron.

Tenemos comida del fish and chips" sobre una base regular y no me puedo quejar de la comida o el servicio.

Habíamos pescado y patatas fritas desde aquí un sábado por la noche que llegamos en Goodwick. Teníamos grandes expectativas del turismo de pescado, ya que estábamos al lado del mar, pero hemos tenido mucho mejor volver a casa en los Midlands 100 millas o tan...

Bien ... Fuimos en busca de un buen pescado de mar y patatas fritas. Aún así, estábamos buscando cuando nos fuimos. Cuando entramos en el "restaurante" donde nos abalanzaron sobre una camarera entusiasta que nos dijo donde sentarse. Estábamos convencidos de que no quería quedarse...

Very limited number of places to eat nearest the ferry terminal. We chose this restaurant for convenience. It was busy but they squeezed us in. Cod and chips were served very quickly and were beautifully cooked. Desserts were excellent. Prices were a bit steep but the service was good.

We visited the Goodwick restaurant on our first night in Fishguard. The battered Cod and chips was adequate, but the cod was somewhat "mushy" as is often the case with frozen fish. The breaded plaice was quite dry, possiblly overcooked, and hard. As they are licensed, we had Pembrokeshire Ale and one colleague had a Cobra lager. With Sweets, the meal was quite expensive, and filled a gap, but value for money it was quite poor. We did not return

I think one could accept the ridiculous wait for food if it was decent and tasty when it arrived; this is the only chippy in the immediate area after all, but it's truly awful.Fish batter is greasy and unpleasant and the chips resemble nothing more than pale undercooked slugs - and taste (I imagine) much the same.Is the cooking oil ever changed I wonder?Whatever happened to lovely golden chips and crisp, light batter on a good piece of fresh, not frozen fish?An embarrassment to Goodwick sadly.

For a start the food is frozen not fresh, which really shows on the flavour and quality. You can't really call it fresh food if it comes straight from a packet which completely defeats the object of the word 'fresh'.The manager "prides" herself on customer service, which would help if she wasn't so rude to both customers and staff, that is probaly why they always have a staff wanted sign in the window because of the way they are treatedOverall it is not a pleasent place to eat out, there is much nicer places to visit and try local "fresh" foodI would highly advise you to go to other restaurants within the town.

I've been to this place regularly over the years. I don't live in Fishguard but I come from there and my Dad and I have sat in and eaten in the rather grandly named restaurant area because the fish and chips were very nice. I'd been told that it had gone down hill but honestly I was not prepared for how badly. The the grumpy woman behind the counter was rude to customers and other staff alike. The chips were tepid limp and greasy literally scraped from the bottom of the barrel.The fish at least was freshly cooked, I knew that because I waited for it. Oh how I waited. My wife, who thought I'd gone missing by the time I got back, used to work in several really good chippies as a teenager and she guessed that the reason the chips were as bad as they were was probably because the chip box had not been cleaned out properly and the oil was old, all I know is that they were virtually inedible. To top it all it was over priced.
